deinstalling app thats not in deinstall list - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Hey,
I downloaded snake from http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ to try on my HD. But I doesnt work correctly so i wanted do deinstall it. But its not in the deinstall list, and its added an ugly entry to my start menu thats unremovable too. When i got to start - settings - menu and i deselect it there I get a message: cannot move that item.
What to do to get this stupid ass app of the HD?

still need help with this please

did you try removing it via ActiveSync?

no, how can i remove a program trough activesync? I only use that to sync my contacts and calendar data with my computer.

Connect the phone via ActiveSync, then as soon as Microsoft ActiveSync comes up, go to Tools > Add/Remove Programs.

ok, I see now, i tried but no it doesnt show up in the list. Very strange, if you want you can try it, just install snake from the link provided in the first post. But warning, youll probably have the same problem.

just remove it from the windows file in the start folder.
it'll be on the phone but you won't see it to bug you.

lost icons in start menu

Something strange happened to my WM5, I was using deepfish and multitasking with my txt msges, then pressed the home button, and I noticed the icons on the home screen for the "previous applications opened" have became windows default icons. Sorta like the "unkown type" icons in windows. I then clicked on the start menu and discovered that all the icons in my start menu has disappeared. I did a hard reset and still no change, I was wondering if theres anyway to fix this.
Thanks a lot.
There is no way to restore default, I went ahead and purchased the cid unlock thinking that I could just update to the new wm6 rom however, after purchasing the sim/cid unlock form gsmliberty, I Realized that I was not able to connect with dashV2unlock.exe. So I dont know what to do now. At the moment, the phone will connect to my desktop however all I could do is edit the registry and browse the phone. When I connect the phone to my desktop I receive "Synchronization cannot be completed successfully. REconnect ... " I'm still curious what could have happened to begin with. I still cant access anything on the phone since all the *.lnk icons on the start menu are missing.
try using xp to update your phone. it sounds like a vista problem.
I am using XP. I tried on both my systems and still the same problem. I'm not sure but am I suppose to be able to browse and view the windows folder when I explore through my desktop ?? For some reason I can't locate the windows folder.

Direct Push is disabled.
Problem is that ActiveSync is only started, it's not trying to synchronize. So no Data connection.
Also everything worked perfect, and I think that problem caused installation of FlexiMail, which is uninstalled, but problem stay...
just a try: use schap's advanced config tool and uncheck "connection always on"
another try might be to make sure that AS is really closed (and not minimized). use htc task-manager or x-button change the settings to "close apps" when pressing the x-button.
Unchecked and closed, but showing again.
another try might be:
go to activesync, menu->schedule
and set "peak times" and "off-peak times" to "manually"
already adjust like that and doesn't help.
I seem to have the same issue...seen it with wm6 and now wm6.1
hm.
maybe one of the following might help:
use htweakc and disable "GPRS/G3 Auto Attach"
goto activesync, menu options and delete your exchange server (be sure to backup your data as it deltes all your emails, contacts, etc.)
delete all of your internet/isp connections and your work network connections and re-add them.
if these do not work, please check if there is a 3rd party software which might be configured properly.

Use free Celetask with IE hotkey

Celetask is supercool task manager:
Include New Task, Close task, Switch Task and View Task Properties.
Start any application through command line.
CeleTask can also execute any menu command in command line.
Include Terminate Process, View Process Modules, Properties.
Tool box with full customization support. Include Power Status, Memory Status, Free Memory, Reboot System, Shutdown System, etc.
Hot Key Customization
User can assign a hot key for any command.
All this with one press the Internet button
I use Internet button to start the Celetask and I set the hotkey of Celetask to shutdown all apps with another press of Internet button. I use "8 button" to clean the ram. And that how with 3 clicks I close all aps and clean the memory
The "1" button I use for soft restart.
To use this task manager with hotkey just download the attachment end copy two files in WINDOWS folder.
I see this in Kavana new 6.1 ROM, but you can use it in all other ROMS.

