Windows Mobile 6.1 Text Message Vibe - HTC Excalibur

I just upgraded to 6.1 and on my previous version when i gotta text it just pulsed 3 times but now its like a full ringer and its long when i'm sleeping it sounds like a jet-ski driving over my face and its quite annyoing is there any way to change it? thanks

Go to start/settings/profiles and highlight the profile that you want to edit. Select menu/edit and you can change the style of vibration. I believe there is vibrate, pulsing vibrate, and multiple vibrate.

Vibrate in WM6

I been using several different cooked WM6 rom for the past few months and the vibrate changes in WM6.
In WM5 the vibrate is like one long continually vibrate for about 6 seconds or so but whenever I Flash WM6 roms the vibrate will start pusling like 1 second then pause then 1 second and pause for about 6 second total.
I am not feeling the pulsing vibrate or keep missing it when it in my thick pants pocket or jacket and I been trying to find a setting or regedit to restore the vibrate back to one continually vibrate like it was in WM5.
I have search with no luck and does anyone know how to change the vibrate pulse and timing in WM6 or setting for the vibrate?
I know it WM6 rom because vibrate goes back to what is was when I go back to WM5.
Thank You
Bill
Have you tried going to phone>menu>options>phone and set the keypad setting to long tones and the ring type to vibrate and ring, this is how I have mine set up and it is one long vibrate.

Is there a way to have different vibrations for different notificaitons?

so i often have the dash on vibrate but it is the same for a text and email. is there a way to set vibration for email to like a pulsing vibration or something where i can tell that it is an email while the phone is still in my pocket? are there any programs that will let me do this if it isn't built in somewhere?

Vibration Notification messed up after update

Originally, the Dash notified me of a new text message by giving three soft virbrations
buzz-buzz-buzz
After upgrading to WinMo 6.1, it now notifies me with one very long, very strong, and very LOUD vibration
BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!
This is driving me insane. Does anybody know how to get the old style vibration back? The soft vibration was one of my favorite features of this phone before.

Settings\Profiles Menu and Edit on the profile you are using then go to notification type and you have a choice of the vibrates.

vibration pattern

does anyone know the registry key for the vibration pattern, ive been looking and looking, but i just cant seen to find it, or does anyone know of an application that will do the same thing, thanks btw, this post is from my tilt 2, via opera 9.7
I would be curious to know this as well, the standard length for the ring vibration is much too long in my opinion.
I agree, and the zzz zzz zzz that the phone does when its on vibrate and you get an SMS is annoying and it lags sometimes too
i want to know how to change the amount of times my phone vibrates because whenever i get a text message my phone vibrates 3-4 times i want it to vibrate once or twice!

Basic Android Notification question

I'm new to Android, coming from WM6.1. I am unable to find info on something I suspect is basic: is there a way to turn off audible notifications, and can I put a shortcut to the setting on a homescreen?
My EVO kept going off last night, seemed like every hour or so, to remind me of someone's birthday. I was too tired to get up and turn if off.
Can I turn those kind of notifications off temp without turning off the ringer?
Maybe someone could point me where to find this info? did a search b4 work but found nothing.
Don't have the Evo in front of me, but I believe if you go to your calendar, click on an event. Go to menu, more, then settings. From there you will have the option about alerts and what not.
Well, yes, thats true. However, that supposes you REMEMBER there is an event coming, which kind of negates the need to put it in your calender in the first place.
With my WinMo 6.1 Fuze I was able to set both the ringer volume and the notification volume separately, simply using the volume rocker on the side of the phone. so every night I would turn the notification volume down and leave the ringer volume alone.
I use quick settings as my default settings from the market for things such as volume and brightness because it allows you to keep it in your notification shade.
if you had that installed you would do as follows >volume control>and then slide the volumes down individually for alerts, ringer, notifications, etc. I think that is what you are trying to do. then you could set it back.
