Is this the right (trusted) place to get stock firmware from??
https://motostockrom.com/motorola-moto-g8-play-xt2015-2
I'm new to Moto.
I see there are "official" links elsewhere.
And it depends on your provider build , I think.
Motorola doesn't give us the official links to their firmware roms. These website are either taking the firmware from another site or using logcat to take the link from the phone's ota update request and using it to download the firmware on their computers.
If you cannot trust any unofficial website, you can get the next official firmware from your phone by installing logcat on your phone, then as you click on update phone firmware and the firmware is downloading you can chceck on logcat program for the log which contains the line with the download link for the rom. In this case you can be 100% sure you're getting the rom directly from the developers. But be quick because this link is only valid for a specific time.
If you have no problems downloading from unofficial websites, or you want to downgrade/ update to a specific version, I like to use lolinet.

i don't know which thread this should of been posted into but it's bugging me
Every guide, every person when talking about updating/flashing ROMS talks about this this tool
but they seem to forget to even explain where to officially download it from lol
i have searched the web for a official homepage for this application and cannot find anything.
there is links to all versions from 1.15 right up to 4.43 but still no official place to download from?
my question is who makes it? where does it come from? and is there some special hidden official
site with regular updates?
if not how do we know what version is the latest? there is no about dialog box there is no
information other than a version build number.
For Example a few threads here people been asking where to download
then users have posted their mediafire links and such then right at the bottom the guy said
Dude!! that's 2 years old were on version 4.43 now..
If there is no official download/author site for this app how is anyone supposed to know that
newer version there is? .. do we just wait for someone to find a new version in the wild before we update?
Even on samfirmware it has all the custom roms, stockroms, which provides you with the ROM but
no explanation on what flash utility to use or where to download it from, to flash them ROMS
i can't be the only person on here or in the world wondering where this odin tool actually comes from am i?
wow really? 112 views but no-one has replied with any questions of their own or information?
can't just be me who's curious about this flashing tool
I would think it's a proprietary program,
from Samsung and I don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Over the past few days, I have been working on a new version of Seven-Eighter based off of the source code that Jaxbot kindly provided. I have made numerous improvements to the original version.
One of those improvements is instead of embedding the links to the update files as strings in the actual program, my version of Seven-Eighter downloads a config file from the internet which contains the links to the update files. In this manner, you, the user, do not have to download a new version of the program every time Microsoft releases a new update for Windows Phone 7.x. All I have to do on my end when a new update comes out is to just update the config file once I find links for the new update.
Some more improvements include improved error handling and some better instruction to help you with the update process. If you haven't yet, you should really check it out. I am curious as to what people think of my version compared to the original.
You can find the link to download my version of Seven-Eighter on my blog here: http://bit.ly/ZOzAz9
Now as such, I am always looking to improve. I welcome any and all suggestions. If you want to throw something my way to help with development you are welcome to do so, but not required (your satisfaction works just as well, check my signature for instructions).
Nice work!

To be honest, I didn't test my version of Seven-Eighter with a custom rom image (only stock factory rom image). What build is it currently running?
I have the exact same question.
I pretty much bricked by bootlaoder on my AT&T HD7S using the initial version of SevenEighter from jaxbot and now can't even use the gold card method to downgrade since I need it unlocked.
My RGB bootloader screen only shows one line of text at the top in the red and nothing in the white space where it should say USB HOST/Loader Mode.
But at least I had a 7.5 Zune backup that I can restore to, the only thing being that it doesn't restore my bootloader.
So, question is, can I use your software to upgrade to a custom unlocked 7.8?
Thank you!
I was finally able to get my Focus S upgraded to 7.8. Got tired of waiting. I had a problem with the application and had to close it. when I relaunched, it continues where it left off. Nice! I left the update.log just in case.
Now I just need to unlock it for side loading. Anyone recommend ways that still work? Thanks.

Screenshot please ?
anybody updated at&t titan 2 to 7.8?
Yes. The seveneighter app worked perfectly. I just wish I could install the version of htc connection setup I had on my hd2 so I could change my apn settings for my carrier instead of being locked out of my mms.
I have been looking for firmware zips for the OnePlus 3 but have not been able to find them. In particular I am looking for the 3.2.7 firmware. I know I can download the whole rom and flash it, but a lot of times it is possible to get a flashable zip with just the firmware.
Can anyone point me in the right direction and maybe post a link?
For some reasons I can't seem to post the link here.
Go to androidfilehost.com
Search ”3.2.7” (without the quotes obviously)
You'll find the modem and modem+firmware files. Download the modem + firmware file
I found them...

Hi,
I see this thread is a bit old, but if you are still looking for NK3, I have a copy of it. It's a zip containing the individual files (AP, BL, CP and CSC) for flashing in Odin. I can't post links yet but if you still need it I can PM you a link.
Want to restore back to original rom, and have spent a good hour hunting, only to end up at either samobile who want to charge e15, or some other shady sites where y ou have to pay for access...
Is this just the way things are?
Anyone able to share this rom?
At https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-tab-pro/SM-T520/ I do not see anything telling me to pay.
If you actually select a rom, you see this below the file...
This archived firmware is only available for premium users.

Which sort of contradicts the info on the previous page:
Here you find all the latest firmwares for the GALAXY Tab PRO SM-T520, if you want to flash your device with the newest Samsung software. Before downloading, make sure your device has the exact model code SM-T520. You can download the most recent GALAXY Tab PRO firmwares for free, or check out our cheap but fast download options.

I know the firmware is old, but its still the latest!
Did you log in. I registered long time ago at sammobile to be able to download. That worked for about 8 years without paying anything, but downloadspeed is anoying low.
Ok, I just logged in and saw , you have to pay. Free firmware downloads for members are only for recent firmware. Cause we're far from recent, we have to pay for the archive files. F...k you Samsung.
As I said in another thread some years ago, this tablet was my last Samsung device I bought, due to their superior support.
Here's a link for the German (DBT) and the Dutch (PHN) stock firmware. I think the dutch one was newer, although there's probably not much of a difference.
