How to get o2 Homezone indicator - HTC Excalibur

Is there any cab or something to get an o2 Homezone indicator?

im not even sure i have any clue what you are talking about...at the risk of sounding lazy, why dont you give a little more info...my google button is broken.

It's for the German o2 Network. So you can see if you're in your homezone or not. Calling withing the homezone is much cheaper for example.

Can you please elloborate more what this HZPlugin means and how and where ??

Maybe masochistic: Anyone have the O2 active software?

This might be a bit masochistic of me, but I really want to try the "O2 active" software on my Blue Angel (not an O2 branded one). Does anyone have it ?
here you go....
cheerz
iMate PDA2K (XDAIIs)
I have an Imate PDA2K, I tried the O2 Active Software you made available, but I'm guessing it was for the XDAII? Do you or anybody else have the o2 Active software for the XDAIIs.
Even better, does anybody have a version of the XDAIIs rom that will load on my PDA2K, without giving country ID errors?
Umm ..
What's O2 active?
The o2 active does not work. How do I activate it?

voip

hi ,
i have an htc s620 original device.
my isp has now voip,
with an installer from firsthand, but intsall tells me it isnt for this device.
so its maybe cause i have wm5,
can i install voip on wm5
or do i need to upgrade?
can i use the voip tool on the forum to setup this?
i have all the settings..
thanks!
maybe worth to mention,
i tried the tool, but it wont start, i get an error so i guess i need WM6
so looked for the tmo wm6 update but gives ERROR [244] : INVALID MODEL ID
Looked further, and i saw it needed to be in other state or something:s
so i tried to downgrade the bootloader, but trying this i got the same INVALID MODEL ID error ,
so not sure with the downgraded blr iff it will work cause of it :s
now i have an original branded HTC, it is sim unlocked, but cid, i dont know how to check this, and im not willing to pay imeicheck (or what is the name) cause shortly wm 6 will be availble on htc it self.
but i really need to use voip on my phone soon (its a beta test for my isp, it gives me free calls to anywhere so )
so anyone any ideas?
on voip or upgrading to wm6?
still no answer from any1,
but in meanwhile i cid unlocked it,
modified tmobile rom,
so i was able to flash my original gtc s620 to tmob wm6.
but i still get an error on voip,
and now i have a wrong keyboard setting and st9 thats freaking me out..
anyone?
ok so it seems no body knows a sh** about it
for those who are interested;
im missing those files to get it working :
# ipdialplan.xml
# dnsapi.dll
# voipphonecanvas.dll
# rtcdll.dll
after downloading the wm6voip.cab im still missing them.
so can anyone check his device to see you own those files? i really need it

