Matt
no phone signal after external antenna
Hi Matt,
I had the same problem as you decribe. After i connect a external GSM (phone) antenna
at the backside of my device i can not received any GSM (phone) signal.
Display shows that the device is still searching for a GSM-signal.
So i think that this is a problem which often happen by this type of device.
Also the GPS is not working because the device could not find any satelites.
It still searching for satelites, just the same as the GSM-signal.
So i think that something has broken, a contact from the internal antenna or maybe a shortcut in the circuits when we plugged the external antenna.
I have send the device to HTC and they did not repair it but they give me a another new device, only the inside parts are new not the outside case.
Hope that you could do something with this info.
Kind regards
Davidoff
I had this problem without pluging in an external antenna
try going to comms manager and click the phone icon to turn off the phone radio, then turn off the phone with the power switch...
Now turn on you phone again... this should turn the phone radio back on and it should work...

How can anything this good be this bad?
You can buy TomTom navigator5 for pda for £75 at PC World less on the Net
for this you get a 128meg sd card with tomtom on and a wireless bluetooth reciever and a Car charger.
You don't get a Mains charger but I found a USB hub Psu or my old toshiba pda E740 PSU will do the trick.
With the Universal software set up is a breeze. The trouble comes with the bluetooth gps which isn't adequately documented by tomtom. It is a good GPS receiver so whats bad.
on the Reciever are 2 Leds and a button
the first led has 3 states
Red totally discharged
orange charging
off fully charged (or fully discharged or broken or)
The 2nd Led is green
with 3 states
green - got a lock
green - flashing got a lock and talking to your Pda
off - switched off, or not got a lock and switched on, or its broke.
The button
push for a second on
push for a second off
push for 3 seconds reset
push repeatedly - unknown state (and it can take up to a minute to get a lock)
The problem is that fully charged and indoors you probably will get no lights at all and will not be able to tell if its on or off or broken.
if its not talking to your pda it will turn itself off after 5 minutes also if your stationary.
you can spend forever trying to get it working if you go in under bluetooth you should be able to discover it. but if you start the tomtom software it will tell you no gps.
The only definate way to get it connected is to go outside press the button and then the green led should light letting you know its on and has found some satellites. then if you start the tomtom software and choose tomtom gps it will connect.
you can share the gps using the gps settings in connections and bluetooth
(but someone else can explain that).
if you are indoors and trying to set this up, you will get nowhere.
hope this is useful info.
one more thing each gps has its own mac address as well as its display name so its possible you think you have a partnership but thats a different tomtom wireless gps unit. (the one you took back coz you were convinced it was broken).

The only comment I can make here is that a lot of GPS recivers won't work indoors. I'm using a GPslim236 and this works ok indoors (at home) as long as you are close to a window (within 6ft). This uses the SirfIII (?) chipset. The earlier chipsets wouldn't work at all indoors (iirc).

