not sure where the ATT TP2 thread disappeared to, but i couldn't find it so im making a new thread.
On that old thread, their was a reveal of the Fortress, AT&T's version of the Touch Pro 2, with a funky keyboard.
I found something today that *might* suggest they are screwing it up *that* badly.
On Engadget, they show the T-Mobile version of the TP2 here...

They also show it lower on the page, however the 2nd image has the color scheme of the earlier leaked Fortress with the red keyboard, which leads me to believe this 2nd photo might actually BE the fortress.
If you look closely at the red keyboard, you'll see its more like the original TP2 layout, only red.
What do you guys think?
I'm pretty sure the thread went quietly into the dark night since we all managed to beat the topic into a small pile of dust.
To reiterate:
The phone image is nothing more than a mockup.
The specifications next to the image of a four row keyboard SPECIFY a 5 row keyboard.
It was an internal document which is pretty much not subject to analysis since AT&T employees won't recognize the phone even after it's released and in their hands with a sticker telling them "THIS IS THE HTC FORTRESS".
looks like the tmobile touch pro 2 is mess up to look at the buttons under the screen it looks like it pops up making it look cheap
yea the way the T-MO's TP2 looks makes it look like some cheap LG phone. the buttons look too cheap.
it would be nice if AT&T actually followed the specifications set down by HTC, and kept the 5-row offset keyboard config. I don't really mind the red keyboard, I just want the 5-row offset.
i on the other hand kinda bothered by the red keyboard but i think the new layout is pretty cool but i do want them to have the keyboard spacing like the original rather than close like tilt and fuze. we just have to wait for the release or some sneak pic snap shot...either way im most likely gonna buy it.
well, the point of this topic isnt to yank out the dead horse that is if the other pic of the keyboard is real or not, but rather to question if the pic i posted, is the fortress, or the Wing 2. The article stated it was for T-mobile, but the color scheme, and the pic above it suggest otherwise.
the first pic that lyian posted looks like the t-mo version of the TP2. not only because it says t-mobile on the device but because hardware buttons on the front of the device resemble the ones in the pic I posted earlier.
I'm gonna get the phone either way, but like jtoyz2 said, I hope the keyboard is offset and spaced rather than close together like on the tilt and fuze. it just looks so much better spaced out like that!

Look very closely at the image above... The color scheme is the same as the fortress leak below, BUT IT HAS 5 ROWS and they're offset.

lol ur right about the LG thing
Most important to me is:
when will it be available
Hope it start shipping soon !
i got some news from a friend of mine saying that the phone gonna release 6-8 weeks after the Iphone 3g S, because they dont want another similar (touch screen smartphone) to release in the same time frame as the iphone. Most likely sometime in August we should see it but before September for ATT. I cant wait just around the time that im due for a upgrade.
Too bad.
It was forecasted for June.
So more 2 months of wait.
I would buy today.

I think I might keep my options open though. If an Android phone surprisingly comes to ATT before the TP2, I think I might go with that.
Unless someone can convince me otherwise...
I read somewhere that the first android device coming out for AT&T is the lancaster?? I don't know for sure tho. I saw a spread sheet that was similar to what everyone saw when the "fortress" was unveiled, and it had "AT&T at the bottom right corner. but cmon, a 2.8 inch QVGA screen??
I saw an ATT TP2 in the wild
Hey all,
Well I saw an AA&T branded Touch Pro 2 on the weekend. The Guy that has it works for HTC in the USA and it looked exactly the same as the HTC version, (not red) with the AT&T branding on it. He said release wont be until Aug, which falls in line with the delay due to the IPhone 3GS release, he thought AT&T where going to be the last of the USA carries to release.
Just my 2 cents worth

That's great news! Just to clarify, when you say it looked exactly the same as the HTC version, you mean that it had the full 5 row qwerty and not the number pad on the side, right?
Also, did you happen to notice if it had a front facing camera?
Thanks.
I don't think our model will have the front-facing camera on it, since AT&T doesn't support video calling at the moment. but maybe, cos of all the rumors that video calling might become available for the iphone...why not the TP2???
and that's great news that it looks like the HTC branded model!!! +1 on evermore, how did the keyboard look???

