MY IDEA:
I noticed that just before the phone completely blocks, you lose the first all links programs folder, then the links in the start menu and in the end no longer anything ... This reminds me of when in the very first rom windows mobile 5, the phone did the same thing ... The problem in that case was solved by changing drivers ( rewriting or fixing, i can't remember...) .. This would be consistent with all the problems of our Hermes... probably the rom were working, were built with different kitchen from those used for "not working Roms", and so on newer motherboards, the Roms work while those older no...
please don't spam and help us!
EDIT2: first schema up... but not enough data... (xls format)
I have the same port on my wizard and have tried most of the wm 6.1 Roms on my wizard and have not had 1 Hard Reset. Nor on my Faraday. The Hermes hard resets with almost all the roms.
I would like to see the following info for all people using WM6.1... I'm trying to build up a common scenario for people having issues with build 19209 - as different people seem to have different experiences with build 19199. Trying to get as much data as possible may help us out. Mine is below.

Perhaps a pattern may occur based on radio ROMs?

Tryed with different radios, - same results.
As i think - Its happens when i use some bluetooth features. Last time it frozen on GPSGate installation. System slowed so start menu opens 10 sec. When i reseted with stilys - frozen on first spalsh. Manual HR.
Before - also all HRS happened when i did something with BT - like
- attaching headset - system frozen - reset - SoD. - Manual HR.
- Opened GPS navigaton app - its started fine, worked few seconds then system slows - pressed reset - but is were HR
So, i got about 10-12 HRs in a week. and returned to old 6.0

Some things I've noticed: the problems seem to be related to a kind of "disk read error" accessing the storage memory. The first time it happened for me, using phone - after a call, went to look at call history. Call history came up, but clicking on number to go to contact failed (I assume history info was cached, but contact list wasn't...) Tried to soft reset to see if it fixed the history - bam, stuck on loading screen.
Another time, I was copying some files around between memory card and SD card using file explorer. At some point, read failures and insufficient space messages started popping up, and then all the files in the storage memory disappeared. Lockup followed soon after.
A disk read failure on the storage memory would also explain other people's symptoms like icons going missing, etc.
Edit: At the risk of inviting trouble, it has been 6 days since flashing with AT&T's ROM then back to CRC's 10.1, and the problems have not re-surfaced. Will post a new survey in a few days when I'm more confident.

After uploading WWE 4.02 rom , i was not able to install mapking mapasia..
Its giving installation was unsuccessful. Can any body help on this.
I have Formated my memory card and installed WWE 4.02 with the Cube.
These are my steps to install a cook ROM:
I have the Android 2.1 and it never rooted. So to install cook ROM, i will:
1.1>Format my SD to FAT32, Make a goldcard (using GoldCardTool_0.0.5) for it. (So it will generate specific folders into SD, right).
1.2>Root my phone
1.3>Install a suitable Radio on SD. *
1.4>Install cook ROM
1.5>Start my Desire for the first time in new ROM. Install ROM Manager from Market.
1.6>Do Partition SD to Ext2,3,4... by using ROM Manager for A2SD,... (right?) *
1.7>If i want to comeback to the ship ROM, i will downgrade ROM
Are these steps correctly?
I wonder how to:
+ Install Radio: Which place i will install? Do i need any app to do it?
+ Do partition SD: When do it? Before or after installing new cook ROM?
Thanks for your helps
You have got it correct mostly.
1.6 If you are installing a ROM which has A2SD+ (This is different from google's 2.2 A2SD), then you need to have your SD card partitioned to ext3 before flashing the ROM. There are two kinds with A2SD+
a. ROMs which have A2SD implemented -> for this ext3 partition has to be present in the sd card before flashing the rom
b. some ROMS are flashable without A2SD+, and after booting for the first time, you can flash A2SD+ as an add on. In this case, before flashing it, you can partition the sd card with rom manager
1.7 If you want to revert to the custom rom, flashing an RUU is the easiest way. Ensure you have a proper RUU so that you can get back to stock if necessary.
1.3 Again, some ROMS comses with radio as part of it. So flashing the radio separately is not required. Check the rom createators description/changelog for it.
And immediately after rooting with unrevoked 3.21 do a nandroid back up and save a copy of that back up in your PC since partitioning the card will wipe all data in it.
Well you are almost right about all the steps
>To install the Radio first you have to download the latest radio
here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=687464
copy it to your root folder of your sdcard , and using Rom manger Boot into recovery or else switch off the phone hold the upper volume button ad power on the devise and
enter in to the recovery mode ,,
>Once you are in the recovery mode browse the radio .zip file from the memory card and press yes
>it will get installed in a moment ,,and reboot the devise now be patient it will take a while..and several reboots..!
>Partitioning the sd card is your choice you can do it in recovery mode using clockwork recovery or else use rom manager to do this ,,select min 512mb.
do it after you install the rom and use A2sd to install apps to sd card.
Thanks alot. I'm using Official Froy now, and will try to root my Desire when the time is coming (I still scare to break down the mobile ).
Ah, if i want to root my Desire, do i need to comeback the stock Android 2.1?