and is it normal that the wm 6 sip config tool does not work on s620, cause some people say yes, other no :s
Had developed this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=305398&highlight=voipiser try it, it's for smartphones.
Ka.
hi Ka,
that tool just rocks!
but still not able to voip
i allways dail out on cellular
my today screen says internet calling : available
so it doesnt change to the name i put in
getting nuts on it.
the strange thing is,
i have nog gprs active,wifi shut down, and cell to and the internet calling keeps saying available
in youre tool there are not many thing i can put in.
so i gues:
provider: there i can type in what i want, it does not matter?
userid, yes thats my log in name like my sip client for pc
password, idem above
proxy in my case netphone.telenet.be:5060?
but it doesnt do a thing,
even not when i first remove in system/voip the settings,
tried it with sip.freeipcall to,
but even that doesnt work...
ive read youll have to change ipdialplan.xml or something to,
but that cant make a difference on the available thing?
im i really missing something?
thanks!
i´m still not able to connect,
can anyone tell me a provider, where from it is sure it works?
then i can try it out ,
And something strange :
when i turn wifi off, it says available
wifi on, it says available and after a few seconds its says not available
can this be that there is something wrong in the config files?
I tried couple of providers. Managed to connect to some of them, some didn't even get to the provider name showing (Only Available) as you said.
Even though I managed to connect to some of them, no call actually went through. I read reports of people saying it was working perfectly fine, would be curious as well to know with which providers.
The one I tried are:
VoipBuster - Connected - No calls
Babble - Connected - No Calls
SipPhone (GizmoProject) - Connected - No Calls
PBXES - Didn't connect properly, showed connected on PBXES.com status page but not on phone.
Voxalot (kinda of virtual PBX asl well) - Connected - No calls.
Tried both on a S620 and S710.
Thanks,
Ka.
so actually the chance i can get it to work is very small..
mmmzzz..
Maybe thats because the voip files needed are ripped from a different rom
then the actually s620 rom.
so it could be that i configured everything ok in the xml,
but something is wrong with my rom software.
any idea why i get avaible when i have i have my wifi turned off?
Is there a way i can see iff it is really connected?
cause i never have connected or the name i putted in for the provider...
like on pc you see software starting..
maybe there is a software package like on pc for this to?
Ow yes, no i think on it, you say no calls,
first of all, were you allowed to call, cause mostly it is free to call from sip to sip, but not allowed without visa to call to other numbers..
and did you think on the ipdailplan, to change this to youre area?
Hi,
thanks for your tips but all of the Providers I tested with my S620 and S710 were providers I normally used with my ATA & PBX. So these are providers with which I normally call landlines and mobiles and that have credit.
The IPDialplan is another good guess, although tested more than a couple of them, all of them were reported to be perfect by others members of this forum. Even did modify one myself to bring it to less complexity and make sure all the calls starting with a + were sent to VOIP (all my contacts are stored in International format).
The DialPlan would check for +xxxxx, remove the + and put 00 in front (VOIP doesn't like the + sign). This would fail as well. So, prolly it has to do with the ROM and as you say with the fact the files were not meant for the Smartphones but ripped from don't know where... The only thing that puzzles me is hearing that people got it working fine and was just wondering with which provider they managed to get that.
On the other hand, don't pay too much attention to the Today Plugin. Even if really connected, it won't show "Selected" as it should but "Searching". You would know you're actually connected because of the VOIP icon appearing in the top line (the ICONBAR).
I really wanted to use my phone as a SIP phone, my landline is connected to VOIP and would have been nice to use my cell connected to the same PBX, place calls using same trunks, transfer calls, etc, etc.
Unfortunalty doesn't seem to work for me.
I use Skype now, works pretty well... Too bad SIP doesn't and no other nice software is available that does SIP on Smartphones.
Ka.
Hi Ka,
thanks for the fast response,
an idiote question,
From what country are you?
The Ipdailplan sound a bit difficult to me,
maybe you could upload a good and working one for me,
Other thing, i´m not sure it would make anything to do with it.
Just been mailing with some one about SIP,
he also mentioned that it could be that the firewall/nat from youre wifi router could cause the problem.
I´ll try to dail HTC support this evening from usa ,
maybe they can tell me some info on the voip cabs, cause im sure that something is wrong with it.
Also would like to ask you about the config tool you made.
is it possible to add an sip: user name in it cause i only got fields, provider, user, password and proxy, nothing more..
No big deal, but it would finish youre tool.
And what about transforming a pocketpc tool to smartphone?
im not a programmer, but maybe that one is possible?
Can you tell me what rom you are using you are using, still doubting i upgraded to tmob beta rom :s
just want to get the sip icoon in the bar, so i know its not me
cheers
i found this too , coul it make a change?
note: if no joy, try making the following registry setting change:
HKLM\System\VoIP\SIP
EnablePort5060 = 1
but how do i change the registry?
finally i found it.. it works, but not 100 pct correctly, but its a beginning...
so my little tutorial to help people out...
first make the update to windows mobile 6
(just called to htc it self, wm 6 htc woul be there in few days till 2 months,
so iff not work look how to update to the tmob wm6)
second
download the WM6voip.cab
third
register a voipbuster account
4th
make the xml, like this (changed my user and pwd)
<wap-provisioningdoc>
<characteristic type="VoIP">
<parm name="SIPSettings"
value="<provision key='1232ab01' name='VoipBuster'>
<provider name='VoipBuster' />
<user account='olivier***' password='*****'
uri='siplivier***@sip.voipbuster.com'
allowedauth='digest'/>
<sipsrv addr='sip.voipbuster.com:5060' protocol='UDP' role='proxy'>
<session party='First' type='pc2pc' />
<session party='First' type='pc2ph' />
</sipsrv>
<sipsrv addr='sip.voipbuster.com' protocol='UDP' role='registrar'/>
</provision>" />
</characteristic>
</wap-provisioningdoc>
5th
make it a cab file
:> cabarc N voip.cab _setup.xml
6th
install the cab...
and youll notice the screen inbternet call will tell:
voipbuster: searching....
just dial with example 003215666666 (i live in belgium, su its an example)
and the icoon above in the screen show a phone with wifi symbol.
so thats it
only things i have:
not all phonecalls i make ring
first call i could make it rings with normal speaker,
second call i made runs on handsfree speaker..
got to find a solution to that one now,
and i also need to change it back to my voip provider in needed,
but now i know it should work
also need to look to get rid of the available thing, , maybe i can change one of the wm6voipcab settings.. to a much nicer word , like connected :d
Can it be that you cant use an username with a @ in it?
when i use ka´s config tool it gives an error:s
cause voipbuster i can log in very easy with the tool,
but still the client i need i cant connect to,
there my user is [email protected]; voipbuster works with just user xxx and not [email protected] :s
maybe thats the problem :s
Ka, can you confirm me this please
Have you guys got voip working on the s620 now ?

