However, in looking at the file contents I can't see much differences than in the previous leaked ROM. The file name suggests a new Radio maybe?? "RUU_Vogue....3.78.78" versus "3.37.77" The attatched picture contrasts the leaked rom files with the "official" rom files. The last file "VOGUIMG.nbh" has a newer modified date of 11-07-08. What do you guys think? Initially I don't see where the file sizes changed so I don't think anything is different, but I'm not an expert.
VZW Update
I am going to begin testing the official update this weekend and will report findings.

verizons official channel
So pcd has a copy of the final release of the winmo 6.1 rom; what is verizon's official channel for distributing the rom? It seems to me that if there is an final release then I should just wait the week or so and get the update from verizon directly.
It's on the Verizon Wireless support page for the XV6900, it links right to the PCD Site

is there a gps fix released for this official update?
Following these instructions worked just fine for me. Start with the section that says "Verizon MR1 GPS Instructions"

I have been a member here for the past few weeks and have been excited at the progress made with the latest AKU updates. The problem is that I can only understand what the updates do. I understand what the AKU is, but am confused by a lot of things.
First, I own a UTStarcom 6700. (HTC Apache, I believe?) My carrier is TELUS Mobility in Canada. My biggest fear is bricking my mobile. I understand that I am supposed to install the latest AKU in Bootloader mode. If I mess up an update, or the update just doesn't work with the mobile -- or even if it does work and I want to go back -- can I go into Bootloader mode again and install the last OFFICIAL firmware update to go back to AKU 2.2? There is an update process here on TELUS' web site. Because my mobile came with the latest firmware, I didn't need to do this. But for those more in the know, does that page I just linked detail what I would essentially need to do to go back to the last official firmware?
That out of the way, what exactly is required to update the firmware to add AKU 3.3 support? I have seen a few .exe files floating around, and I am wondering if they are generic? I have seen a couple that indicate they are for the HTC Apache, but are they generic to that mobile, or tailored for Sprint, Verizon, etc.? I'm afraid of crapping something out on my mobile because the firmware adds some features for Sprint, or lacks some features for TELUS. (Things I am worried about are #777 for DUN, that sort of thing, and other carrier features or details.)
That brings me to the next thing... extended ROM. I sort of get the impression that if there is anything specific to my carrier that it is contained in the extended ROM? I've seen people discussing how to unlock the extended ROM, though I haven't figured out how to do it myself, mainly because I am not sure if I have to. If there is nothing for me to gain, I won't do it.
In a nutshell, I own a UTStarcom 6700, my carrier is TELUS Mobility, and I would like to upgrade to AKU 3.3. (I understand that AKU 3.5 is still buggy, like no USB sync support at the moment -- correct me if I am wrong.) I see a lot of posts throughout the forums, but nothing really all in one place. I would love a step-by-step detail of how to do it. In fact, if I could get a few people to help me get this going, I would offer my services to create a how-to with screenshots, etc.
If someone could help me with this, I would really appreciate it. If something comprehensive could be written up, could we sticky it?
So any word on Crossbow yet? I've heard a couple people might be working on it. I'm guessing it will include all of the benefits of AKU 3.3 and then some?
Thanks in advance!
i just found a new Update on the htc support site.
I think there is no thread about this yet.
Here's the link: http://www.htc.com/europe/support.aspx
Thanx for the attention
RUU is already out, I've been running it a week now
ah, okay, didn't notice...
can you tell me the main changes?
browser speed improved`?
Keyboard has the mic for voice input (but doesn't work well with an english accent!!), Flash is still the last beta so best to install official release once booted, browser seems quicker (but I only use it when away from PC as there's no point viewing the 'Net on a phone), other than that it's just 2.2
Worth getting if you're not rooting, mind
Hey guys,
Just getting acquainted with my new Desire.
Looking on the HTC site, there is an official Telstra ROM update available for me (in Australia).
Just wondering if anyone knows how to obtain information on the changes HTC have made from one ROM to another...
http://www.htc.com/au/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=312&cat=2&dl_id=1048
... is the updated ROM.
and...
http://www.htc.com/au/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=312&cat=2&dl_id=1027
... is the version im running at the moment.
is this an Android 2.2 (Froyo) update?
any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks dudes.
Maybe I've been overlooking but I've never seen change logs on the HTC website.
As I look at the release date it should be Froyo 2.2 because 2.1 is pretty old now.
If you really want to be sure you can check the version by yourself by opening the RUU update executable installer you've downloaded. Monitor/scan it while for a rom.zip file which will be inside a temp folder and extract that, then extract a small user image file with 'unyaffs' to see the 'build.prop' file which includes information about the build etc..

