Hello people
I have tried the windows update application once and it connected and showed the results no updates actually..
but now after various installations and stuff it says it cant connect to the erver...
do somebody know where migt the issue be?
thank you.
It's rubbish anyway. Over the years I've had a C500, C600, E650/Vox and Touch HD and for every one of them it's always come back as No Updates Available.
The Windows Update is just.... a rubbish, it never worked in nearly every WM devices
Did it ever? Constantly had crashes on a wm6 device with pocket excel, sent countless error reports. The response from Microsoft. . . . Two fingers.

I was over the moon when I heard I could load WM6 on my TyTN....
my phone is now slower than it was before.......why would this be?
battled to get active sync working again. MS Active Sync 4.5 installed Outlook 2002 but it has not serial number....where do I get this from?
I was hoping they would release GPS software for this phone but it dont like it.... Anyone know if there is GPS software available? I know about the navigate software but that's the same as having a map book or street guide.
What has your experience been after upgrading your TyTN OS to WM6?
What are the new features in WM6? To me it still looks the same in terms of functionality.....
Bless u...
but u know almost every Tytn got slower when upgraded to WM6(it's not real WM Version6 but a Second Edition of WM5). According to a developer of Microsoft in Asia Research Center, WM5SE has a memory limit which only allows 32 process in a row therefore we can see WM5SE(the so called WM6) cannot handle memory well.
That's the reason why Tytn got slower...
can i downgrade to WM5 again?
sure
downgrades are don like upgrades...
Is there any GPS software available for the HTC?

Not sure why your upgrade seems slower, but my upgrade from the official WM6 upgrade from the HTC site went smooth as butter and everything seems faster for me. I've also noticed that it boots up a bit faster and I don't get errors from Xpress mail upon boot ups. The only thing I did notice was that it used up a bit more memory than WM5. My bluetooth head piece connects faster/better, I don't have to soft reset nearly as often as I did with Wm5 either. The messaging program has a few new features that I like too. I actually like my Tytn now. Unfortunately, Youtube still doesn't work out of the box and requires the flash bundle upgrade and that other video player TMCMP or what ever its called.
I use SPB Mobile Shell and SPB Pocket Plus and they work flawlessly with WM6. Overall, this was the best thing to happen since I got this phone in August.

Hi,
Clearly either I have done something wrong, or there is something wrong with the phone. Is there a particular order in which this upgrade should be done?
My PDA is slow opening applications and I am battling with Active Sync 4.5
It displays an error each time and I dont know what it means. I have tried to google the error but cannot pick up anything.
I want to downgrade to WM5. Where can I download it from? I only find the SDK version of WM5. Any ideas where I can get WM5 from. I dont see it on HTC website either
Any help will do.
Thanks
I'd begin by reading Mr. Vanx's downgrade guide
You can use some registry tweaks/settings to improve responsiveness of your device if your flash goes ok. Official release ROMs are slower than cooked ROMs - so your choice also matters. For me the performance of WM6 has always been superior in comparison to WM5.
Hello,
Since a few days, my Windows Live Messenger stopped delivering messages. I am able to log on, to see online contacts, but not to chat with them. They are not able to send me messages either. All messages are bouncing back after a few minutes ("The following message could not be sent: ...").
All other internet applications (opera, skype, ...) are working fine at the same time.
At first I thought I messed up with some settings, so I hard reset my Blackstone. But this did not solve.
So I thought it was a network problem (maybe a filter from my network operator). But the problem held also using my home wifi connection.
I also tried to update the Windows Live component, following this link: http://wl.windowsmobile.com which actually worked and updated Windows Live to v10.06.0046.0800, but I still have the same problem.
Any idea? Someone else is not able to log on since about 1st May 2009?
EDIT: I tried another Live ID which I have, and on that one, everything works! But I don't want to use that... I have my emails and contacts on the other!!!
Any suggestion/help appreciated. Thanks!

