WM6.1 UltraClean edition? - P3600 ROM Development

Is it possible to get ultra clean version somehow? I saw almost perfect version made by Alex for Kaiser, but nothing for Trinity. Sorry if this was discussed, spent few hours reading this forum and found nothing.

yes,
I same.

Probably the closest you will come to one is:

the superlite version. I have tried many ROMs and keep going back to this one.

my response will be subjective of course,
but its best u try both for a day and make a decision based on your requirements.

As new as I am on the board, trust me on this... go and read enough of the threads and the wiki to answer the question by yourself. It will save you a lot of grievances in the long run
PS: IMHO, the answer really depends on each case... it hinges on how you use your device and what you are looking for... every chef knows what they are doing and why
I am really sure each has a different flavour, BUT a none baise answer is needed I have been flushing my Herms twice a week now and I am really thankfull for all of you guys.
I would have to go with Black v1.2 and then XDA-Live v0.20 at a close second. What really puts black over the top for me is it just seems much snappier then all the rest.

Depends on what you want and how you use the phone...
I've tried both recent releases of LVSW and Black 1.2. Both with radio 1.38.00.10. My carriers are both UK based (Vodafone and O2). I've tried these combinations in UK (South) and USA (North Carolina).
I've had no issues at all with either (except Black loads like a racing snake and LVSW loads like a pig - time wise).
I get good phone, GPRS (H , E, U etc), WIFI and email (not push because I don't use it).
I've settled on LVSW for now. The only reason is because with cLaunch some of my small icons don't show up too well against the black background.
Which is best is subjective - try them and discover...

I'm guessin that must mean that black is faster loading? Just a little confused because I've seen both animals move pretty darned quick but since the snake is racing and the pig doesn't seem to be doing anything
once you go black you never go back... seriously though, i cant answer this very well, i have only played with them and havent used them on my main phone yet...
LVSW all the way
For me, LVSW is the only choice, as the newest version of black and spb Pocket Plus do not play well together. As Pocket Plus offers more for me than black, black had to go and LVSW and pocket plus play great together.
Don't get me wrong, I really liked black - as well as the other WM6 ROMS. However, I've tried them all out and the 3/20/07 version of LVSW has given the most enjoyment and caused the least grief for me.
Your mileage may vary.

Yep, you're right (forgot you guy's over the pond have fast pigs - met a few forgot most ).
I'll try this in correct English... LVSW took a long time to flash (much more than 25 minutes). Black took less than 5 minutes. In fact, Black was so quick to flash it became easier to re-flash (thus clearing all my setup) than uninstalling and re-installing apps when I first played with it.

I understand now - damned us americans - I don't think we technically speak english over here any more - they should start calling this bastard child american and stop insulting the English language hahahhaa
I also understand you were talking about flashing - I thought you were talking about booting. Yes - Black does install quicker and the reason for that is it has no radio included. LVSW does. If you strip out the radio, it will flash just as quicklying. I am pretty sure that in the new version released today (which is a newer version of WM6 BTW) somebody stripped out the radio and posted a link somewhere in the comment so that should flash in just a few minutes

Cheers, I understand that LVSW has radio and black doesn't but LSVW seemed so SLOOOW after flashing Black.

If you're doing flashing soon (and assuming this is still the current version) here's the link to the stripped down LSVW: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1187346&postcount=35
It should install in about 5 minutes as opposed to the 20ish minutes of the official version - when you strip out the radio (and to a lesser degree ext rom) it will install much quicker.

They shouldn't fry your PDA, but there are plenty of people out there who may disagree. Do a lot of reading and be sure to use Olipro's Hard-SPL because if you do get a problem this will help make it recoverable.

I am on XDA Live 0.20, and must say that I am very satisfied.. A new version will appear around 1. april. BUT. New or updated roms a being developed almost weekly, so what is better one week might not be the next - or what is better for one is not for you...
If you are new as me - just take one, and get familiar with that, because all versions have pros and contras - bugs and issues. Look at the programs integrated - find one, or if speed is essential - find another without ;-).
I dont think a final answer can be given - but take your time to read the thread regarding the one you are thinking of....
And for me; I am waiting for the XDA live 0.30...

Best build for a XDA IIs wm200se?

Ok, I'm pretty much getting to grips with my IIs...
I've already upgraded my rom to o2's 1.40242 (up and down just to practice) and I know what I'm doing in so far as editing my registry... but my machine still isn't all it could be.
I've pretty much read the forum upside down, but there are so many options to this and that scattered around in the various threads that that it would take me forever to try them all for functionality, so as opposed to asking for help, I'd like to instead call upon your collective experience.
As said I'm looking to make my machine the best it can be for a wm2003se PDA (not really looking to upgrade to wm5 because 2003 is still the most compatible os out there at the mo), so I'd like your thoughts on the best roms and radio versions based on your useage. (best being most stable and functional (heh, I really like a2dp... but I know the issues).
So... what's your advise?
Thx in advance, all suggestions most welcome (well.... the non-profane ones anyway. )
Finally... big kudos to all the devs,(pro and hobby) you all done some really stunning stuff, this is a hell of a forum. (I'd name them but I'd like to finish this post today.)
maybe you can try he system rom from this progect:
http://sx66-blueangel.home.comcast.net/
also, upgrade your radio to the latest one.
MORE options!... are you purposely trying to give me brain melt?
I might give it a try at some point when it comes out of beta... but for the moment I'm really just going for stability and functionality.
Also you mentioned the latest radio rom.. which (if I'm correct) is the 1.15 version.. but I've read that alot of people have gone back to 1.13.... ho hum.
Thx though.
Any more suggestions, people?
What about suggesting a really nice cooked rom (or baked.. whatever.)
Also any chance of giving me a reason why you would recommend a particular rom over another?
Thx.

