Dear Tai & Josh are we expecting using the XBMOD Manilla 3D - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

are we expecting using the XBMOD Manilla 3D in your cooked ROM
as they are using it with The Diamond and HD as well as Rhodium
They are look beautifull

I don't believe we have enough ram in the Hermes to support manilla3D

Thats VGA and Hermies is QVGA so i doubt that will ever happen besides even the ported QVGA 3D manilla doesn't work on the Hermies.

but last time I read on Kaiser thread that HTC also does not release a 3D driver for Kaiser, that's why TF3D does not really working smooth in Kaiser too.

Hi Dude,
Yesterday i have tried to add XBMod Manila 3D, it don't work...can't read all the files. I have changed a lot of files in XML, Provxml and pgn and many things but no result. So, i gave up and never try again. It's not posible to get the drive 3D running.

isnt it only for htc touch diamond?
It isn't out yet. The 3d Touchflo Interface debuts with the HTC Diamond. Should be out by June/July.
I forgot to mention that the 3d Touchflo Interface demands better hardware and memory than most of the devices any of us has currently. The chances that it will run smoothly with our devices are very slim.
I think its a little sluggish on Touch Diamond itseld from what Ive heard from some of those who attended the press event.
Imagining it on Artemis could only be a joke.. It requires a GPU. And it also looks like this application has a lot of locks preventing cookers from porting. But still XDA-dev has much better hackers to overcome those. Lets wait for the devices on the market first.
Regards,
Carty..
here is a couple of words...i'd like to have 3d,but i suppose its not possible
However, a TouchFLO 3D upgrade for current HTC Touch smartphones (like the Touch, Touch Dual or Touch Cruise) isn't planned due to increased and changed hardware requirements.

if this was called HTC manila when it was in the development stage then i hav a ver of this(cab file) which is meant for VGA screen PPCs only
fair does that phone looks stunning,i was gonna get the orbit 2, but the diamond is much faster and better looking, quite looking forward to this one
After see Pontui Home runing so smoothly on my Artemis, I have a little hope that this programa will not demand a Hi-end hardware to run. I HOPE!!!

Hi, In this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=363500&page=14
a developer called dobb try to adapt the manila VGA to QVGA and release a version alpha and beta that works in the qvga devices but obviously run slow and need to adapt the soft buttons. You can install the cab of VGA version and the dll's, thus overwrite the files in manila folder with the alpha or beta version of QVGA.(This version need to polish more)
The version posted for sheennick123456 was a beta of touchflo3d leaked in january 2008, and with greater reason, the actual version should run faster.
I have no doubt that any developer here not only achieved by extracting the touchflo3d but also the driver to run correctly.
Think about that:
When "Touch" released, HTC said the touchflo could only run on those Devices because of the special hardware (screen), but there are many of us who run the touchflo in our Artemis without such hardware (screen).
Greetings
really it isn't working... i installed it and i don't know how to uninstall.. anybody??
it creates a folder named manila somewhere in the device memory
i dont recollect the exact path but i guess it is in the my documents
all u have to do is delete this folder
If you want to uninstall you have to:
delete the folder in Program Files/Manila
delete all registry in HKLM/software/microsoft/today/items/manila
delete manilatoday.dll in windows folder
I tried in my artemis and works slowly but the second beta needs more work.

Manila 2D is out

Hi There,
seems that manila 2D QVGA is out. You can find roms for other device (trinity, polaris ecc) already included it.
Who will be the first to cook an artemis rom with this stuff?
The race started!
Thank YOu

I'm totally new on cooking ROMS and I've seen the great work that our friend did on creating the Vanilla ROMS...
I'm thinking about starting to cook my own ROMs and post them here for everyone...
Any suggestions on where I can get the Manila 2D to use on an Artemis ROM?
I would love to start with something this great...
UHM... I don't know where get it, but I've read a lot more and seems that 3d hardware is needed... in that case, no manila 2d for artemis.
bye

