Hey everyone,
I've been told by a few people they they cant get up to 12 hours or 13 hours with good use on their Verizon Galaxy Nexus with the stock battery but with heavy use, I am only able to get 13 hours from my 3800 MAH battery..
Maybe rooting the phone causes more battery drain?
Maybe the weak Antenna is causing the battery to drain from data pulling?
Maybe the battery isn't really 3800 MAH?
Maybe I need to add a karnel and switch the rom?
Currently running 4.0.4 IMM76D, Baseband I515.10 VFA02/ I515.FA02, Kernel 3.0.8-g034fec9
what rom are some of you running and Kernel? whcih radio? Again, I have the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Please hit me up

This is a strong possibility. Third-party batteries are always hit or miss.
Which one did you buy?

seidioonline ... They seem legit and I have purchased from them before... but even still, i wonder
Define 13hrs please...
13hrs of standby - then yeah something is really wrong
but I would imagine 13 hours of streaming video is amazing capacity
I get 2.5hrs to 3 hours of screen on (gaming, video streaming etc) + 1 hour worth of calls- standard battery.
usually at 13 hours am down to 25ish+ percent. and I have gotten as high as 3.5hrs of screen on.

Well it is watching videos and using twitter but i turn off data sync.. frequent fetching updates by stuff I don't use, disable gps, bluetooth and all that little stuff.. But maybe that 13.5 hours is good .. i get baffled when people tell me that they get that on a standard battery and i have Twice a standard battery lol
Post screenshots or no one can help.
My battery is wacky. It's very dependent on where I am (what cells are in the area and what coverage I have).
When Verizon is doing well I get maybe 30-40% usage in 12+ hours..
When Verizon is not so good I'll need to plugin with 12 hours..
The interesting is I've had 4g on for the past week and I only connecting for a few minutes on my drive home. I'll get a good 16+ hours till 10-20% on most days.
I have the samsung extended battery.
Guys im sorry but i have rushed a few replies to get the 10 posts but can you please not take this down i need to know if this is legit as my money back only lasts a certain amount
Ok so i bought a lg g3 from ebay, Its legit i have tested with antutu officer but it can get really hot and battery drains very quickly when watching movies and games.
My screen usage is always above 60% but i have screen on 30 seconds and 0% bright. My phone also says that i have used like 1000 mah at 50% but it should say 1500 mah.
I have a d851 and marshmallow and use my phone only with wifi no gps/nfc i also dont have background apps
My phone gets 188 mins on gfxbench

Why should it say 1500 mah? The screen is not the only thing that drains the battery, you know that, right?
Running any benchmark will cause many battery drain. Don't do that. And that app you have to see the cpu temperature, 42º is not high for CPU. For battery it is.

What help? Get a new battery or go away from Snapdragon devices. And, the screen usage is about right, because i don't know if you know, but the screen you are staring at is 1440x2560, or 2K, which is an insane resolution, and crammed in a 5.5 inch display at 538 ppi, it will consume A LOT. And the battery is just 3AH, which seemed much, but compared to the S5, with a 1080p display and a 2.6AH battery, the G3 has the worst SOT out of the 2014 flagship lineup.

The 2K screen doesn't consume that much power. There are mods which allow you to lower the resolution, but you won't see much or any increase in battery life or performance (maybe in games it's going to be most noticeable).

Sounds like a bad battery. Quite possibly a reason why the other person decided to sell it in the first place. How old is the device that you purchases?
You can get an original replacement battery online for a few dollars. Just make sure you use a reputable vendor, like LG's official website.

Its brand new thats why i'm worried and i have downloaded a few battery checking apps and they say battery health is good.
But when i add up usage it totals lower then the battery capacity, they total up to 1000mah at 50%, when it should be 1500mah
Do you have any benchmarks i can try so i can see if its working right or its just me.

