ive had a prob with my xda iis. i put wm 6.1 on but it was running slow so i flashed it with a new rom ony my old setting and programs are still there now im getting loads of errors is there anyway to format it and start a fresh

Hi y'all
I've tried unlocking my SX56/XDA from ATT and all went well using the XDAUnlocker tools and roms etc...., but.....
while 'flashing' the rom my pc crashed and rebooted. now my sx56 is stuck in the 'upgrading; will only take 5 minutes' screen. I've tried a hard reset and that don't work. I can't even get the phone connected with activesynch
Can anybody help me please??

Just sat here and browsed the forum for any possible help regarding my problem; there is a solution I'm going to try out.
Flash the rom (build w/ lumpistefan rom kitchen) via bootloader with SD card; now all I need is to buy a SD/MMC cardwriter and I'm on my way.......
Will let you guys know what happens because I've found more peeps with the same prolem.
Oh a quick note: I've bootloader 5.22 and it does recognize a new rom when inserting a SD card with rom; it will ask you to format or download....... Well here goes nothing

As long as you can get to bootloader it should be fine for sd flashing.

Ok all worked fine; i'll include a step by step (found here ain the forum and will give credits to it) later. i'm kinda in a hurry....... When i upgrade from pc02 to wm03 will i loose all data? if i backup and try to reload data it will not except it?

I have just tried to update the rom on my xda exec (downloaded from the o2 microsite) it seems to load fine, but when i do a reboot I just get a wierd green & red speckled screen.
I have tried to update the rom twice now, once when the xda was on, & once from the bootloader screen.
Both times it seems to install correctly, but i get the strange screen.
HELP!!!
Add. My battery seemed to go to about 30% whilst i was updating. Could it be the battery? Can't charge it now to test. Can still get in bootloader screen.

I have exactually the same problem!
I downloaded the latest ROM from the My-XDA webiste (O2 Ireland) and it supports the XDA Exec as sold in UK and Ireland.
The upgrade goes fine but when I hard reset it just get a fuzzy screen full of red/green spots (lise interferance on a TV).
Have reinstalled the ROM from another PC and the same thing.
Can access the bootloader (v2.01) with no problem.
Have downloaded the ROM from another PC and tried from there and same thing?
Can anyone help?
Is there a known good ROM file that someone has used to rule out the file, as the XDA was fine until I ran the update.

I have tried 2 other ROM's on my XDA Exec and its exactually the same issue.
Once it gets flashed successfully and reboots i get the hazed screen which i cannot use. So its not the ROM file.
Has anyone got help with this, I have searched the posts already and found no solution that it why I have posted this thread.

I too am having this problem and am getting very frustrated.
I have searched the forum for hours and am not getting any closer to a sollution.

I had the same problem i think its a dodgy rom on the O2 website
I went into boot mode and used this ROM

IT WORKED!
Not sure how, or why this worked.
But i installed the Crossbow ROM as listed previous and its working.
And can I just say the Exec is brillant now, its much faster, more responsize and works perfectly.
Thanks for the info, but I had tried 2 different ROM's previously and they never worked let I used one previously with no problems.
Either way I am now staying with Mobile 2006.

i have the same problem as you guys.
and more i can get my xda exec in to bootloader usb at the top and v2.01 at the bottom
but when i got to update it with the wm6 upgerade mentioned earlier
i get a connection error, please con somee one help
im using vista could this be the problem i have a hdd around some where that has xp on should i try that.
also i dont know is any of you knew but when ur in that messed up screen
if you press the lightbuld button a sort of i guess diagnostics or somthing screen pops up

you can change the no/yes's iv only got the enable kitl to do anything though. change it to yes buy using the buttons by the screen and then the center button it take you to the screen below

I have tried alsorts of stuff to get my UNI back to the O2 operating system.
I used the MTTY thingy and cleared it out I have done so much but I keep ending up with a multi coloured screen and thats it.
I can load WM6 operating systems OK and the seem to work.
I have tried the Original O2 shipped ROM and the upgraded ROM but no luck.
I don't want to upset people by being lazy because I promise I have looked but I cant find the solution.

last week i purchased HTC touch, i was experimenting with software, there was a problem, when i was installtion bullguard antivirus.
Now my Windows Mobile 6 is got corrupted, NOt all features are working, and WM6 is not functioning properly.
Kindly suggest me, if i can Flash WM6 on my phone ( I hope it will seems as i got new phone)
or i should give it back to HTC people...
please suggest me what the best i can do...???

Read the User Manual, there you can see how to do a HARD RESET to let your TOUCH as new.

Thanks a lot User22, your guidance really worked, it is again virgin now...
but i am not able to understand one thing when all the executables were corrupted then how come it is able restore all the factory default, is it already having copy of initial files somewhere.
No everything is in the ROM, and always will. Your software changes stay in a user writable area, that are erased when doing a hard reset, thus leaving the original stuff in ROM.
Hey Folks...
I was trying to upgrade my Tytan to WM 6.5. I downloaded the nbh file and also the hard-spl-mg tool to upgrade my SPL.
Everything was going fine but then when I executed the spl upgrade tool it made a hard reset of the phone (expected) ...the issue was that I had on my memory card the 6.5 image file and after a button push the phone started to upgrade the OS without upgrading the SPL.....
As you can expect now the WM 6.5 doest finish the start and I am stuck...
Can anybody help me... I can’t find the original ROM (I live in Venezuela)...Is there a way to solve the issue without restoring it?