Hi just let you know there is a new version of cool ace no3. few people had booting problem as you have... so try new one... see: pages 710-712 from cool ace thread + new radio
thanks will give it ago
Let Mr know if it helped... As more problem could be there
I have problem with that rom-v3 or with the kernel,i dont know for sure.
I deleted Deamon controlers, flashed gingercakes 0.6c kernel and installed No frills CPU control, selected max 998MHZ and min 128MHz,guvernor-smartassV2 and I/O - noop.
When i opening No frills CPU control sometimes it displays that the currebt freq is 1..114 and in stats displaying that 43% total was on 1.114 and 18% on 998MHz?
Sorry for bad english
nope that didn't work either
I have checked the ext4 layout and have the following
primary fat32 of 7gb followed by ext4 of 1gb. the flollowing flags are on fat32 lba
fixed it
Well I never - not sure which of these sorted the problem but hey
1. reflashed cmr2
2. replaced alpharev recovery with amnon-ra
3. used recovery to re-format and sd card and then re-partition in recovery
4. wiped everything again
5. flashed rom and hey presto it work
hopefully this may help others.
is it possible to dual boot roms like you would on a win7 and win8 machine? then be able to wipe #1 and flashing new rom without it effecting #2 or the ext sd
Disclaimer: Below is based on my understanding of material posted in forums. I am not responsible for you breaking your device after following the below.
Since the day I bought an Oppo Find 7, I have transitioned from stock Color OS to unified storage based Roms and then to LVM based Roms. I have the 32 GB model 7086 or 7 or 7s as it is referred and had purchased a 128 GB external memory card to go.
- Storage structure on stock: 2.95 GB app + 23 odd GB phone + 119 GB external memory card.
While traversing back from LVM to stock, following are the steps:
- Flash the removelvm .zip file from the recovery. Preferably place the file in the external SD card.
Since I was on coldbird's unified storage before lvm, after the above step, the storage structure would be- 26 odd GB app + 100 MB phone + 119 GB external memory card. Now with 100 MB, you cannot flash a rom. So now go to fastboot mode and run Coldbird's partition tool. After the phone boots up, the storage structure would be-2.95 GB app + 23 odd GB phone + 119 GB external memory card.
All this while am on LVM based omni ROM. So now, copy a color os zip to phone storage and boot to fastboot mode. Connect phone to PC and run one of the many recovery installer batch files to install stock recovery. Once done, boot to stock recovery and wipe data and flash stock.
Now while on unified storage, if I had run coldbird's partition tool to restore it to stock partition structure before flashing setuplvm, I would skip using the partition tool on the way back.
Now that am on stock, I can directly flash setup lvm after flashing a lvm mod recovery and then flash omni. Let me enjoy stock for a week.
You dont need a lvm mod recovery. You can use twrp 2.8.0.1 official. It is lvm aware
