Strange problem... help... - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Software Upgrading

My qtek 9000 (with aku 3.3 helmi rom) has a very strange problem, sometimes backlight, and then display, switch off , the green led lamps but the universal is completely freezed, i can't do anything either with a SR, qtek running a boot but at some point backlight and then display switch off again...
Only after some SR or after some battery removing i resolve the problem but Temporarily.
I've a 1gb SD (normal, non sdhc) and a Cameron Sino (made in HK) battery.
Could be a battery problem?
Could be a rom problem?
Could be a SD problem (corrupted or non sdhc with this rom)?
Could be an hardware problem?
Thank you in advance

Hi! I have has a similar problem. My UNI behaved like somebody pressed the Power button once 2 .. 5 seconds! I thought it was a HW failure! (I was on the jet flight that time). Like the power button was sealed in pressed condition. This strange behavior almost went on a full battery charge, and returned after some discharge.
Don't remember which ROM I was running that time
This behavior completely gone after I have got an extended 3200 mAh battery.
I think it was a dying battery, which gave such effect, like the battery become swollen under the decompression conditions or something

QTek 9090 turns itself on and off

My Qtek 9090 started turning itself on and off for no reason. All this happens every 40-50 seconds or so. I have done 2 hard resets (no third party programs are in phone) but it continues to have the same problem.
I have also noticed that battery power icon permanently displays a fully discharged battery even though I have left it on charge for up to 4 hours. All this happened from one day to another. Prior to that I never had this problem.
I've Had the Qtek 9090 for over 6 months with the same battery.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Are u using the supplied charger ?
Hi pabellon, (i wonder if it is Criollo)
Its been addressed that custom made chargers (specially car charges) present this problem. there is a post in the BA forum somewhere that speaks about it. The problem seems to be amperage needed for the beast to charge.
However if u are facing this problem with the craddle then a wornout or damaged battery maybe the problem...

PLEASEEEEEEE HELP T-MOBILE MDA III (QTEK 9090)

Hi Guys,
I put my T-Mobile MDA III (same as qtek 9090) on a cradle and after 10 minutes the screen turned off and the red light appeared on a top right corner. Now the device couldn't be turned on again. It looks like a completely dead device. Could you please help me what to do?
Is that a software failure or some other problem?
Please please please give me a hint. Is there any schematics that will help me in repairing the device? What is a cause for that failure?
Thanks in advance,
...MpegTv....
try to hard reset by pressing power and soft reset button
I've tried with hard reset and also with placing the device into bootloader menu with camera+record+power+reset and still nothing happened.
It is completely dead !!!
we have had this problem a few times with our blue angels at work, bad connection with the cradle seems to suck your batterie dead, we swapped batteries and pda works again everytime, This is the problem we get monthly that leads to dead looking pda's, exept that a batterie swap allways works,
ps
the batterie we swap with works too its just been drained.
Hi guys,
I discovered the cause. Something's wrong with my battery. After few minutes on a cradle the device turned ON and then reported BackUp battery VERY LOW, please recharge or replace.
What is a backup battery? Is that a main battery foor some other battery inside of device? How can I replace that backup battery.
When the device is on a cradle the backup battery is on 25% and the main battery is 0%.
What do i have to do beside charging?

Blue Angel Not Powering Up

Hi,
I just changed the screen, that is identical as the original one, for my blue angel, that was down for a couple of months without charging. Now when I try to charge the device it is showing me a red light on the charging led and not orange as it used to and as a result it is not powering up.
Do you have any idea what might be wrong?
Regards,
Michal
Battery is gone.. replace it.
Hello again!
I have a question regarding powering as well...
Can I power the battery without a running system?
anyone knows?
cheers,
krztf
well youcan charge the battery only in cradle's battery holder
elaborate pls
hi xplode!
i am not sure if i have understood you correctly, maybe may question wasn't that clear as well.... sorry! so just to be sure...
i wanted to know, if it is possible to charge the battery of the BA without having a running system (rom, wm) on the ba!
is this really only possible in the cradle? not with a normal synccable or charger?
edited to ask: is it possible to do THIS with the cradle? or cable? or both? is there really a diference between them?
forgive my ignorance!
krztf
It is possible to charge a battery without a running OS on your BA if you remove the battery from the body of the device and slip it correctly into the rear charging slot of the cradle (also means you can have a spare 2nd battery charged up.) If you don't have a cradle, then you're SOL, eh?
Whether your device can charge it's battery without a running OS you should try it yourself and let us know!
Still with the problem...
Hi, an update on my initial problem.
I received a replacement battery but the problem still persists.
i.e. When I place the device in the cradle it still lights up red LED.
Actually the battery is V20HR instead of V18HRT however this should not be a problem as it has identical specs except it has higher capacity.
Any ideas\suggestions what else could be wrong?
Battery Specs are as follows:
V20HR - http://www.varta-microbattery.com/en/mb_data/documents/data_sheets/DS55902.PDF
V18HRT - http://www.varta-microbattery.com/en/mb_data/documents/data_sheets/DS55802.PDF
Hi
I just had the same thing happen - not so fast with the changing the battery thing - It could be that the onboard battery is flat - leavve it in the cradle with the battery on for a long time and see what happens Thats what I did and eventually it worked - I know it makes no sense but it worked
Regards
John P
Hi,
Thanks for the reply however the problem is that I replace the on-board battery, pre charged.
I have not changed the main battery because it charges properly in the cradle.
Regards,
Michal.
Try putting the PDA with the battery on in the cradle and leave it a while - if it doesnt fix it take it out and put it back in a few times - worked for me and device is normal again
Kind regards

Dead P3300 due to battery?

