It is supposedly out, and in Russian, but with US/UK ENglish

Its russian so not really much use. We need one that says WWE (world wide english).

How did you get around the "invalid model ID"?
Did the trick with pof's SPL 1.11 work as suggested by johnnylavah?
Or did you just spend money to IMEI check?

It certailnly worked on my non-supercided HTC S620. If your device is HTC S620 regardles or the OS language it will likely accept update.no supercidding is required. DASH handsets would likely require CID unlocking for this upgrade to work.
1. run bootloader upgrade ( well, downgrade) first
2. run rom updater
This is "IU BUILD. TEST ONLY!" ROM.
Anyways...to get your English back after the ROM is upgraded:
Start --> Settings (Настройка) --> press 7 --> press5:
now, in the top most combo box (Кодировка) :
select UK or US English and press left soft button to confirm
in the next combo box select 3rd from the top entry: English Australia (Английский Австралия) and press left soft button to confirm
now, press left soft button 4 times to confrim that changes will become effective after soft reset.
At this stage you may power cycle you Excalibur
CE OS 5.2.1238 (Build 17745.0.2.3)
Radio: 4.1.13.44_02.94.90

P.S. You do not need to do anything about QWERTY keyboard layout. It's just plain standard QWERTY after the language settings are applied.
And just in case if you do not like default green colour of the home screen, there is one called WIndows Default available that looks a bit more attractive to me

I could not update the new rom ERROR[294] invalid vendor ID,also bootloader did not work also

So, just another beta ROM...
Nevertheless it's good to know that HTC is still working/testing WM6 for S620! Hope the final version will appear soon!

Are there many differences to the T-Mobile WM6 (exept for the branding)?

Yes, original HTC, no extra branding. no extra bloatware. This ROM is very different to T-Mo DASH WM6 ROM. Much, much better this one. Great improvements accross the board.

Is it possible to go back to the WM5 ROM if the WM6 doesn't work out? If so how do you do that?

Upgraded fine S620 WM5 -> WM6
Hi all.
I have just upgraded from from WM5 on a CID unlocked S620 and all seems to be working fine.
Getting out of Russian is a little tricky, but following the steps in this thread worked fine.
TomTom works (as well as it ever has on WM5/6), UK Vodafone GPRS works, Hotmail and Exchange email working, Google Maps runs OK.
No obvious issues or bugs so far.
General performance seems to be comparable to the last WM5 ROM.

ahhh ! i tried it too - i have a htc s621 from rogers so i'm guessing it's because it's not CID unlocked? it says ERROR [294] Invalid Vender ID -any fix to this?

securegsm, can you help us out - the ones who are getting the error, my phone's app unlocked but it's locked to rogers. i tried 2 times but i keep getting the same error. how did you get around this? is your phone unlocked already or it's locked to some provider - if it is, how'd you get around the invalid id? i tried it - it didn't work for me

Softbank Japan ROM

Hi everyone,
I picked up the Softbank X02HT but it came with the Chinese ROM.
Since I'm using it in Japan, I'd like to switch over to the Japanese ROM.
I wasnt able to find the Softbank Japanese ROM anywhere online... perhaps someone had a suggestion?

i am in a similar situation and already posted several requests about switching my Dopod ROM to a Softbank one or at least get all the important functions of the Softbank ROM working on my Dopod 730...but so far no reply.

Im in the same boat as I picked it up in HK to use here in Tokyo
kinda ironic how it was setup to use here and now it only partially functions.
I cant seem to find a ROM anywhere for it as well
some of the settings from the X01HT will work.
Im tempted to go to softbank and get them to reflash it back but i have a feeling ill get busted for having an unlocked one.
The keyboard layout is f'd up not all the keys match, I can send SMS but cannot receive, and I cannot access internet via 3G...
What is your experience like so far in Japan for the dopod rom?

