Hi, i tried to upgrade firmware on my hp 4700 to WM5. the ipaq rom update 2.02.14 started and after selecting the rom update file the 4700 reset and shortly after came back with ERROR 503: Active Sync Error. I have hard re-set a couple of times but the only thing that appears on the 4700 screen now is HP invent logo in centre with v1.01 at bottom. Undocked it displays "Serial" at top of screen and docked it shows "USB" Have i turned it into a paper weight or is this recoverable. Upgrade was tried on Vista with windows mobile 6 - but have also tried on xp with active sync 4.5
i have tried loading earlier versions on firmware but it doesn't get past the activesync error.
Any help greatly apprciated.

I have successfully installed Hard SPL into my HTC TyTN (Qtek 1.18.255 ROM) but I cannot get the ROM upgrade utility to work. I have tried using both the latest Qtek 2.11.255 ROM as modified for Hard SPL and using the upgrade utility as shipped (which I know would replace Hard SPL).
In either case the process stops at the point where I get the progress bar, I get through the verifying the information on your phone screens and confirming the ROM image but it never gets past the "Updating the ROM image on your PDA Phone" box.
The progress bar remains at 0% and eventually I get the message:
ERROR [260] : CONNECTION
The Update Utility cannot connect to your PDA Phone. Please check that your USB cradle/ cable is connected...
Needless to say the cable is connected but I notice that Activesync has disappeared at this point. There is nothing to do but exit the upgrgade. When I do, Activesnc reappears
Has anyone else come across this issue?

Hi I'm a new user and just got my hx4700 2nd hand and need some help flashing the hx4700 to wm6.1 Its wm5 right now. First I tried the normal way of flashing but when I couldn't get the ipaq to sync with the comp. I installed activesync but when I connected the cradle and ipaq nothing happens, only a new hardware found asking for software to install "Hp rndis sync". I tried installing automatically with the cd in the drive but it couldn't find any software and i couldn't get the ipaq to connect to the desktop.
So I tried using the SD card to flash the ipaq instead. I tried using both the SD_IMG program and All Image to copy the rom onto the SD card but when I go into bootloader mode all it showed was the HP logo, the version at the bottom, and the text Serial at the top. Nothing else happened.
Someone help please. I'd really wanted to get it to wm6.1 asap. Thanks in advance.
Ah solved the problem. I was using the cd that came with the ipaq. Tried the wm5 upgrade CD and it updated activesync to 4.1 and now activesync works fine. Am flashing to wm6.1 as I'm typing this Can't wait.
Btw should I be seeing anything while the files upload to the ipaq?
Ok now I'm faced with another problem. The moment the files are supposed to upload to the ipaq, and the small little window that comes out and say files should start uploading or something like that, the window behind which is supposed to have some text, hangs with only a letter 'P' and turns "not responding" I tried a soft reset and nothing was flashed yet.
I tried the GUI version of the bootloader and it seems its stucked at 0% complete forever. Doesn't hang like the non GUI version, but still doesn't start flashing either.
I have an FSC Loox N560 PDA which I wanted to upgrade to WM 6.1 (newplow) from Pups 0.0.3 so I first hard-reset it to avoid any programs running and then stared flashing. The PDA asked me to run an unsigned dll, but then the updater disconnected and gave an error message multiple times, even after warm or cold boot, so I decided to hard-reset again. However, the PDA did not hard reset, it is now stuck at the today screen (even the suspend button is not working) with a few today modules loaded, and the BT tray icon (the Wifi one not). The PC says "unrecognised hardware" so ActiveSync can't connect, and the Updater or MTTY can't connect, either. Please help...
Issue seems to be solved by hard-reseting several more times. Hope this helps those who get the same prob in the future.
However, it still can't connect to the PC (ActiveSync stuck at Connecting...)

However, I used the wrong upgrade and now my ipaq won't start. if the AC charger is plugged in i can get the white screen. i can also get the formatting ps screen and the USB screen.
My ipaq has the pre-BL: 1.00.04 screen and in the left bottom corner says USB, but my computer won't install anything on it and I can't connect to it.
Is there anything I can do?

HHOLA AMIGO ESPERO ME HELP YOU CAN TRY A FEW DAYS AGO TO UPDATE MY SYSTEM IS A WM2003 WM 6.5 and everything was perfect But when the BAR END LOAD AND LONGER STAYS LEI NOTHING HAPPENS OTHERWISE YOUR MESSAGE TO BE FIRST UPDATE 2003 A 5 and then to 6.5 I have searched WM2003 ROM SPA BUT NOT IN THE ACHIEVEMENT OF YOU'LL FIND YOU AND ME IF YOU WERE SO GENTLE THE COULD HAPPEN TO BE ABLE TO MAKE MUST BE UPDATED AS

i have " HP IPAQ hx2410 " with WM2003 CE 1.10.0 and i upgraded with this window 5.2 it upgraded successfully but i m stuck on the first loading screen. its stuck when loading complete i have tried every thing such as boot-loader thing and also cant downgrade it . . . so kindly plzzz any one tell me how can i go to my initial state on wm2003 ASAP. plzzzzz heeeeellllpppppppp same position as above bro says
Ok this is what i have done and what has happened.
I've had the n520 for a year now with WM 5, have been reading this and other forums RE upgrading to WM 6 etc. I took the plunge using "greymans" ROM from here xda forums, sorry I am unable to post the link
COLOR="blue"]WM 6.1 CE 5.2.19974 (Build 19974.1.2.8) Eng[/COLOR] The ROM worked fine , I re-installed all my old programs "great" no problems.
Included in the ROM is a program from "NEWPLOW" called tuneup, I was experimenting with the settings when I selected under the GPS tag SIRF 2, the loox requested a reboot which i did.
The loox N520 now rebbots only to the splash creen and no further, ie. the mountain walkers. with a small black line 3 mm wide about 2 cm up from the bottom left hand corner.
I have tried a hard reset and i get to the dolphins with the numbers
1.20.G4
1.20 Displayed.
Have tried connecting to the pc but active synch fails to recognise the device.
Finnaly my question, IS IT BRICKED? Or can it be salvaged.
Any advice gratfully recieved.
