Fed up with the DASH Thx everyone for the help!

I thought i would never say this but i'm tired of my dash and more tired of all the phone calls and texts i miss thanks to all the memory problems.
This was a great phone but im moving on and now that i managed to unlock my iphone im finally gonna be able to do what i enjoy best Text, take pictures and surf the web all with minimal difficulty.
While the iphone isnt windows i still found it very easy to get used to and despite what everyone says about the slow edge internet i think that might be an at&t problem because my service is as fast as Opera mini on my dash.
I know no one cares but if you opened this thread i have something for you i dont know how long these links will last but they provided me with all dash software i needed for free get them while the mods dont notice.
i dont even know if this is againist the rules but hey ill find out.

Haha me too. I got an iphone and it blew me away how fast and responsive it is. I unlocked mine but then I sold it so back on my dash until my new iphone arrives. Its funny windows mobile seems like so like windows 3.1 now.

Wierd how people who claim to have sold their Dashes still hang out in a Dash forum, and feel the users here have an actual interest...

what do you mean. he said that he sold his iphone unlocked and is using his dash until his new iphone comes in. meaning he has a dash and uses it as a back up.

You're moving on to the iPhone for texting? Are you from Opposite World? Where everything that sucks is better? Dude, the iPhone is horrible for texting.
Never had any problems of missing calls or texts with my Dash btw.

How to reset phone lifetime

Sorry if this is fool question. Does anyone know how to reset phone lifetime to zero. I am using DIAMOND. Thank you

no it doesn't... I think it's a way for customer no to be sold an old phone for a new one, like car km counters...

Reset Time
What I found in O2 Xda IIs is you just adjust the time backward while make a call and end the call time will be reduce howerver there is almost impossible to get it back to 0.

Not possible, unless you re-program the chip.

And why do you need to do that? Pardon my frankness but there is no reason for someone to do that unless one tries to decieve a potential buyer.

well, maybe just someone like to show others that his phone is in perfect condition and new...i used a method at my nkia phones to reset the lifetimer...
So, i think that this inst impossible to find out a way how to reset lifetimer...
the other thing i like such comments whe souldt reset lifetimer it isnt cool etc..beecause everyone who will know to reset lifetimer will do that...once when a phone become boring and you want to sell it my opinion is that everybody want to get as much as he can for his/her phone...
so...lets do that

start/settings/system/device information/call duration. bingo! search application on site helps as well from time to time

True it shouldn't be used to decieve people but IMHO you should be able to decieve companies when you bought it and you don't want it anymore you can just reset it to 0 and say you haven't used it
i think it's possible.. but you'd have to reset a chip.. I think.. But it has to be possible because it can be updated, so it should also be 'downdated'

As a matter of principle, just because you don't 'deal' directly with the majority of employees and stockholders, doesn't justify deceiving anyone tied to a company. They're people too..
Anyway, guns don't kill people. People kill people. So, if you leave it up to people's discretion to mess with the call duration timer, it will be used to deceive all kinds of other people.

sh**it, what are you talking about. In the country where i live this shi*t device costs 600euros, so, please dont speak me anything about deception. I think its my right to decide if i bought something for 400eu, after half year usage sell it to 350 with 00lifetimer...anyway, in my country it is rarity when such a phone has warranty...im not here to find a way to reset the liftimer to sell chillions of htc....

we are here to solve how to reset the lifetimer. If i need a lawyer i will call you.

The life time is not such a big deal, people don't care how much you talked on it. A cellphone's life is not based on talk time. I would be more concerned about the battery than how much you talked on it.
But to be so eager to reset the life to save 20 E?
If you don't know what mtty is, I don't think you should be messing with it.

its not about a money..well, now im thinking about that many of us know how to reset..if you want MY reason why to reset...in my country to buty an original phone, which is not usedbefore is almost impossible. Because there are dillers who buy old phones reset lifetimer and sell it for big money...now, the poor student when need money or just want to try another phone have to go to this diller, who asks how old is the phone. When i say the iftimer is on 5min,he wont talking about the dealing. If the lifetimer is maybe will pay me 200E, whenever i bought the phone yesterday or no...
if the lifetimer is 4-5min, he wont give me money...but if i do some change, to give him my phone and cash, after he resets the lifetimer, and sells it like a new.
AND HE DO THIS NOT 1 OR 2 TIMES. So why the poor student s*ck

Personnaly, more a phone is "used" better it is, otherwise why use it !

Just installed a new rom... how do I enable the data connection? so the weather works? or do I have to pay for internet service?
I have Centennial Wireless.

If you have set up your network connection via Connection Setup then it will use GPRS or EDGE or what i do is turn off the auto update and update via Wi-Fi.

generally if you want to use a service such as the data service that provides you internet, you need to pay. duh
using the phones wifi on the other hand, is free.

