Hi i'm trying to flash my trinity to the lastest rom by Mary (3.3.3). Unfortunately the only pc I have access to at the moment runs windows 2000. Is there a patch for the sspl?
I get to the coloured boot screen but then the rom update utility throws an error about communication error
Try again,once you get the 3 stripe screen and the error,it should work.

I have a imate pda 2k runnign wm5 the original rom. The boot rom is V2.06
I place the phone in boot mode, it comes up in serial and when I put it in the cradel the display chages from serial to usb and the pc makes the usb connect sound (I have activesync running at this point, have tried two different machines one with 4.1 and one with 4.2 beta) I run the updater and it just sits there with the "collecting information" legend at the top of the window. Eventually it goes to error 101 cannot connect.
Any ideas? I want to go to the new Tuma 1.3 because I am tired of loosing email accounts.

try to use noid.exe to flush your rom
Duh had to remove my sd card
Read though a bunch of posts, the net was take your SD card out while tying to boot. It worked! Thanks anyway
Hi, i tried to upgrade firmware on my hp 4700 to WM5. the ipaq rom update 2.02.14 started and after selecting the rom update file the 4700 reset and shortly after came back with ERROR 503: Active Sync Error. I have hard re-set a couple of times but the only thing that appears on the 4700 screen now is HP invent logo in centre with v1.01 at bottom. Undocked it displays "Serial" at top of screen and docked it shows "USB" Have i turned it into a paper weight or is this recoverable. Upgrade was tried on Vista with windows mobile 6 - but have also tried on xp with active sync 4.5
i have tried loading earlier versions on firmware but it doesn't get past the activesync error.
Any help greatly apprciated.

I loaded a SONE WinMob 6.5 RC2 WWE onto my touch diamond and now cannot load any other ROM.
Symptoms:
Host machine Win XP SP3
Download and extract "Duttys 5.2.20764.1.4.3_V4_Full_CVSD [3.02]"
Establish activesync partnership (green icon in system tray)
(ensure all advanced networking functionality is turned off via Settings->USB Connections)
Run: CustomRUU.exe
Output on XP
- verifying info on PDA Phone
- Current Image Version SONE

To:
Image Version: Duttys Diam v4

try to flash from internal memory...
i doubt its gunna be your cable if your the ruu can read from your device i have 3 suggestions you could try!!
1) use mitty to format ur device b4 you try to flash a new rom ( if you still cant flash after u will be left with no os on ur device tho )
2) try flashing a stock rom see if that works
3) try flashing using the internal storage method

It turned out to be a little more incidious than a cable problem.
The machine I tried from first was a completely fresh XP PRO SP3 build and the latest download of ActiveSync (all built in the last 48 hours).
The build that worked is months old. The binaries I have on the old and new builds both say Active Sync v4.5 but the one I downloaded a few months back to the other build was different from the one I downloaded most recently to the build that won't update.
Resolution: Flash from internal storage worked great! thanks
Also
Use the older binary for ActiveSync 4.5 which installs drivers (not signed) when the Diamond goes into multi color screen then continues rather than failing.

I recently tried to upgrade the version of windows on my ipaq hx2410.
However, I used the wrong upgrade and now my ipaq won't start. if the AC charger is plugged in i can get the white screen. i can also get the formatting ps screen and the USB screen.
My ipaq has the pre-BL: 1.00.04 screen and in the left bottom corner says USB, but my computer won't install anything on it and I can't connect to it.
Is there anything I can do?

I have a Pocket Loox as described in title and want to update the rom.
But everytime I try to update with official update-tool, I get the same
error:
The assistant leads me to the point of flashing the BL. The device gets
darf for <1sec and shows the BL-screen with the dolphins (this screen stays
there, until I do a cold reboot). In that moment, when the screen appears,
I hear the disconnect-, then the connect-Sound in Win7. There are no errors
from the host OS but it seems, that the Loox is hanging!? The Update stops
with the message to do a cold reboot. There's no matter, if I try the WM6-ROM
from this forum, or any other official ROM from Fujitsu Siemens.
I've deleted all programs and personal data from the device, because first the
update-tool told me that there isn't enough memory on the Loox...
The device us switched on, the wm5 is booted completely and I'm on the
Today-Screen when I try the Update.
Should I get to a computer with Windows XP on it? Will the update on Windows 7
not work at all? The device has a german ROM on it, so I have to edit the new
ROM-file from ENG to GER, but even when I try another german ROM it doesn't
work...