no problem man
I'll try the upgrade to radio 1.15, and if it don't go well, i'll change to 1.13.
Anyway, also would like to try out one WM5 release, I am thinking in one clean helmi release.
Also, i've got from one portuguese forum, some interesting files that put the 2003 SE with one graphical aspect similar to wm6. (thats one of the things i'll try.
By studying all those files, maybe one day, we can compile one rom to our needs.
Sounds interesting.. but watch you don't slow your machine down to much.. that's (and compatibility issues) my main reason for not going to new with my os.. all the pretties just bog the system down.
I will try.
also, i believe those new rom's are much faster and stable than the first ones that appeared.

here, the only recommendations we get is this: "screw it alone, we don't like you to do questions"
but for WM2003 there aren't big recommendations. it is already one outdated platform, and all of them are with the eyes on WM5 platform.
the last system roms are based on 1.42.xxx

The newest original rom from o2 was the 1.40.242.. I think that the 1.42 is from t-mobile.. do you know if that will work on an XDA IIs?

Advice On Rom Please

Hi guys im currently using the Athena @ the moment and no much choice in ROMS ive just upgraded the contract for my misses and got a o2 xda orbit will be running with Vodaphone Sim and a 1GB mico SD its a great phone and theres an amazing amount of ROMS on here she isnt as technically minded as me and i want a Rom thats Cool, functional and with a simple interface she's by no means stupid as uses mine every now and then but dont want a Rom thats buggy etc Any one advise a good simple stable Rom to use I Know its a personal choice but i would appreciate some advice... Thanks Guys
It's all a matter of preference as they are all good, except the official O2 ROM. Meschle's look the nicest and have some really good toys especially his new Vanilla (with cherry) release, but I personally prefer Tom Codon's Black and Blue series.
I'd would wait for his 4.2 release, but if you can't wait, then 4.0 is great. I tried 4.1, but the infamous 'storage card' bug did put me off a little. I try most of the ROM's, but I am getting counseling for this addiction.
thank you for the advice the touch and black and blue roms took my fancy so will probably try one of these... Thanks again

Mate having gone through pages on pages I can only see cherry referred to in POLL but it is closed, Please help
am I blind
or just mad
In this case 'cherry' means that Meschle took the original WM6 OEM rom, made by Microsoft and --instead of adding a lot of fancy and sophisticated progs-- just added the fresh versions of some really useful utilities (as he put it in the first post of the related thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332531 See the bullet points!)
So, it's a quite simple rom, but enhanced with his cherry picking amongst the wide variety of apps that make the usage of our Artemis easier and more effective.
At least I see this way... (I'm far from being an expert).
The official HTC Europe WM6 rom has just been released (see a lot of fresh thread abuot it).
So, if you are cautious (I am), I suggest you to flash your Orbit with this rom. It must be stable and more or less bug-free (but certainly there is no guarantee...)
And later you can switch to a cooked one, if you wish so.
But be aware: first you should run USPL! See thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311403

5.2.22222 vs 5.2.20753

Could someone explain where these .22222 builds are coming from? PDAVIET usually has the latest versions, and he/she released .20753 couple of days ago, but never released .22222 (which appeared earlier on this forum). So how come this version is higher? Is it truely .22222 or is it actually .20222? I'm a bit confused.
I've also asked myself this pertinent question... Who has the answer ?????
C'mon guys... don't be lazy

Ervius quote from ITA rom thread "the os e xip are from build 20749". He just changed the numbers that's all.
thanks Chavonbravo !!!
So karmba_a pulled the same trick with his ROMs? Not very wise to do so imo, very confusing and pointless.
Yes, very pointless. I really appreciate all the work and nice roms chefs give out, but it sure would be nice if they'd stop messing around with the version numbers just to look cooler or act like they have something newer than anyone else.

Newbie Rom Advise

I'm looking for a new ROM and was after some advise.
I've been running the stock HTC ROM on my O2 Ignito since day one (O2 ROM is the awfal), and upgraded to the new release last weekend. But i'm now getting itchy feet (and have some spare time at work) and would like to try some cooked ROMs.
I'm after something that is fast + stable and is good for multimedia, web access and I don't want any fancy skins on TF3D.
Anyone got any suggestion?

Anytime - good luck!
I have been using Shaks 3.10 ROM for some time now and have had absolutely no problems. My Diamond is in use 24 hours a day and for at least 8 of those hours is running TomTom. (incidentally, using TomTom v 7.910 with this ROM has almost zero lag). The ROM has recently been updated to v3.2 but as I am so pleased with the version I am using I have not switched. I have tried most of the WWE ROMs you will find here and this is the most reliable I have found.

You arent gonna get good answers asking that.....
Everyone believes that the best ROM is the ROM that fits your needs better. For some Duttys might be great for some it might not (like me).
It all boils down to the personal choice and the "feeling" that you get form the ROMS.
Personally I am using Swtos V2.5 Almost Full. It is amazing.
I also recommend very good ROMS by Chef udK.
But once again its a personal choice. Thats why you will get crappy answers for a crappy question.
Start flashing and testing, you will eventually find the perfect ROM.
Greets.
unfortunately - there is no simple answer to the best ROM, you might want to check some great benchmarks by pietrucci here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406640
i keep moving from one to another every week or so
good luck!
While it may not have been said in the nicest way, cyron_at is correct. The best way to find a ROM for appropriate for your use is to browse the Diamond ROM Development forum, and read the first few posts of each ROM thread. By doing this, you will be able to determine if a particular ROM suits your needs.