Can you attach the CeleTask last version in English now?
this is a great proggie. i've used it to create a shortcut to soft reset. the only problem is that it asks me to confirm i want to restart the phone. there's probably a way to bypass this, but i've not figured it out.
anyone know if there's a way to use celetask to restart the phone without a confirmation message?
Yes:
Menu-->Options-->Show Alert
Just remove the check and Celetask will make everything without questions.
Now I have a question:
how to make a hotkey with Celetask to start anoother program.
I see I can add programs to tools but can connect hotkey to them
i have the opposite question littleclown...
for some reason activesync is in my celetask and i don't want it there. there's no reason for it to start at startup. at least i don't think it's necessary anyway. it fires up just fine on it's own when i plug it into the computer.
i can't seem to get it removed from the program list in celetask.
can anyone fill me in on the trick?
Fake server for Activesync
The following info comes from Aximsite
1. open the Activesync program.
2. Select Menu at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. This will bring up the Options Menu. Notice the option Schedule... is greyed out? This is the all-critical option we need to get access to. But as it's disabled we can't change Activesync's default synchronisation schedule.
Ok, so how do we enable the Schedule option? Easy!!! Fool Activesync into thinking there is an Exchange Server to sync with:
1. From Activesync's Menu select Add Server Source.
2. In the following screens you can enter any old garbage. It does not matter, but just in case your unsure, just type the following in the indicated boxes:
Server Address: fake
Tap Next
User name: fake
Password: fake
Domain: fake
(Select save password or going into the Advanced menu makes no difference, so no need to bother).
Next
Untick all of the 'Data you want to synchronise' options
Tap Finish
3. Ok, we're done creating the server. You should now see in Activesync's main screen your normal Activesync connection(s), and a new connection called Exchange Server.
4. Go back into the Menu, and lo and behold the Schedule option is now enabled! Go ahead and tap it!
5. You will see that both options in the Schedule screen are set to Every X Minutes.
6. Using the drop downs, change both the Peak times and Off-peak times boxes to Manually.
7. Press the OK button.
Now
1. Go back into Activesync's Menu, then Tap Options.
2. Highlight Exchange Server, then tap Delete. A warning message will appear about removing files etc, but as you have no files associated with the fake Exchange Server, it's nothing to worry about - just tap Ok.
3. The list will now only show your remaining PC Sync connection(s).
I did and Activesync stop starting automatically, however after you connect with your PC you need to close Activesync with Celetask
thanks!
unfortunately it didn't work.
i'm trying something else. will report back.

Text Message Sent Confirmation - How to disable?

Everytime I send a text message, it pops up a message letting you know that it was sent. It is extremely annoying. Is there anyway to turn it off? I went into the options and unchecked the boxes, but that didn't work.

Got under my skin too! Download CeRegEditor to your pc and sync your phone via WMDC run the CeRegEditor make connection within the program and go to tools and then unlock registry, then follow these keys HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\ change key value SMSNoSentMSG to a value of 1. Save the edit and perform soft reset. Tada no more annoyance!!! If you dont like the thought of thumbing through your registry then you can find .cab file that will preform it for you. And also you can download other programs that for the life of me I cant think of right now and install them to change this and other settings on your phone. Just do a search and youll find them. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply. That sucks that you have to do all that to get rid of this annoyance. What were they thinking when they put this message confirmation in? Wow, what a mistake.
I am pretty sure that I used HD tweak to turn it off. 2.1 - Sent notification- disabled.
Very useful app as is Schapps Advanced Config tool. Both should be on your phone.
I use "Rhodium Settings Tool" by Tom_Condom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=549135 once installed go to menu>text massaging>notifications SMS sent

How to disable HTC Sync Manager autostart on OS X

This is to get rid of the background process and Statusbar icon on Apple computers. It does not break HTC Sync Manager from running. It also does not stop the finder window from prompting to install HTC Sync Manager upon plugging the phone in, unfortunately. That's something completely different.
Navigate to Applications and right click HTC Sync Manager and choose SHOW PACKAGE CONTENTS. Go to Contents/Resources/ and find HSMMonitor.app and rename to HSMMonitor.bak.app
That's it. One less thing slowing down your startup, cluttering up your statusbar.
The Coder way....

Or if you don't want to change the app file structure and "correctly" stop the background process (and Statusbar icon), so MacOS is not looking for the file to load and the app won't load even after update then you need to stop the LaunchDemon for it....
To do that you need to:
1. Open Terminal - don't be scared, its not that bad!
2. Enter the following command: "launchctl unload -w ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.nero.HSMMonitor.plist" - Tells the system to stop the app and never load it
3. Log out / in or reboot - Just to test that your master Terminal skills have worked
4. Try to take over the world!
Hope this helps
