Help My Camera Doesnt Work Anymore...

Think the camera on my 8525 was working fine lastly before i downgraded my Radio to 1.40...I have tried updating firmware n number of times still the camera wont work...Hardreset softreset nothing is bringing the camera back...tried 3rd partycam tools and it launches and disappears in a sec... searched the forum and looks like im the only one...
Anyone have any suggestions ? do you think i burnt my camera or something?I do have an option to get it sent back..but wanted to see if someones suggestion here helps fix it so others can learn from me...
It was on black 3.01 when it was last working and tried everyones roms after it didnt work..

Ok its fixed now... Dont know what fixed it... maybe the constant upgrade of roms or the ppcreset... or pulling the battery out and leaving it for 10 mins... But finally i dont have to send it in for a refurb... Thanks for anyone who looked and thought of a solution... If anyone else has this again they can try all the things i tried...
1) Upgrade/ Downgrade Radio multiple times.
2) upgrade SPL multiple times.
3) Try all the cooked roms
4) Revert back to ATT wm5 rom.
5) Reset device with Reset PPC
6) SuspendPPC (These i found in the black rom under system Folder)
7) Pull the battery out for 10 Mins.
Hopefully something in this combo works... cant point out which since i did too many things...

Disappearing Camera? Me Too.
My Camera Disappeared a few days ago, the hardware button on the spine does not bring it up and the application does not run, it just brings up the photo viewer. I even run the exe and get nothing. Also note, "Brighter Screen" does not work nor "Bigger Screen". For the record it's a Hermes100 and its running ROM Pro BLACK 3.0.1 and Radio 1.41.00.10.
I am looking all over, but I can't find anyone with the proper solution. May I should take my Cingular 8525 back and see what they say, they are probably going to say it was my fault when they see the new radio and Rom, but the problem happened with the original ROM.

Did you do everything i mentioned above?
try different combinations. I had the exact same rom and radio as you...
when i downgraded the radio it took the camera out for some reason.
If i were you i will try different things before the last option of sending it back for a refurb.

'Phone' button won't work after Blak Majik

I've installed WM6 Blak Majik and everything is great except for one thing..
When I press the 'phone' button (you know, the metal one to the left of the left soft key), nothing happens.
This means that if i want to make a call, the only way i can get to the dialer is to go through the start menu and select 'phone' which is very frustrating.
Has anyone else noticed this after installing Blak Majik and how can i fix it?
How can i re-map this button?
(I don't have 3G video calling).

they are hardware buttons... try a reflash... you are the only one that has seen this issue.... and in future post issues about that ROM here

Same issue for me but that goes for all hardware buttons, and yes I have flashed several times

its not an issue with the ROM guys.... try flashing a different ROM...

Have tried the all my friend, started off with Schaps and ended with Black Majik.
Due to anonther error I have flashed them several times. This error that I have got on all ROMS later or sooner is the white screen (i.e. the screen goes white but the phone still works). It is like an reversed screensaver.
To add to the strange list, my phone buttons are flashing more or less the whole time.
I am using Hard SPL v7 if someone is curios

sounds like you have a hardware issue and not a software issue... time to flash back to the original ROM and send it back...

Thats my plan!

Some people have this problem. Look at Schaps's thread.
This bug is random, so, it is not a hardware problem.
Sometimes, the buttons on the front face work, sometimes they don't. But the other buttons, around the Qtek, works always.

The round phone button (3G phone button) doesn't work with Black Majik, just use the green phone button to enter the phone software

It didn't work neither if being in the phone software. You had to press video on-screen button...

you do realize that black majik doesnot have a 3g dialer build it, you have to install the video dialer after flashing.
also the only hardware button on black majik that doesnt work is the 3G dialer button.(simple solution for getting to the phone software, press the green call button)
as for the other ROMs al the ones i have tryed have all hardware buttons working.
(also ive never had a ROM flash that i need to do twice coz something went wrong, i didnt think anything could go wrong, the cooks wouldnt release something that didnt work as drestically as having no hardware buttons!!)

so OBVIOUSLY if you know that black majic doesnt have a 3G dialer, you know that you need to go to the black majik site abd download the add-on for 3G dialer

Have you read the first 2 posts? firstly Black Majik is a NON Video Calling ROM (all of the black roms are i think), yes the hardware button is disabled, no i dont know how to remap it, i dont think you can i think it needs done before the ROM is compiled (not sure)
Also a quick fix to get to the "phone" function (which is what the button you are talking about is used for) press the green call button is launched the "phone" software!
no matter wat you do i dont think you will get the hardware button working, unless you are real good at cooking ROMs, since we are talkin i assume you wont be able to do this, as neither can i!!!
(sorry if i sound short, in wrk n not got lots of time to type this stuff!!)
However if someone does know how to remap this particular button please share!!!

Since the release of the official WM6 roms I have tried both the Dopod rom and VP3Gs AT&T rom and with both I have trouble getting the vibrate for incoming calls, SMS and emails to work.
On the Dopod rom it was intermittent, changed to VP3Gs rom and now it doesnt work at all. Never had this problem before.
Im using PhoneAlarm, have tried various different versions fom the official release to several of the most recent betas and still no vibrate. Dont think PhoneAlar is responsible.
Read all the other threads and no one else seems to have mentioned this so Im wondering if its just me.

Just tried on my Vodafone 1605 with Dopod ROM - working fine.

