Hello everybody,
I have the following problem with my o2 XDA III and I'm wondering if there is anyone out who has the same:
I want to use a Nokia N90 (which supports 3G) as a modem for my XDA III, and I want them connected via Bluetooth. I know it offers the dial-up networking service (DUN) so that my XDA III could connect to it. But the only service my XDA III retrieves is the "OBEX File Transfer...".
Then I tried another mobile, the Nokia 6630, which I borrowed from a friend. But again, the XDA III only retrieves the OBEX.
Finally I shuffled my cupboard and got my old Siemens S55. Now, the XDA III detected both the OBEX service and the Serial Port service.
Even an update (BT 3500 --> BT 3900) could not solve that problem.
I know the Nokias support DUN, and that's why I think the mistake lies in the XDA III.
I'd be very pleased to hear from you!
cbruehl, who liked (until now) his XDA III very much.
Hi,
Yeah, the bluetooth seems to be cripled to stop you connecting via another mobile phone and make you use the operator it's got a sim card for.
I would love to do this to - my blue angel is now my 2nd phone/pda/satnav and gprs is expensive - if I want to use cheaper gprs in it i've got to swap the sim card with my main phone :-(
I've looked about quite a bit but can't find any kind of info or workaround.

There IS a solution for this....
I downloaded the BroadcomCorp_BT1.6.0.600.cab from the XDA FTP server and followed this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=18052&highlight=btwizardprofiles
to the modified btwizardprofiles.dll. I modified the CAB file so that this (older!) version is installed (it's 1.4.1.60) and that works fine. I did manage to find another 1.6.0.600 bluetooth stack, but that .dll bombed out on me  and I could not get the stack to install. Hope that helps.
How to use Quickly Reply?
Hi, all!
I'm a new member. Could someone help me?
HI,
If I reset I can connect to our home wifi network after entering the network key without any problem. I can connect maybe half a dozen times but then get "connecting to network" and nothing happens. Settings tell me the nework is available. Any ideas?

My Best Roms
XDA IIs UK from O2 - WIRELESS PROBLEMS FIXED!!
1. Best ROM so far without doubt for me is the BA_TMNL_14200_119_11300_Ship from T-MOBILE
AND its the fastest ROM ive ever used!
2. Best ROM (slightly slower)
XDA 1.42 115 T-Mobile Firmware (uses Radio 1.13)
3. I-Mates 1.40 WWE with Radio 1.13
still had an issue with audio dropping from incoming calls
If you've seen any of my previous posts you'll see the hell i've been in trying to get anything to work with these ROMS, now it ALL works. and I dont say that lightly!
i tried the last 2 factory ROMS from O2 UK 140.237 & 140.242 which is there latest and I had WIFI nightmares with both of those..
I must have spent 30 hours swapping ROMs and this is the best Ive found so far now. Seamless Wireless Hookup everytime! I have Rude FM 88.2 Streaming Live through my Linksys Router at 64k 44khz using Pocket Music 3.2 , Surfing the Net, even the GPRS is stil enabled with the WIFI signal, a special lead pipes the audio to my Amplifier it's been on all day playing variouse stations, Windows Media Player streaming well, even download Skype over the XDA and installed it.
Has anybody tried the MDA Compact III with a Bluetooth Access Point yet? I recently got one (via Ebay) and was under the impression that it had WLAN (but obviously doesn't).
I really like it and the only time I miss the Wi-Fi/Wlan is when I'm at home. If I could get hold of a BT AP it would bypass the need for Wi-Fi/Wlan provided it would work.
Does anybody know if the MDA Compact III has the LAN Access Profile?
Hi,
I have tried two different bluetooth hands free sets with my MDA Compact III. Neither of them will allow voice dialling over the bluetooth connection. They operate fine if I receive or initiate a call from the phone itself.
I have seen references to this being a Windows Mobile 6 problem, but nothing definitive.
Can anyone help please?

Is it possible to use the Desire as a CLIENT for a Bluetooth enabled DUN sharing device? I mean I want to use the Desire without signing up for an other internet contract SIM. Wifi is a solution, but when there is no wifi coverage, it would be really good if I could use my other phone's 3G connection, which can share it over Bluetooth DUN.
What I'm looking at is not tethering, but being a client for a tethered phone. Is there any ROM or app or trick which would make my Desire work as a DUN client?
i'm in the same requirement.
i have an Android tablet with wifi and bluetooth, and i've got a separate 3G/HSPDA phone.
so in the absence of wifi, i want to use my 3G phone (paired with my tablet via BT) and use the phone's connection to surf the web
it's like PC, connected to a phone via bluetooth and use the regular dialup networking to connect to the internet.
any links, reading materials (online) would be great.
thanks
Android + BT DUN
