Mod, please move my message to Hermes WIN Mob 6 forum
I upgraded to WM 6 with the repackaged version of the ROM WM6 Dopod WWE 3.54.707.3 yesterday and mighty pleased with it, however I have one problem and I do not know if it is ROM related or just some setting I've screwed up in the process of changing a lot of settings.
When I turn off the phone in Comm manager and turn it on later the phone will not find the network and keeps asking for the phone pin. Entering the PIN you can see it searching on the antenna icon at top of the Today screen but then it just pops up the Phone PIN screen repeatedly.
The only way to get the phone back on is a soft reset. Pretty annoying as I turn off the phone regularly each day
Also I do not have the old flight mode/wifi balloon now when tapping on the antenna/wifi icons in main sceen, I assume this has been dropped from WM5?
Any ideas guys?

Do a Hard Reset then test the ROM out for a few days. If you are not satisfied with it try one of the cooked WM6 versions (since they are superior).
Thanks
I will play with it as you suggest, also forgot to mention the keyboard no longer illuminates :-(
My radio too is an old version 1.03.03.10. Should I upgrade it first before flasing another ROM ( I have Hard Spl loaded OK)
After adding all my email settings for different accounts and loading apps I don't feel like a change of ROM for a few more days ;-)
Thanks,
Al
i think the problem is with your radio, try any radio at least 1.23 and above
I've been on WM6 since the second day I had my hermes, about 3-4 months ago. I've been on 4 or 5 different trips on planes requiring flight mode. Various LSVW and Sleuth ROMs used with various radios from 1.38 and on...
Not once, despite many layovers, have I had an issue with the phone not coming out of flight mode.
So, in my experiance, no, not a WM6 bug.

I have almost the same problem, but in my case it doesn't ask for PIN code. If I disable PIN request, everything is fine. Try to do the same and see if it's OK. This is the first ROM with this behaviour, but I can live with it in exchange of the amazing speed and phone respondivness !
I haven't seen this problem, but I do see a problem with opening a data connection after being in Flight Mode. It tries to connect to the provider 3-4 times (with quick connects), and then fails with an unable to connect message. At that point, I need to reset in order to connect to data again.
seems to be like the same problem that i am having!! i think its linked to the SOD bug, my herm100 continously reboots the 'radio' part of the phone.. when making a call the phone shows full signal however after placing the call the signal drops before connecting and it searches again for network... im sure that the phone is doing this whilst in standby mode too (maybe linking to the SOD problem) and since you've got you pin request on it seems to be cycling and asking for a pin code!! hope we can find a solution i've tried a few things but nothing seems to cure it!
Did anybody find a solution to this? My TyTn does the same
Hi, I have a dopod 838pro and recently upgrade to Schap's 3.57a WM6 Rom. It was working fine for the past 2 months, until today where it blackout completely. I soft reset the phone and after the startup screen, it just stop at the windows mobile screen without booting into the system. None of the keys work and i have to take out the battery just to turn the phone off.
Tried a hard reset and the result is still the same. I can't sync with activesync nor do much from the phone.
Anyone out there who has experience something like this and maybe a workaround of it.
Highly appreciate if someone can help. Thanks!!!
After a few hard reset and some luck i manage to get it working again. thanks
Hello together
Please help me. I can't boot my Hermes anymore. I had done nothing serious. I paired my hermes with my hands-free-car kit over bloutooth, played some musik over this connection and made a sof reset. After this the hermes boots till the green windows mobile screen and stays there for ever. Some additional soft resets and "putting out the battery" doens't help. What can I do instead of an hardware reset?
Has someone a suggestion?
Please!
Greetings Pudl
Hello all,
I have this problem since a few days.
Whenever I use TomTom GPS. Whenever the phone goes to sleep (either press the standby button on the right side or if phone idle for threshold time) then I cannot wake up the phone by pressing the standby button again.
The only thing I can do is softreset with stylus.
After Doft reset I only need to unlock the phone like usualy after each soft reset but strange thing is that my pin code is automatically remembered...
Note : Whenever I do a soft reset I stop the BlackBerrySecurity Service using Memmaid so I don't need to enter the password after each wake up of device...
Also, I see blinking leds and if i try to call my phone number from office number, I here the ring tone but on the artemis side no reaction..
THis happens only if I have used TomTom at least once since last softreset.
My COnfiguration :
Artemis
Meschlee's ROM 3.01 Vanila
BlackBerry Client (BBCONNECT)
SPB Mobile Shell 2.1
SPB Phone Suite
TOmTom Navigator 6 (installed on Storage Card)
Please help?
Anyone similar situation?
Thanks
Anyone?