Using foreign ROM on Softbank network
Actually, I’m also using the HK ROM on the Softbank branded X02HT in Japan.
SMS and 3G Packet service works okay but it seems the MMS is impossible to get working.
Just to confirm, here are my settings for internet access.
In “Connections”, I have a connection that “Connects To” “The Internet”.
The access point is “softbank”, the username is “[email protected]” and password is “softbank”.
In “Proxy”, I didn’t have anything setup.
This is the paid packet service, where you pay per use.
I think you also need Softbank to have your plan include “packet service”.
It looks like you can also setup the flat rate internet service but I haven’t tried that.
Sorry, I’m not sure about SMS issues.
Is it possible to dump the ROM from a retail Softbank X02HT?
Then, we could flash the official ROM onto the phones and all the problems go away.

yes if somebody could provide a ROM dump of the softbank rom that would help... well also need to figure out HOW to flash it then...
The company I bought my phone from (mail order from the US) offered me to reflash the phone to the Softbank ROM but it is not cheap and I also would need to send it back to the US for that (and pay for the DHL/UPS costs)
So I would prefer doing it myself (if its not such a hassle)

Yea. I got my X02HT in HK, and although everything works fine here on AT&T, I'm having an issue with remembering where some of the symbols are.. since some of them don't match up... any luck finding the Original ROM?
It seems that the original Japanese ROM also has English. and I would assume that this ROM maps the Keys correctly... as opposed to the Dopod ROM installed now...

I'm starting to think there is no solution I have unlocked and uploaded and reloaded and re-unlocked, etc but still the same problem...My phone can not access the cellular network. I did a manual search and my phone does not acknowledge the JP Softbank network. I have put different kinds of ROM's and OS upgrades, etc, but still no success. I'm starting to think that these great unlocked PDA's only work in Europe and North America and not in JAPAN.
I have seen several other threads with others having the same problem so I am going to try to ask this question in several different threads.
I have no errors and everything works fine in the process, just like everybody says it does, but still nothing for acquiring a signal. It just either shows an exclamation point or searching dots. I have compared the various carrier options on my phone to other Softbank phones and everything is the same networks except acknowledging the Softbank network.
I'm praying there is some smart person out there who can figure this out...PLEASE...PRETTY PLEASE...

Works on DoCoMo but NOT on Softbank
I also have a Dopod ROM and funny thing is, the phone works like a charm on the DoCoMo Network (Phone and SMS) but when I pop in a Vodafone SIM it cannot even connect to the Softbank network

I had a Softbank X02HT. Stumbled my way thru a DOPOD "cook (?)" and used it in Australia and Guam on GSM. Came back to Japan, threw in the softbank card...CHANGED THE NETWORK BAND...to Japan and AUTO. Worked perfect on DOPOD ROM. No 3G. I am working that right now.....

First Boot screen show "Test Only Not for Sale SOFTBANK" Just ignore it....hopefully when done with cooking WM6.1 with softbank rom, kindly erase that Boot Screen.....

wowwwwwww I don't know how, but this ROM worked for me!!! The ****** SIM Locked message dissapear! Now, I can put a unlock code for my cell..... I'm going to see how (Any suggestion ?)

Can anybody tell me is it fine if i run this rom on my x02ht without running anything else first?i mean any spl thing required?any did the enter the unlock code screen really appeared?

Yeah dude! Try it, at least, it worked for me. Now I can play with the WM registry and those things that was unavaible after.

yes!!!!!!!!!i tried and it went with no problem. thanks for showing the way ...and atleast now there is a space to put the unlock code...good luck with your newborn x02ht. and the internet settings are also in place. so can use softbank unlimited plans...

Did you try to install another ROM, a Dopod ROM or something??
I wanna try one but i don't know if it is a good idea or not ...

no. i didnt try anything else as i didnt have time and was quite satisfied with the softbank rom. but yes the network seems to be weak compared to the original rom.