Hi
I have also had problems with Windows Live for the past couple of days.
I was using it to get hotmail (mails delivered as they arrived, so data connection was always on).
It was working fine for about two weeks. The suddenly from past 2-3 days, my battery was losing charge very fast (30% gone in 4 hrs or so).
I though it was some application I has installed, so I did a hard reset. After that I realized that Windows Live was the problem. Basically it was not able to connect frequently and ate battery retrying.
So since past few days, probably something is wrong with Microsoft servers.
Anyway I kicked out Window Live and battery life is back to normal.
Looking for another push mail option now...
this is a general problem it happens on all my htc devices [tytn2 s630 htc hd]
it is probably due to the latest update for the desktop version of windows live messenger it doesn't support the windows live of the mobile phones we will wait for an upgrade to solve this problems [best wishes ]

Do you think that all the people who are using an HTC phone cannot use Live Messenger these days? Wow. I cannot believe that Microsoft does not do something immediately. Actually, I cannot believe that I did not manage to find a forum or blog on microsoft.com for Windows Mobile support... the only blog I found has the latest post dated Aug 2008. This is quite disappointing to me.
Anyway, hope that the update (or the workaround) will arrive soon.
Cheers

Looks like a replacement of voicecommand for 6.5. Searched XDA and surprisingly didn't find any threads.

Tellme
There is a youtube video of guy using the Tellme software on his Samsung Omnia. GRRR so when can I get my copy and it sounds free? I guess I'll have to wait for the official website to e-mail me when the product is released. It's a shame that it seems windows mobile is always a day late and dollar short. I guess as a loyal customer I'm used to the wait. Especially since there is Zune HD confusion and wait time. Which sucks kind of since I just bought a 120 gig zune. BOOO yet again...
there we go... releases with WM 6.5... here's the link http://www.tellme.com/
the first 1 2 find a cab working on the X1 gets a sweety hehe
The problem I'm having is trying to find a way for people outside of the US to find a cab full stop.....
so voice command is now for US users only??
Anybody find a cab yet? I am In Canada so it wouldn't let me download..
http://www.wmexperts.com/microsofts-tellme-app-action
I have done a big search but cannot find a cab. Seems you can download it in the us though.
Is Tellme available for Windows Mobile phones?
Tellme is currently available only on the Samsung Intrepid Windows Mobile phone. Sign up to receive a message when your phone becomes supported
How do I get Tellme on a Samsung Intrepid?
Tellme comes preinstalled on Sprint's Samsung Intrepid. Simply launch the Tellme application from the desktop or press the dedicated speech key on your keyboard and follow the instructions on the screen.
So, unless we got the cab from Samsung, we won't have it soon.

Hi guys,
check this out;

Do I get a sweety Lex360?
Works like a dream on the X1i
Cyberon?
Probably a little bit of topic but did you see a new Cyberon voice commander?
It is now avaliable as a separate program in several languages, and Cyberon claims that it works with WM 6.5.
Unfortunately costs 20$, but 30 days demo is fully functional.
I’m using it couple days on a standard SE 6.1 and it works great. With JETware Hands-free Extension installed it even works with Bluetooth headset (calls can be initiated with the headset button).

Tried to install the TEllme app on a 6.5 X1.. No dice.. looks like it installs but then program disappears. Anybody have luck with this?
try go to Program Files\Tell me it usually extracts all the files there and you can start it manually
the same with me, start program, nothing happens on HTC HD
did you try to search the install folder manually should be sth. like:
program files\Tellme\
try to search for "TellmeLauncher.exe" if you find the the install folder just double click the TellmeLauncher.exe.
Btw. for all who didn't know like me, you have to copy the installer to your pda and start it there. The installer launches on both the Windows PC as well as on the pda but on the Windows PC the installation brakes up at 72% with an error. So Simply copy the installer to your PDA and start it there and see it will install (at least unter WM 6.5, no luck on my Touch HD under 6.1 so far).
yes, of course. I tried to start it there, it starts for half a second and quits again
I have tried on R3a rom wm6.1 the program starts and gives message "starting tell me for the first time" and loads but then gives a message "unable to complete at this time please try again later". I assume it does not work on WM6.1