Its the TP2. T-mobile thought it would be a good idea to design their own case for the TP2. So you say you have a TP2 for the US...interesting...where did you get it?
I have a T-Mobile USA TP2 aswell, unfortunately since there is no HardSPL available atm there are no roms to flash. I still haven't decided whether the design change was a good choice on T-Mobile's part and makes me wish they tinkered a bit more and added a 3.5mm jack
you both have a USA T-mobile Tp2? wtf, how?

I work for Tmo. I was fortunate enough to aquire a TP2 as well as a myTouch about 3 weeks ago. Im one of the "myTouch Champions" (sales reps selected to own the device before launch to increase excitement about the device)
And i attended a HTC event a couple weeks ago and out of about 50 people there, 5 of us walked out with TP2's. Needless to say i was pretty stoked
Both great devices, but im hoping to get WM 6.5 on the TP2 asap, unless theres anything better floating around out there.
As for the myTouch, i gather that were pretty close to finding a way to root it, so im looking forward to that
For any naysayers...

Nice!
Just wait for HardSPL and then you should see the floodgate open with lots of ROM, including 6.5WM and probably with TouchFlo 2.5.
Any GSM rom should be compatible with the ATT Forteress,T-Mo TP2 and Europe's T7373.
sweet, i cant wait. Does the TP2 need to be "rooted" like the G1? The extent of my knowledge is based on the experience i have with that. Im assuming the TP2 isnt linux based like the G1 so im assuming the whole process is quite different.
That is amazingly cool! Is there any chance you can post a picture of the back of the phone? I'm really curious to see what they've done to the camera/speakerphone side.
Also as a heads up I noticed a couple of people on Ebay selling the TMobile version and am wondering how they got theirs already or if they are scams?
Yeah quite different.
The HardSPL is needed to let you flash any ROM from anyone. Normally you would be restricted to T-Mo's Rom.
I'm not the best to explain everything and frankly I don't fully understand every details but I can point you to some very interesting read that should get you started/prepared for the nice journey ahead =)

By the way, have there been any reviews detailing the differences between the European and TMobile versions? Did the TMobile version get extra/different features and/or buttons? Did it get the headphone jack?

here ya go
as far as the camera and speakerphone, both are good, i wish they would have gone for a 5MP at least tho. 3.2 is getting kind of antiquated.
The speakerphone as an awesome feature, while on a call when you place the phone down, speaker facing up, it automatically goes to speakerphone, and turns off when you pick it back up, very cool!
also it locks the screen when you place the phone to your ear, and unlocks it as you pull it away.
theres a lot of little neat features they threw in there, not sure if this is old news or not, im more of an android guy. for now...
as for the ebay listings, who knows, when i got mine, i had to sign a letter agreeing that i wouldnt sell it, or let anyone else have it. if any of those listings are from tmo reps, they need to watch their ass, tmo is tracking the IMEI's of these and knows who has them. im not looking for that kind of trouble, and i like my job.

im not familiar with the Euro version but the US version has the following buttons; 4 on the front (talk, home, back, end), volume up and down, speakerphone mute on the back, and power on the top. still no 3.5, just mini usb, but thats nothing those handy dandy power/3.5 adapters can fix
Is that still running WM 6.1, or does it have 6.5? Some Verizon person on Engadget said the Verizon test units were running 6.1 and didn't have a 3.5mm jack, but the final production versions would have 6.5 and a 3.5mm jack so maybe the t-mobile models will be similar (retail model will have 3.5, maybe). Of course, maybe not...
It's running 6.1 for sure.
First HTC with winmo 6.5 will be the Tachi.
MS stated that if a phone has the windows button, it will get 6.5 upgrade.
Anyway nothing a cooked ROM can't fix.
Edit: Oh and forget about 3.5mm on this one. So far only CDMA device and maybe one Australian Carier will have 3.5mm
I too have the T-mobile TP2
It currently runs on Windows Mobile 6.1...how long or what is the process of getting the HardSPL??

Yeah but apparently prototype Verizon units don't have the 3.5mm either, but the final production ones will (according to all current rumors) so that can definitely change.
yes its on 6.1. i asked the HTC rep about 6.5 and he told me ultimately it will be up to tmo whether a update of 6.5 will be pushed to the handsets after launch. and from what he alluded to, tmo us will more than likely be getting a different device with 6.5 sometime before or around the end of the year.
it does not have a 3.5, and will not have a 3.5, the model i have is the final production model. it came in the tmo branded packaging and all so im sure they wont be changing anything.

