MY IDEA:
I noticed that just before the phone completely blocks, you lose the first all links programs folder, then the links in the start menu and in the end no longer anything ... This reminds me of when in the very first rom windows mobile 5, the phone did the same thing ... The problem in that case was solved by changing drivers ( rewriting or fixing, i can't remember...) .. This would be consistent with all the problems of our Hermes... probably the rom were working, were built with different kitchen from those used for "not working Roms", and so on newer motherboards, the Roms work while those older no...
please don't spam and help us!
EDIT2: first schema up... but not enough data... (xls format)
I have the same port on my wizard and have tried most of the wm 6.1 Roms on my wizard and have not had 1 Hard Reset. Nor on my Faraday. The Hermes hard resets with almost all the roms.
I would like to see the following info for all people using WM6.1... I'm trying to build up a common scenario for people having issues with build 19209 - as different people seem to have different experiences with build 19199. Trying to get as much data as possible may help us out. Mine is below.

Tryed with different radios, - same results.
As i think - Its happens when i use some bluetooth features. Last time it frozen on GPSGate installation. System slowed so start menu opens 10 sec. When i reseted with stilys - frozen on first spalsh. Manual HR.
Before - also all HRS happened when i did something with BT - like
- attaching headset - system frozen - reset - SoD. - Manual HR.
- Opened GPS navigaton app - its started fine, worked few seconds then system slows - pressed reset - but is were HR
So, i got about 10-12 HRs in a week. and returned to old 6.0

Some things I've noticed: the problems seem to be related to a kind of "disk read error" accessing the storage memory. The first time it happened for me, using phone - after a call, went to look at call history. Call history came up, but clicking on number to go to contact failed (I assume history info was cached, but contact list wasn't...) Tried to soft reset to see if it fixed the history - bam, stuck on loading screen.
Another time, I was copying some files around between memory card and SD card using file explorer. At some point, read failures and insufficient space messages started popping up, and then all the files in the storage memory disappeared. Lockup followed soon after.
A disk read failure on the storage memory would also explain other people's symptoms like icons going missing, etc.
Edit: At the risk of inviting trouble, it has been 6 days since flashing with AT&T's ROM then back to CRC's 10.1, and the problems have not re-surfaced. Will post a new survey in a few days when I'm more confident.

Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum and to rooting and installing new roms, but since the issue with the lack of space on my Desire was giving me problems I decided to root, s-off and install a new rom this weekend.
I must say at first I thought I was way over my head, but after reading around the forum I started to understand a little bit of how the whole thing works.
I was sucessfull instaling everything and had the Runnymede up and running with 4Ext Recovery till the last hour. I was having a little bit of lag so I saw my sdcard was not formated as it was suposed to, or as it is listed on the developers forum of the Runnymede.
I had created the 1Ext with 512Mb, the 2Ext with 1024 and the swap with 1024, nevertheless everything was working properly with just a little lag.
So a few minutes ago I decided to format the sd card as per indication of a member here with the following guide 4ext_Partition Guide.zip - [Click for QR Code] (6.35 MB, 20 views).
After I booted the phone it won't pass the galaxy nexus splash screen, it just keeps splashing and never enters the rom. I retried to format the sd card but still with no success.
Did I do something wrong? Should I reformat the sdcard with another arrangement? Or do I need to wipe everything again and reinstall the ROM? I would like to avoid this last one since I had already everything ready and synced.
Looking forward to receive your expert comments, I remain sending you my best regards and thanking you for your help.
José
After reformat you need to flash rom again for that reason you stuck in boot loop
Runnymede AIO requires only FAT32 + 1-1.5 GB EXT 4, No second EXT, No swap
Regarding your question about back up: use titanium backup
Hi,
Thank you very much for your fast reply, I had no idea that reformating the partitions in the sd card I would to reinstall the rom. I am always learning
Well I have reformated the sd card and I am now installing the rom again, I hope everything goes well.
Thanks again.
Don't forget thanks button if helped, please
Done, thanks again
Well hello again, i have been watching the thread of the ROM i have installed from Runnymede and I have some doubts, could someone please help.
Thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1315961&page=1160
Here are my questions:
- The reason I have rooted and s-off my desire was to install a new ROM to have space available for apps. The ROM is running perfectly but on the storage menu my internal space available was around 140 Mb, I have installed a few apps from the market and the space is now 101 Mb. Did I do something wrong and still don't have space available?
- Here are the steps I took: I had a stock HTC Desire with Hboot 0.93, so I rooted with unrevoked, s-off with revolution, installed 4Ext touch, formated the sdcard with 1 ext4 partition (1024Mb) and the rest fat32, wiped the phone, installed the rom, and that's it.
I can't remember if it installed the a2sd or ad2sdx, I did a typical install and only changed the camera option to record 720p.
The phone is working perfectly but I am wondering if I will be out of space after installing a few more apps?
If you need more information feel free to ask.
Thank you.
José
Hello,
I have a problem when installing the MIUI V4 Marange ROM 2.6.8
The installer stuck on "Setting permissions" (in aroma).
For installing it, i make this different steps :
1/ Wipe all
2/ Fix permissions
3/ install: choose a2sd, ext4, no swap, shaky kernel
My phone is a HTC Desire with 4EXT Recovery Touch.
I have a 16GB SD Card with a 1024Mo Ext4 partition.
Thank you for your help
Best regards
Please, paste here the log of your installation.
You need to use the button in bottom left of the screen, the file will be saved in the same directory of the rom.
It can help discover what's your problem.
The problem is that i can't use this button because when the installation have a problem, i can't click anywhere.
In fact, when i install this rom, the installation goes until "Setting permissions". After a few minutes, the installer closes and shows an error with status 0.
What HBoot are you running? Is it Data++?
Yes! Why?
I know this may not sound like a solution to you, but try installing with Stock hboot. Here's why:
I had the exact same thing as you do now, and in every way I tried, I couldn't get MIUI to install on Data++ and on Sence hboot it installed, but gave me alot of errors.
I tried alot of things, such as installing on Stock hboot, taking backup, switching to Data++, perform a factory reset and let MIUI re-install itself... google application services started failing left, right and center.
I ended up ordering a Class 6 Ultra 32GB Micro SD Card, so I can use Lennox's LX-D2X script (cause my current card is too slow and caused alot of lag). Until the card arrived, I'm trying to live with just 140MB of internal memory (with Dalvik and App Data on sd-ext). Here's my setup:
PC-A2SD
EXT-3
Internal Swap File
Shaky Kernel
smartassV2 governor
Hope this helps.
everytime I what to update my app thought the Market, some app will not be success and dispaly an alarm " insufficient storage available."
how can I solve it?
you probably simply have insufficient storage available...you need to give more details...
did you partition your sd card? this should be done with 4ext recovery or gparted, not clockworkmod or minitool, excellent guide here
then follow the instructions in the first post of the rom thread to enable a2sd. make sure you have installed the correct rom version appropriate for your hboot. is it stock or data++ version?
Hi everybody,
I'm trying to give a second life to my GSM Desire. Like a lot of people, I had internal memory problems with my Stock ROM Froyo, so I decided to skip on custom ROMs with unlimited memory.
I tried CM7 but I missed Sense. Then I flashed Supernova Xtrem, unlimited memory was good, but my device was rebooting once or twice a day, loosing each time 5 by 10% of battery life...
So I decided to flash another ROM: Cool3D Runnymede v7 by Coolexe.
My device is rooted, S-OFF (Revolutionnary) and I installed 4Ext Recovery (which is really very usefull) !
Coolexe wrote that it's Stock Hboot compatible so I kept my Stock Hboot.
I've a 1GB Ext4 partition (thanks to 4EXt recovery).
The md5 is good, so I flash the ROM in the recovery (Stock Hboot, dalvik to SD, GSM version), the phone reboots and the ROM works.
BUT I can't use my Ext4 partition! The free space on my internal memory is only about 140 MB...
So I looked for a solution in the forum and after many wipe/reflash/reboot/wipe/reflash/reboot, I found the Amarullz'A2SDX script ! I flashed the 40ad2sdx-a2.zip file in the recovery and, fantastic, it shows in my internal memory 330 MB and 660 MB free.
So I install some apps, I use the web browser and I get a message telling me that the internal memory's full..Damned!
So, Could you suggest me a "A2SD" method that works with this great ROM ??? :fingers-crossed:
I unzipped the ROM package to see how it was made and I saw It already has a "initd" folder with a "40a2sd" file in it. Is it a clue?
Thanks in advance!
Fhlamby

The ext partition is working. It will not show in the internal memory. You will see that your memory will be filling a lot slower. Just continue using the ROM. You didn't have to install anything.
Reinstall the ROM, and use it like it is.

Thanks for this very quick response! it's just that simple ?!! I'll give a try tonight !

Woow, impressive! In fact, it was so simple! Seems to work! I installed a lot of apps: as you said, the internal memory fills very slower...But I have to install lots of applications to make it full...
Problem solved!
Thank you very very much!

Hi !
I have no more problems with A2SD but sometimes (at least once a day), the phone freezes. It can be when I open a game (angry birds or fruit slice) or even when I open the internet navigator ! The only solution I found: take off battery and reboot...It's the ONLY reproach I have for this ROM, so if I could solve it, it would be great!
Could it be a RAM problem (in this case, I don't know what I can do) or perhaps a kernel problem (I have this one : 2.6.35.14-gingercakes-0.9-avs, is there a bette one for this ROM) ?
Thanks in advance!
Fhlamby
Try droidzone kernels, prob the best sense kernels around.
Ok, thanks for the advice! Where can I find it and which one is the best for the Cool3D ROM ?

Google would be a good start. Also i never used that rom so i dunno. Droidzone has alot of kernels, all with different features. Have a read at them and test a few of them over the next few days
