Sandisk, Panasonic or ....?
I recommend Transend 150x (fast) 4gb for about £55
What is the max sd size I can put on my Jamin? Is it 4G the max size?
In theory there is not a maximum size, but until you buy a particular brand and try it, you never fully know...

Ha, I have the same and I think it's pretty good too. Don't hesitate to buy a 4GB card - the space is never enough
4gb microSD or SD
Now I use Transcend 1Gb MMCmobile and I decide to buy card with more space.
Which one 4Gb card are complitable with Qtek S200 - microSD or SD?
I want microSD because of microSD is complitable with lastest Nokia and Benq-Siemens mobile phones so it's more universal.
So, which 4Gb microSD with adapter is fully complitable with Qtek S200? Anybody test it? Or better to buy standard (full phisical size) SD?
SD is the right choice for the Prophet, but if you intend to change your phone/PPC soon you are better off with a microSD.
I myself had a 4GB SD for my Prophet but I swapped it for a Herald/P4350. Nice device but it uses microSD. That sucks
microSD so far is only available as 2GB max. If you need 4GB of space take a SD-Card if you can live with 2GB than definitly go for microSD.
It usually comes with an adapter to be used as a SD-Card.
btw 4GB is the maximum size for the Prophet.
I am always wondering about this because I use a Dopod 818 pro, and the manufacturer's website says it supports up to 1GB SD Card. So it can support a 4GB on that model? Can any verify this for me, thanks!

Yes, 4GB SD-Card can be used by Prophet devices. I for myself used it for the last ten months without a problem. anything above 4GB I cannot guaranty. I'm not sure about SDHC-Cards if they are working in those devices.
Thanks Kelvin for your info. I will try to buy a standard 4GB SD card then. One more question, do you think the speed rating of the SD card has any effect on the performance? Would getting a 150x card be better?

I checked my old SD card and it was a 133x Speed. I was pleased with it. I'm not sure if the 150x performes better/faster on the Prophet, actually not even sure about the Prophet SD slot read/write performance. But in general it won't hurt going for the 150x if the price doesn't differ much from a 133x. SO GO FOR THE 150x
Thanks for your answer. Will buy it at the weekend!
It would be faster, But not on the prophet
The prophet can't use the speed since it cannot write data on a memory card so fast, Actually, Today the only speed limit is the device itself, The cards are allways getting faster and faster and faster and...........
Hello again!
I have choise between two 4Gb cards for my Prophet:
1. Transcend 4Gb Secure Digital card [MLC, 30x] (43$)
or
2. Transcend 4Gb mini Secure Digital card SDHC miniSD (43$)
or
3. Transcend 4Gb Secure Digital card 150x (50$)
Which of them is the best for Prophet (Qtek S200)?
My choise - 2nd or 3rd card (prefer 2nd because more universal) but I would like to read people's opinion. Can i feel real difference between this cards onn Prophet?

Not sure if Prophet can cope with SDHC technology, probably not.
So, 4GB SD Card will recognize in my Dopod 818 Pro with still original WM5 shipped ROM?
I tried a 4gb SDHC card with my prophet today, it didn't work. I wonder if there's a patch for sdhc support.
Hi there,
Bro has just picked up an Xda Orbit and I wanted to know if there are any high speed Micro SD cards at 1GB or 2GB available?
Since my Xda2i days, I've been impressed with the Transcend range but they dont seem to do any hi speed micro sd cards - or at least I can't see them listed !
I'm open to other's Sandisk etc but I'd like them to be hi speed cards
Can anyone point me to sites which have them please?!
Cheers!

Right hand side 2gb £49.99 +postage, I bought one just before Christmas all cool.
But note the thread on MicroSD issues on the Artemis/Orbit in other thread - issues with the PDA not SD card.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285511
i can only recommend the card mentioned by ricardoC above. have been using it for about twelve weeks now and had no issue with it at all. you should keep in mind though, that afaik, the speed of a card INSIDE a ppc device is purely dependant on the speed of the device. therefore the stated read and write speeds not applicable. nevertheless i FIND the card to perform faster in my hero in comparison to sd cards inside my mdac one.
greetz
got mine here: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270057565199
SanDisk memory products have never given me any problems, plus there is 5 year warranty here in Switzerland.
I used a "standard" SD in my old BlueAngel and when I changed it for an UltraII Sandisk SD TomTom map access/scrolling was a LOT faster. Its true the card is only as fast as the interface but you want to get the max out of it so fastest card you can get is best.