Same here. All I know is that we have pictures of the phone for every other provider EXCEPT ATT. Considering how pics get released of basically every phone on every provider way before the phone is released, I don't see how even September is possible at this point.
Although I would love for the phone to come out tomorrow, i just don't see it happening soon and it seems ATT will be the last of the providers to release it.

seriously...
if that's the case, then AT&T is the BEST keeper of secrets ever. lol.
seriously tho, I really wish we had some sort of picture or SOMETHING to keep us going until the actual release. BESIDES that old mockup and the fact that it passed the FCC a while back.
i remember the fuze came out exactly 3 months after fcc approval...the only picture we haveof that was from a personal user that bought the unit for 700 so he claim...n we did not see any other pic until a week or two before it was release
so hopefully we see the touch pro 2 fortress august 24th or september 4th...i remember on one of the thread some guy actually seen a touch pro 2 with att tatted on the top but he didnt take a picturedamn al we need is a picture it can release in oct i just want a picture..
How many more of these Fortress release threads are we gonna have to suffer through? At this point I won't believe anything without solid proof. (pics, pics of documents)
I don't remember the release of the Tilt or Fuze being this shrouded in secrecy. I'm really starting to get worried...
and you had to make a whole another thread for this? sigh
topaz rom has been leaked so we know atleast that is coming out...waiting for rhodium rom to leak then we should be good
Would it be too much to ask AT&T, since they've taken their time while T-mobile (AUG 12), Sprint (SEP 3), and Verizon ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFDwqvWbogw ), to make this thing worth the wait. I know it's a CDMA phone, but that Verizon phone is exactly how I wish AT&T's could look. But we all know, that is unlikely. im sure the ATT exterior design will be just like the europe version maybe different material but design and button front and back should be the same...only thing will change is the keyboard im sure will be different...Topaz will look exactly the same as Europe though thanks to no keyboard...we will see that sometime end of this year or early next...6.5 pre loaded on their...i wonder if ATT want to wait and pre load Touch Pro 2 with 6.5 and Manila 2.5 that be worth the wait...
i jusyt played with the Tmobile version (its out on 12th), and boy is it ugly compared to the HTC version. A nasty bronze, and it has nasty silvery buttons. They also have an inferior version of touchflo, with the standard WM6 menu on start. and no 3.5mm jack. very dissappointing. Makes me think twice about getitng it.

wow great find!! yea I doubt that it could be the Warhawk...every source I've read says the TP2 will hit AT&T before the TD2. I HOPE HOPE HOPE it's the TP2!!!
I'm not about to start holding my breath after hearing so many different release dates, no use in getting your hopes up just to be let down. I honestly think that Att is trying to keep their beloved new "iPhone 3Gs" in the lime-light for as long as possible, they don't want any other device stealing the show away from their pride and joy. However, a Sept. release would be great, much better than the rumored Oct. release. Even if it isn't released in Sept. I'd atleast want some hard evidence as to what the Fortress will actually look like so I can decide whether or not to wait another month or just jump ship.

I've been reading that there are two different screens being used. One from epson, and one from nova. What are the differences between these screens. Are they both still 16 bit? Is the brightness different? Any other differences?
Is there any way to tell which screen you are getting before you buy? Are evo's still being made with both screens?
Not sure anyone knows the answers to those questions. I have a revision 0003 with a nova screen, and before this fps fix business came up I was happy with the look. The touch input lag concerns me more than the 30 fps thing right now.
how do you check your hardware revision?
Go to settings -> About phone -> Hardware Information, under Hardware Version
0002 = Novatel
0003 = Could be either, you have to run and pipe some log to find out which one you have.

Too bad. The touch lag and 16 bit screen are what are making me lean towards the galaxy s right now. I'm waiting to see if either the htc evo gets better by the time the galaxy comes to sprint (in some form) or the galaxy shows up with big problems making the evo relatively better. Hopefully the epson screen will fix at least the lag. 18 bits would put me over the edge.
I have a 002, im very curious on what the differences on the screen's are.
Nobody really knows except for the epson 30fps limit has been fixed and the novak not.
People are reporting the novak has a purplish tint to it. the side by side pic it looks pretty obvious but YMMV..
the biggest issue I have with the whole thing is from the users who have applied the 30fps fix they all say input lag is gone and its very noticeable!
Maybe at some point the issue will be fixed for the EVO's with novak screens but I'm not sure I am willing to bet being locked into a phone and carrier for 2 years.

