WM 5 Contact Problems

I have install WM5 on my XDA2s with the Villina version the prob. is tha when i try to use my contact button it keeps closong down, i cant seem to access the contacts at all how can i solve this problem????
PS i ther a better ROM that this one that i can use if sent me the link.

u can find many ROM and fixing troubleshot there's step by step how to upgrade or downgrade u'r ROM...
try Helmi AKU 3.5 ROM it's quit stable.

Hi gitt,
I don't think it is a problem with the ROM but related to the AKU version.
If you copied your pim.vol from your previous WM5 Rom to this one and the AKU version was different (coming from 2.xx to 3.xx), then I'm pretty sure this is the problem.
So you have two options to solve your problem, but both are not straight forward, sorry:
1) Try first to do a backup using PPCBckpContacts in this ROM, if it doesn't work then you have to revert back to your previous ROM and do a backup of your pim.vol using PPCBckpContacts ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1033173 )
2) use the emulator to achieve the same ( http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...A5-183A-4A1E-A7E2-CC500ED1F19A&displaylang=en )
a) launch the emulator, select a directory on your pc that will play the storage card, then replace the pim.vol by yours, do a soft rest via the emulator menu and use PPcBckpContacts to do a backup
3) use PPCBckpContacts to do the restore in your new ROM.

I have the same problem after upgrade from version BA 5.1.1700 to Helmi aku 3.5 v 1.4. Is this solution for my problem too?

Version name is BA WM5 English Rom 5.1.1700_bulid_14343_ upgrade.
I have a question. Can i format all storage and after upgrade the windows? because now when i try reinstall windows the previous version setting and programs stay there and maybe the old contacts stay there too and this is the reason why now concacts dont working.
But i dont know how i can format or delete all data in my storage. I have qtek 9060 and the soft reset is the same as hard reset (some programs not working after reset but nothing esle)

When you upgrade to a new OS version, you always have to format, otherwise you will have inconsistencies in the registry and on the disk.

When I push Contacts button, display only blink and close. So the contacts list is unserviceable.

Use the solution provided on first page, I don't know any other. If you can't do it, I can do it for you, if you don't mind that I can see your contacts!

i have backup files(contacts) from old version of windows. So if u can to herlp me i will be happy .
And dont mind that u ll see my contacts

I don't use ICQ, but you can send me pim.vol by mail, I will send you the corresponding backed up files that you will have to reload on your ppc using ppcbckpcontacts...

if you click on dotfred next to the green led, you will see a popup menu, then select send an email. Anyway, here it is mailto:[email protected]

I tried using Total Commander to backup and restore. It worked fine in one machine, but when I try to restore the backup from my old PPC Phone to my new PPC Phone, it doesnt work and it happened just like that too...I tap Contact and it flashed and disappeared.

I got some version of Windows Mobile 5 on my phone working with BB Connect but was wondering if any1 released WM6 working wif BB Connect yet ???

Try searching with a google advanced search - limiting your results to http://forum.xda-developers.com
Try say "BBconnect Trinity" or "Blackberry Trinity".
It's there I promise.

Graytraveler, try .84, 90 did not work for me with a stock Tytn II, but 84 did. Or I used Dutty's latest ROM from Xda-developers.com and .92 worked fine with that.
Hchickers, you can try this:
1. Hard reset.
2. Change device ID, from Start -> Settings -> System -> About -> Device ID to HTC_P3450
3. Install a registry editor, such as Resco (www.resco-net.com) or Total Commander (www.ghisler.com, I use 2.5 beta 3). Then edit
HKLM\System\Versions\AKU key, change whatever in there (like .0.0.3) to .0.4.2
Then soft reset and install Blackberry Connect. This method worked for some people (they weren't using 750, but still). It might work for you as well.

even if this isn't any help for people getting started with BBC on there trins, all new BBC updates get posted there.
p.s. If u dont have bb service from your network before!!, then bbc will never work.

WM5 to WM6. Contacts not function

Please help me.
I upgraded my Prophet from WM5 to WM6. installing version Viet.
It is working very fine but i encountered a problem in contacts. When I push the contact menu this not show.
Please help me to get a solution for this problem... I upgrade my ROM three times with different versions ROMS and the same result.

htc home problem

i have a t-mobile mda running wm5 that i am trying to customize to be a backup to my t-mobile wing. i indtall the htc home plug-in, but it does not appear on my today items menu. someone please help me.

Most HTC Home is only supposed to run in WM6. You need to find a WM5 enabled version.

guys i am new with my i-mate jasjam(herm 100).. and i had a problem with my sms service. i was not able to send sms with any sim card. so i installed some titanium edition wm 6.5 rom(previously i had wm5). and when i sync it with my pc i found that it was a trial version and it expired now giving me a white screen written
"this concludes the beta test of this software release. thank you very much for your time and effort in helping make this a great product for our costumers.
to obtain a newer release or further info, please revisit the web site that you used to obtain your current beta release."
now i am not able to access any thing on my i-mate. even active sync is not able to synchronize with the pc.
i only want install a good windows(rom) in it. so can any body help me with this problem of mines in easy way.like giving me a direct link to official rom and instructions to install it,,,

found the solution but still need help
i got the solution for expired version from another xda thread. hard reset did the job.
but i still need a official rom.wm 6 or latest.if dont than atleast please give me some link for wm5 official rom. i dont want to play with roms just give me a rom with which i can use my i-mate jasjam peacefully and also i can send sms to my friends... please help me thank you!!

Use this. It's a cab file so just install it, then run the program. Use your current network.
What happens sometimes is the proper settings are not set up, so you end up with your situation.

need that apllication for wm6

i tried that software but it is not displayed any where, while installing it gave an caution that it was designed for previous windows.
so i got the name of it (i;e htc your application name). ill search for it on net for wm6.
please if get it from some where so do post the link. thanx a lot.