Oh so it's a brand new LG? How many hours of screen usage are you getting, what usage (web browsing, checking email or playing games?) and with what period of idle time.
Don't trust the numbers in the battery stats, especially in a new ROM. They are supposed to get better over time but I've found them to be wildly inaccurate even on months old ROM. I haven't really found an application you can benchmark accurately with.
But you compare with other (real) results on the foruns and rather you get the hang of what's the normal usage you should be getting out of a good battery.
Did you make a day without running any benchmark apps? What is your SOT? Standby time? Do you have location, wifi, bluetooth,NFC,mobile data on?
All of this matters. You shouldn't start right away with "I have problems with my battery" if you are running benchmark apps. Benchmark apps drains battery!
Wait a few days without running that apps and see how it manages. Another thing. The battery stats, the mah usage, not all of the things appears in the default android battery stats. And another thing, the battery value (the percentage of the battery), it is an approximation. Sometimes it could go up without charging, it is because it detected that has a wrong value. You could try charge your phone to 100%, usage it normally until 0%, until it turns off. Then charge it again to 100% and use it normally (don't discharge to 0% to many times, it just hurts the battery).

Streamed from the internet with at least 1h10 SOT, that is not bad. That is almost 4 hours SOT. If you have 1h12 minutes SOT, that is 4 hours. It is good.

Oh yeah, considering you even streamed the movie, it's signs of a good new and healthy battery. 3 hours of SoT with internet browsing is quite the norm, and 4 hours is on the up side.
I can barely get to 2 hours of SoT with my now aging battery.

It's not about the software side of things, it's about that my battery is old now, and that's why happens to old batteries, the just deteriorate.
Thankfully the LG G3 has an easily replaceable battery, and I have a replacement waiting for me. Not getting a phone on which you can't remove the battery..
And never found those apps like Greenify to really work, at least in the last few years of Android. The OS seems to be doing just of a good a job and I see no improvement in battery life. Maybe they help in cases with poorly written apps that are draining your battery in the background, but I don't see why would you use such a software in the first place.

Hey everyone,
The battery life for stock on this device is superb. People love to see how much they can get it out of it. Good for you. I've been there.
If you want to maintain higher battery capacity over time, and reduce the chance of your battery from failing, then read on...
I stumbled across an app on XDA called Battery Charge Limiter (https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/root-battery-charge-limit-t3557002) and wanted to bring it up on here.
In short, it lets you limit the max % your device will charge to. This in effect saves cells in your battery and prolongs its life. This is proven. There are several reasons for this, but I'm not going to go into it. If you want, you can look into it at Battery University (the link is in the OP for the app).
MY EXPERIENCE
I have been using the app for about a week now, and I have had no problems with it. The default settings work perfectly with the Le Pro 3.
HOWEVER, if you are running stock you must allow the app to autorun and protect it from cleanup in the "Phone Manager". Otherwise you will need to manually start the app when you charge your device.
I have my device charge limited to 80%. I am easily getting a full day out of that charge (browsing, calls, SMS, and C.A.T.S gaming), usually charging once I hit around 25-40%.
I'm sure some of you will find this helpful. Feel free to click thanks so I feel good about myself :victory:
Cheers! :good:
I usually look for evidence like battery usage screenshot? A full-day usage should show something like 7-8 hours SOT with at least 2000mAh consumption.
It would also be better to charge the phone with a normal charger if you want the battery to last.
Normal charge when you are in no rush and the phone is sitting idle, Quick charge when its needed.
Personally, I couldn't be bothered as I change my phone every 8-10 months. Now waiting for Oneplus 5.

I'll take a look at my battery usage. However, I'm definitely not looking at the screen for 7-8 hours before I charge again. If you typically spend that much time on your phone (before charging again) then you'll probably need to fully charge it and drain it almost empty. If that is the case, then what I'm suggesting to do here is not for you.
It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the OnePlus 8 before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Pretty impressed with battery life. And that was with heavy usage : installation of a lot of apps/mods, downloads through games, videos (especially 1h under direct sunlight).
I know it's not representative of a normal day because of the quarantine but I found it really good.
Can anyone else post screenshots? In the YouTube reviews they indicate very different battery consumption among them. 5:30 some, others 8:30
Will post more screenshots after more usage...