I have tried the new cab, but with this version my SPB Now screen doesn't work anymore. When I remove the cab file, SPB Now works again.
Link is broken...
Is there any other way to get the cab?
check this section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=260
Its getting bigger and bigger though that package and it will make your device kinda slowish as it is now.
The keyboard is nice though from it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426281. I noticed some performance lag with the other keypad that was made with the diamond as base.
The manila 2d works good on Artemis xD
The other stuff at the ppc will be a little slow :O
batterystatus overclocking don't work so its extra slow.
Damn...Maybe if we open Manilla 2D and try to optimize it for Artemis?
What language was it programmed with?
most info can be found and modified in the xml file from what people said
If so, we should try to work on that...
BTW, anyone knows if Artemis Screen supports 640x480 resolutions?
artemis is QVGA meaning quarter VGA (vga = 640x480 / 480x640) in resolution.
So that is 320x280 or 280x320. Applications made for VGA resolution wont work afaik.
Thks for the info, Zetsumei...
I didn't know how it worked....
Hi,
after my tests:
1st: B&B 5 pretty loaded with stuff + Manilla2D = death, too slow even for snail.
2nd: Oops Black v1 clean + Manilla2D = late reaction, lags, very slow start.
I'll go back to my B&B5 with stuff and wait for complete rom with Manilla2D (instead of HHS). Maybe We can count for now B&B rom with Manilla2D included...who knows.
I'm reading some tutorials on how to cook, I'll try to get Vanilla 4.01 and take HHS out and put Manilla2D in it...Let's see how it will work...
I'll make sure to get everyone updated about it...If anyone want to help me, send me a PM.

[REQ] Manila 2.5 as a cab and then as a panel?

hi everybody is there any way to have the new manila 2.5 as a cab installer and then as a panel like i used to do whit manila 2.1? thanks
I wonder if that's possible? But if yes then that would be really nice.
This is a really good idea...who can help XDA members?
Actually I can't recommend installing TF3D by cab, because it consists of a lot (and I mean a lot, certainly 2.5!!) of files. And installing it by cab will make a huge impact on the system.
The first TF3D for X1 was available as a cab, but the diffence between installing by cab or cooked in where huge. TF3D by cab had all sorts of quirks and was slow a h*ll.....
FOr example, the manila 2.1 package alone is almost 40mb (and 2.5 is even bigger) so you end up with a cab of about 50mb.
But back to the point, haven't seen a cab of manila 2.5 (and there probably will not be one for the above reason).
thanks Lokatho for the esplaination, btw now that i know about the problem of a cab i was just wondering if a rom with a manila 2.5 PANEL could be built...

Make ROM that will preserve all user info and programs and i will update immediately.
Flash a ROM!
It would be really pointless to have a cab of 2.5, it would slow down your whole device and would barely run!
if you want 2.5, to the easiest and best way, flash to one of our chef's great ROMS!
I think that Valkyrie 3.2 is the best....but there are others....like NRG's wwe energyrom....and ITJE TOUCHIT LEO...
if you want 2.5 you need to flash!
and as far as a panel goes...it would be relativley pointless if you are already using 2.5 as your homescreen....
and if you are a NEWB....you should look and search into 2.5, the threads and roms before opening relatively pointless threads...
just my 2 cents

