How to Extract (backup) current rom from Vogue - Touch CDMA Windows Mobile ROM Development

Hey all
Is there a way to backup / Extract the whole rom from the Vogue? I'm looking to flash and updgrade a couple of devices but I need a backup in case something goes wrong, any way to do that? With an apps, with mmty/putty, to extract the whole .nhb image with radio, os, SPL and SPI and all that?
BTW, I was woundering, I've been playing around with a Titan for a while with upgrades, radios, kitchen and all, does the Vogue can be upgraded the same way (with MicroSD)
Thanks!

Definitive ROM dump/restore or NBF-decrypt method? Splash?

Has their been any definitive development on how to inject our own splash screens into the Universal's ROM either by 1. decrypting the NBF file, injecting a splash screen, re-encrypting the NBA file to NBF, then flashing, or 2. dumping the ROM to an SD card, dumping the SD card into a file, injecting the splash screen, etc., or 3. installing a file in the Windows folder (similar to previous HTC devices, i.e. Splash1.nb)?
The Qtek ROM seems to be the cleanest and being able to remove that last touch of branding would make it a true universal Universal.
Anyone?
I know for certain it's not encoded in the Extended Rom NBF as it is in Blue Angel, Magician, Alpine... Cause I have a decoder/encoder for NBF for Universal machines.
Must be in a cab file within the rom somewhere...

Can you provide the decryption/encryption utility?
I'm sure I can find it in the nk_.nbf file.
Ahhhh, could be there - but it's pretty unusual (from my limited experience).
I've only ever encountered it in the Extended ROM image ....
I'll post the utility in a couple of days - I'd like to finish the help file first, so it'll save me cross-posting it everywhere.
If you do need it quickly, I'll be happy to pm it to you - and you can help me test it

Ext Rom and Exe Rom

Ok I don't want to sound like a retard here but there are a few things that I really want to find out if you guys don't mind.
1). Extended Rom is located in the hidden partition of PPC Devices, that the device installs after a hardreset right? Where is my Device ROM located? The one I flash onto it, is it in the hidden partition or another place(as hidden partition content can be deleted)?
2). What about the ROM files that comes in the *.exe format, those that can flash your device?
3). How do I backup my current ROM to a *.exe format so I can go back if I have to?
Thanks a million!!!!!!
Ok, here you go:
1) It is in a partition of its own, not the same one as extended ROM. And most of it is visible as your windows directory.
2) No such thing. Rom files can be NBF or BIN (also some other NB extensions). If you have an exe file, it is the setup app that has the ROM image stashed some ware (resource maybe). The exe does the work, but it is not a ROM image.
3) As you understand from answer 2 you can't. You can backup your image to SD, but it is somewhat complex and depends on the device and version of bootloader. There are instructions in the WiKi.
Warning!
If you are new to ROM changing you should only use official update and head the warnings about loosing all data, having power connected and battery full during update and not being able to downgrade (without some hacked software).
Also using custom ROM will void your warranty.

Clone phones? Dump rom & ram

Question: Is there any way of cloning a phone, including rom etc? Basically, I have a HTC Typhoon set up exactly as I want it running WM6. Now Im going to have to upgrade a few of these so is there any way of cloning the entire WM6 install to the new phone? Ie dump the rom & ram and write it to the next phone?
you can use a backup program to backup your settings. The ROM itself is device specific and wouldn't translate correctly. The setting s might not work either, depending on the phone

Creating nbh file for deploying

Hello all,
I work for a company which uses android htc g1's with data collection software at events around the us. we currently have to install the software and configure each phone individually which can take a long time considering we have 100s of phones. Is there a way i can create an nbh file, like the dreaimg.nbh, which has the system, radio, boot, etc on it so i can just deploy the phone by flashing that file, i've looked around and haven't seen a way to create the file, also we would ideally like to do this without having to root the phone, and I know when i flash the dreaimg.nbh to downgrade the phone it doesn't need root access.
Thanks

[Q] flashing windows mobile to android through usb

So I have a broken sd card port, which does not read my sd cards anymore. And I was already on scoot's latest android build, but what do you do when something is broken? Well, you go back to factory settings and for our blessed HTC Kaiser or in my case MDA Vario III, this means going back to the abomination called WM (and to make matters even worse it is tmobile themed). But it seems that this also doesn't fix the problem and the sd card is still not read. It does say it needs to format the sd card for it to work, which I then give the permission to do, but it is never able to finish the format.
So my question is fairly simple: how to flash android on your WM device with usb?
thanks in advance!
( I am really stupid, going back to WM )
**I have looked for other guides, but they all assume you to already have android installed on your phone**
It sounds like the ribbon cable is broken for the SD card. The only fix is to replace it, unless there is some other problem with the main board.
So how am I suppose to replace this "riboon cable" do I need to buy some extinct hardware specifically for the kaiser (which probably is impossible to get?) or can I do it some other way. And is there really no way to flash Android on the kaiser via usb, since I think I can manage with only a couple of apps on the internal storage...
Also I have already tried to flash android on my htc kaiser:
- I dragged and dropped the KAISIMG.NBG over the installer of my original t-mobile rom, but somehow it just installs the original rom again and not the KAISIMG.NBG
AFAIK, the only 2 ways to flash anything to a Kaiser is through the SD card or USB port. Noone (to my knowledge) has ever created a RUU-flashable Android package for the Kaiser or any other device, which would be your only option.
Given the constraints on the RAM built into the Kaiser, you would have to build a pretty small package for the install, maybe 55-60MB, use Oli's NBH creator and (hopefully) build an installable package that can be sent via USB with an unsigned RUU updater.
If someone wants to take on the task of stripping an androidinstall package, extracting it and repacking it into a RUU installable NBH, feel free. I know it can be done with a kernel package, but that is only 3MB and goes to the first partition. All the other files would have to go to the correct partitions as well (/system, /data, /cache, etc.).
So how am I suppose to make an installable package? I have the file to get WM to Android, the kernel, and scoots android install package, which I have stripped down to 67 mb.
What should I do with these files? Do you have some kind of instructions?
You would have to figure out how to not only partition the NAND, but direct the kernel and all files to their appropriate partitions.
Someone must have some info on how to do this...
