Dear all,
Just wondering if anyone else is having same problem. I had English Build on my JASJAR, but was unable to read or send Arabic messages. I installed the latest ARABIC Build. but know i can send message in ARABIC Language but the message received in ARABIC Language are not readable they are received as (??????????????????????????).
I have tried both enabling arabic and disabling arabic and have also restarted the device after enabling/disabling.
Following are my device info.
ROM Version: 1.30.82 WWE
ROM Date: 02/22/06
Radio: 1.09.00
ExtRom: 1.30.171 WWE
Would appreciate if some one can help mewith this.

Anybody has the Arabizer software that does work on the Universal and does not required a serial number?
Yes the problem is only in receving the message text. It's nto readable.
I've installed the lates ARABIC ROM, That was released officially on club imate site.
If I'm writing message to send it is readable. But as soon I'll send to my own mobile. it will receive as ????????????? but other will receive it as normal arabic message.
By the way, in the latest ARABIC ROM, ARABIZER is available.

Hello, i'm having kind of the same problem,
i have an english rom as well, (T-mobile 2.26). I put arabizer suite build 342 on there and i am able to read arabic text messages no problem, now i am unable to send readable messages whatsoever, the recipient always gets a ??????? in the messages.
how can this be fixed?

I have Xda Orbit UK English (WM5) and will upgrade to WM6 rom soon. Often I receive text messages in Arabic, the arabic words in these messages appear with separated arabic letters (not making the word). The Arabic fonts seem to come from Pocket Islam. Do you have any idea how I can get these arabic text messages to apear correctly. Also would like to be able to wrirte arabic SMS. I do not need to make the Pocket PC in Arabic only SMS and perhaps email.
Would the the software you provide here be ok for me

Thank you for the Arabizer software but i installed it on my JasJar but it didn’t work correctly. When I tried to open the dictionary or Prayer Time applications, it gave this error "Can not run on this device". Any advice?

I've iMate K-Jam (Wizard) not a Universal, but I used to have the same problem when I upgraded to WM6, the problem was in the Arabizer version that I used to install
the attached Arabizer have solved my problem in all the programs that is using Arabic, I've to un-install the old one first.
but the only problem that left for me is the hardware keyboard, it didn't support writing in arabic, but it's ok for me
Please let me know if this solution is working with any of you, cause I'm thinking of exchanging my mobile with Universal

im using htc touch p3450, official rom with arabic enabled. unfortunately the mesgs im getting with arabic font but not readable. i used to forward the same to my n73 so i can read easily.
expect advise from this forum.

How did you get around the "invalid model ID"?
Did the trick with pof's SPL 1.11 work as suggested by johnnylavah?
Or did you just spend money to IMEI check?
It certailnly worked on my non-supercided HTC S620. If your device is HTC S620 regardles or the OS language it will likely accept update.no supercidding is required. DASH handsets would likely require CID unlocking for this upgrade to work.
1. run bootloader upgrade ( well, downgrade) first
2. run rom updater
This is "IU BUILD. TEST ONLY!" ROM.
Anyways...to get your English back after the ROM is upgraded:
Start --> Settings (Настройка) --> press 7 --> press5:
now, in the top most combo box (Кодировка) :
select UK or US English and press left soft button to confirm
in the next combo box select 3rd from the top entry: English Australia (Английский Австралия) and press left soft button to confirm
now, press left soft button 4 times to confrim that changes will become effective after soft reset.
At this stage you may power cycle you Excalibur

P.S. You do not need to do anything about QWERTY keyboard layout. It's just plain standard QWERTY after the language settings are applied.
And just in case if you do not like default green colour of the home screen, there is one called WIndows Default available that looks a bit more attractive to me

I could not update the new rom ERROR[294] invalid vendor ID,also bootloader did not work also

Nevertheless it's good to know that HTC is still working/testing WM6 for S620! Hope the final version will appear soon!

