Hi people!
I've searched the whole board for an application that is able to auto disconnect my umts connection after let's say 2 minutes of inactivity.
I've found this program:
http://www.gb-soft.cz/XDAII/product_gprs_tweak_en.htm
This will change the cachetimer in the registry and seems to work.
But it does only disconnect when the phone is 'on' and inactive.
As soon as I turn my device 'off', the program doesn't disconnect the connection.
I've tried the Kaisertweak program with the 2 minute setting, doesn't work on my trinity.
I need this feature to check mail every 20 mins automatically and then disconnect the connection after checken. It improves the batterylife very much.
How do you guys do this?
Or are you all connected whole day and recharging alot?
Thanks for your suggestions!

Also with this tool, the disconnect timer doesn't work when the device is in my pocket and in the 'off' state. When I turn the device 'on', the connection disconnects after 2 minutes.
Is this just me with the disconnect problem?
Is it maybe this rom? (Bepe 0.79)

hello all,
How can i make it so, GPRS stays on all the time?
right now, it connects to GPRS when an internet connection is needed by an application, but diconnects when done.
Can I have it on all the time, even when the xdaIIs is idle?
Didn't have that issue with my previous xdaII.
Thx in advance for your help.
Glad.
um, I'm VERY new to this & really feel that I shouldn't be answering a post for at least another few months, but have you tried changing your preferred wireless data conection channel to "GPRS"?
For me after I do that it just stays on untilI shut it off.
Thanks for the reply,
where is that setting located? can't find it
connect to the gprs munually from the signal icon and it will stay on forever or until you lose signal. If you set the gprs to be your default connection and another app calls it, it will disconnect automatically when done. So your best bet, and this is what I do and I stay connected 7-10 hours at a time is to connect manually and it will stay on.
Hi, resently I'm having problems with the Internet connection. I used to have internet connection practicly all the time but know very often on the day I lose conection and have the soft reset to conect again...
Some of you, can sugest something?

wifi on wm6 seems to dis-connect when vario II goes into standby...
and looses watever net connection u on...
anyway of sorting this???
dude, does your computer use the internet (WiFi not Ethernet) if it's on standby? I believe it does that to save you some precious power. Be happy.

This is a default behaviour of windows mobile (even version 5 already did this) and the software that uses the wi-fi connection should take this into account.
(skype for example has an option to "avoid device suspend" when open)
I'd like to know if there's an easy way to keep the Wifi on in standby too, yes I know battery life will suffer, but that's my choice. I want the wifi on constantly for incoming VoIP calls to the mobile.
Is there anythingout there (appart from skype, i dont use skype for voip) that will keep the connection alive in standby?
Thanks
you may simply turn the screen off and this will keep the connection. not a good solution but it works, open wmp and assign a key for 'toggle screen', then you can turn the screen off easily
I had Garmin on my old Kaiser, and it never tried to connect to the internet, yet every time I start Garmin on my Tilt 2 it connects. I have set Garmin to "Never" connect, but it still continues to connect. Any suggestions? My primary concern is battery drain. If I manually disconnect from the internet after Garmin started, it doesn't reconnect. It's just a pain to have to disconnect every time I start Garmin. Garmin already drains the battery without the added drain of a data connection.
Is assisted GPS enabled in the stock Tilt 2 rom?
Perhaps if I use Advanced Config to disable aGPS, it might not connect every time I start Garmin.
try disabling traffic. and also anything else that sounds internet-y like google panoramio.
Fixed! I used Advanced Config 3.3 to disable aGPS
No longer automatically connects to data when Garmin starts.

Thanks alot volummus, I was looking through the internet looking to solve the same problem. Your post totally saved me .
Had my galaxy watch about a month now. I have set wifi to auto but I find it resets itself to off. I then set wifi to on and then it still turns off. Any ideas on what is going on? I may have to contact Samsung and I dread doing so.
WiFi shall only be used if the watch loses the connection to your phone. It is only used for the remote connection feature, where the Bluetooth connection between watch and phone is lost afaik

It is set to turn on when I lose BT connection. It can't turn on because the watch has turned wifi completely off
I have my WiFi set to automatic and that works just as expected. Connects to WiFi when Bluetooth connection drops.

I had that problem and I've only gotten my watch for a couple of days. I just turned on wifi to auto when the watch was connected to bluetooth and it just kept going that way for the time being.
Update: I've seen that the WiFi turns itaelf off again after some time. I'm pretty curious to know what causes that.
Have had my watch five days now and have experienced the problem of not being able to reconnect to Wi-Fi..
Define a Wi-Fi connection to be used 'Auto' (when out of reach of BT). But next time the watch is out of BT-reach it is stuck in 'Connecting ...' ( seen in the status of Wi-Fi).
Have reported this as an issue ( I'm in Denmark) and got the answer: Try to 'Reset' - otherwise wait for an update.
My software version is: R815FXXU1BRHB
Maybe it is a router problem. In German forums some dudes have problems with fritz Box router. It does connect only once to the router.
I also noticed that. Probably watch tries to save battery life. It turns on again when you start to do something. Personally I find out as good feature. No drawback.

It is not because there are three options Wi-Fi (off), Wi-Fi (on) and Wi-Fi (auto). The later should (re)connect to Wi-Fi when out of reach of BT (the first two are manual). But the reconnect is never completed, stays in "Connecting ...".
What do you mean by "It turns on again when you start to do something."? My watch does not for the above reason (connection is never completed).
Doing manual Wi-Fi connection to same Wi-Fi works fine. When out of reach of BT to mobile it is connected to 4G network.

I use option Always On. For the option watch turn off Wifi when it is not used at all. Watch turns Wifi on when I start to use watch. It is only my observation. I don't know is that indented behave for GW.

The watch will connect to the internet using BT to the mobile if within range.

The sync Wi-Fi profiles setting seems to cause the the watch forgets the Wi-Fi password. This shows up as with that "connecting..." state. Try to remove that sync option from the wear app on phone and see if that helps.
I would like to use the Wi-Fi (auto) setting, but for some reason the watch changes that back to Wi-Fi (off) by itself. No idea how to make the watch to remember the setting.

Wow! That did it but this shows there clearly is an error in the sync. option. Did someone report that to Samsung?
Thanks.

Just bought this watch today. I have the same problem
Disablem "syncing" in connection setting on phone app cures the pproblem
Same issue here.
Just bought the watch and set it on Always on wifi but noticed that it disconnects after some time and then refuses to connect to the same SSID. It either says, authentication error, cannot connect to ...., or doesn't say anything.
Restarting the watch fixes it temporarily.
Keeping it on Auto, does not change from bluetooth to wifi when out of range.
Sync profiles is on. I will try with it off.
Did anyone figure the solution to the issue?
I am facing the same issue
