Hi all,,
My Artemis is slowly but surely dying on me, BT stopped, WiFi stopped working, GPS is freezing my device. So I want to restore it to its original state in order to send it back for repairing or replacement.
I still have the original WM6 ROM that Im going to but back on it but one question remains; Do I have to SID lock it or something else in order to prevent the guys at HTC from discovering that I had a custom ROM running?
Please reply asap because UPS is coming to get it later this afternoon (its noon here atm).
Thanks for all replies!!
If you flash back to the original ROM i think you have the SID Lock....but im not sure... sorry
steps are as follow:
back up ur data
hard reset/clear strorage
remove ur sd card
run the uspl tool (pof's tool)
flash ur wm6
now u can hand it to ups and get it repaired! best wishes man
I see you're living in the Netherlands, a company in Belgium called Eurotwice is also specialised in repairing HTC devices
enter your IMEI code on the website and you will see if they are able to offer you their service.
they picked up mine device twice running a custom rom, it wont bother them, they fixed my Artemis perfectly
Thank you guys.
Its on its way for repairment!

thx m8 already tryed it....no luck
There are only two ways if you cannot get Bootloader (SPL) to run :
1. Send to RMA (gsm only : if it wasn't security unlocked)
2. Use Jtag (we only know pinouts for normal diamond yet)

thx every1 who tryed to help got the phone fixed had to send it in to htc uk only had to pay for posting it to them the rest was covered by the warranty diagnosis was main board failure? anyway back up and working 100% the only thing that it`s still locked on *range uk....has any1 ever unlocked their simlock?
OffTopic ... for unlocking read threads about that OR ask Olipro or cmonex or tupisdin
On the same topic, i have a bricked touch diamond that does not have a working bootloader. Totally dead, computer does not recognize it etc. And to make thigns worse i dont have a receit for it. Bricking happened during installing a new cooked rom over a previous cooked rom without doing a hard reset between them.
What are my options to possibly make this HTC working again? For example, can i get it JTAG'ed somewhere, or can i get it repaired somewhere (manufacturer?) even without warrenty?

Flashing a new cooked ROM over a previously cooked ROM (obviously you have hardspl and all that) wont brick. Thats weirddddd!
Im sure you tried hardreset and all that stuff right?
Can you enter bootloader at least? or tottaly dead?
Tried hard reset > no luck. Left the phone sitting without a battery for a few days > nothing. Allso can't acces the bootloader, so basically totally dead
Any ideas?
is battery charging?
As far as i can tell, no. I'll check that again later, don't habe the phone here at the moment.
To Sergio PC: i read from somewhere that you should not install a new rom without a hard reset before that. None the less, that is propably what has happened here. You think that something else has gone wrong here?
Well it seems that you indeed killed your spl.
I'm trying to jtag my diamond soon and will reply to this thread.
Cya,
Viper BJK
This is so weird. Maybe somebody flashed cdma hspl on gsm diamond. This brick phone 101%, but gsm hspl on gsm phone - this is almous impossible, unless your battery is too low (but flashing with low battery even won't start). I'm litle scarry about flashing any htc device these days. And can somebody post here DIAM100 JTAG pinout ?

You mean dead as in throw it to the dogs or dead as in keep trying there is a way to unbrick it?
With JTAG, yes
Exactly. RMA or JTAG.
For the latter one I need to code an app and verify that my jtag pinouts work.
The first option is however the best if you aren't quite good in soldering cables to small pads.

You need to send to warrenty... Your Diamond is death!!!!
I have same problem and send to repair and change all mainboard, new IMEI.
You kill the phone!!!!

Damn, that sounds quite bad. So do you happen to know why would this totally kill the phone rather than just mess up the nand flash that could be saved with JTAG. What i've been reading about the way that nand flash memory is written, when you scren up the write and you dont have hardcoded bootloader, then there is nothing to "channel" the new data (new rom) throught the usb/motherboard/other circuitry. So here comes JTAG to the rescue as it can reprogram the flash using only four wires connected directly to the chip and some clever sounding techniques that happens inside the chip...
Then again, i might be totally wrong here because my knowledge about inner workings of a modern ic chip is slim to none. But never the less, i still keep on hoping that there would be a way to save my touch, maybe even by sending it to someone with better knowledge and equipment to JTAG it (and pay a hefty compensation for it offcourse).
Any idea how much does the service cost to change the whole mainboard?
Ps. my english is not that great, especially on the techincal vocabulary. So i hope you all can still at least partially understant what i am trying to say...
You are absolutely right. Only SPL is bricked, thus you only need to write spl to nand. You can do so using jtag.
Cya,
Viper BJK
About the charging, even that is'nt working...
How about the JTAG'n, does anyone or any place do it for money, besides actual service. Anyone here willing to help me?
First of all sorry if I´m doing things better not to do.
...but i´ve the problem that i´ve lost my 4gb internal storage. i think i did everything to get it back. but it did´t appear yet. it neither can´t be recognized by my pc as external storage device nor by the diamond itself as internal storage. i tried to farmat the storage and i flashed 3 different roms. nothing.
now i decided to to try it with warranty at o2. i put back the original rom from the o2 homepage.
is there anything that they can figure out that i did hardspl?
i do not remember if it was a unsinged or singed hardspl! is there any diference?
...so please if there is a god...tell me were my 4gbs are or what i can do to get them back...or that they can fix it as warranty case.

p.s. sorry for my english but i think you know what i mean.....
You need to flash the original SPL otherwise it can be expensive when sending back to o2 ...!
Search the Diamond section for SoftSPL and "Original SPL for warranty"! Hope it helps you a little bit!