You are right, apart from the fact that (as stated out in my recent thread) you are supposing that everyone is in love with WM6.5.
I was looking as well for a cabbed Manila 2.5 to install it on WM6.1, so it would really be great to have it (or, have it cooked on a WM6.1)
there are modules and dll's for the new leo which wont work on 6.1
there is a manila 2 cab
linkt to thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448178
its a bit confusing, you have to download EnableRapi.cab first and install it. (in wont work the other way around, i tried it.
than you install the new manila 2 cab to internal memory. (that takes about 2 hours + in the tread are 3 different manilla cab files and only one has landscape i think, the beta3 but just use my link)
i have direct links to the files
EnableRapi cab: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=300592 (you have to scroll down a bit till you see the file)
manila 2 cab: http://rapidshare.com/files/218194087/TF3DHDB3.cab
and about the speed of manila 2, i have it installed one week ago and it crashed 1 time so far because i pressed accidently on picture presentation and than on weather tab and than switched to landscape (that was too much xD). and tabs like programs, settings and weather always take some time to show up. (about 2-4 seconds) all other tabs are fast once they loaded the first time. landcape switch takes always around 4 secounds, never longer.
and someone said its a huge impact on the device to install a 45mb cab file, and that might be true, but i have installed like 3 different manilas and this one 3 times (and uninstalled again, it never worked because i always forgot something) i never hardresetted the x1 after all the installing and it still works quiet good.
forgot to say, its not a panel, just a today element. and im using winmo 6.1
Thanks to show them how to install manila 2.0 on Wm6.1 but they search a cab for manila 2.5
yes, i understood all you're saying, so i know that a rom with manila 2.5 in it will run better. Now that i know it, i'd like to know if with a rom like this will be possible to run the manila as a panel instead of run it as the standard today screen. I want this option just because i like to change today home screen very often and also because if i have manila 2.5 in use in the today and i open another panel, it will still run in backgroung, making the whole phone go slower...
(sorry for my bad english :S hope you'll understand it...)

Will we be able to use TF3D2.5 on Diamond

I see that htc have released a new version of Touch Flo 3D (version 2.5), which looks fantastic.
I would like to know if anyone believes that we will be able to get this to work on the Toch Diamond, or will I have to buy the htc Hero to benefit from this kind of interface ?
Regards
Chad
Well now it's being ported to VGA, it would probably eat up a lot of RAM but it probably would work.
Wow! It's already being ported?
How much ram compared with native Diamond manilla or yoz 2.1?
I think yoz 2.1 is already the limit that Diamond1 can have to be able to successful use more than one program at time or run a GPS program.

Firstly, Why is this thread in ROM development? I hardly think TF3D 2.5 has anything to do with Diamond ROMs... Come on guys... That and TF3D 2.6 has already been previewed.
In response to your questions flitzjoy how can we know? It's not on the Diamond yet. It's not ported to VGA. So we can't tell yet.
There is a port thread over in development and hacking... Please search before posting as your question/s are probably more likely to be and already answered over there.
2.5 is ugly, i hope no one takes the time to port that crap, would be etter off porting 2.6 when its stable
as much as i want a new version, i would never want them on the Diamond. It eats up too much RAM and between the porting and converting files, there are bounds to be an assload of problems.

For further clarification, there is no such thing as "manilla 2d 2.5"
The latest manilla 2d is 2.0 1919.1432 from the "mega"
Confusingly the latest Manilla 3d is also ver 1919 (leo), however 2.1 and 2.5 generally refer to manilla 3d (also known as TouchFlo, now "sense")
Manilla 2d is the version of Manilla without 3d animations, and runs on devices with less processing power annd RAM. That being said, the latest version does feature an actual flipping clock.
Manilla 3d is feature and animation rich. It was first seen on the Diamond, then others such as TouchPro, HD etc. The latest version comes form the Leo aka HD2.
Our Vogue does not use M3D, the processor and ram aren't enough and we would need hardware supported openGL to run it. NFSFAN came close, but not close enough.

A while back, when M2D was being ported to QVGA devices, there were developers (including Chainfire and herg) who were working towards getting TF3D to work on QVGA. However, it was too complicated due to the fact that a bunch of this was coded in lua and there were thousands of images that needed to be scaled down from VGA to QVGA. Long story short, that project stopped once M2D came out as it was "good enough". I believe NFSFan was part of that development team as well, which is why he mentioned that he "came close".
Crap, and i just spent the last 2 hrs searching the net for a QVGA Manila 2.6 for my Vogue.
