Again, no video. It's easy to fake screenshots. On the other hand, why would Tom destroy his reputation?
Let's wait and see...
I think I'm going to keep my HD2 a little longer. Not that it's likely that I will prefer WP7S over WM6.5 or Android, but I'm curious to try it...

tom is a pretty reputable source, i dont think that he'd do that either.
It was also confirmed by a Mod in the HD2 ROM development thread. Lets wait and see..

easy to fake a screen shot with shadow and glare and perfect reflection...
A prominent person such as him is not a person who would let his name get dragged in the mud like that, I'm inclined to believe this is the real deal. Its alot sooner than I couldve ever hoped for, but with the lack of software available at this point anyone trying this without an IRONCLAD way of downgrading is a hopeful idiot IMO.
Still, fantastic news nonetheless.

Of course, if you display it on the phone.
Very easy, actually.
Well, Tom actually says the pictures are coming from Russian hackers, and I'm a member at the forum where this was posted initially. These guys are very reputable and have proved more than once that they have some good sources, but they could play a joke as well.
Good sources? Afaik they just hacked an HTC server.
But you're right, those guys are credible.
Too bad they couldn't make a video, though
Video is up guys
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJCFdojbjh8
And that video doesn't look like it's that Throttle Launcher WP7 skin?
not to me...
I say bring it on though
Video seems suspicious to me as you can't see if it's really an HD2 - all you can see is a black shape. But then, these people who have done and confirmed this are indeed reputable...
My prayers have been answered. Granted, I figured it would just be a matter of time... just not this SHORT an amount of time!!!

Guys, this is tom_codon. Just have a look about XDA, I very much doubt he would do this.
As for me, I read in the (other forum) thread that you cannot go back to WM6.5 once installed, as they had to replace the bootloader to get it to work - so this is definitely out of the question for me...
video 2 for all the doubters....

If they came this far to get it on there then I'm sure that will get figured out as well.

Probably not. You can try, but keep in mind just because hw3d is working doesn't mean it's fully optimized, plus our hardware is paltry compared to basically all of the native Android phones.
I have a feeling the latter is more of a factor than the former.
FINALLY,
i cant play any 3d game like htc hd2 alright ??

I removed the ridiculous number of sad faces.
Have you looked at what the specs on the HD2 are?!? The TP2's stats are horrid compared to it - its hardware matches native Android devices much more so than the TP2.

HW3D DOES work on TP2. I get 577 in Quadrant benchmark. Might be too slow for some games, but fast enough for Android to run smooth and responsive.

Hey guys, i just read an article about succesful porting Honeycomb into G1 and also to HTC Wilfire. So i was wondering, is it possible to port Honeycomb into Kaiser because Wildfire has similar specification. Thx for answers

I'd rather port the next version of android made for smart phones. Getting Honeycomb to run even close to well on our phones would be asking a bit much i think.
I don't want anybody to do it. I was just asking if is it possible. So thanks for replying

I'd say it'd be possible, especially if someone has already sorted some 320x240 overlays for the wildfire. It'd be dog slow though i'd imagine and probably a bit difficult to use on a small screen.
I don't even think it would be possible.
Just because of RAM. There wouldn't be enough. Perhaps resizing and compressing textures and such for the small screen would decrease the payload.. but even still.
Just a suggestion, we need to do more on bringing a stable gingerbread on to Kaiser. Still it needs work regarding stability on wifi/gps and also the camera. Honeycomb maybe considered as resource intense imo.
Hello, it's possible that in near future I'll need some WP7 device for app testing/debugging. Desire and Mozart are quite similar in HW specs (like HD7 and HD2 where WP7 port exists). So my question is, can be WP7 ROM ported on Desire? even if phone features won't work... thanks
No. Few reasons. There is just no interest in WM being on the Desire. And even if someone did it they would have a battle on their hands with Microsoft. Also, the bootloader will be way way different and so on. So in a nutshell.... it is possible, but no one is stupid enough or not going to waste their time.
thanks for answer, then it seems I'll have to change Desire for some WP7 device
Are u jokin ?? Interchange ur Andro for WP ??

Did you read my first post? I've mentioned the reason there - application developement for WP7. And of course WP7 has good emulator (definitely better than Android, which is painfully slow), but sometimes it's just better or in some cases even needed to test on real device.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Boot Manager and WP7
maybe the Boot Manager could be the option. Only question is, how to create a bootable WP7 image...
it will be good
hd2 have already android roms but devs still working on wp7 roms i ll be the first user if someone going to relesa it..

I dont understand how you can effectively debug a wp7 application on "alien" hardware.
But anyway, its not been done before, you would be the first (as far as I know). You would need to make wp7 work on the desire yourself. You need to be a rom developer and an extremely experienced one at that.
rootSU: yes, I agree. It might sound weird, but I wanted to reuse my Desire (And I like the idea of dualboot, before Desire I had HTC Touch Pro with WinMo&Android). And I suppose that the biggest problem of WP7 would be bootloader...
Hello everyone!
Liking new smartphone so far?
So my question is, M8 has a dual depth camera right? And as I know it's kind of an open source so we can play with it.
Is it anywhere possible for someone to make any kind of cheap home 3d motion capture app with it, so that we could import it to Autodesk or any other 3d animation program? Is it possible to do that with M8 dual camera? Even if it's laggy, with hiccups, just for learning purposes... I think it would be awesome if someone could put their skillful hands on that idea. I, personally, would pay a lot for that kind of software.
Thank you in advance for your attention.
Good luck with M8!

Take a look at Google's Project Tango. Their prototype phone looks like it has a similar dual sensor setup to the M8. Also, one of the partners listed on the page is Omnivison, who make make the rear camera in the M8. Hopefully something similar is possible on the M8 too!

Sounds cool to me! ^_^
although possible i would presume.
The set up of the cameras is not conducive with 3d filming or capture Im afraid they would need to be better placed and balanced.

Yeah, I understand it won't be perfect. But I hope there would be some kind of possibility to do that, even if it's poor...