Hi,
I've seen a couple of threads about users who had the same problem & they managed to fix it so as their 4gb storage was working/ showing up again.
So I dont think you need to go as far as sending it back for warranty.
Try searching the diamond forums & you should find at least 1 of the threads & read it & it should help, you should be able to fix this yourself m8
Hope this helps

o.k. i´ve sent my diamond back for warranty. before i did it i put the original splv1.93. on it. but there is another version v1.37. so wich one is the correct one. i think i did a mistake. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrr

hello, i have a tmobile usa tp2 running on energy rom, im having an issue with one of my keys, i would like to return it to get it fixed or refurbished or new one dont matter, but iread that they check all software. i already have the original ROM but the radio also wen u put it to Tricolor boot shows the olinex hardspl...can some1 please help me to get my tp2 to 100% stock?! plz iwould really appreicate ur help!
thnx in advance..
All the info is in the Hard-SPL thread. Go to the part where it says "how to reflash Stock/Shipped SPL - STEP BY STEP - FOR WARRANTY REASONS ONLY!"
If your problem is with the ALT key then there is a patch for that... dont do a return for that!!
I seem to remember reading that the T-Mobile radio isn't available for you to re-flash. But I think it's very unlikely they're going to check that if you return all the other stuff to stock. In any case, I don't see how they can say changing the radio has affected your keyboard.
no i kno about the alt key and everything, its a hardware issue non software. but thank u all for your quick replys. and thank u ohyeahar, hope this works.
Hi I have recently tried to flash my Touch Diamond ROM, messed the hell out of it and, the only way to fix it is to flash it with the original stock ROM that it came with. Could anyone please help me with this.
HTC Touch Diamond P3700
Rom SPL 1.93
CID HTC_017
The phone was not branded straight from the manufacturer.
The problem is that I tried to flash the phone without doing hard SPL
Cleaned the whole phone and the only thing working now is the connection to the computer Trough mtty. I tried using other ROMS but they stop at 1% and gave me a vendor incorect error or something.
just download it from htc site
I tried but when I select the Serial number it says that the update is not for my phone and doesn't let me download it. and the ones that they have are only updates.
Does anyone have a valid Serial Number that i can use to download update ROM from HTC?
Have you tried any official roms posted around here? like this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410720
I did that but it started to load the roam into the phone and crashed at 1%,
it gave "Invalid Vendor Id" error and it turns off. Is there like a unversal HTC rom that at very least gets me access to the NANd Memory
I just want to HArd_spl the phone and install a new ROm
Dont even care about the original ROM any more

Try that one HT828GN27034 and let me know the result.
Oh very nice, thank U very much, I'll try it right now.
All of the Upgrade ROMs just give me invalid Vender ID error message
Doesn't make sense to me though, i tried flashing the Phone With Hard-SPL but for some odd reason it hangs at 0%.
Is my phone dead for good or there might be a way to fix this issue
did u installed OLINEX first?
If ur phone is in 3 color screen try to install Olinex 1.4 and after that flash it with stock ROM.
No thats the thing, I Just Cleaned the phone with Mtty and tried to flash it with WM6.5. but after the cleaning nothing really work out. and i cant even go back to the the old Rom cose I did not back it up.

What windows are you using?
I am using windows 7, but i tried the same process on vista and XP, same result, the phone connects to the pc, and right as i try to load one of the ROMs from HTC's website, the thing crashes at 1% and says invalid vendor ID error.
IS there a universal ROM that can be loaded, or my phone is bricked for good?
Perhaps you want to have a look here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Diamond_Upgrades
Succes!
Oh wow this place has every ROM type but mine, so not fare, u think if i download and try every one of these other ones I might have some sort of luck?
I used HTC's MTTY and figuered that My CID is HTC__017, and the 1.93 Spl
and mine is not listed there.
Hey, I have the EXACT same problem. My diamond is the US 3G Unbranded phone (DIAM110, CID=HTC__017). I've both called and emailed HTC asking for the ROM, but they say that they do not have it. The only way to get it would be to request it from the vendor you bought it from. I got mine as a gift so I can't really do that. Oh, and if you want them to flash it for you, you have to pay like $160. Not cheap. And you know HTC, they'll make up that your main board's fried, and ask you to pay $300. If you have WARRANTY, send ASAP. Mine expired a week ago.
As for flashing random ROMs, most likely this will not work (although you can try). The way your phone determines if it's allowed to install the ROM is by looking at the beginning of the file. If you open up the NBH with an editor, you can see and even change the ID. The problem is, HTC "signs" the file with a 2048 RSA key (2^2048), and if you even change one digit then the signature will be invalid.
So yes, I have the exact same problem, my thread is at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623320, so if you have any luck, or I do, check out that thread.
At this point, the only things that are left to do are to beg HTC or a vendor for the ROM update (I might find HTC developer's mailing address and ask them); find a way to get into Soft SPL, or in other words load into memory a bootloader that would allow flashing of unsigned code; or find a vulnerability that would allow flashing unsigned code (has been done with Trinity).
Also you can try contacting Olipro, cmonex, and pof, but I so far have had no luck.
Hopefully we'll find something.
~codeslicer
Hey man, thanks for the reply, we are pretty much on the same exact boat, am gonna try to contact HTC see if my warranty is still up, and the phone i got it as a gift, I don't have a recipt of a proof of purchase, what do u think i should tell them. And if that doesn't work, I think I am going to try every single 1.93 ROM
in this site.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Diamond_Upgrades
And also what is your CID. if its HTC_017 then its not here, but there are a lot of them in here so u might get some luck.
let me know how it goes man.
I think i have the solution
can u please confirm clearly as what has happened , hope i have the specific solution .