Battery life and charging cycle question
Hey Buddy,
May I ask how do you charge your OnePlus 8 phone? All the way to 100% or less? Do you keep it charging on even if its at 100?
Slightly over 4 hours of SOT with 50% battery left.
Impressive and slightly better than what I was getting on my 8 Pro.

It depends on which apps you have installed and how you use them. Therefore, results will vary from person to person. To give you some guidelines, this is what I do:
I use GPS and location services sparingly instead of leaving them on
Google app and Google Assistant are disabled, along with some Google analytics
I use a Chromium-based web browser, such as Kiwi instead of Chrome itself
I debloat unused apps that would otherwise just sit there, wasting space
I typically charge the phone to full while it's off and uninterrupted
Touchboost is disabled
Hope that helps.

Thanks a lot. I took some of your tips without impacting what I expect from the phone and it made quite a difference. I had too many apps that I was simply not using. And some applications that were polling my location too much for no reason. I'm also using dark mode as I'm actually enjoying it. I almost didn't change anything but it really shows that if you do some minor tweaks and remove aps you're not using you end up with enough battery to last a full day comfortably.
Really surprised. Attaching my new SOT.
This was a more demanding usage of the phone than my previous post but surprisingly I got 30% more battery then before.
And this while playing COD for almost half an hour.:victory:

SoT is just pefect. And don't worry it's the same everywhere, look :
I think something wrong is going on,poor SOT,never had I pass 5.5 hours of SOT.
Not the longest SOT but I can easily stay multiple days on one charge when using my phone 2-3 hours a day. The flat parts in the plot are the nights when my phone was on airplane mode.
I also had some pretty good experiences while using my phone as a hotspot. This used to drain the batteries of my previous phones quickly but with the OP8 I can easily share connection 2-3 hours and still have the battery last me at least for the day. (Not included in the screenshot)
One plus 8
I get abt 10 hrs
I get abt 10 hrs
My last post was quite poor in infos so I'll detail more this time. Using it one day, you can have up to 10h SoT, using it throughout the days will give you around 8 hours SoT.
I've done two things: used my phone for two days of normal use (at home, playing videogames for about 2h a day because I had no friends to hang out with :crying and got three days of lite use (1h gaming per day or less because I had friends this time :victory, 7h SoT
To sum up: using it over the days will reduce SoT, but overall the battery is really good
Here some pics :
Double post
I dont know if it is normal, or not. But forexample, i chatge phone OP8 full, and i use it, lets say until 50% of battery, then i connect phone to PC to transfer some files. and if i check after battery it said that it is full charged 5 min before, and it stay 50%
Hi to all F3 owners hope your enjoying your new toy?
Only query / disappointment for me so far is that battery life is nowhere near as good on Fold 3 as it was with Fold 2.
1.5 hours light usage today and I am down to 58% - mostly indoors and on WiFi
I expected the latest Snapdragon 888 to have as good of not better power management than last year's CPU.
What is other F3 owner's experience?
WhatsApp has been running for 25 mins and eaten ~30%? You have something deeper going on there it looks like.
Digital wellbeing is a battery eating feature itself. Turn it off and you will get more battery time.

A completely different list of apps with top battery usage is shown with the 2 screen shots...hmmm
This happens with every release of every new phone. It always takes a few days for it to settle as it's downloading apps, settings, updates, etc. It's WAY too early to compare battery life. Give it a week.
Give it time to take a calibration and you to stop using your device not in the muscle memory you and the phone will develop.
Then they'll push a firmware upgrade that destroys all that hard work you and your new fold put in getting to know one another.
See Buds+ battery stat.
Only paired them with phone 2 hours ago to so recording 10 hours of background battery usage is quite an achievement
I reckon the battery usage stats are unreliable on my Fold3 ...
Estimated 15 hours on a full charge..... Spectacularly BAD if accurate long term
