Ok, so I was out of town this weekend and was scrolling through some appts comming up in april and noticed some events were on the wrong day (always 1 day forward). Upon further investigation I noticed there were alot of these occurances usually holidays or all day events. Then I noticed that these errors have only occured during the months of april and october so i immediately think DST issue, however I was under the impression that both WM6 and Vista had this issue patched and taken care of, so i'm not sure if that is truely the issue. Got home last evening and tried deleting the events that were wrong and resyncing and the same thing occurs everything is showing one day prior. Has anybody else experienced this and know of a fix?

Ok so where are you at? Which OS version are you using?
Maybe try disabling Auto Network Detect under phone setting, and see if that helps.
Have you tried changing the timezone on both the device and Vista, then changing it back to your correct timezone. This helped for the problem I had.

howdy all,
beleive it or not but i am expiriencing massive problems keeping the time zone. roughly estimated since 2007, i am finding the zone to shift irregularly from GMT +1 Berlin to GMT -8 Seattle. this leading to a shift of all appointments and alarms means massive complications. i find this to be reproducable by opening the alarms sections and setting an alarm. as if this is abug, the time zone shifts around this action, though not directly traceable.
any ideas???
I am having the same problems. It makes it really hard to appreciate the calendar and alarm and keep using it.
it seems i have found at least a remedy for this somewhere else:
set both the "home" and the "visited" time zone to the required one on your ppc. that does it for me.
at all wm5 developers: HERE IS A BUG!
Yes, confirm that bug on Polish T-Mobile MDA3c.
Solution is to set both timezones to the one you want.
They dont change after that.
Thanks. I hope it works.
I had the same problem, ActiveSync changed Home Time zone to Visiting zone on every sync..
I then changed to the same zone on both and got rid of the problem..
Thanks alot, this was driving me crasy.
Not only on activesync.
A set my homezone, close window, open clocks windows again and i have old (bad) timezone.
I send email to htc, and open issue,

and not to forget thanx you.
I had the smae problem on my cid unlocked Orbit with an HTC rom. I set both zones to gmt +1 - then did a soft reset - then set the visiting time zone back to gmt -8 so I dont wake anyone up when I call from Germany - and I have zero problems since then.
also on my t-mobile. but worse thing is after activesync then changing time manually back and soft-reset, I only could startup in safe-mode (from iLauncher). After a couple of hours all went OK again. one of my app is obviously checking time on files, freezing while it detects time bigger then current.
Thanks for advice
It's still a bug in WM5, an solved in WM6. So You should update to WM6 or set both timezones to the same time
I've been having problems with getting Windows Live Mail to sync all the time (yes, I have selected "sync when items arrive", but next time you look it has changed back to manual!).
I`ve been looking around in the registry and I think I've found where it's stored, could someone who's email is syncing correctly tell me what registry value they have at -
HKLM/Services/Windows Live/Sync/SyncType

Additional to that, does Windows Live have to be running all the time to sync as items arrive?
Thanks
Rob
I`ve wondered that too, I have tried both ways, but neither seem to work.
I'm having the same problem.
Just in case you are wondering, if you click on "As items arrive," and click on "done" and they you head back to it, it will NOT stick to it. That is normal, it does not stick to it.
Synctype = 1
Thanks for posting this question. I too have just started playing around with Windows Mobile Live.
I seem to think that 'as items arrive' does not stick. Also I have had success with WM Live getting messages when it was not running on my PPC so I am guessing it does NOT have to be running which is outstanding. Also I see that it will force a data connection instantiously upon a soft reset of the PPC.
All this tells me that WM Live is dug in deep into the ROM! Now the issue I seem to have with it.
I am betting that WM Live breaks the data connection invisibily. Here is why... It seems to work OK for a bit of time. Then even through the data connection shows connected NO applications on my PPC can access the internet. They all try but no data is ever returned. A soft reset and all is normal. I notice this about once a day and usually overnight.
Now I can't totally blame WM Live for this... I can blame my carrier, the internet in general, sun spots, etc... It is just so many variables to keep a working data connection going.
I changed HTCustom to keep my connection always on, so I'll see if that helps. Well this seemed to help. I did not have WM Live running and sent messages at different times to my WM Live email and got them all suprisingly.... I did not get the attachements pushed but I believe some others have posted that as an issue...
I've given up on it, it just seems to flakey to me.

It worked in black 2.0, but not in any of the latest roms (black 2.5, 3.0, LVSW, etc)
Anyone know what might have changed?
Noone seems to have a solution for this so far:
What happens every other day I sync is, after a long sync time with Outlook2003 on WinXPsp2, ActiveSync 4.5 shows a msg indicating a sync error (10 min or more), and a while later on the HTC there'll be a message saying that due to changes to Outlook, need to do complete resync.
AS4.5 shows Connected and Windows PC: Attention required. On the PDA, it shows Sync date and time with Attention required at the bottom of the screen.
Ok, when I click on Attention required a window pops up "There has been a change made on your server that requires you to re-sync all items on your device....."
Support code: 80883001
And every once in a while, I belive it tries to resync. When this happens, my PDA will sound an alert and there'll a message on the PDA with Yes and No options. The message is similar "There has been a change made on your server that requires re-sync..." But it also says all changes made will be lost.
On the PC, it will show synchonising.
All data are back again after this sync, but you have to reconfigure all Touch-contacts and HTC-home-contacts and all last calls do not show the referring contact anymore.
This seems to be a WM6-Problem, not only Artemis, but I don't know where else to post.
Same problem on a HTC Kaiser (TyTN II). Weird.... Annoying as it requires all my voicetags to be re-recorded and the HTCHome quick dial icons to be reprogrammed.
R
I have the same problem in my kaiser. I will try the "always open ActiveSync" workaround that I found in the following URLhttps://forums.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/showpost.aspx?pageindex=4&siteid=65&postid=2384890&sb=0&d=1&at=7&ft=11&tf=0&pageid=1
Hope it works.... If anyone else knows a workaround please post a solution
Did anybody found a workaround for this problem. I believe this is a problem special to WM 6.0 , do you think this is the case? Thx