It might be true on a Blue Angel but the standard SanDisk SD card is more than fast enough for the Magicians SD interface so buying an Ultra version is just a waste of money.
Disregard my reply, I thought I was still in the Magician forum.
It might be true for the Artemis though.

high speed micro sd card - update
Hiya
I ordered a 1GB Sandisk Ultra 2 card for my bro's orbit and hopefully it'll work without hiccups and possible corruptions!
My bro's Orbit will be my little test unit and if all is well, I'll get one too ! and the same micro SD card of course!
thanks for the pointers
Cheers, Dennis! West London UK!
Depending on what you want it for note that TomTom's single map of western europe is 900mb - so it will nearly fill a 1gb card, just thought I would mention it.
I use transcend never have any problem with P800w or Artemis
i'm using this brand since Dopod 818Pro or XDA NEO
I've done a lot of searches, but I haven't found any thread that solves my doubts...
I have a 2 GB Sandisk MicroSD in my HTC P3300 and it works perfectly (in fact I never suffered the corruption bug), but this is very few storage for me so I need a 4 GB memory card. My questions are:
1st - Does it exist any 4 GB MicroSD (not MicroSDHC)? I've readen some posts talking about them and I've seen some links in eBay shops, but nobody has confirmed if they are fakes. Anybody could tell me if 4 GB MicroSD exist and where to buy them?
2nd - If you have a 4 GB MicroSD, have you tested it in your HTC Artemis? Does it work? Have you got WM5 or WM6? Official or "non-official" ROM?
3rd - If you have a 4 GB MicroSDHC, have you tested it in your HTC Artemis? Does it work? Have you got WM5 or WM6? Official or "non-official" ROM?
I've opened a poll to know more clearly if I have the possibility to upgrade my storage card or I'll have to bear with that poor 2 GB Sandisk... Please, vote and write a post telling which brand/model of Artemis and MicroSD/MicroSDHC do you have and what operating system and ROM version do you use
Sorry for my bad english, I hope you haven't suffered to understand this message
Thanks
Nobody has tested a 4 GB MicroSD/MicroSDHC in his Artemis? I cannot believe it!
Regards
Someone did test a 4gb card and it didn't work for hin. On my phone right now so doing a search would be a pain. Search for sdhc in the Artemis mobile 6 forum and you should find it though.