Hi all,
My two year old HTC P3300 has gone dead and I suspect it could be the battery. How could I know for sure? When it was new I upgraded to WM6 and apllied the corrupt SD patch because it was crashing sometimes when I would access the SD.
After that it has been working flawlessly for over a year except for battery life which has been getting shorter and shorter for the past few months. I turned off bluetooth and wifi and still the P3300 was only able to go for about 24H with normal usage (just four or five calls, a few reminders and no GPS).
All of a sudden a couple of weeks ago it started just turning off by itself when using simple things like card games. I could feel the battery was pretty warm and pressing the power button would do nothing. Only a soft reset would work.
Then a few days ago it finally decided to die. I was playing Freecell with the battery at about 80% and it turned off by itself but now even soft reset won't work. When I plug in the charger the orange light wont turn on althoug the battery does get a little warm.
The only thing it will let me do is start a hard reset but nothing much happens. It says to press send if I want to return the P3300 to the original factory settings. I accept and for about one seccond it shows:
Format FAT partition!
Format complete!
Then I get the HTC boot screen and some red letters that say:
IPL 1.36.0001
SPL 1.36.0000
and then nothing else happens. It just stays like that for a couple of minutes until it turns off by itself. After that I can't even do a hard reset unless I put the phone on the charger for a couple of hours.
To me this looks like it could be an exhausted battery but how can I confirm this without buying a new battery? I checked with a tester and I get 3.07V DC but I can't seem to get any amp reading (maybe I'm doing it wrong).
Please any ideas would be welcome. I love my P3300 and I hate the idea of having to change.

Hi!
I'm experiencing the same problems...
Tried new rom, sdhc update cab, format sd to fat32, try another sd, etc...
Seems that the phone works more or less well if there's no sd card (maybe because it need more juice from the battery?), and even better, if I can say that for a phone..., without sim card too.
It worked more or less today only with sim card on it, but when there was an sd card it keeps blocking, hanging and turning off with difficult turn on situation.
Can someone help us?
Thanks!
Hello both.
It can be frustrating waiting for help (and you might have found an alternative solution) but I'll say what I can.
If your Artemis can be operated more normally whilst charging but fails quickly under battery power, that certainly suggests a battery problem.
Batteries are consumables but hard to test (although some shops can) - try your local retailer?
My spare battery is a Sanyo ARTE160 rated 3.7V 1,200mAh.
On the reverse, 4.2VDC is printed amongst chinese characters and it actually measures 4.16V off load. I'd think 3V far too low.
There's clever technology behind the management of these LiOn batteries because both over charge and over discharge can damage them. Their life is more determined by battery chemistry and charge/discharge cycles than age.
One caution - measure voltage by all means...
BUT
DO NOT measure current with a test meter to a battery - particularly not a LiOn battery - because it amounts to a short circuit. Current can be so high as to blow the meter fuse and in cases of sustained short circuit or over charging, the battery can swell or even burst dangerously.
I'd think a replacement battery (via e-bay?) far less expensive than paying repairers to confirm the battery was the only problem.
Hope this helps
Hi!
I bought a replacement battery from Ebay.
All seems to be OK yesterday at night until today by noon.
Today, in the middle of a phone call, the phone stalls.
After a reboot and some hours later, the phone keeps crashing and crashing and, sometimes, it doesn´t turn on...
Will try now to upload an original rom and see what it does.
Regards!
This might have happened because difficulties whilst using an impaired battery left a legacy of part-saved data, registry and file corruption problems.
The outcome would be good to know because battery problems can/will affect us all eventually.
Also, a brand new battery can need a few charge/discharge cycles to bring it up to best condition.
I also got a new batery from ebay and unfortunately it still doesn't work. Behaviour is exactly the same as before.
I suppose this means it is hardware related. Do you suggest opening it up to see if there is anything loose or broken that could be resoldered?
Thanks,
My p3300 went blank and I had the take the battery out to switch it on again. Took it to HTC and they had to replace the insides of the phone. When I got is back the batt. Only lasted for a day and it use to work for 4 days.

my BA always goes off when turning on wifi

Hi,
anyone knows how this could happened?
When I turn on my wifi on BA, not long after that, my BA will be turned off automatically with the screen goes blank suddenly.
And when I tried to do softreset to my BA, it will goes blank and hang again until I plug this BA into charger/computer?
Is this a hardware problems or just conflict in software?
I just recently got this problem, back then I never got this when using wifi on my BA.
Please help me.
Thanks
PS: I'm using WM 6.1 Rom from Xplode.
Sounds like you need a new battery, cos the batt hasnt enough power in it when the wifi is turned on.
it seems so..lately my BA (without using any wifi) lifetime is so short.
but actually when I'm trying to turn on wifi, my battery indicator still in 90%.
I hope this is caused because of my battery leaked and not any hardware problems.
but still, anyone experienced this and change your battery to new one and the wifi problem is gone?
I have 2 batts for mine and even tho the 1 is fully charged it causes the BA to turn off after a few secs of being on, But the BA with the other batt works fine. So I think after you have bought a new batt, I dont think you will have probs.
ok then, I will try to find new baterries for mine.
Thanks
ebay, theres loads
Got a few spare batteries including a brand new OEM one. £5 delivered if your in the UK.