This really seems to be the ONLY solution so far - I've had the same problem with B&B 4.3 and before.
the Sync lasted for more than 10 min most of the times.
since I have Bepes 0.53 with Pagepool 6 MB - it works just fine! Sync in 1 min!
Error code 80883001
The same is happening with my O2 branded Kaiser. Seems to only do it when I've been running Sat Nav (Co-Pilot) - that might be a coincidence though
related to Sat Nav?
I returned Co-Pilot and the problem never re-occurred until today! I can narrow it down to the a freeby download that offers to sync the clock on the PDA with Sat-time. Can't remember the name as I've now taken it off. Not sure whether the two events are related, but I'm determined to narrow it down and iy just seems a spooky coincidence that the problem only came back when I installed the freeby... (Co-Pilot, I seemed to recall had an option to sync the clocks too)
i have no co pilot or some other syncing clock...
i have a diamond touch 2 and the same prob and NO workaround
i did read, not to sync email subfolder, i do not sync any email right now, error is still there.
what to do?
80883001 error
I am having same problem - when I try to sync files I get attn required. then about 1 day later I lose all changes since last sync. Any clues?
Thanks
help
help please, this is driving me nuts!
M$ states that the DST fix for the USA is built into WM6, as the last paragraph here states. So I thought it was odd that a client with an Exchange 2003 server with one user with a custom WM6 Hermes 8525 and another user with a brand new 8925 Tilt both had All Day appointments changing to multiday appointments starting and ending at 1:00 AM. Then I tested creating a Holy Thursday and Good Friday All Day Calendar event using my Hermes and my Exchange server, same thing. Holy Thursday on the PDA changed to Wednesday and Good Friday changed to Thursday (not good!) Of course all my servers are up to date, as are the workstations. Installed the WM6 DST and corrected the appointments on my workstation, changed the time zone from EST to another timezone and back to EST per Billy Bob Gate's instructions and now all is fine.
Curious on other folks findings concerning this.
Thanks for explaining what is going on. I work nights so have repeating appointments from 10:30pm to 07:00 the next day. Don't sync with exchange just a pc but had appointments changing start and end times by one hour at random intervals. Also some full day events I had like holidays and Birthdays changed to multiple day events. Have just installed the Dst patch, and all appears ok now.
Update to DST issue
Determined my problems due to automatically getting time zone from Cingular (which I kind of suspected) If I turn that off and manually change it to something different than my EST, save, then change back to EST all is well.
If I don't, all my All Day events are one day earlier, freaking Cingular! I remember last year with my Wizard that it would show Indiana instead of Eastern and assummed that it was fixed as it has indicated Eastern for quite a while now.
Oh well, false alarm, kinda sorta
Thought I was going out of my mind when I saw my appointments for next week going crazy. I suspected it was the automatic timezone download from T-Mobile as well, so thanks for the confirmation! I did exactly what you did and all's well.

Interesting, it's not just Cingular and it's not just the East Coast.....
Also affects the West Coast, since a friend of mine is out in Seattle for a conference and he's got the same problem as well.
I've got a Daylight Savings Time problem that's putting me on a path towards alcoholism. Let me set the stage...
I'm running a Sprint Touch Pro 2 with MalRom 6.5.3. Desktop PC is Win XP, Outlook 2003 & ActiveSync 4.5. I keep the PC continually up-to-date with Microsoft Update. All latest updates have been applied. Timezone settings have been double-checked and are correct on both my PC and the TP2. On the TP2, I've installed the Daylight Savings Time fix from Microsoft.
Off a hard reset when I sync the TP2 with my PC via ActiveSync, all of my appointments on the TP2 during the 2010 DST period (March 14 thru November 7) are off 1 hour (i.e. an appointment that shows correctly starting at 2pm in Outlook on my PC shows a start time of 1pm on my TP2). Note that this ONLY happens during the DST period. My meeting on March 13, 2010 displays the correct times on the TP2. My daughter's piano recital the next day on March 14th does not. My appointment on October 31st displays one hour early. My next appointment on November 13th (after the time change) displays correctly.
This doesn't seem to be a widespread problem for folks like the 2016 text message bug. Searching for a solution here on xda-developers, only a handful of folks seem to be having the same problem and a chunk of those are having a problem with birthdays displaying on the wrong days, not appointments with incorrect start times. No one seems to have found a fix though.
SOMEBODY out there has had to have experienced this same problem and solved it. I've tried every update and reset suggested in the searches I've found, and to-date, nothing has worked. I'm at wits end and am running out of booze to make the problem go away!
Please help me.