There is still a week and a half to exchange your phone. Do you know how LONG that is in XDA-time? We have had our phones for 2 and a half weeks (granted we had root before release but still) and look at what all has been accomplished.
Personally I reloaded my sense (on a 002 nova) and I found my color to be in between the two (not as "purple" as the first and not as "black" as the second). I got caught up in the "purple vs true black" debate, but I'm finding that it really isn't as much of an issue to me.

Everyone keeps saying this but I don't think it's true. You have a week and half to RETURN the phone (assuming you bought on launch day). You have nearly a year to exchange the phone for any kind of defect because of the warranty.

I believe after the 30 days you get a refurbished phone whereas if you do it within the 30 days you can get a brand new replacement. YMMV, but I know with the relationship I have with my Sprint store theres a good chance I could get a brand new replacement even after my 30 days...

For those of you who are interested, here is a picture of novatec vs epson. I happened to get a 002 with novatec and my brother got a 003 with epson. The left one is mine and the right one is his. These phones were taken in the dark with the same screen brightness and same wallpaper. You can see that with the novatec screens, the color has a purple hue to it. The background is supposed to be black, but you can clearly see it looks kind of purple.

Agreed, but I don't know that all Nova panels have that hue. I have an 03 with the Nova panel and it definitely does *not* look like that.
I would just say I believe there will be a 30fps fix for the Nova panel. The only reason the Epson was first is because that's what the Developer had.
Also, ever panel tends to have their own advantages and disadvantages. I'd be very surprised if the Epson panel is the "ultimate" panel. There are probably tradeoff's to both panels ... we just haven't recognized them yet.
I do believe the Epson panel in that picture looks to have problems with the blacks looking a little grayer and the whites look a little white-washed, but that could simply be due to the brightness.
Who knows...maybe the 0004 revision will have the best panel of all. ;-)
Honestly I just want my input lag gone..I don't care about the colors really mine seems fine..
Part of me is just like hey if I am going to wait around for a complete fix then I might as well wait for the next phone that doesn't have it to begin with.

Right there with you, but it's hard to think of having a phone with a smaller screen now.

Well the 30fps fix also seemed to fix the input lag.
I understand why you might want to jump ship for a different phone. If I didn't love everything else about the EVO (and know that the issues I have are fixable), I would probably be in the same boat. Having said that, it seems like every device has their own issues. Granted the HTC devices I purchase always seem to always have a few more for some reason...

It might just be the picture or my monitor but the first time I looked at this one I thought the left EVO looked better than the right. Only later I found out everyone is saying the one of the left has the problems.
Everyone keeps saying this but I don't think it's true. You have a week and half to RETURN the phone (assuming you bought on launch day). You have nearly a year to exchange the phone for any kind of defect because of the warranty.

warranty replacemetn and 1 month replace big difference. one month, u can leave sprint which really gives yous bargaining power. onlye 1 month returns can be trusted.

Aesthetics and responsiveness go a long way for me. It's hard to play games with a 200 or more touch delay.

Do I wait? or switch to AT&T now and get the Focus.....ugh
The Focus is definitely the better handset, so I would jump ship if it's that urgent. There are rumors that the Omnia7 will become available on CDMA though, in which case that's even better (in terms of looks/feel) than the Focus.

well as far as looks go, I actually like the focus better, the Omnia 7 is a little too square for me. But the Focus has a card slot (I know it isn't technically supported) whereas the Omnia doesn't. Though it would be the first NON-Omnia I have owned in years if I bought the Focus.
Where did you find the rumor of Omnia 7 to CDMA ?
Yeah it's up to you really. The nice thing about wp7 is it comes down to hardware. Which hardware will suit you more? Do you like physical keyboards? I have the LG Quantum, and to be honest, I never use the physical keyboard. It's nice to have if you have to be especially precise, but it's just never needed. Especially with the hardcase/skin I got for it, the sliding mechanism now is -very- stiff (that's what she said), but that's a bonus to me.
HOWEVER, the Focus is a Samsung phone. So expect internal memory to disappear, screen to become damaged, and have problems with the updates. I'd go with the Trophy personally, ony cause of that.
Trophy (for the) Wife
While I have been using Samsung Focus for my Enterprise Phone, I actually do plan on Getting my Wife the Trophy when it comes out on Verizon.
I've played with both and the Samsung is absolutely the better Phone from a hardware standpoint (AMOLED is the only way to go for small displays now and the expandable storage was a big deal for me as well) but from a Useability standpoint both are running the same excellent UI and O/S.
However Verizon has better reception for both voice and data in our region and we have several phones on a family plan so it will be easier to just upgrade her to the Trophy when it comes out.
At that point hopefully I can keep her from swiping my Focus to play xBox Live Games...

