Ok so I'm not sure if any of you know mebecause I don't post much, but I think I posted something about my Dash's screen cracking. I walked out the room and came back and the screen was cracked. Well I replaced it a few months ago and this one turns white on me for no reason like 2 weeks ago. WTFudge? I'm kinda lost and wondering what's goin on. Any ideas? Is there ANYTHING I can do before I buy another screen?
wow seems like i answered a thread just like this yesterday.
is the whole screen white? if you pull the batter and restart the phone is the screen still white?

Yeah I did that already. I did that as soon as it happened to see what would happen. I tapped the screen a few times because it's done this before and after about four or five taps it was normal again. None of that worked. I didn't flash it to the original but I did flash it to The most ecent Energy ROM. This kinda sucks. Lol.
try opening it to see if the screen and the ground is connected all the way.
and do you have your dash overclocked?
Yeah I did that already, but nothing really happened. It kinda sucks because now I'm usin this Typhoon with WM6 that doesn't seem to wanna flash. Lol. Life kinda sucks when it comes to this phone. It's time for the new one. And I think it was overclocked like 1 or 2 ROMs ago.

Hi all. My screen turns on randomly when Im not touchin it. Is this normal? Havent seen a single evo thread with this discussion.
Seems like a battery drainer, although I will admit Ive only noticed it when its chillin on the charger.
actually i think i've seen it discussed before. I'm pretty familiar with my screen waking up when on the charger and it hits somewhere around 70-80% for some reason. It may be the kernel. I'm not sure if it's doing it with the new kernel i recently switched to, I'll have to pay attention while its charging again tomorrow or something.
As long as it only does it on the charger I guess its not a huge deal. Just worries me because my old windows phones screen would always turn on when a program wanted to update anything.

My phone used to not do this, or it took me half a year to notice, but my screen turns on randomly as well. Both when on the charger and when not plugged in. Very odd. As long as you have it set to turn back off it will probably not drain your battery too bad, unless you have it to turn off after 10 minutes or something.
This is kind of annoying - I was about to start a thread but found this one instead.
are you running a different kernel?
I have stock... yeah I know, I'm not fun.
I've noticed this happen to my phone a few times as well, only while charging though. It has always done it. Before I rooted, and I've seen it happen after rooting. I don't know what causes it, but I haven't noticed any adverse side effects from it. I would also like to know what causes it though.
I watched a story on the news a few months back, about people installing spyware on their significan other's phones, to record everything and watch whats going on through the camera! They said to beware if your screen turns on by itself from time to time! << haha, just tryin to scare ya! doubt it's anything to that nature. Just a quirk of sorts I think.
Just have been noticing some off colors that look washed out sometimes on EG22. I haven't noticed this before, however, about two weeks ago I had to get a new phone when mine met concrete, so it could be this screen's issue, or EG22. Not sure.
If youre running a theme, I heard that some of the images could come out brighter but thats a concern for the themers so my guess would be when the phone had its date with the concrete
Posted from my pedo van.
Sometimes this may happen due to the kernel itself, when we get source, im sure someone will put in a voodoo color mod into the kernels to make the colors more natural.
Its not about natural looking colors. Every once in awhile I will hit the power button the lock scfeen will come up and you can tell the display just looks a little off. If you hit the power button again, turn it off, then turn it back on again often times it has fixed itself. Sometimes you have to do it 3 or 4.. It could just be the new phone i got then. Have to keep an eye out and take it in if it starts acting up. I was just wondering if it is just me, or if others have seen the same thing.

I did see this on my phone before my touchscreen crapped out. I hope you aren't in the same boat since your phone is new.

Having a problem with my Dinc screen. The screen colors will suddenly change and look like some retro camera view. At first I noticed it when my batter got low the other day. Now, it's been doing it at random, everyday, no matter the battery life.
Today, it did it and I pushed down on the battery or back of the phone and it stopped. I released the back, and it went back. So I'm thinking its a connectivity issue with the batter and the 4 prongs in the back... if that makes any sense.
I've checked all the connections and there's nothing broken or corroded.
Has anyone had a similar problem or have any recommendations?
I would like to replace it but am waiting for the GNex. Was thinking I could get Verizon to send me a replacement, then get the GNex when it comes out and sell the replacement.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. - Tried to post a screen shot of the regular screen and the messed up screen colors, but the screen shot is normal, even thought what I'm seeing is 'psychedelic' colors.
The girl next to me has a phone that is doing it... Same identical symptoms right to the squeezing the battery part. Ill look into it and see if they'll send some replacements
I just replaced my screen and digitizer, fairly simple and straight forward.
On bottling up the first time with the new screen the phone powered up and was green. Looked like night vision. I powered it down, opened it back up hoping I goofed a connection. There are only two connections to make so I undid and redid. Fired back up the phone and it booted almost normal, it started green but then faded back to normal. On any subsequent display off and back on it will start green and then go normal. The longer the display is off the Longer it takes fr the green to fade away.
So my question is, did I get a bad replacement or did I good something up? I waited 3 weeks for this to come from China and at $150 I don't want to just run out and get another one.
Thoughts?

I have had the exact same thing happening to me. I have tried basically everything on the software side, going back and forth between rom/radio/kernel/bootloader with no luck. Tested the screen with a color tuner and it appears that there are no RED as of the RGB. So i have concluded this to be a faulty screen.
I am planning on doing a second screen replacement, so just hold on and i will post you with an update of how it went. Ordered the screen today, so guessing it will arrive in two weeks time.

The thing with mine is that it turns to normal after 30-40 seconds, as if it has to warm up.

Did you get this green color after a screen replacement? In my case it was a bad screen, so a new replacement did the trick.
This poor phone has been through hell since I got it as a warranty replacement a few weeks ago.
Lost it in a snow bank, got pushed around by a snow plow.. was found, everything worked just a scratch on the screen.. Two weeks ago I dropped it and put a small crack in the screen then a couple days later it fell out of my pocked and completely shattered the display. New screen on the way. Now I see the accelerometer isn't working at all. See attached pic. It registers nothing at all.
I have rebooted, reinstalled my rom (liquidsmooth beta3 which is great btw).. I haven't yet done a full wipe / reload and if at all possible I'd like to avoid it.
I have no idea where to go from here. I don't see sensorservice running, not sure if that's a problem.
Anything I can look at, reconfig, remove that might help kick it back into working?

Damn man. Hold on to that damn thing or get an Otterbox or just opt for a gophone lol. No but seriously you need to buy a bulky case.
First thing that comes to mind is the auto-rotation function.. Is it turned on?
You need to learn how to take care of your things. That's just insane. I agree with WiredPirate!
Yea I've checked the rotation settings.. chrome, maps, and the accelerometer apps all are unresponsive to rotation / tilt.
I'm going to clean wipe / reformat today.
And I've never used a case / whatever on my phones and I've never had a problem. Amazingly right away when I get this one it just started being suicidal.

I'm not serious. Actually looking for information to troubleshoot the accelerometer. not because I don't want to reinstall, but because I don't think that is the only way to fix (if it isn't actually physically broken)
