Artemis Touch 3.01 WM6 WWE ROM hard reset - P3300, MDA Compact III ROM Development

I am having problems doing a hard reset with this ROM on an O2 UK Orbit. I have tried holding in the two sofware uttons whilst restting the device and nothing. There is no 'Clear Storage' icon either.
Short of a re-flash is there any way this can be done?

Try:
1. Pressing the voice record/command button on the top left side
AND
2. 'Poke' the reset hole at the lower left side firmly till you hear/feel a soft click.
THEN HOLDING THE VOICE COMMAND KEY DOWN
3. Release the stylet... you can release the Voice key once you see the HTC logo
Hope it works.

have you tried holding the 2 soft keys down, then push the soft reset button, whilsts tsill holding down 2 soft key buttons? it should then show you whether you want to hard reset or not?

Clearstorage is still there - goto \windows\clearstorage.exe with file explorer

Hard reset

Hi all,
My pda freezes after boot, on tom's b&b 4.0 splashscreen.
It worked perfectly before, so I want to make a hard reset but I don't know how
Thank you
Regards
Please consider the manual. If not, then here on the forum the best place to start for common questions is the WIKI. Go HERE for most of your answers on the Artemis. Please avoid starting new threads for relatively common, probably-already-asked questions. That's what the WIKI is for.
Regards,
Release the soft reset button and keep pressing the soft keys.

That's ok sorry for double replies I found my answer ^^
Thank you
The 2 softkeys are the buttons that operate the calendar and contacts menus. Hold both down together and soft reset with stylus in hole - press green call button when text appears.

Artemis doesn't boot after langauge support uninstalling (details inside)

Hi, I'd really appreciate any help.
I recently bought the P3300 and installed Hebrew language support. After uninstalling it the phone restarted itself, and since then it gets stuck on the "windows mobile" logo screen. I tried installing any possible ROM I could find via the bootloader screen, but with no success. With each ROM I've tried a different error message came up. I also tried to use the USPL.exe but it couldn't detect the phone.
IPL 3.07.0001
SPL 3.07.0000
GSM 02 69 90
OS 3.7.00
WM6
Thanks in advance.
Let find the Original rom and flash again. good luck
Do a hard reset!
Press and hold both soft-key buttons, stick the stylus in the reset hole, release reset and wait for bootup to begin before releasing the soft-key buttons.
As I recall you get a confirmation screen.

do you need to Hard Reset after every ROM upgrade???? coz after you upgrade every thing gets erased

That's a good one! I always wonder whether the members of HTC development team are aliens..
Second that! I never (not yet?) succeeded to make a hard reset. You guess that till now I haven't made a hard reset after flashing a ROM, just backup with Sprite. Conclude that it is not necessary.
HTH.
the answer is yes or no

Are you sure or just think so?
With the Kaiser you needed to do an extra hartreset after a flash, but with most other you don't need to do that.
Because flashing a ROM normally flashes everything (except for your internal storage) so no need to do an extra hard reset.
I don't know what's the case with the Diamond...
i just want to know do u need to flush after every upgrade or no
i just want to know do u need to flush after every upgrade or no????
Remember that after you flash a rom, system performs a SOFT Reset and NOT a Hard Reset. So always its better to do a hard reset after every flash, to fully clear the memory from those hidden or system files from the previous installation.

HARD RESET RHODIUM, Touch Pro 2

FYI. Here is how to Hard Reset our new toys .
To perform a hard reset
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons until you see this message on the screen.
"This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel."
2. Release the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons.
3. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
You'll need it ))
Just asking but isnt going threw the settings and memory clear then it will tell you to put in "1234" to confirm it the same? Thats what i did and it restored it to all factory settings or does this way do more?
yeah, you can hard reset that way... but someday you'll need to hard reset the hardware way.... ie: after flash cooked rom, when the "touch here bla...bla..." message appear, you'll want to hard reset straight away... much faster than setup, and then hard reset later...
@doublecheese: nice info... thanks..
While I was trying new programs to my TP2 , the phone just hang, even after soft reset, it was just hanging on the opening screen so the phone never could start, so I had no chance but to Hard Reset the phone.
So you'll need it
Oh ok gotcha, thanks for the tip
do you mean press and hold the "pick up" and the "hang up" and the power button?? beacause its not clear for me?

Hard Reset will put the phone back to how you got it (or if you've flashed a ROM, to how it was just after you flashed a ROM).
So, Yes

in soft reset the phone will only turn off and on..
just like if u restart ur computer..
u wont loose anything.
Is there any reason why resetting wont work? I tried it several times. With the send/end/power combo and also with vol+/vol-/power combo. Neither of these combinations worked. It's non branded TP2 and only 2 weeks old.

Here :
http://www.htc.com/uk/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=250&act=sd&cat=all
But since HSPL is out thanks to Olinex, you can upload many new custom cookes roms which are available for the Rhodium.
Am I doing something wrong? I never get the confirmation for a hard reset. I have held the green, red and reset button at the top through a whole power cycle and no dice. I also tried just the green and red buttons, what is going on?

I think a Verizon TP2 has a different key combination.
Try this:
- Power off the phone using the 'end' key.
- Hold 'volume down' and 'send', the press 'end' till you see blue text. Follow hard reset prompts.
Thanks, I will keep that in mind for next time fore I have already used the clear programs avenue.
Awesome! Thanks for the info.

1. While the HTC Touch Pro 2 is off, press and hold Talk/Send, End and Power until you see a message on the screen about deleting all data.
2. Release the buttons after the message appears.
3. Press the Volume Up button.
soft reset your phone, then turn it off and try hard reseting again
Remove the battery first to power it off (if that wasn't clear), then replace the battery and hold in send/end while pressing the power button.
