What gives.
I've done a number of speed tests from a few different locations and my results are always around these numbers, which, from what i've seen, are nowhere near Rev A speeds. I am running 3.2.6 with radio 3.37.75 with Alltel. Im located in mid to northeastern ohio.
Does anyone have some advice on how to unlock rev a, or otherwise get it working (because i am pretty sure my phone is not using it after these speed tests)?

any ideas?
I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but anything related to the internet is about 10 times faster today for me... I thought i had my wi-fi on until I read a post about T-Mobile's 7.2 rollout. I suggest you all check out your speeds.
Speed checked, maybe this had somethign to do with the service outtage the other night LOL
Speed Increase? Not here
I purchased my TP2 in part because T-Mobile's web site indicated full 3G coverage here in Centerville, Ohio. I've had the phone for a week now, and have YET to see the 3G connection on the phone. The E is all I ever see, and that speed has not increased since the outage.
Maybe your local tower was upgraded.

Engadget is reporting that none of their tests are showing the new speeds yet, so it does appear to be limited to certain markets at this point.
so how do i increse my network speed if i have a speed of 177 with 3g
T-mobil HSPA roll out
T-mobile has started to roll out HSPA 7.2 mb in all 3G network areas. Go to www.tmonews.com to read up on it. They are trying to get most of the network up by the end of DEC. HSPA is much faster than 3g...about 3x.
Richard
To have 177 you must have a poor RF.
Honestly, I have 5mbps over Wi-Fi and that's more than the TP2 can handle for browsing. It doesn't load pages much faster vs a good 3G signal.
well i got 544 now that i have hspa turned on
Damn, I am in seattle and I range from 500kbps to over 3kbps via mobilespeedtest.com
here in phoenix i can get 3mbps on the handset and up to 9.3mbps thering on my laptop i even started playing call of duty using ics and see little lag. i am debating on canceling my cox subscription. i noticed this the day after the data outage. i can post speed tests if you dont believe me
i shouldnt have spoke so soon i only could get a max of 8.7 just now but im only at 3 bars on h on this side of my house... ill run further tests later...
here is test on speedtest
here is test on bandwithplace

dsl reports did not work because it said m,y connection was too fast for a mobile speed test
That is very nice, considering T-Mobile had their HSPA network crippled at a 4th of that a few months ago.
Testmyiphone.com works well, but the TP2 never ever registers higher than 2.17mbps over Wi-Fi. There is a limitation or something happening there because my iPhone averages over 4mbps(Wi-Fi) on the same site/same connection. Nevertheless it's accurate - over 3G here I get about 600-700kbps so no upgrades have been put online here.
So my palm pre would get 800 kilobits (100 kilobytes\second) to 1 megabits (125 kilobytes\second) a second at my home which has a tower about 60 yards away.
I now get only max 500 kilobits (62.5 kilobytes\second) a second maximum, which seems rather slow....
Is there a software cap on the download speeds?
Is sprint throttling traffic?
Anyone else notice slower speeds compared to their previous devices?
I used Xtremelabs Speedtest.
Thank you.
I haven't noticed a cap, but I do notice that speed fluctuates greatly. One second I am getting 1.5 MBps and the next; close to nothing. This is all while not moving.
Of course, I know next to nothing about how cell networks work, but it is annoying especially while I am tethering.
For testing I will run 2 different speedtest apps for data transfer speed, then I will use the stock web browser to test how long loading a full webpage takes.
Speed will be posted below as measured in mbps. Webpage loads will be measured in seconds.

I performed all of the 3g speedtests using the leaked android 2.34 EH17.
As you can see the results that I was able to achieve are really good.
I am located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the 3g speeds over here
are usually horrible, but in this particular area I was able to get great results.
I will be performing another set of data testing near Baker, La.
Over there the 3g speeds are slow and unstable, and although 4g is
available in that area I will be testing as far as possible from the 4g tower to
find out which modem can perform the best with very low 4g signal.
Inspired by HafizNafes, I decided to try a few of these where I live as well, in Raleigh. Sadly, 4G is not available at my house. Using Airave for 3G tests, so included a WiFi to show speeds for comparison.

Looks to me like you are having serious problems with your data speeds.
Any thing less than 600 kbps on sprint network is not good.
I also have problems where I live but at least I am able to use 4g here in baker louisiana.

Unfortunately here in Greenville, SC, those data speeds are a fact of life, best I can tell. I would very much like to see someone else here in Gville post some data results that show different, but I dont know anyone personally here that has a sprint phone. It does not seem to matter what rom, modem, tweaks i use, those are the speeds I get. These test mirror tests I did about 2 months ago as well. Oh, and an added bonus, our sprint stores here are abysmal, staffed by idiots, and I have to pay 10 dollars a month for 4g that it is not available anywhere in the entire state. All this talk about not having a data cap or throttling on the sprint network is irrelevant for me, because without 4g and with 3g speeds like that, I could never reach a cap even if one existed. At least here, Sprint is a massive joke on all fronts, and I wish I had never signed a contract with them.
I think that sprint is broke and they cannot afford to serve reliable high speed data to all of their customers. Next time I complain to them im going to make sure I tell them that.
I dont know why would sprint spend $6 billion to start selling iphones when they could have used that money to go all over the country fixing their 3g. But they keep denying that something is wrong with their 3g and telling customers to make sure that their prl is updated, which means nothing if sprint acually had data towers in our areas.
Any data for the EI22 modem?
In the same area I pulled 2.2 mbps download and 1.0 mbps upload using the new modem.
but it was during the morning at about 8am.

This is So Ture i live in newton nj and still No 3g but Sprint Still Claims there is 3g in the area..... and with the new "PRL" surveys is Worst then Ever
I have a motorola photon now and 3g speeds in my home area are still less than 150kbps.
sprint should lower are bills until they can get their stuff fixed. Its not fair that we have to pay more than t-mobile users with such horiffic service.
however in downtown my 3g speeds are incredible. the same can be said for 4g.
EI22 modem.
3g: 2.5 Mbps download 1.5 Mbps upload 95ms ping
4g: 9.2 mbps download 1.2 Mbps upload 100ms ping
Copying files across wifi, SMB fileshare. Note 3 - 3-5MB/sec (yes, MB, not Mbit). Note 7 - 500-700KB/sec. Both show similar wifi connection rates at 144 Mbit/sec.
Anyone else seeing crappy throughput on wifi?
No, mine is not that bad. I just did a speedtest.net on a 100 Megabit down 10 megabit up connection and got 50 megabits down (best the router will do in all honesty) and the full 10 megabits up. That roughly translates to 5 Megs a second down and 1 Up. I have read others complain about the speed though.
What app are you using to measure the speed?
I've got cox, pay for the premier package and its supposed to max out at 150mbps download and I believe 10mbps upload. Early mornings (2am or so) I see speeds on my 5ghz network (using an Arris SB 6141 DOCSIS 3.0 Modem and a ASUS RT-68P AC 1900 Wireless Router) well into the 190mbps range on my Note 7, highest I've had so far is 193mbps download. I consistently hit 10mbps upload but when it first starts out it pulls into the 25mbps range and slows down to the 10-13 mbps range upload.

Yeah lol the upload is nothing exciting, it's nice to see it jump into the 20+mbps range for about 10 seconds or so then throttle down around 10-13mbps. But I'm happy hitting over 150mbps later at night. But my Note 7 has been just as fast, if not slightly faster than my Note 4 was with throughput.