Lost O2 Settings on XDA Orbit

Hi Guys, 1st post and maybe the worst?! I have just upgraded to the ARTEMIS TOUCH 2.1 WWE, and I forgot to save the File/Folder called O2 UK Settings, it had the O2 Ringtone and GPRS settings etc.. Could someone post a copy please. Many thanks, still finding my way round. V. Nice work though.
u mean these settings?
http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html
looks like all the wap + gprs settings for all providers in the UK
doesnt have the ringtone tho
No, I have seen this site on my search, I think what I am looking for was an actual programme that was found in the programme functions that took you to a blue screen asking if you wished to reset to o2 settings now.

Should this model S620 have Wi Fi?

I have done the obvious steps of googling and searching the forums so please excuse me if I have missed the answer to this question but here goes....
I bought a T-Mobile branded HTC S620 on ebay, the advert says it has WiFi but the device never showed this ability at all. I followed instructions here to update to the Kavana 6.1 Rom but still no Wi Fi. I was wondering if anyone can tell me should this actually have Wi Fi capability?
The technical details are:
CPU: TI OMAP850
Speed: 201 MHz
RAM: 64 MB
FLASH: 128 MB
Model Name: HTC-S620
Radio Version: 4.1.13.51_03.07.90
Can`t find a way to display further information, if I run the freeware program WifiIO it says "sorry no WLAN hardware found" and I`m thinking it doesn`t have the hardware built in
There is a code underneath the battery that reads EXCA210 if this helps?
Thanks
Dave
Of course it does. Did you check on CommManager? If you flashed the phone to 6.1 then I assume you also followed the steps to allow SMS, MMS and Internet to work? If you haven't, look into that. If you have... then it sounds weird. I am sure I read something similar to your problem around recently.
I just got a Dash from T-Mobile and I do have wifi, so yes you should definately have it also.
That`s what I thought, using a registry editor I can see that under HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\CommManager\WLAN it has two values
one says DEFAULT and in brackets (value not set) and the other is the device name. I have been reading in one post that maybe the T Mobile models don`t have wlan hard ware. I looked at the exact wording on the ebay advert and it says "put wi fi and Bluetooth 2.0 as a extra item" whatever that means
It does not show in the comm manager though
I have just found that in the folder WINDOWS is a file called RemoveWiFi so I would assume there must be a way to make it enabled again?
Busted wifi yet another ebay Dump, Busted wifi S620.
I think there may be a way to re enable it and hopefully someone who knows more than me about the subject can help.
I`m guessing the key is to do with the removewifi file. I opened it in notepad and it contains a load of text including bits saying to enable just 6 items (whereas with wifi enabled there should be seven I think on the manager screen).
Of course it could just be that thats the default setting for the Kavana 6.1 rom however it appears from hours of googling that the 210 (my model) is the Dash from T Mobile and not the hard ware disabled T Mobile mail so I`m hoping
So maybe if someone can tell me how to edit the removewifi file (is it safe to do so?) I may be able to enable the feature

if you loaded kavana's rom the wifi manager should be at the bottem where it says settings under photo and you just scroll left or right and it should say wireless manager : wifi off click the silver button and it will open your comm manager then you can turn it on...if it isn't on there maybe you messed up when you loaded the rom, re-download the rom then re-boot the rom back onto your phone..
Thanks, I know the comms manager but it shows only bluetooth and the phone options, followed the instructions for rom properly and image appears to be fine as everything else works.
Its supposed to be the T-Mobile Dash according to the sellers advert, he refuses to answer my queries, but if it ish that should have had wi fi and when I got it there was no wi fi on the t mobile rom eithr so maybe I just got ripped off by a smeghead on ebay
Still nice phone though
I don't want to look like a cretin, but I have seen on ebay knock off exact copies of phones such as the Nokia N96 and they all lacked wifi. Maybe you got a knock off HTC Dash hence why no wifi? Just a thought.
I'm not aware of any T-Mob Dash that was sold without WiFi.
Here's an idea: Reflash the phone with T-Mob's latest ROM and see if the WiFi gets installed and can be enabled. If it is/can, then you know something fubar'd when you flashed the non-OEM ROM.