The tomtom bluetooth gps is sirf III,
Seems to get a good signal most of the time.
you would think getting two bluetooth devices to pair together, location would be fairly unimportant. However with the tomtom unless its got a fix it doesn't want to play.
once you 'grok' the device its ok, but I still would have prefered an on off switch with some feedback.
I have bought BA and im very happy with it.... but i dont have any cable for it and i wanna flash from wm03se (original system) to wm05 can i do that with bluetooth? I live in serbia and a cable for him is very expensive... anyone help please???
I have another question, when press down on buttons below those four buttons on front of the phone i need a little harder to press, same to answer button, can i clean it somehow.... THANKS
I seriously doubt it, as flashing requires rewriting the internal memory, that AFAIL can only be done when the device is in bootloader.
Is there any other way to flash phone? And please help me about buttons??
You can flash through the memory card if you can't do it via sync cable.
Can anyone show how to flash through memory card step by step? or drop some link here?? THANKs
As a start, I'd try the wiki. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel
i have read all about flashing but have not found how to flash with memory card... please help... thanks
I dont want to be annoying but HELP!!!! please
If you can't find anything on SD Card flashing, it may not be possible with your device.
I was hoping this was possible as well.
The BA I just got from Ebay stopped working while connected to the cradle or sync cable. When I first plugged it in to my sync cable I noticed it was kind of wobbly, and instead of showing the amber charging light it showed the red light. Putting it in the cradle it wouldn't do anything either until I left it on for a few hours then tried to do a hard reset.
After that it still wouldn't work on the sync cable, but did work on the cradle. So I flashed it from the original ROM to one of Xplodes to see if that would help. Well it works fine and I was able to upgrade on the cradle, but it still wouldn't work on just the sync cable.
Just yesterday when I tried to plug it into the sync cable again to see if it at least would charge while on it, I noticed that when it was on and I plugged it in the screen dimmed with a bunch of lines eating away at the screen. Finding that odd I unplugged the sync cable, rebooted it (worked fine) and put it back on the cradle. The moment it came in contact with the connection it again dimmed and got the wierd garbled screen, eventually going black and showing the red light instead of the amber light.
I also just noticed that the phone doesn't work. I was so worried about setting the thing up that I didn't even check that basic functionality!
So, here I have a BA that doesn't have a working phone, and can't be synced. The wi-fi seemed to work at least.
So is there any way to change the ROM back to OEM using the SD card, bluetooth, IRDA, or wi-fi? At least then I can try and send the thing back to the Ebayer I got it from. If I send it back now they'd see I have WM 6.1 on it and probably tell me I'm SOL.
My friend tried to do something with (t)his gps and ended up with frozen splash screen.
I tried to help him and put igo on it by changing mgnshell.exe to mngshell123.exe and igo.exe to mngshell.exe.
Now i'm having WORKING igo but i CAN NOT access anymore to hdd of this gps by USB cable.
Definitely i did stupid thing here.
This model does not have reset button only slide on/off .
PLEASE (to the expert one) can you tell me HOW to UNDO this change of names? How can i access to hdd of gps?
What can i do?
THANK YOU (in advance).
simcheee
Any suggestions?

Hi there,

In second time, i had an accident with my car on the road (a ****ing guy hit me on my rear left and do a 360° ...) and since that, i have no wifi with my unit, do cant update any app, can use my GPS (Waze), cant hear somes song and more...
When i try to put wifi ON, the slide go on "ON" during 5sec and after, go back in OFF. I check the M.A.C Adress and is blank, so, opening the unit for check the board and nothing seems to be brake.
I try to update my unit, android, MCU but nothing work, so i hope u can help me, cause Erisin dont reply to my problem.
Thanks
Hi
Did you checked if your wires are ok? Maybe the accident caused some connections to get loose.

Your USB chip died, just like mine did. Took away all that had something to do with usb, such as wifi, external disc option, 3g...

None of the usb ports work because usb controller died on board.
First my wifi started to go off by itself, and soon enough nothing worked that could be connected to usb.
You should change the mainboard, or buy another device.
But first try factory reset.
In my case, front USB work (just the mini USB/USB cable move a lot, so i lost connection).
I allready try a factory reset and dont work too. For information, when i put WIFI dongle on USB Front, i can swap wifi ON too., but this dongle work on my computer.
Where i can find a mainboard ?
From your seller, I guess...
Hey guys,
After I broke my display a few weeks ago i bought a replacement screen + digitizer and repaired it. I also changed the battery. Everything worked fine afterwards.
Mobile connection, gps, speaker, camera, fingerprint reader, everything. Just the wifi doesnt seem to get a propper signal.
I have to stand right infront of the router for it to find the connection and even then its not stable.
Before the repair everything worked fine. I guess it has to be a problem with the connection from the wifi
module to the antenna? But i cant seem to figure out where the contacts are to check.
All the pins at the backside of the motherboard which connect to the battery case seem alright.
I looked for this problem on and I found a few people who had a similar problem but no solution
other then clearing the network cache or factory resetting which didnt help for me.
Another idea i had after looking for a solution for other phones aswell was that I might have accidentally switched 2 screws around on the upper motherboard because some of those create a connection aswell right? Gonna look at them the next time i have time to open it up.
I have oxygen with twrp and rooted it with magisk if that information is needed but i dont think its a software problem because it was working fine before.
Thankful for any kind of help.
I had some time opening it up again. All the right screws are in the right places and the antenna cable is also plugged in correct on both sides.
Any help regarding where the wifi connects to the antenna at the back of the phone or help in general?
Thanks already
Same problem on my OP3T, I've only opened it to replace camera, earpiece and loudspeaker.
Also bluetooth does not work and GPS is slow to get position.
I don't know what to do. It seems an antenna problem.
Any idea?
