QuickGPS not updating on activsync connection.. - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Hello all,
This could be ROM related, but I could not find any solution in the searches I've made. I am finding that QuickGPS is not updating automatically upon connection with activsync...when set to do so.
I would assume that the fix is in the registry? Perhaps someone else has had this issue and found a solution?
Looking forward to trying anything simple, before I update the ROM....
Thanks

facing same problem & couldn't find a solution
hope to find suitable fix

i THINK u need internet connection to be active on your computer 1st

If your in AS mode and connected to Internet through the PC then you can do it Manually by going to the Program and Taping on it,
If someone has an Automatic solution once you're connected to AS & PC i would like to hear about it, maybe the same solution could happen for Automatic Weather update??

Just to clarify the problem:
The PC is connected to Internet, and my HD is connected through ActivSync.
I have Internet connection using Opera & can surf websites normally using it.
BUT cannot surf using Internet Explorer , and also can not update QuickGPS manually (when click Download, I got the message "Connection Failed. Pls try again later"
Thanks if anyone can help.

Interestingly enough my issue is different.....
I can download the data when I click the "Download" button...no problem
HOWEVER, the minor issue is that it is not automatically updating and downloading on connection with Activsync.....as it is supposed to do
I think if you not able to download any updated data (at all) then you have a more serious problem. Sometimes their server is down and getting the data does not work

1.40.00 Asian WWE O2 ROM GPRS Glitch

I found a glitch I've been trying to work around. I use an XDA IIs from O2 with the current Asian WWE O2 ROM in English ;-). Well if I connect to GPRS and use the internet for whatever amount of time I need it for, and disconnect, connect again, and disconnect, it will eventually freeze up the connection when I try to connect again. Either way after like 3 GPRS usages I must softreset in order to connect to GPRS, anyone have this same problem? I would like WM5 but I've upgrade and downgraded 4 times, its just not for my phone, its too slow even with overclocking.
i had the same problem~
and found this as the solution from somewhere in the search

Here is a step by step instruction:
1. Download the older version of caller-id from:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/CAB_Files/Caller ID/IA_CallerID_1.20_WWE.CAB
and transfer it over to your device. Any directory is OK. I used ActiveSync to put it into the My Documents folder.
2. Remove the file IA_CD-Startup.exe from \Windows\Startup on your device.
3. Rename iacontacts.dll to something else (e.g. old-iacontacts.dll). This file is in the \Windows directory of your device but is hidden. However you can rename it using your PC. Open Windows explorer, and navigate to Mobile Device>My PocketPC>Windows.
4. Rename displayCID.dll to something else (e.g. old-displayCID.dll). Access it via your PC the same as for the previous step.
5. Soft reset
6. Run the CAB file on the device - just tap on it.
7. Soft reset.
That should do it.

Hi there,
I posted a problem today that doesn't sound quite like the one above.. but maybe it is... please read my post (don't want to make a mess by posting here too) and let me know if you think the caller id could the issue.
Thanks.

Hi there,
following my reply on the other thread, I found this one & followed the instructions. Since then I can always connect & disconnect GPRS and never need to use flight mode to re-activate GPRS

So far... soooo good. Strange that caller id would cause the issue. I also downloaded a "Keep your GPRS connection alive" app from another posting. That may be helping as well. Either way, no headaches thus far.
Thanks!

Cant connect to internet after updating to new ROM

Hi all;
I updated to new ROM from PDAMOBIZ a few days before. It works fine. But when I tried to download QUICKGPS data via activesync and it cannot connect. And I also tried internet explorer. But it also doesnt work either.I did hard and soft resets with no effect. The contacts and appoinments get sync'd.So active sync works. Is there any settings to connect Internet explorer or quickgps via activesync?May be tht cud be the problem.
Thnx to all

Weather will only update via activesync

Okay, I have tried a good 6 different roms, and for some really strange reason no matter what rom I use, from full manila to standard 6.1, using the sdkcerts update or not, my weather will only update via activesync. When I update and I'm not tethered to my usb cable, weather will connect to media net without an issue, but then will come back saying it can not update with the city I have listed. I have the correct information, because again, it will update via activesync. I'm not sure what the issue is because it follows with any rom I have tried. Does anyone know what might cause this? I can access the web, youtube, anything via media net 3g/gprs without an issue, so it's not the connectivity on my hermes. I'm currently on Tia's manila 2D 20954 rom. Thanks!!

USB to PC setting problems

It's been some days since I can't sync my dash using ActiveSync. It won't recognize the device.
I've been trying to change the advanced networking setting in the USB to PC menu, but I can't open it.
There is an error that says: "The settings could not be opened".
I want to avoid the hard-reset. Any ideas on how to access the connections menu to restore the syncing functionality?
Are you using windows xp or windows vista?
I've tried both of them, and none works. I've also read some reports that this has happened before, but didn't find a solution for it.
I'm hoping someone has a solution since a hard-reset is such a pain in the as*. I haven't upgraded rose roms just because the time invested in my current setup is way too much.
Simple fix just dont download Active Sync your missing something else that needs to install the Usb Drivers for your phone to??? You need to download the Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center.mspx This was the easiest way to solve my problems.

If that was the problem... but as I said I can't open the USP to PC settings page no matter what, and that's the first thing I'd like to get working.

Sounds like a hard-reset moment if you can't open USB to PC, then there could be other issues anyway... Bite the bullet hard-reset be up and running in no time and one step closer to working out what the issue is or it will be solved.