Thank you for your answer
The thread you were talking about is this one. In one of the last posts a person says that he/she has tested a 4 GB Sandisk MicroSD in the Artemis with negative results, but doesn't specify if it's a High Capacity MicroSD (MicroSDHC) and in which OS the test was done
I would like to know more opinions and to see votes from people who has tested also a 4 GB MicroSD (HC or non-HC), I'm sure that there are more users who has experience with this kind of memory cards and we all would have a more clear idea if they tell us the detailed results
Regards
Well if you or someone can point out a couple 4 GB cards that are available in the U.S. online I will buy up to 3 to test just to try and bring some closure to the question.
The only 4GB micro SD card I could find was out of stock (J&R music). Based on a little searching it seems to perpetually be out of stock. I added myself to get an alert should it come in however.
I have done a bit of research and I am pretty sure the P3300 will not work with a 4GB card, but I am willing to try.
It is not the traces or the pinout on the card as many have surmised that is the problem though. The SDHC uses FAT32 whereas SD uses FAT16. So unless the system has the capability of reading FAT32 the question of circuitry is moot. Everything I have read points to 2GB being the limit for non SDHC and that the P3300 does not support it.
Another common misconception seems to be that there are non SDHC 4GB micro sd cards. I see no evidence that this is the case. Furthering the improbability is the fact that the Fat16 has an upper limit of a 2GB partition. (There is an exception to this where the FAT16 uses 64K clusters, but this is unlikely to be done or work in ANYTHING without custom drivers. I never even heard of this till I did this research.)
None the less I would be happy to be proven wrong.
I've read a thread somewhere in this forum where a senior member (or was it a mod?) had drivers to make the artemis sdhc capable which usually is not possible if the hardware is not built for that. Search for it and maybe you'll find it.
I have read most of those threads and none are conclusive.
You also can not do anything with drivers if the hardware is not already compatible. There is not any question that the p3300 does not officially support microsdhc.
The debate rages and a thread like this keeps coming up.
From what I've read so far, the only thing required is a SDHC driver. There should not be problem on the hardware side.
Some say the WM6 ROMs have SDHC driver. My Wizard has WM6 and the driver on it looks different, but I don't have a SDHC miniSD to verify. Ultimately, to prove it works on Artemis, I need a 4Gb SDHC microSD so I can try the stock drivers and may be copy the drivers from my Wizard.
SanDisk 4GB microSD-HC DID NOT WORK on MDA compact III
Hello,
I`ve an MDA compact III which was delivered with WM5 OS. I`ve an 2GB microSD - Card from Sandisk, working perfectly. A little bit small that thing for my big fingers... =
Now I was searching for higher capacitys of microSD - Cards and found an SanDisk microSD-HC with a capacity on 4 GB. Bought for app. 60€ and testet on my device: NOTHING. No work. The WM5 OS did`t recognise the Crad. The card is`t shown inside the System. It seems like NO card inside the device. The card is OK. There was a little USB reader in the package, where I can access to the card.
OK, maybe it is the WM5 OS and I decided to upgrade to WM6. (German O² OS using the UPL method...) The upgrade was done in 10 Minutes, but the card works NOT! The same reaction like on WM5.
Now I`m wayting for an patched OS with (maybe) an SD-HC driver inside. Let`s pray...
Best regards, Sven
The Artemis is not able to read/write microSDHC Cards. The Interface of the Artemis permits only FAT16, microSDHC works only with FAT32. Artemis cannot recognise it. Normal microSD with 4 GB if should be at least recognised.
JanetPanic: Before opening this thread I had done many searches to get information about SDHC, and I know that SDHC compatibility is a hardware problem rather than a software/drivers problem. However, I hoped that our HTC Artemis had a SDHC compatible slot, looking at HTC Trinity's example... By the way, before the Artemis I had a Dell X51v with a 4 GB SD (non-HC) that worked like a charm; I expect that in a -near- future there'll be 4 GB MicroSD cards
lSSBl: Very interesting your MicroSDHC "review", althought you have ruined most of my hopes. Let's pray that future WM6 official ROMs will give the Artemis the ability to read MicroSDHC cards
AlfredENeumann: I tell you the same as JanetPanic, the HTC doesn't have officially a HC compatible slot and however it supports that kind of memory cards. Let's pray...
Regards
@AlfredENeumann
You're wrong. The Artemis accepts FAT32 as well as FAT16 SD cards, no matter if WM5 or WM6. But that has nothing to do with SDHC, what till now doesn't work with the generic WM6 drivers.
perhaps a solution: http://msmobiles.com/news.php/6308.html
http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/pdf/retail/SDHC1.pdf
That means, that the SDHC card is NOT backward compatible - you can't format it with FAT16, but you can format any 'normal' (micro) sd- card with FAT32, and it still works at the artemis. Tested by me, and a lot of other guys.
Has anybody Tried the SDHC driver from the HTC Trinity yet?

4 gb micro dilemma
Hey guys... see if you can help me out.
Installed the 4gb micro sd on my HTC Artemis and the SDHC driver from the previous post... windows mobile 5 doesn't recognize the card.
Not sure what to try, open to any suggestions.
c.
crap
Actually, after I've tried the 4gb Micro and installed the Trinity driver.. NONE of my storage cards are recognizable now. So I removed the driver.. and STILL none of my storage cards are recognized. BUSTED?!? Not sure how to fix this?

SanDisk have just announced an 8GB micro SDHC.... time we got these SDHC cards working in our devices! Anyone have any input on how we can find out if this is possible?
Sandisk 4gb SDHC no go
Hi all, just to let you know I tried all the WM6 rom's on these forums (thanks to all), reformated my sandisk 4gb microsd card fat 16/32 but no go..
(my 2gb sandisk card works fine with fat16/32), even tried trinity driver no go.
Hopefully the new WM6 rom from HTC this week will support it.

Anyone has a lower capacity microSD card working with the Universal through a SD-to-microSD adapter?
Dose it realy work?
I have Scan Disck Ultra II 4Gb.
AQnd unbranded 2Gb micro sd to Sd, works fine.
RE
So, there's a possibility that the 8GB microSD card might work provided that the Universal recognizes it
I'm sure it won't work ...
Hi folks, you should read before posting:
"With a read speed of 16Mbps and a write speed of 6Mbps, Samsung's 8GB microSD card well exceeds the Speed Class 4 SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity)"
As far as the Uni does not support SDHC, this one will not work (neither other SD-Cards with SDHC will, no matter of size or capacity).
Best regards,
tsfnet
Yep ... I think the maximum size allowed for the Universal is 4Go !!
Update: this thread might still be usable, so post here any info for other Axim roms x50v, x51v, x50, x51
just post the device and rom version first then the SD/SDHC/CF/CF II/SDIO card info and SDXC.....i wish..lol
For people that need a background of what are SDHC cards and Other SD cards Go here http://www.sdcard.org but by now everyone should know what they are, thats how old this thread is, but now the question is what is a SDXC card
OLD thread