Hey guys,
I finally got around to upgrading to the latest Official Telstra ROM.
I ended up performing the upgrade OTA (Over The Air), which was an absolute breeze. I didn’t have to do any backups prior to the upgrade, and it maintained all my settings/apps/data with no loss… of anything..
It ended up being the Froyo update (popup on device explained, though nothing mentioned on HTC site), and also included an updated version of sense.
So OTA updates for official ROMs are the way to go.
Cheers.
Over the past few days, I have been working on a new version of Seven-Eighter based off of the source code that Jaxbot kindly provided. I have made numerous improvements to the original version.
One of those improvements is instead of embedding the links to the update files as strings in the actual program, my version of Seven-Eighter downloads a config file from the internet which contains the links to the update files. In this manner, you, the user, do not have to download a new version of the program every time Microsoft releases a new update for Windows Phone 7.x. All I have to do on my end when a new update comes out is to just update the config file once I find links for the new update.
Some more improvements include improved error handling and some better instruction to help you with the update process. If you haven't yet, you should really check it out. I am curious as to what people think of my version compared to the original.
You can find the link to download my version of Seven-Eighter on my blog here: http://bit.ly/ZOzAz9
Now as such, I am always looking to improve. I welcome any and all suggestions. If you want to throw something my way to help with development you are welcome to do so, but not required (your satisfaction works just as well, check my signature for instructions).
Nice work!

To be honest, I didn't test my version of Seven-Eighter with a custom rom image (only stock factory rom image). What build is it currently running?
I have the exact same question.
I pretty much bricked by bootlaoder on my AT&T HD7S using the initial version of SevenEighter from jaxbot and now can't even use the gold card method to downgrade since I need it unlocked.
My RGB bootloader screen only shows one line of text at the top in the red and nothing in the white space where it should say USB HOST/Loader Mode.
But at least I had a 7.5 Zune backup that I can restore to, the only thing being that it doesn't restore my bootloader.
So, question is, can I use your software to upgrade to a custom unlocked 7.8?
Thank you!
I was finally able to get my Focus S upgraded to 7.8. Got tired of waiting. I had a problem with the application and had to close it. when I relaunched, it continues where it left off. Nice! I left the update.log just in case.
Now I just need to unlock it for side loading. Anyone recommend ways that still work? Thanks.

Screenshot please ?
anybody updated at&t titan 2 to 7.8?
Yes. The seveneighter app worked perfectly. I just wish I could install the version of htc connection setup I had on my hd2 so I could change my apn settings for my carrier instead of being locked out of my mms.
Is this the right (trusted) place to get stock firmware from??
https://motostockrom.com/motorola-moto-g8-play-xt2015-2
I'm new to Moto.
I see there are "official" links elsewhere.
And it depends on your provider build , I think.
Motorola doesn't give us the official links to their firmware roms. These website are either taking the firmware from another site or using logcat to take the link from the phone's ota update request and using it to download the firmware on their computers.
If you cannot trust any unofficial website, you can get the next official firmware from your phone by installing logcat on your phone, then as you click on update phone firmware and the firmware is downloading you can chceck on logcat program for the log which contains the line with the download link for the rom. In this case you can be 100% sure you're getting the rom directly from the developers. But be quick because this link is only valid for a specific time.
If you have no problems downloading from unofficial websites, or you want to downgrade/ update to a specific version, I like to use lolinet.