I am pretty sure I read somewhere that the MDA Mail variant of the Excalibur sold by T-Mobile in Germany & UK did not have onboard Wi-Fi
Not sure if cross-flashing ROM can enable it - or if the hardware is not in there.
yyour wifiinit.lnk mustve gotten deleted, thats exactly what happens if i remove mine from windows/startup folder. im guessing that if u either reflash it, hard reset or idk if someone uploaded it for you tt download that the issue will be fix
The original T Mobile rom didn`t allow wifi either, it had Windows Mobile 5 on then. I will have to see how to create a wifiinit.lnk file and where to place it.
Hi!
I own both a unbranded HTC S620 and the German MDA mail. Im a alert by the fact that u stated that the model name under the battery as EXCA210. Because that is exactly what I have in my German wifi-disabled MDA mail. The wifi-enabled HTC S620 on the other hand reads EXCA200.
However, it is very easy in fact to determine if your Excalibur (whatever the model) is one of those "handicapped" MDA mails.
How does the case look? Is it all black? Not like the new US Dash but a metallic, black paint on the front cover? Plus, a MDA mail only has the "Designed for Windows Mobile" logo on the back and nothing else!
Usually, all the ROMs automatically detect whether WiFi is available or not. If the WiFi option is shaded grey and not applicable in the CommManager then I'm very sorry but to tell u that either the WiFi Module is broken or you've got one of the MDA mails. I can approve of that since I am easily able to check this for both of my phones.
Googling for EXCA210 and finding that it is a T-Mobile Dash doesnt change the fact...that is usually some confusion about that. Even on the Excalibur-Wiki and the smartphone-db, they list the MDA mail as wifi-enabled which it is, obviously not.
EDIT: Oh, and btw. There is no way of enabling the WiFi on a MDA Mail. It simply lacks the WiFi-onboard module!
I have to admit the seller who won`t reply to me at all says its a T Mobile Dash with optional Wi Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 in his advert on ebay, however it seems to me to be an MDA instead.
Its a UK one, jet black as you describe complete with ten silver numeric keys and I`m thinking the seller just is a rip off merchant!
Alright mate, then u got a MDA mail..sorry to hear that. It's not a bad phone though..its a q nice contrast to all the other silver ones...but yet, very disappointing withouth WiFi. To be honest, I reckon the seller didnt even know what he was selling, and just copied the data from the normal HTC S620. Very little people know about this crucial difference between the two..however, he should have been one of those..
Have you got a link to the bespoken product on ebay?
HTC MDA Mail
Is this your phone? http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/03/12/t-mobile_ships_mda_mail/ I got to say that I really like the looks of it, even though it doesn't have wifi, is a nice phone. Is there anything else different from the dash? regarding apps and features.
Yes thats the one roloracer.
Yes the looks are really cool i admit, but its bears the typical HTC problem as other re-branded/re-modelled phones for T-Mobile : the colour wears off very rapidly. I had that problem with my Amadeus (SDA music for T-Mo GER) that the white paint came off really easily. For the MDA Mail u basically end up with the normal HTC S620 cover underneath with still little bits of the original colour scattered on the front cover...makes it look very roughed up..not nice
Apart from that, everything is the same. I cant really remember about the Apps because I unlocked and upgraded the ROM very quickly.. But another advantage is that those MDA mails were manufactured in the HTC plant in Taiwan...so its said that those usually show a better component quality.

So unless you absolutely need the wifi , then you're not missing anything by having an mda mail instead of a dash/excalibur.

TouchPro2 by T-Mobile - Remove Roaming Warning

Hi all,
my phone shows something I can't google.
When turning on the device, or - thats really worse - every time the phone looses connection and searches for providers, it falls back to T-Mobile germany, which is in Austria quite obviously not present.
Then it throws a Warning-message (even when in sleep mode) stating that
"For roaming services additional costs may occur"
Original German "Für den Roaming-Dienst fallen wahrscheinlich zusätzliche Kosten an".
The phone is not locked but branded.
This feature is annoying because the phone is inactive while showing the message and I regularly miss calls while driving.
Haven't found anything yet, might a flash to a non-branded ROM help??
Has anybody some ideas, haven't found anything in the registry yet.
best regards & thanks in advance,
Reinhard