Yes, original HTC, no extra branding. no extra bloatware. This ROM is very different to T-Mo DASH WM6 ROM. Much, much better this one. Great improvements accross the board.
Is it possible to go back to the WM5 ROM if the WM6 doesn't work out? If so how do you do that?

I have just upgraded from from WM5 on a CID unlocked S620 and all seems to be working fine.
Getting out of Russian is a little tricky, but following the steps in this thread worked fine.
TomTom works (as well as it ever has on WM5/6), UK Vodafone GPRS works, Hotmail and Exchange email working, Google Maps runs OK.
No obvious issues or bugs so far.
General performance seems to be comparable to the last WM5 ROM.

ahhh ! i tried it too - i have a htc s621 from rogers so i'm guessing it's because it's not CID unlocked? it says ERROR [294] Invalid Vender ID -any fix to this?
securegsm, can you help us out - the ones who are getting the error, my phone's app unlocked but it's locked to rogers. i tried 2 times but i keep getting the same error. how did you get around this? is your phone unlocked already or it's locked to some provider - if it is, how'd you get around the invalid id? i tried it - it didn't work for me
My wife has just got an Orange SPV M650 and I need to change the language from French to English for her so she can use it properly (French is a problem and she thought she could change the language when she bought it). Is this possible? After a lengthy call to Orange France today, they tell me it should be possible but that I need to download the rom in English. But they couldn't tell me where to find the software to do this however...So far I have not had any luck. On other forums, it has been suggested that this just won't be possible.
Any help would be much appreciated!!

if you change the rom, you have plenty to choose from. what would you like? windows mobile 5 or 6? the official rom? or something "cooked" (which has more features)?
you are in the right place here. just search through the various threads about roms. be aware that some french spv m650 users had problems with gps once the upgraded to WM6. but there is a patch for that...

i've had that same problem before, i bought my spv m650 and thought it would be easy to change the language to english. i also tried to ask france telecom, but they're just a useless bunch of people. good thing i discovered this forum.
if you want, you can send me a private message and i could send the english roms that i used, and also the solution for the gps problem that one of the members in this forum made.

I am using my bosses login as he has asked me to sort out his wife's phone for him.
Redski very very kindly sent me all the files that I would need to change the SPV M650 to English WM6 from the French (complete with the fixes for the gps).
Not owning a pda phone type thing myself this is all new territory for me. And a little scarey!!! If I turn the phone into a brick (do you like how I am learning the language?!)...well it doesn't bear thinking about as it's not my new toy.
Anyway, following the excellent instructions provided by redski I managed to use the uspl file to cid unlock the phone. I then tried to load the wm6 software redski sent me onto the phone. I keep getting an error message - the dos screen goes through the initializing stages and then the error message says can't find the file. So I thought I would look on this excellent website for more clues on wm6 software for this phone as I was loathe to keep bothering redski or anyone else for that matter.
But I have to admit defeat now and ask for more help please!
(I promise I have trawled through the threads looking for clues, even the excellent complete idiot's guide which is clear - it is the software to download I need guidance with).
I saw a download available on this site based on o2 german WM6. Is that the one to use? I think it was bepe's download??
I am using activesync correctly by the way and am only connecting as a guest just in case this makes a difference.
I am not stupid (honest!) just a little lost and confused so any help would be much appreciated from anyone who has the time to advise a newbie like me!!!

you can use any english ROM you like, i don't know why the one i sent didn't work, but have you tried looking through the threads that i sent you? you can also look through the WIKI page of artemis, and look for available english roms to download.

however...there are still many parts that are English only...
I have no problem reading English...

Mine start, but over 40 seconds after boot, this message ( appears and i can't use the cellular "SIM lock. You can still make emergency calls if you service provider supports it"
I've tried with 3 different SIMs and without SIM and i get the same message....
I think that installing a new software maybe will fix it, but ... i don't have any idea of how could i do it.

I picked up the Softbank X02HT but it came with the Chinese ROM.
Since I'm using it in Japan, I'd like to switch over to the Japanese ROM.
I wasnt able to find the Softbank Japanese ROM anywhere online... perhaps someone had a suggestion?