Card type (SDHC,Mini SDHC)
Speed Class (2,4,6)
Brand (if any)
Thanks
i have yet to find any card that doesnt work in this device
sdhc:
8 gb ocz class 6
8 gb patriot class 6
4 gb sandisk class 2
non-sdhc:
4 gb ocz 150x
4 gb transcend 150x
2 gb kingston
1 gb toshiba
I'm tested Transcend SDHC 8 GB class 6
4GB Sandisk SDHC Class 2
Seagate 4GB Microdrive
4gb vgen SD, high speed
Sorry for my lame question?
I thought SDHC compatibility is a hardware related isuue, but from what I see here, does it mean that new SHDC cards will work with X50V WM06?
Transcend 4GB SDHC Class 6 appears to work in my x50v w/ Maglite's WM6 A02 RTM 0-PP. After a fresh format in a PC card reader, it shows size as only 165.5M on Total Comander's (Beta 3) Properties/General tab, but 3827.0M free on Properties/DiskSpace tab. Start/Settings/System/Memory/StoragCard shows 3827.01MB Total Storage, so I should be in good shape. After I load apps, I'll load it with large files to make sure.
Chas
p.s.: full capacity is usable.

Sorry for my late response but as far as i know SDHC cards work on the x50v but i do not know how MagLite got them to work but i have heard that new wm6 rom ver.s have the SDHC drivers. I also have seen the palm treo 650 (someone correct me if wrong) using the treo 700 driver update for SDHC cards.
i think that the support for these cards is software not hardware because the cards are the same nothing has changed but if it was a hardware problem then the cards should not even fit in regular sd slots. its like when mms card devises could not use sd cards but then and now we have devises that use both sd and mmc. both are the same(has differences but mostly the same) but now its just SD and SDHC
We just need to port drivers to other devises
8Gb SDHC Class 2 Transcend
This card recognized by Treo650 which updated SDHC driver taken from Treo680. But only CardExport can recognized as 8Gb card. Internal explorer and others only read it as 4Gb card but they can use all 8Gb capacity.

A 6gb hitachi microdrive for ipod mini not working
Greenhouse 16 GB SDHC, class 6 -- NO PROBLEMS
Works just fine in X50V running WM6 Maglite A02 RTM ROM with 0 MB page pool.
Couldn't find anything that said more than 8GB would work in X50V, but I got this for my camcorder, filled it with 12 GB of stuff just to test capacity, and stuck it in the Ax. I've been accessing some dictionary files on it dozens of times a day and frequently saving text and audio memos and screenshots for the last few weeks--not a hint of a problem.
A02 with O MB page pool, by the way, seems to be the sweet spot so far. Fast and super stable, and so far the only thing wrong is the width of the window for the Mic control panel (who cares?). Wireless doesn't work well in the A03 beta, and in any of these ROMS anything other than 0MB page pool seems to lead to frequent frustrating slowdowns.
Oh, yeah--no problems with
Regular SD

Transcend 16 GB and 32 GB 133X and 333X
Fujitek 8 GB and 16 GB 130X, 16 GB and 32 GB 266X (though one of the 8 GB cards died on its own)
post with any other rom info here, but still just for axim please
Sorry but Bump, this is still good, and the axim was made by HTC
I have a Axim x51v and I tested with:
SD cards

Sorry for late response i dont get updates from this thread anymore
As far as going past 32gb it might work but probably with write issues
Have there been updates to the sd driver, i have not updated my device since beta 1 and have not kept up with updates
IT WORKS!!!!! 64 GB SDXC on Axim X51v running WM6.1
I just purchased a 64GB SDXC Card off Amazon.com, manufactured by Transcend, and fitted it into an SDHC CF adapter, and It WORKS! True, it comes formatted using the exFAT file system, and you need to insert it into a USB adapter, connect it to your computer, then use the "HP USB Disk Formatting Tool" to reformat it to FAT32, but after that little exercise, it works Perfectly. My device is, as always, a Dell Axim X51v, running WM6.1 LennySH's A07 Beta 3 version. My guess as to why this is, is that an SDXC card is basically just an SDHC card formatted with the exFAT file system. If you reformat it to FAT32, it will work on all manner of devices with no issues.