Hi
This could be down to a corrupted ROM. I have checked through the settings and cannot find one that affects the way the power button acts.
I would suggest that you re-flash the phone with the Same ROM or one of the New ones (toms oops black is currently the best)
Cheers Dave
ok now
Yeah but unfortunately I'm stuck on Meschle 3.01 'cause it's the only one that is compatible with Artemis and BlackBerr Connect (Client for Blackberry corporate service).
I finally flashed it over again and now I don't have anymore problems
Seems like All windows are the same sometimes you just need to reboot
Thanks for the reply anyhow.
No Problems
Hey guys,
Long time member, but first time poster . I got some good news for you iMate users out there. I was able to get the new WM 6.1 ROMs for both the iMate Ultimate 8502 and 9502, though I was told these were still considered beta ROMs. They are for the Australian market I assume as the Telstra logo displays on the boot up.
I've been using it on my 9502 for the past day or two and it seems to have fixed the following issues:
SDHC is supported now
MS Voice Command is working
GPS does not have to be turned on manually anymore
Camera program memory leak seems to be fixed. I will have to do more testing.
Ongoing issues:
Free Program Memory is still 33 MB after a hard reset
The ROM also seems to fix alot of software compatibility issue I was having. Like some of my SPB software that I normally use is now working without any freezes or heavy slowdown. It also seems to run a bit faster, especially when you slide out the keyboard. Anyways, give it a try. Hope this helps.

iMate 9502 : http://rapidshare.com/files/129807567/Ultimate_9502_V.01.73_NO_CP.rar.html
Great! Thank you!
Nice.
I went to run the update but it requires a "ROM unlock code"
Anyone know what that is?
Thanks
Dave
Re: ROM unlock code
You may find the code printed on the box you have bought the device in or on www.imate.com after you have registered your imate.

Has anyone run this beta as yet ? Keen to see what the opinions are. If WM6.1 doesn't make the device any more stable then ebay here we come which is a real pity I must say.
Just installed and it works better but yet to install my other software. GPS is missing from the wireless manager but I assume that is because GPS is now always active.
Now there is about 50mb free after hard reset. Might be some more once I get rid of the other start up shortcuts.
BTW I have an 8502 and thanks to the OP. Looks like we may be into a winner here, finally............

Got it up to 6.1 and it is true the GPS is good to go without a turn-on.
However, with this rom I am NOT able to launch iGo 06 or iGo8. Anyone else have this issue and/or a solution? Note: It was working on the old rom.
Thanks

Please help me....
I have i-mate 8502
I did the upgrade BUT before it I lounched Sprite Backup to save all phone data and settings.
After ugrading to WM 6.1 I lounched Sprite Backup again and... now I have only i-mate blue screen (i-mate sign on it) and phone doesn't go any further....
I would flash it again but my pc doesn't see it now at all.
Maybe you know some way to bring my i-mate back to life?
Please help.... Did i brake it?
Not sure why Sprite would cause that for you. I installed Sprite backup NP. I even, backed up, hard reset and restored with Sprite and not even an error.
Still can't get iGo to work though. I doubt anyone here has an 8502 WM6.0 ROM ??? At this point I would rather go back if I can't use iGo :-(

Taking battery out for 3 hours didn't work...
What else can I do?
Help please...
BIG Problem
Hi,
I've run the upgrade program and it worked fine until the first reset... Now I see the message "Please reconnect to PC and run the upgrade again"... I did this 10 times and nothing... I keep getting the "Connect fail" message from the setup file... The problem is that Active Sync dosen't see anymore the phone connected and I don't think it can anymore... that message seem to be from the bootstrap program or something like that...
Please help...

After Flashed with the new ROM, My Device is now stuck in iMate Blue Screen Logo....!!!
But Don't worry Guys...it can be solved with manually hard Reset...
1. Remove battery and reinsert (to make sure the phone is off).
2. Hold down Fn and the Green button (with the phone icon on it) and press the power button.
3. You will see the white hard reset option screen almost immediately. Press the Left Soft Key to hard reset.
Work for me...
Can someone post another link? The original is not working at the moment. Thanks in advance
martin_yo you're my hero.... if you live in poland, i would send you biiiiiig vodka thanx a lot!!! IT'S ALIVE !!!!!!!
imate 8502
OK, I got an XP machine and did the upgrade, went smoothly in about 15 minutes.
Overall I would say it is a worthwhile improvement.
Changes/improvements:-
* PIE scrolling fixed - much smoother, now with zoom
* PIE doesn't freeze any more
* Auto GPS enabling is nice
* Camera seems to start faster
* Threaded SMS is really good (and MMS is integrated now into one account)
* Seems to now stop notifying "SMS Sent"
* Overall perf seems better
* Wireless manager is simpler (I hated the old "solar system" UI)
* Phone settings includes Network Time setting and "battery saver" HSPA setting
* Can change default phone number (w, h, m) from the phone contacts app
Things not fixed:
* Voice call volume appears to be the same
* Select and hold with center button on email attachments still tries to open them (instead of offering to save like every other PPC I have used)
Not tested:
* SDHC support - I don't have a card
Best of all is that it appears to not have introduced any new bugs (fingers crossed).
I am sure I have spoken too soon ...
One thing I did notice was SPB Backup 2.0 stops the phone from rebooting successfully (just stays on Windows Mobile screen forever) if you have scheduled backups on. Seems as if it doesn't like something in the notification queue - so just backup manually. Not sure if scheduled backups on SPB Backup 2.0 worked properly in 6.0?

I have the same issue with the "Please reconnect to PC and run the upgrade again" message. Unfortunately, the reset doesn't help. As soon as you press the power button that message comes up. I think if we got that message, we've bricked it

You may be right but in the spirit of trying everything you:-
1) PRESS AND HOLD "Fn and Green" buttons
2) WHILE KEEPING THEM PRESSED press and release the reset hole with stylus
3) CONTINUE HOLDING the Fn and Green buttons until the white reset options screen appears
Fingers crossed for you - if this doesn't work then you are right, time to send it back.