Im in the same boat as I picked it up in HK to use here in Tokyo
kinda ironic how it was setup to use here and now it only partially functions.
I cant seem to find a ROM anywhere for it as well
some of the settings from the X01HT will work.
Im tempted to go to softbank and get them to reflash it back but i have a feeling ill get busted for having an unlocked one.
The keyboard layout is f'd up not all the keys match, I can send SMS but cannot receive, and I cannot access internet via 3G...
What is your experience like so far in Japan for the dopod rom?

Actually, I’m also using the HK ROM on the Softbank branded X02HT in Japan.
SMS and 3G Packet service works okay but it seems the MMS is impossible to get working.
Just to confirm, here are my settings for internet access.
In “Connections”, I have a connection that “Connects To” “The Internet”.
The access point is “softbank”, the username is “[email protected]” and password is “softbank”.
In “Proxy”, I didn’t have anything setup.
This is the paid packet service, where you pay per use.
I think you also need Softbank to have your plan include “packet service”.
It looks like you can also setup the flat rate internet service but I haven’t tried that.
Sorry, I’m not sure about SMS issues.
Is it possible to dump the ROM from a retail Softbank X02HT?
Then, we could flash the official ROM onto the phones and all the problems go away.

yes if somebody could provide a ROM dump of the softbank rom that would help... well also need to figure out HOW to flash it then...
The company I bought my phone from (mail order from the US) offered me to reflash the phone to the Softbank ROM but it is not cheap and I also would need to send it back to the US for that (and pay for the DHL/UPS costs)
So I would prefer doing it myself (if its not such a hassle)
Yea. I got my X02HT in HK, and although everything works fine here on AT&T, I'm having an issue with remembering where some of the symbols are.. since some of them don't match up... any luck finding the Original ROM?
It seems that the original Japanese ROM also has English. and I would assume that this ROM maps the Keys correctly... as opposed to the Dopod ROM installed now...

I'm starting to think there is no solution I have unlocked and uploaded and reloaded and re-unlocked, etc but still the same problem...My phone can not access the cellular network. I did a manual search and my phone does not acknowledge the JP Softbank network. I have put different kinds of ROM's and OS upgrades, etc, but still no success. I'm starting to think that these great unlocked PDA's only work in Europe and North America and not in JAPAN.
I have seen several other threads with others having the same problem so I am going to try to ask this question in several different threads.
I have no errors and everything works fine in the process, just like everybody says it does, but still nothing for acquiring a signal. It just either shows an exclamation point or searching dots. I have compared the various carrier options on my phone to other Softbank phones and everything is the same networks except acknowledging the Softbank network.
I'm praying there is some smart person out there who can figure this out...PLEASE...PRETTY PLEASE...
Works on DoCoMo but NOT on Softbank
I also have a Dopod ROM and funny thing is, the phone works like a charm on the DoCoMo Network (Phone and SMS) but when I pop in a Vodafone SIM it cannot even connect to the Softbank network

I had a Softbank X02HT. Stumbled my way thru a DOPOD "cook (?)" and used it in Australia and Guam on GSM. Came back to Japan, threw in the softbank card...CHANGED THE NETWORK BAND...to Japan and AUTO. Worked perfect on DOPOD ROM. No 3G. I am working that right now.....

First Boot screen show "Test Only Not for Sale SOFTBANK" Just ignore it....hopefully when done with cooking WM6.1 with softbank rom, kindly erase that Boot Screen.....

Yeah dude! Try it, at least, it worked for me. Now I can play with the WM registry and those things that was unavaible after.

yes!!!!!!!!!i tried and it went with no problem. thanks for showing the way ...and atleast now there is a space to put the unlock code...good luck with your newborn x02ht. and the internet settings are also in place. so can use softbank unlimited plans...

no. i didnt try anything else as i didnt have time and was quite satisfied with the softbank rom. but yes the network seems to be weak compared to the original rom.