No GSM Signal

I have an HTC S620 (Original HTC)
Running WM6.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=374890)
but...theres an Problem:
Wifi Works Fine,No Problems
But i became no Gsm Signal,it Takes my Pin and Displays "Sim card pro" (is Normal,its an A1 Austra card-it displays this on every Phone)
but then stands on the Display "Searching" ive waited 2hours and tested 3 Sim Cards and 4 Roms,Nothing Helps
i also Flashed from HERE
The "HTC WM6 WWE ROM - 4.1.13.44_02.94.90" and also "Rogers WM6 Radio - 4,1,13,47_02.98.90",doesnt Help
any Suggestions?

Re-Flash Kavana or Ricky's 6.1 ROM - It's stickied. Choose either one of them.
Set it up. Pop in your SIM Card and Try again.
Check if your phone is off just incase (in the settings).
If you've done everything and you still can't get the gsm signal and it keeps searching, then either you have a problem where you live or your phones defective. Did you try going outside? Maybe you have a weak signal where you live? Let us know.

Ahh, That Sucks then all I can think of that there's something wrong with your phone i.e. it's defective. Get it replaced !

Ummm you might need to configure the settings on that phone because you said the original rom worked however the new one didn't. Here try this on the new rom that you have installed (assuming its the 6.1 by Ricky if not download it from below in my signature). After you installed it or have it installed then go to accessories and connection setup and that should get you rolling.

HELP!! Daimond cannot connect to network

Iv installed TLR Diamond ROM 1 and my fone had a Russian Rom on it when I bought it. Can anyone help me?? When I try contacting to vodafone..the wait cursor appears but nothing happens..

Thanx for the rep mate but as a matter of fact i tried everything, u c i have have alot of devices and frequently ugrade most of them and have never bricked any of them..but the diamond just dosnt work for me. Tired installed signed and unsigned roms with the reqiured spl'z but...
Even when the roms are loaded the system is slow and non-responsive. It was fine when i bought it with the Russian rom on it..WHATS WRONG...Dont have a clue..

According to that nothing simz to wok AND its work in progress..i guess i just have to wait or start tryn cookin my own roms..lol

Diamond finally Working
ok guys..iv installed the Russian rom back on the device and now the networks connected.As for before everything was working fine..touch flow n all only no network..but after the Russian rom..all gud...So according to my knowledge there is a lock with the network that only allows the Russian stock rom...if only there was a way to change the language...m able to change the language of the touch flow by changing the language code in the registry but not the whole rom..as i can remember some guy changed the laguage in the registy and installed a software which changed the roms language but it wasnt a diamond....hmm..more googling i guesss...Any help!!!

Urgent assiatnce needed regarding ASUS P320

Hi All,
I am lately frustrated with my ASUS 320 that i bought in Italy from the cellphone provider TIM Italy.I was tol it 'll operate in English however the whole thing is in Italian , i just can hear you folks telling me to got it changed, yes unfortunately its a bit lately for that and quite honest the phone with the functions seems great.
So this is what i am trying to do and where i am failing.
From several memeber (thanks to all of them ) i tried flashing the WWE in diferent ways .First i have been told to use the chinese firmware's autorun.exe (aparently this ain't checking any version ) and using the WWE's bin file in the same folder and flash it.This method unfortunately failed and gives the message that i need to ensure that the language has to be the same as the phone ones.During soft reset at the startup screen , it fails again.
So at this point ASUS told me to sent it to their service center and to be installed with the english version of the windows mobile 6.1 , they said its a licensing thing and i had to pay for it.
So i am really at my last nerve i guess , is there anyone , anyone who can help me out here.Once again the device is from the italian cellphone service company TIM italia the language is Italian and i want to change (flash ) it to English start up screen gives
" ROM 4.10.0_0718_ITA_ITA"

Thanks for the reply , but unfortunately thats the sit where i am getting my ROM's and , again , tried it this morning and still the same problem happens.It tells me to make sure that its the same language , or durung soft reset (holding volume button down while resetting) it saiys failed .
Anyone else please help ?
