Hello everyone!
Liking new smartphone so far?
So my question is, M8 has a dual depth camera right? And as I know it's kind of an open source so we can play with it.
Is it anywhere possible for someone to make any kind of cheap home 3d motion capture app with it, so that we could import it to Autodesk or any other 3d animation program? Is it possible to do that with M8 dual camera? Even if it's laggy, with hiccups, just for learning purposes... I think it would be awesome if someone could put their skillful hands on that idea. I, personally, would pay a lot for that kind of software.
Thank you in advance for your attention.
Good luck with M8!

Take a look at Google's Project Tango. Their prototype phone looks like it has a similar dual sensor setup to the M8. Also, one of the partners listed on the page is Omnivison, who make make the rear camera in the M8. Hopefully something similar is possible on the M8 too!

Sounds cool to me! ^_^
although possible i would presume.
The set up of the cameras is not conducive with 3d filming or capture Im afraid they would need to be better placed and balanced.

Yeah, I understand it won't be perfect. But I hope there would be some kind of possibility to do that, even if it's poor...

Hello guys. I wonder if, as the new application on Iphone using GPS and compass (Nearest Tube), it is possible to make increased virtual reality with our Touch HD.
Does anyone has ever think about it?
Yogui
Yes, i've thought about it. Pretty harsh answer: No, it's not possible. Simply because the HD doesn't have a compass.

Hi Everyone,
I’m new to XDA, so I thought I’d try to make my first post as helpful as I can (I love the noob video on the registration page by the way! )
Anyway…
I was recently taking part in an online discussion with some Android beginners, and a really big topic for them was the new camera app in Sense 4.0 / upcoming HTC One series. Due to the varying knowledge levels of the people and the difficulty of typing out so many replies, I offered to create a video to (attempt to) address many of their questions.
So, with the aid of the S4X ROM from the Virtuous team, I put together a 24 minute video that goes through the included pre-release version of the camera app in Sense 4.0 from start to finish.
Please note that I was asked to go through each and every one of the menu options, while also having to add a walkthrough of the updated panorama feature and include explanations of stuff like ISO etc. For that reason, some of you may find that the video drags on a bit (oh, and I’m no Spielberg either ).
Still, if it helps a small handful of people, it was worth the effort.
HTC One Camera app - pre-release video walkthrough
Cheers,
Bugsy.

I posted a link to your vid in the sample images thread as they are discussing the topic of interface videos there at the moment. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1543802
Hmm, there was something in your video that got me thinking.
You pointed out that an f2.0 camera lens allows twice as much light into the camera than an f2.8 lens would (so 100% more light).
This reminded me that HTC stated that the One X lets in 44% more light than the previous model. Does anyone know which previous model HTC were refering to? I'm guessing it's not the Sensation, because I doubt that has an f2.3 (ish?) lens
Sensation is f2.4, One X is f2.0

In relation to an F2.8 lens, 44% more light does equate to F2.4. Having said that, I can't say that I've ever seen any documentation where HTC have stated that the Sensation has an F2.4 lens. Images don't appear to contain this info embedded in their EXIF data either.
@EddyOS Would you mind telling me how you found this info?

Hello all, I know traditionally i only review samsung devices as a samsung mobiler i've decided to branch out a bit and share the love. So here's my review on the One x. Let me know what you think, i'm always taking your comments on board and trying to make my content better.
Out of interest it was filmed on a canon Eos 1100D rather than my galaxy s2 for a change. Hopefully you can tell the difference
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8JwiCQlxhg&feature=youtu.be
and a video of the two flavours of ICS on the galaxy nexus and the one X

I also took some photos from different angles of the one x...find them at my blog here:

Here's a quick comparison of the screen on the Galaxy Nexus vs HTC one x. Which do you prefer?

Nice review Stacey!
I thought Mobilers always had access to the Samsung devices prior to general public. I clearly remember Dom and you had the SGS2 long (weeks/days) before the general public. Both of you guys had a popular thread before release of the SGS2 during last April/May.
Hey, PM me a photo of the SGS3 and the specs list...Trust me, I won't tell anyone!
Good reviews there and i love your english. Hope i will talk like that someday.
One thing to the Multitask. The thing you reviewed on the One X as Taskmanager ist the taskmanager. Its just a graphic gimmik to show main threads and easily jump from one to another. Search on the device applist for Taskmanager and then you see your real tasks and up to 9 tasks at once.
I realy love my One X but i think all Sense gimmiks are just made to look good. Usability is just on 2nd rank. For much Sense widgets i use alternatives.
nice review
thank you

Ahhyes ! I found it. Please I'll add a note to the description of the video. Thanks for pointing it out
A good video, just one word of advice:
When you want to show something on the screen, dont move the phone closer to the camera, it makes the image blurry.
Best is to just keep it the way it is, so that the image stays sharp and then once you're editing the video zoom in digitally!
That'll make the screen more readable
Thanka for the feed back, seriously guys this all helps me for when I make my next . My next purchase is a proper tripod for my camera lol
also added a quick comparison of super amoled vs super ips LCD2...see 1st post for url
So the S3 has been shown and the features are absolutly amazing. For the people who have the Desire HD aka this whole sub forum, will we beable to port it. I know the Desire HD has a proximity Sensor, does that mean we can get Direct Call feature? Will S-voice be capable, will it be like siri where we need a proxy or something like that? "Pop up play" where we can play video in any window? Many more. I would like peoples opinion on what is possible and not possible.
Like I say in all my post, I appologize if my post is irrelevant.
All the features can be found here http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/samsung/9243535/Samsung-Galaxy-S3-features-at-a-glance.htmlIm aware that the s3 has not come out yet, I want peoples opinions. Thank you and GOOD DAY

True :3
I think that it can be possible but we will need to wait until Samsung start to sell the phones over the world and the developers can start to digging in the room and all the features that the S3 have.
We just need to wait

The issues will be like porting sense to non HTC based phone. The Software will require the Samsung firmware and drivers. So in the end. There maybe a 1% of it being possible.
Hey there.
Recently i went over to CM12 on my LG G3, the move has been great, but has come with a price.
I have googled around, and im sure im not the only person with wishes as far as the camera on the G3, but i have not been able to find the answer i am looking for.
My main issue is that the camera has become almost put back to the stone age. All looks "decent" , but once you zoom in, my god, its like looking at PC game from the late 80s. Pixelated and useless.
I dont care about 120fps video or higher then stock quality, im just looking if there is any way at all to make this better?
I have tested a few app based camera solutions, and it does seem this is a driver thing, which i know from reading around isnt just so, but maybe my searchings arnt bringing up the full picture, so i thought i would ask here.
Hi, the short answer is no. This has been the main issue for people to move to AOSP or CM.
There are plenty of threads discussing about this issue.
Sorry for not having better news.
Only option is to use a stock based ROM.