I had that too and I had to install voice command too then it worked perfect.
Rds
Die_Leuchte
Yes as above:
Only works on WM6.5
you need to install microsoft voice command
you need also to install tell me
The program works now but to be honest is crap at trying to understand me and takes forever to recognise what I have said.
After 20 times of saying "text Dan" it worked twice and then it would not recognise what I wanted to text.
I am really disappointed in skype discontinuing their software for Winmo. What the hell are they thinking? Do they think that no one uses Winmo? Well I discontinued their service so thats the end of it. Anyone else with me?

ill send u the cab for skype pm your email to me
I think what they're thinking is that wm6.x is dead, beacuse it basically is. WM6 apps apparently won't run on wm7 and I can't see many new wm6 devices being released now.
So what is the point them updating the old Skype cab ? None really. And how much server space should they dedicate to a dead app running on a dead OS when I'm sure it's possible to find the cab file on alternative sites? I have Skype installed on my TP2 and it still works fine, so they've not disconnected us, they're just not updating us.
If I were you I'd place the blame more on Microsofts decision to ditch compatibility than Skype

I have not heard about WM6 programs not running on WM7. Backwards compatibility is generally standard. Of course, programs written for a stylus would not make much sense.

A friend of mine is working on Windows Phone 7. He tells me that its OS is incompatible with the former Windows Mobile 6.x
Interesting, he said, at the kernel level, Windows Mobile 6.x is based on Windows 95 while Windows Phone 7 is based on Windows Vista.
Thanks for the link, defaultdotxbe, but unfortunately I cannot get the software to work properly. I can make a call, but there is no outgoing ring on my end and I can't hear anything when the other phone answers.

Thanks, but I have already found the cab for it and its function is giving me a headache. I don't like using BT nor the speaker and audioroute didn't help either because when my ear touches the phone it triggers unwanted actions and when I turn the screen off, the phone becomes useless. Then there are 2 types of ringtones when I make a call - one of them is very loud, annoying and rings a few seconds longer even after the other line answers it which most of the time they ended up hanging up on me. The second ringtone is much softer and accurate. However, every call I make the ringtone becomes random which is very irritating. Then there is the dialing screen which does not respond well to my touchscreen. It sometimes switches to another tab when I try to hangup and then at time it freezes. Well, basically the cab is outdated and isn't working very well for me.

I believe that skype is the one that have ditched us. WM6 is still heavily used by many people, especially by us in here. Also, the new HTC HD2 in the US is supporting wm6 and that can't be ignored. WM7 isn't even official yet so why did skype cut us out a long time ago? Or maybe I don't fully understand how this microsoft OS thing works, but I'm still disappointed in skype.
I received the update information today afternoon, and finish it just now.NO big improvements, maybe some changes on details.

I belive they make changes in Microsoft Exchange Sever (Email services) ,also fixed the Notifications status errors and someother stuffs.
HTC Titan UK, have just updated.
I've just been pushed the 7740 update to my 7 Pro, nothing particularly major.
I'm praying that it fixes the live tile and artist pictures on Zune though, the live tile has been stuck for weeks now and it seems to have lost all the artist pictures from stuff I bought from the phone!
Nice to see.
I have a Samsung Focus, but havent resived any update!!! any ideas?
Am just updating my Nokia Lumia 800 (on orange Uk) now to 7740.16. In the blurb just say it's fixing an email issue with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003
...got it too..............
Updated. Didnt feel anything faster. For me, useless update
Thanks for the info.. I also got the notification on my phone but I don't even care to upgrade to this version.. Coz I don't want to go through all that 3 hours of 'backup' as Microsoft likes to call it, which basically backs up nothing.
Sent from my OMNIA7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Heh, I updated yesterday and now my Internet is barely working, weather is on wi-fi or 3g. Lucky me! I've been meaning to factory reset this phone for quite some time since it has been giving me problems updating and downloading some apps on the marketplace, plus I can't download podcasts at all, yet can stream them.
I got the update on my LG Optimus 7. Didnt do it as I was feeling lazy. It supposedly brings two changes on O7(Activesync message forward issue and some Voicemail issue)
Didnt get the update on my Samsung Focus.
could not update to 7.10.7740
how can i update my half bricked hd7?