Not here
tried them all, never was an issue here

My Vodafone V1605 has lost vibration after upgrading to Dopod ROM. I'm also having problems with keyboard (sometimes, none of the front buttons work, but side ones work fine), and sometimes screen gets white, and comes back when you switch off and on.
I didn't know the cause, so I went back to an HTM WM5 rom, and to ATT or Black Satin, with no success.
any ideas?

Yea i did initially...i applied to com button/vibrate cab and it fixed it after a full reset (hold power button down to turn off the device)
i'm using vp3g's rom

Well, for no apparent reason its seems to have started working again during the day today. Still dont think its that reliable so I'll try the com button / vibrate fix cab if I can find it.

I switched to the official ROM, and vibrate was working initially, but just like you it has stopped working. I'm going to try the above method, but please post if you find the proper fix.

I had to add the vibrating cab to my 8525 with vp3g 3.0. Funny thing is, I'm sure his hybrid had vibrating included. I don't remember-- Senior moment!

yea it did...what i remember was that when i pressed and held the com button...the vibrate icon showed up but it did not vibrate like it use to and i tested it several times. The com/vibrate button cab can be found all over the place and i'm sure it's on the wiki here somewhere...or it could be a coincidence that the described method worked

Did happened to me couple of times with Rom updatings.......try to tap at the bottom of your pda between the IR and the USB port..it fix mine.

I lost my vibration alert too.., tried above trick. no luck.
I think I'll try the vibrate cab, should I?

I do have the similar problem with the vibrate after upgrading to wm6.
I have tried to re-install the ROM again but it still does not vibrate.
Any kind soul can advice?

I was having the same problem but i knew it wasn't any software. I think there's some problem with the vibrator as in the hardware. I sent it into the service center and they replaced it for me. it was a faulty vibrator. So its all good now. The VIBRATOR works now... lol.. that sounds soo wrong...

Button Tester?

hey guys,
my green answer call button doesnt seem to work. i'm wondering if its the rom or the phone. it still lights up but doesnt respond when i push the button.
any suggestions like a button tester program?

Are you having any problems with any other keys?
If its just the one you can break your phone down and check your connections and see if anythings loose or damaged. Make sure to go to the Wiki and check out the guide on how to properly take your phone apart.

Starting to wonder about malfunctioning buttons posts
I myself posted a thread on my malfunctioning power button . I am getting the feeling that certain apps and tweaks are causing some of these malfunctioning hardware buttons to happen. Not exactly a scientific point of view, but I think lots of this button malfunctioning (no matter which one), can eventually be resolved by HR or as mentioned in another post, Clear Storage. I myself, within a minute, pulled out my SDMicro card out for 15 seconds, took off Quickmark application (last app or cab put on my system), and my power button turns on/off as it should. I had to resort to SR's when I had my problem..........................
Latest: Found out that my main problem was NOT any of the above,, it all seemed to occur because of a buildup of Notification Queue's,, so check that out... I think that those queue's can be a source of a lot of problems

softreset doest fix it so i will have to resort to hard reseting.
lucky the vodaphone version has the 3G phone button and i can use that to get to the dial pad but it then assumes my calls are 3G which are annoying

has anyone got any suggestions then?

i had a similiar problem when installing a different dialer via cab.
i would suggest to either install a naked rom (like pandora naked) or one of the older roms (like schaps v3.x).
do not install any other cabs and see if the green button is working.

i flashed pandora naked rom and it still doesnt work.
any one have any other suggestions?
if not will i have to take the phone apart :S?

the Irda doesn't work at all, when i install a program to use my tytn as a remote for my tv, and i try to clone my remote i get an error saying "Irda port being used by another application"
and it wont communicate with over devices via Irda. other than that it works great...does anybody know a way to fix this problem?
p.s. tried other roms, Irda works fine, so it's not the phone.
please help this lost soul!!

sorry, posted in wrong area! rookie mistake! forget about it!

A general rule I follow is not to use too many .cabs as certain apps and tweaks can cause some of these malfunctionings to happen.
You cant be installing cabs for everything on your phone. Do you really have so much space in your phone?

seem like more of a hardware problem to me. you can still try checking for bad blocks, flashing another radio, but that all may be futile. look up the disassembly guides in the wiki. mikechannon also has some stuff on that, if u click on his sig

Hello people, I really need your help with this one..
I have the o2 XDA Trion, with their OEM firmware of WM6. Everything was working fine, but just recently when ever the screen goes into standby(Turns off which ever jargon you may use) then no notifications will happen; however if the phone is active.. with the light on then all notifications happen fine.
I have just flashed the firmware again last night using the softkey and soft reset.. then I installed VJToggle(For buttons on today screen), Rltoday, SL2U(Apple slide locking program).. it still does it! I removed each application and still no joy.
I am starting out with an absolute clean install this morning and hoping that my problems are resolved.. has anybody have any ideas?

The problem still exists... The only application I have installed/used is PIMBackup.
So I am going to restore the phone once again and NOT use PIMBackup to see if it makes any difference...
Hasn't anybody got any suggestions for me?
I really need them.

I don't know if anybody else has experienced this... maybe it is just my ROM.. I am using the O2 WM6..
If I use PIMBackup then it causes all the problems above.
Problem solved(Hopefully).

you can try other roms and see if they have the same problem.
Try one of the more popular ones
like schap's roms or K's roms