yeah where I am (NJ) Verizon and AT&T are pretty comparable as far as signal and such go. And I really like the SAMOLED and expandable storage option....but part of me wants to see if the Omnia 7 is coming to Verizon, but at the same time AT&T is going to be slightly cheaper for me...ugh decisions, decisions.

In that case, go with the Focus - it won't disappoint in the slightest. Personally I prefer the O7 in terms of look (and definitely feel) but as you say the Focus has the SD slot which I would have loved.

i hope verizon gets more than one wp7 at launch i have the touch pro 2 now and my screen is cracked, battery life is terrible and its on its last legs, i really dont like all touch screen phones i prefer the slide out physical qwerty but i just might be desperate to to get the this phone because i desperately need a upgrade
Samsung Focus for sure. Very good battery life. Absolutely amazing pictures. NAND memory. Excellent screen. Super this.
Best WP7 device by leaps and bounds IMO. Have one off contract, but wish Sprint had something similar. Will likely get the Arrive, despite hating the form factor. I would jump ship to AT&T for the Focus, but my phone bill would nearly double.

I feel your pain, My display is cracked too...I wish it cracked at the bottom of the display, it might be more usable for email (hard to read text sometimes toward the top).
I'm in the same boat with WP7, I'm not sure if I can hold out longer myself...but, I would love a physical keyboard....
decided to stick it out and wait on the Trophy...and hope they annouce the omnia 7 as well. Between the cancellation fee and the price of the phone and my work discount not being as big on AT&T, it just makes more sense to wait. Though the Focus is really the phone I want, I can't justify $350 to switch carriers. I just wish my contract ended sooner than December...
That's how I felt about switching. My contract is also up in December. However I decided that if I could get an inbetween phone for less than 200 I would. I ended up getting a Surround on Craigslist for $180. I'll just keep this till my contract runs out then upgrade to a phone I really want.
That being said however, I love my Surround. Great phone and 10x better than my old Tilt 2.

Yep, it was shown with the 16gb on the Microsoft Employee promo, so it has been assumed that the Verizon version will have the 16gb MicroSD in it.
If it does have the HTC SLCD display like some people are claiming, it might be a worthy phone, as engadget did a compare with the AMOLED display and said they were very close to each other. SLCD was a little poorer in the battery life area but, not that bad.
http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/13/spot-the-difference-htc-desires-slcd-versus-amoled/
Only downfall I can see besides no QWERTY keyboard is a 1300mah battery, other WP7 models are giving a 1500+. It could be a major impact on batter life depending on your uses. Just hope it has the FM radio, like claimed but, Verizon is known for cutting it out of phones.
I've been out of a contract for a while, I might get this but, I really wanted a WP7 device with a keyboard, I guess it all depends on what is given at the press release.
Here's the MS image showing the 16gb on it... (Source: Engadget/Winrumors)

Well this is just my $.02 but I think you'll find that you won't miss the physical QWERTY. One of the things I happiest with on my focus is how well the WP7 softkeybord works.

