Hi, I am trying to send and receive photos with my HTC P3300 running WM 6 Pro.
This machins just refuses to do it, I just get a message saying something about "do you know that this connection will be closed down if you do this?" which disappears within two seconds giving me barely time to read it. I've answered yes and no with little difference.
I think it's to do with MMS, which I don't really understand. Could it be that my sim card doesn't support MMS? I'm on an O2 payg.
Can anyone help me get this photo sending to work? Thanks

Hi does anyone know if theres an app that that will do this for the wizard or wm5 in general , as i still have times when i forget to resend messages after they fail when im in a bad reception area.
Thanks
Matt
Unless there's something out there which already does this, I'm going to break out in a C# frenzy and attempt to write one myself.
Anyone got any pointers to code that does stuff in terms of accessing the WM5 mail folders?
There is one but hard to find...
The Palm Threaded Messaging app solves this problem and is very nice!
i have a verizon xv6700 and the sms app will ask to resend if there is a failure in the delivery its called text message retry and it appears in my program files dont know who makes it but the version info is 1.13 copright 2005 any other questions?
Hi all thanks for the replys i thought this thread had died , i think the issue has gone away with AKU3.3 though i need to have a look.
Im trying to send a picture, under 300k to someone else but keeps giving me an unable to send error with an envelope at the top with an exclamation point through it. I also seen something asking me if I wanted to stop the current connection to send.
Anyone running into this problem or know how to fix it?
In order to send/download MM messages, the current active connection may be closed (this may affect other applications in use) Do you want to continue?
Then it it asks me to either HIDE or Menu, with Yes or No in it.
Any help would be appreciated. Im getting MMS's from others, can send pics via email and upload to Facebook, its sending out is what the problem is
well i tried sending a picture message to my buddy who has att or sprint, i am verizon, i pressed send and walked away, came back turned the screen on and had a notification saying that it failed. however he still got the message. this is the only one i have tried, as i don't send pics a lot. so i take people aren't getting your pics even though it says they fail?
Thanks for replying. Im a TMOBILE customer and on one of the pages around here, lol, I found a thread where I had to go in and change the address in the MMS settings to where it was going. If you are a TMOBILE customer and have any problems, let me know, I can walk you through how to set it up without issue, plus the 6.5 has a quick uploader for Facebook, much easier than sending a picture or video as an email
Hey guys,
Picked up a desire yesterday and its great, though I'm having some issues with sms. I notice I don't receive any texts until I send a text first, then I'll receive 2 or 3 texts, timestamped in the past, up to an hour ago!
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks.
edit: unrooted on o2
i get a similar problem, i know i should have received a text message but it doeant show up for hours.
unrooted on tmobile uk
Most likely when your phone is connected over GPRS the text don't come through till you disconnect, used to happen on my N95.
So if my phone is operating in GPRS mode, until it decides it doesn't need the internet anymore and disconnects, it won't retrieve texts... right. So any workarounds or fixes for this?
Prety much, after I use GPRS I just made a call and during or after the call my text came in.
Been getting this all day, are people really just dealing with this or is it only a few people that have this issue?
I am having another problem... on T-mobile, my phone won't download MMS messages. It will just say Download error, General Network Failure... After it expired (3days) , I was sent a link to the T-mobile website, where I am able to see it for 14 days.
Another problem that I am having, the phone is struggling sending long text messages... 4 or 5 normal lenght messages 500-600 characters... I am using the Text App provided with the phone.
I have a problem that I dont think is an actual problem I think its just how the phone works, and tbh its a bit rubbish.
If you dont have signal when you hit send (im my office at work I only get signal on a little square of the desk) the phone says "message not sent". Sometime when it gets signal it will send the message, but if it doesnt get signal quick enough it seems to just give up sending.... a bit lame really....
I'm going to post a message up with the T-mobile UK MMS settings so people in future can find it on search. Have a look in 5 mins.
JAmes.
I've got the same issue with my HTC Desire.
My operator is a Belgium one, namely Mobistar.
I've got the impression that when i open the sms box, i start seeing the messages. Don't know if it's the communication that goes wrong, or the 'throughput' in the phone (screen, alerting...).
After installing (and using of course) chompSMS, this problem is gone... yipppie...
Hi,
I have a Norwegian HTC Desire unbranded phone, but i currently live in Qatar and i use it with my sim card in Qatar...
From time to time I write some text messages to Norway to friends and such,
but there is one of my friends I can't reply sms to...
I use "ChompSMS" as a messages client, and his phone nr is saved on my phone memory, with the country prefix and all...
When I compose a new message to him, he gets the text message, but when i reply to the message, the country prefix does not get in cluded in the text, so I get a failure when trying to send it...
When i press "view message failure", the nr its trying to send it to is "90508395" insted of "+4790508395", this is the only contact i have this problem with, all my other norwegians friend i can reply to without a problem..
Anyone have a soloution?
Thanks...
Anyone have a soloution for me?
Would be deeply apriciated....
I had the EXACT same problem and people thought I was crazy.
The only solutions I found were to either to change to Handcent, dont know why, but it fixed it.
OR
Reflash to a new rom. That completely fixed the problem and I was able to go back to chompsms.
Thanks ALOT!
I will try Handcent now, and hopefully it will all go away
Thanks again
It could be also a setting on your friends phone, something like reply to and he has that set up with his nr. but not in intl format. Worth checking...

I got nowhere using chompsms, and no help from posting on the forum. Some googling revealed handcent, which I now use every day. It just works, without requiring googling or forums etc. Like you'd expect an SMS app to be, really.

+1 on the handcent.. Works great for me
Hi guys,
First post, so, firstly, hello! I've been using this website for a while, you guys make some awesome themes and home screens!
As of last night, I cannot send, or receive, any text messages (SMS). I never send MMSs so I don't know if that works either. I've tried restarting the device, removing + inserting the SIM card, turning mobile signal off and on again, and nothing seems to work!
I'm on the HTC S620
It's essential for work that I can stay in touch by text message, and unfortunately, I can't find anywhere else that can help me.
Thanks
Do you have sufficient money on your account?
Check if your SIM works with an other mobile phone for this.
I too am having issues sending and receiving text.Mine came about after a factory reset. Which give me the message "text message cannot be sent".
