Need help...after 7 months of trouble free use my Orbit has suddenly died. It basically started last week where the phone would for no reason at all soft reset itself. After it booted up the clock would go back to its original setting back in 2006 & had to be adjusted again. The soft reset would happen without any pattern e.g. when I push the talk button when call comes through, when I try to open a program or even just pressing a button to wake it up from standby.
Anyway yesterday it did the same thing but this time it boots up to the O2 splash screen i.e. the blue screen with the picture of the glass building, & then just remains there with the backlight still on. I've resorted to a hard reset but again it will only boot up to the blue screen.
Any ideas?

Well... do u use any overclocking software ?? To me happend the same today morning... i used BatteryStatus overclocking tool @ 260 MHZ
I got a call from my dad, we talk about 5 minutes and than, one second to the other the MDA screen was black, made a softreset, booting to the o2 screen (i used Orbit WM6 Rom with MDA Compact III),set, made a hard renothing changes, once more booting to the Bootlogo...
Okay, so i tried it with bootloader mode and flash the rom, the same ****..., try the original TMO WM5 Rom, nothing changes... Now he show me the TMO bootscreen for more than 5 hours and backlight is also active all the time...
If i try to charge the MDA there is no LED lightening...

I'm having a similar problem and I have posted my symptoms here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344335) , though I never overclock my orbit before. ANyone have any solutions? Thanks in advance
Hi there, few weeks ago I start to exprience prolems with my Orbit on WM5,like not switching on(so i had to remove the battery and put it back again)when u do something like call or whatever it used to froze.
So I updated to WM6(the official from O2 web site)the problems continued...but this time not always.
Finally I installed the "Artemis Touch 3.01 full" using the cid lock and everything, well that problems stop for a while but now suddenly it reset automatically then stops on the HTC logo.
I tryied to do hard-soft reset using the button but anything...
Any idea of what it can be?the pda is in mint condition and never felt the floor
Thanks.
hey guys.. quick question.. I broke my screen for the hx2755 so I bought a new LCD for it. Installed it, etc.. Reloaded the OS tried WM6, WM2k3 problem is on the alignment screen it won't ever align. I go through the process and it keeps telling me to align constantly. Any ideas?
can you get passed the alignment state at all? If not:
Hook your PDA up to your computer. When activesync runs, just cancel out of the enrollment process and then explore your PDA.
Go to the /windows directory and then to the /startup directory.
Delete the welcome program out of there and soft reset.
Your screen may be damaged and unusable (touch wise). You will find that out very quickly!

hi brothers,
i have HTC touch diamond for around a year now, and all of a sudden its touch screen is behaving abnormal, when i touch "phone" it opens "programs" for me
my fone is HTC touch diamond orange one i want hardspl it but via active sync i have to press "yes" in my fone which is not possible since touchscreen doesn't response, i tried from the tri colored screen but it remains stuck at 0%
is there any way i can hardspl from storage card and how?
is my problem a hardware one?
thanks for quick replies
I'm actually having this problem too, not really sure why. If I touch to the right of the icon it works, but sometimes even that fails me. I've been using the d-pad for most things, figure I'll try going back to stock HTC ROM and see if that works.
Probably won't be a while though, since I'm reformatting my pc, and since it's just a backup phone now
Sent from my X10 using XDA app
by the way when i try to hardSPL from the tri color screen (it shows USB which means fone is connected) it remains at 0% for like 5-6 min and than gives error number 262
Well my MDAIII turns itself off or crashes. Mostly on the HTC screen from the new 6.5.5 Rom from D-Two. This problem persists since the first WM6 rom I flashed on the system.
Sometimes it crashes on the screen with the four colors. SOmetimes in the touchflo or in settings.
Everytime the screen goes black and you see some stripes. When I put out the battery and stick it back in it runs until the HTC boot logo or one of the other mentioned above.
When I clean the Registry Hive and format the Storage. The BLueAngel runs a bit longer without crashing.
The battery is still at 60 percent.
Is this a known problem?
Also I think that I need a new microphone. The one in the BlueAngel is defect. No one can hear me. When I put a Headset in to socket on top. Everything is fine.
Similar Problems
Hi,
I know, that won´t help U, but my Blue Angel has similar problems.
I´ve tried 6.1 Manila and 6.5.5.
Both run well and then, without any obvious reason I get a black screen.
In 6.5.5 the reset lead to a hang and showed R None G None D 6.5.5
After a further reset it showed R 1.1.5 G 1337.45 D 6.5.5
but it didn´t boot at all.
WLAN didn´t work at all in 6.5.5, so I´ve turned to 6.1 + Manila.
But there my device also hangs up, but I can reboot it.
Sadly the Blue Angel don´t run stable and crashes also, like in 6.5.5 without any obvious reason.
Maybe d-two can help, but I´m a new User and not allowed to post in the rom-developer forum.
Stay tuned
