Is there a decent MAME for our Dashes/Excalibur/S620/S621?

I would love to play again: Golden Axe, Outrun, After Burner....
Is there a good mame to run on this device?
Also, I´m having a strong difficulty to find good 320x240 games (java or non java). Can anyone help?

SmartGear is the best available i.m.o the only retro console doesn't play is snes.

Looks like the developer is working on the SNES and Genesis compatibility and released a new beta to try out with some new features. I've been waiting for an update on this thing! Check the link below:

Try reading this post(below) and it will link you to the different emulators for the dash. (I didn't feel like retyping and backtracking all of my posts, but this should help!) There are some MAME ones, and I have heard some good things about them but have not tried it myself. Sorry to bump mods!!

are you really playing ARCADE games on it? i have the software but i havent tried any MAME (arcade?? i.e. metal slug, nba jam, turtles in time) on it? it really works arcade graphics style??

If it runs on a Pocket PC, Why not on our dashes/Excalibur/S620/S621? Don´t underestimate the power of our devices, my friend.
On pocket PC it runs OK, but so far I couldn´t find any for SmartPhone, but I´m pretty sure it exists. Just don´t know where... maybe someone does.

there is a version that works on the smartphone. i have it. but it really sucks and can really only play extremely basic games like ms pacman and such with any kind of playable speed. of course the one i have is from 2 or 3 years ago. i'd post it here, but its truly not worth your time to try it. trust me.

you want to create something revolutionary that everybody will want to use, yet you don't know what it is and you are asking for ideas :/
if you truly want to do something for WM community, don't waste your time on yet another home screen or shell replacement. We have plenty of those already.
Create a framework so that other developers could code apps around. Make that framework flexible, look good, light and fast. Maybe even extend .NETCF35 with a new UI widgets.

The above post is a joke lol. Bet he can't make his woman happy. Second i am 16 so what do you want it to say? I have my own company and make millions? I just thought it would be nice to have something i wanna use. I avoid my tp2 if i can. I upgraded from the original so i can say they both suck. I worked very hard to get them phones and wm just keeps letting me down and down again. all i want is a flippin nice music player. That's it, i can't even find that so yeah I'm gonna make my own. So what at least i can do something like that. Can you?

That's amazing... A 16 year old who just over a month ago was asking HOW DO I SHOT -- ehh, I mean -- WRITE CODE? is already writing games that blow triple A titles like NFS Underground away. Meanwhile, I'm 17 and I can only write Java or C# apps for smartphones. Now I feel under-accomplished. :[

What really pisses me off...

Know what really pisses me off?
There are hardly any good games in the market. Most of the good games are not found in the market as has been covered a thousand times before. But what really bothers me is that there is really no good way of viewing the entire selection of games available on android because of the fact that they are independent developers and companies such as Gameloft and Concrete Soft.
Anyone know of a good source of information about games available?

The links provided in the google search only show market games. I'm looking for games not found in the market such as Need for Speed and those types. Mostly 3D games.

The megaupload links in the suggested link obviously don't work but the mirror links at the bottom do work. I just downloaded castlevania and tested. It works, kinda laggy tho.

I usually use cool Roms for all my emulators

Is there an APP to swap touchpad controls to dpad?

Some games I don't enjoy playing on the touchpad and I think it would be better on the dpad. Is there an app out there that can change the mapping?

Cut the attitude pal. You don't know squat about what I've done for anyone, nor do you know anything of what he does as you just said. I don't care about your opinion or how you class him. While I wouldn't classify myself as a dev (for this device) I do post quite a bit here and try to help (except when people continue to push out stupidity). Point being though his contribution or mine has nothing to do with the point of my post.
My point was dev or not posts like that get taken on a run by this place. its why we have so many threads that won't die about how the PLAY is going to have Native PSP emulation and crap like that.

technically a Android dev is anyone who has created something for Android well I have created apps for Android although for personal use.
well I never said it was simple, I am creating a programme for windows and I decided I wanted to add a feature so I did. now I need to work out how to make it work. same principal.

I will apologize and say my original post was a brash and I should have explained myself better, the second part of my reply to DeanBoro is what I really meant.
My point is the same, I've made android programs too, but have no idea what would go into trying this (I haven't taken a look at the SDK at all).
Posting "it could be done" with out some sort of backup is what I am pointing out. If you're gonna post something like that do some research. You said yourself you don't dev for this phone either so you don't know how. Otherwise as I said the dreamers will have it already working and 30 posts on it in a week. Look around this forum you know I am right.

But I did say it possible cause any one could see it is possible, a App could read and redirect movements however it would require skills and may not work in general use like gaming due to lag many apps already do this do this but not for touchpads. I don't. need to do research cause essentially it is possible.

I believe anything is possible with the right programming. Feasible on the other hand is a different story, and in this case it could be simple or something that just plain isn't worth the time you'd need to put in.
Just leaving an open ended "but it is possible" from someone such as yourself that has stature in this community can lead to what I said, which just leads to more and more useless posts here (not by you).

Anyways...
It would be possible, just like it would be possible to redirect dpad to touchscreen.
You would need root.
All input/output goes through /dev/input/eventXX
You would make a service which reads from eventXX and when it receives something translate it and put it in eventYY.
The problem is that this is not part of the SDK, so what works for one device, will not work with another.
Or you can make your own IME (input method), that its part of the SDK. No root required.
This its how Change Shoulder Buttons and OnLive Helper work.

Mind you as I said before I'm not experienced in programming with this phones SDK, but the "analog" touchpad controls basically mimic "analog" touchscreen inputs (I put analog in quotes because we all know its not really analog), but those controls operate differently than simple key inputs (such as the camera helper) that remaps a specific coordinate event input to a button.
I would think that the IME way would be the only way that this (in theory) could actually work. But that I would assume also depend on how the game in question handles inputs. As we have seen some games are far different than others.

I would also love an app that could do this, i hate hate hate hate hate the touchpads in games!!! I bought my xperia to play games, but i can't play all of them like battlefield, deadspace and other because of the stupid touchpads. Worst thing ever. I would pay no matter the price for an app that could change from touchpads to dpads.