I've heard the WP7 on screen keyboard is great but, I have always had issues with onscreen keyboards due to my larger thumbs, so it could be a problem but, I can't try till I get one.
Hi guys, another question here.
One of my worries is that it's hard to find a Black Onyx Note 7. I had to go through lots of troubles to get mine. My phone works perfectly and they want me now to exchange it. So it's stressful. I am like "Dammt, they gonna force me to another color". (in my country the gold and silver were mostly available. You had to order the black and wait 1 week to get it).
So when replacing your Note 7, what is their policy about the Color of the Phone?
- Do they force you to get only an available Color? Like: "Sorry we dont have it in black so it's gold only. Deal with it!".
- Do they exchange only with the same color? Like: "You're phone is black so you can get a black phone only!".
- Or is it total Chaos? Like: "Dude, I will check if there's a black one. If not you may get another color. Or wait a few weeks for the black one... Dunno, don't care"...
- Or is it Customer Friendly? Like: "Hi dude. Please enjoy this cocktail and warm towel while we bring you your new replacement Note 7... What color would you prefer btw?"
Tnx for answers!
They forced me to have the same colour that I already had (Black).
I wanted Blue. They said no.
I had blue and switched at the chrome color... Verizon store authorized the swap out... they said that there were replacing the phones with whatever color they had available... they just happened to have a bunch of silver ones so I wanted that instead of the blue
Sounds like yet again an inconsistent recall process. Depending on where or how you actually get to receive a replacement N7. The recall process should have been consistent and not this clustered mess it is. As I've said for a while now, there will likely be some big class-action lawsuits over this discombobulated process.
In terms of if you purchased it straight from Samsung. I believe it goes based off your IMEI. So if your IMEI matches blue note 7, it's blue. I'm sure that carriers will give you the option to choose whatever color is available
With T-Mobile when I went in I was told that I need to do a like color swap. (Had loaner phones at the time) If they did not have the color the color they could do a warranty replacement order and have it within 24-72 hours. I went in and they said they only had the blue, which was good for my wife, I really wanted my Note 7 back and they told me they would see what they could do. They came back out and said there was one black mixed in with the blues so we were able to get them both taken care of. They did have other people come in and were allowing them to switch to the blue if they pressed the issue.
Verizon asked me what color I wanted, I got the same but didn't think to try and get a different one. They held one for me and there were none left when I got there, so I would imagine if I asked for Blue but brought a black Note they would have given me the Blue.
BB wanted to keep the same colors, but would switch to another if they had them in stock. I got another black phone and my girl got another blue phone so we both happy.
Sent from my SM-N930P using Tapatalk
I have the golden one, looks fine to me, but I really wanted the silver one, lets see if my carrier is willing to change color with this recall, if not, i would gladly accept a golden one, but, by no means a black one, as all my phones have been black
I called my local Tmobile store the day before the official recall release. The rep indicated that they had just recieved a shipment but all of them were blue. They said I could come in and swap for a blue or wait until the next day when they were expecting a shipment of other colors.
When I first got my note I saw the blue one on display and I asked for the blue one but the Tmobile rep said they were very rare and I went with the silver which looked awesome too.
I didn't want to risk it so I went in and exchanged it for the blue one with no problems. I can't complain, I ended up with the color I wanted in the first place, I got it a day early and between the loaner and my replacement, I ended up with 2 SD cards and a Gear VR. Plus I got to play with the S6 edge for a week (I switched from Apple).
I could complain about the whole situation but I was very well compensated for all my trouble. Plus I love the phone and will never go back to Apple which I swore I would never leave.
What seemed to be a bad experience turned out for the best in the end for me. Darn, I even found a refurbished tmobile gear S2 for a hundred bucks and love it 100 times better than my apple watch or Android Wear watch! Not bad for 100 bucks and a bunch of free stuff from my exchanges. I'm one happy camper Samsung!
Yes it's been a cluster and yes I had to wait in line at Tmobile and yes I had to set up the loaner and then ship it back, but in the end the rewards were worth a little bit of my precious time and frustration.
T-MO Florida
Allowed me to change colors. But I have also been through 4 phones (3 pre hand grenade batch) and then my 4th I went back to coral blue. which is post explosion batch. I think it depends on 1. carrier and 2. The rep...
AT&T San Diego
I was able to swap my silver one for a black one when I traded it in. Wanted the Black originally, so I was thrilled.

This was my experience at the AT&T retail store. That's why I got there early right when the store opened, and they had just received their shipments of new Note 7s.
I originally has silver. All they had in stock was blue. I wanted this color originally anyways so I picked it up
Switched color
Purchased at Costco in So. Cal. Returned the two silvers I originally got and got one silver and one black (which is what I originally wanted but they ran out). It probably depends on the vendor and their stock. If they are jerks they may not give you a different option.
Good Luck

I am starting to have the same tendencies. I like the black Note 7 but, somehow the silver one seems legit.
I opted for the black one for increased general contrast when you stare at the screen, (not being disturbed by metallic reflections especially during the day), and the color of course is a classy, discrete.
But the silver one has the "gadget" look, the metallic "i am a pc" attitude of the color, and the sides metallic belt look way better.