$24.99 for 20 meg a month , and $39.99 for 250 meg.
@ this time they only offer an unlimited data plan for the blackberry .
however , i have been told that they have no way of tracking usage .
when you sign up they give you a username and password to access the settings page on their website which guides you through the setup.
and NO i cannot give you the u/n & p/w . sorry

if your phone has the ability to track and log usage, what makes you think the provider cant? thats like saying a gas station has no way of tracking how much gas you pumped.

Unless you can be like me and figure out a way to get free EDGE from your provider, ur gonna have to spend your money like everyone else. Now i know ur all wondering how thats possible, but i used my provider's blackberry APN, UN and PW as a connection and viola. Bare in mind that u have to have someone on the inside to help you. We all know alot of ppl viewing these threads, soem might even be from my network(laugh), so PM me if u have any questions. Remember dude its this or $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

this info comes from ( a reliable source ) . dont see what he has to gain by disinformation .
he also stated that he has yet to see anyone have to pay for overages , and knows several people that are surfing excessivley .
it is odd that even on my itemized billing , that there is no data usage figure nor is it available online when i log into my account .
im not saying it's impossible or will not be implemented soon, just that they currently are not keeping track .
only passing on what i was told ,

all im saying is you are assuming "they have NO way to track it". thats silly. they provide it. how on earth could you think they CAN'T track what they provide? using free software you can monitor edge data, your home connections data, my data, stylez data (totally all porn..email for the data logs).......thats all im saying...whether they charge you for it or not, im sure you are telling the truth. but when its something untested and something "a good friend told me", dont go telling people to do it...what happens when this poor kid does it and gets a data bill for $600? you gonna help pay cause your advice was hearsay and ill informed, in turn ****ing this kid? im gonna guess "no".

he cant access the correct settings without paying or copying them from a friend ( which would be piracy ), in which case i dont think it would work anyway .
and if they were to run up the data usage , then that is the choice they made . no one including myself forced them to do it .

Did anyone ever find out what happened to him?

I heard his girlfriend dumped him and he spiraled into depression, resorting to alcoholism and prescription medication abuse to help numb his pain.
Oh wait, that's me. No I haven't heard what happened to mazook.

I did a little research a few days ago, and saw some "suicide watch" websites, where people had been posting about him, but, haven't checked those again..He hasn't posted anything since then anywhere, so I hope that something bad didn't actually happen...

Did he just vanish from the scene or did he give an indication that something was up?

If it was an attempted suicide and they handle it the same as in my city (in Texas), mazook was probably taken to a short-term center for observation, which could be six weeks or so. Depending on behavior there, they may be transferred to a long-term facility for three months.
Without insurance, going to a state center means you will stay there every day that the state is paying for it, so the full three months.
Edit: And if they used pills/alcohol, there is a high chance that the paramedics made it in time.

i guess the issue is, no one knows if they got to him on time, let alone if this actually happened..he was very active here and on Rootz, and hasn't posted anywhere since that incident..

Hey guy, so my mom is super protective and all this junk and im 16 years old and a guy im not that bad of a kid so theres no need for this plus a total invasion of privacy. They bought this thing its called guarddad for 70$ ! and they dont know i know about it. but it sees all text incoming and out, if i take a pic from my camera they can see it all call logs internet and all this crazy ****. i want it off or blocked, i want my phone on total lockdown with full privacy i have a sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 rooted. Please help

I had to Google it to find it, it's an interesting program. This isn't going to be what you want to hear, but it seems she is looking out for you. Moms do that, all through life. With all of the horrible things online she is worried about you. My suggestion, instead of going behind her back, is to talk with her about it. I don't think you will get the help you were expecting from this place. XDA is for development, not hacking.

That's sounds a little over-protective to me. Even texts I understand but pictures? That's a little invasive. Anyway, think u could provide a link? I couldn't find what he was referring to.

It's actually called DadGuard. It is invasive, that's why I suggested he needs to talk to them about it.

Not saying talking to your parents is a bad idea. But if you want to go the behind their back route download this and flash in custom recovery. Dadguard will be nonexistent after

If I found out my kid removed whatever tracker I put on her phone, that would be the end of that device.

Download the file I posted above and flash it. Problem solved

Wow. This app extremely blurs the line between overprotectiveness and outright 24/7 monitoring.
But won't they notice when they stop receiving the logs of everything you do? I mean, even antivirus programs will notify you once the online service detects that you haven't used the app in several days and such. I'm fairly sure this app would have some sort of safeguard like that.

I was thinking the same thing with regards to both parts of this post. However, I hope this brat teenager does flash this "fix" and get in trouble. If he thinks he is so wise to the ways of the world and is so capable of taking care of himself, he can feel free to move out/get kicked out and then:
Pay rent/mortgage
Pay utilities/electric/water/etc.
Pay for groceries
Pay for car/insurance
Pay for TV/internet/etc.
Cook/clean/do laundry for himself
And oh yeah, presumably attend high school every day.
What an ungrateful little punk. He needs to understand that parents have the best interests of their kids at heart, and parents have already gone through teenage life themselves.
