HELP ME - COUNTRY ID ERROR

HOW I CAN UPDATE MY JASJAR FROM JASJAR_WWE_11353_137_10301 TO JASJAR_ITA_11346_126_10301_ship??

Just unpack/extract the JASJAR_ITA_11346_126_10301_ship file into a directory.
donwload the attached file to this same directory
Run it and the Country ID error will come out, run it again right after, and it should work

what you mean with "download the attached file to the same directory"....which file??

thanks, but the update is ok without country error, but after the reset the screen is black with word: serial and v1.0

sorry...i found out the file you put for download but if i run the rom twice after have the rom and the file in the same directory i have the same error message....coul you please help me?

I've got the .exe file and it simply wants to self-install in a directory with my JJ. So, which directory should I try to install this then?

Just extract the rom required using winrar or similar (normally done by right clicking on the file and selecting extract)
donwload the file "MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe"
Copy this file into the directory
Run it and the Country ID error will come out, run it again right after, and it should work

Italian to English
I purchased an imate jasjar in Italy last week. The salesperson confirmed that I can change the language from Italian to English. But when I contacted the Imate people they say it is not possible, Can someone guide me?

Hi hanhha2000, the required rom that I wanted to flash is with a .exe extension behind, how can we use winrar with this type of file, hope you can enlighten me as I have also ran in Country ID Error problems, thank you.

Will this technique work for my i-mate JAMin? im just afraid to screw up my device completely cos iv heard that that can happen

Hi,
The way i use is run the update rom and when appear the Country error, open the windows explorer and copy the folder in the temporary folder to a new location, then put the file ...noID.exe in the new folder.

HTC universal SIM unlocker v.1.rar - canot open- HELP

I register on buzz site and downloaded rar form buzz ste, but when i try to open rar I got message: "file is corupt" - radio file, but another 2 files are good opened.
Can someone has another link or maybe I need some another RAR program, or what?

Use winrar. I think there are copies of the unlocker on the xda devs ftp as well. Or you could buy it off ebay

I used WinRAR 3.51 and WinRAR 3.60 beta5, but got same message:
"HTC_Uni_SIM_Unlock_v1.rar: CRC failed in HTC_Uni_Unlock_v1\HTC_Universal_Radio_for_SIMunlock_v0.00.00.rar. The file is corrupt
What is wrong? Help!

Whichever browser you use, clear the cache. You seem to have a corrupt download.

Another way for downloaded this RAR file:
I used doownloader manager GetRiht 6.0a and I opened this RAR files very well

Windows update cab....

I see many people's whant the stantar Microsoft windows update in cooked rom's.
So i manage to make a cab with all the files,
in my device work's well.
Also with this .reg file you can enable the customer feedback in settings menu.
Just rename the .txt to .reg and run it in your device with your fav registry explorer.
Try it and post your result.
(Sorry to open a new thread but i didn't know where to post it so all user's can find it).
Work's only in wm6

I never see the audio booster work's in trinity device...
So i dont know if it is work's at all.
I try some ways but with no sucess...
Maybe someone else can help with audio booster.

Cab file no longer shows for me
Was there, clicked on it and told it's not there.
Scratch that it's back again... Funny 5 mins I guess.

First Copy The file config.zip on you SD Card.
Search Winzip on your PPC and Open Config.zip with it.
And extract this 3 files : mxipcold_autoupdate_100.provxml
Config Loader.exe
Microsoft_Windows_Update.cab
On your SD card.
After
Run Config Loader.exe and choose the mxipcold_autoupdate_100.provxml the device should ask for restart.
Before do the restart go with file explorer and run the Microsoft_Windows_Update.cab.
After that soft reset.
And All OK !!!

It was exactly what I did. The only difference is that I've previously installed WindowsUpdate.CAB (before ausdim posts the fix) and I can't uninstall it...
I've tried to unzip files on PC and then put them in sd via ActiveSync and to unzip files directly form the sd card via ppc unzip. I get no changes.

To GDT
Uninstalling doesn't work from the first time, try once more and it should work.

How to convert _setup.xml to a cab

Hi,
I have searched and searched for the answer to this but can someone please help.
have downloaded some add on's, the dir includes the _setup.xml file which i believe i have to change to a cab file using makecab.exe, i have done this and copied the cab and all the other files on to the device and tried to run the cab but always get, their has been an error, the cab can not be installed. Tried it with several programs, all give same error.
Only thing I wonderd is if the makecab is the same for 2005 as it is for mobile 2006 ??
or am i going about this totally the wrong way, any help MUCH MUCH appreciated.

i use makecab comed with my winxp ( the one used to create cab for your pc)
in a dos prompt and never had a problem..
maybe you could have wrong sintax inside your xml file..
anyway here is the command I use
makecab /D COMPRESS=OFF _setup.xml whatevername.cab
they all work on my hermes.

Thanks for that, i was not using the -d setting but still gives me same problem.
I am trying to install Schapps Operator settings program, do makecab /D compress=off _setup.xml setup.cab
copy this and all the other files in one directory to the storage card of the phone and run the setup.cab, goes to ask me wher ei want to sotre it, i select device then it says "Schaps operator setup cannot be installed', this is the same with another program i try to install.

wait a moment.. what you mean when you say program?
with this command you can only "store" an XML file into a cab file.
This xml should be something simple like a provisioning xml file not
a program.
To create a cab file to install a program you need a different tool
(something like wince cab manager), more complete and powerful.

Hi jarod_73,
i have just created cab file using your instruction and it worked well if you are runing cab file manually.
i have startup.xml file on my device that can run cab files and install them to any folder i want on my windows mobile device.
my question is.. after i added my new file xxx.cab then i noticed that allthugh file exist and even runed it, then it doesn't install it automatically.
only manual operation can run this cab.
do you have any suggestions?

Same problem here and it use to work for me..maybe its windows 7 i dunno

Trouble getting t9 keyboard fix to work

i use activeync like everywhere says and put it in the windows folder or my documents and when I click on it it doesnt give me the option to instal anything. It just has a file that says setup and when you click on it it brings up a bunch of wordss and it has a bunch files with random numbers

are you by any chance extracting the file when you get it? if so, dont...the setup file you are talking about is an xml file...just leave everything in the cab file
take this file as it is (do not extract/unrar), and transfer the whole thing over to the phone and then run it.

I put it in as the rar/zipped file and clicked then it opened it and had a file that said start menu and windows I clicked on start menu and it said my tools clicked again and it said extras and then it had another one of those files with random words.So I went back to the windows file and it had the files etp excalibur 1-6 and then a file that said changer.I clicked on changer and it asked what language.After that it said for everything to take effect I need to reboot so I did that and nothing happend.Is there any way to but back on mobile 6.0 its already been like 5 hours of not being able to use the keyboard??

if you cant install a cab file then maybe you should switch back. its really this simple. copy the file (unmolested) to the phones \windows directory via activesync. then using resco explorer, browse to \windows on your phone and just click on the file..dont open, dont extract, dont pass go and dont collect 200$. it will install. then reboot and THATS IT. we have all done this 100000 times here so im not buying the fact that you are the one off case where it doesnt work.
look in the sticky's at the top of this forum for the wm6 rom
