VOIP on UDK6.0 ROM - P3600 ROM Development

Hello,
Since few days I try to configure the VoIP on my device. After reading many threads and installed all it's neccessary (WM6VoIP.cab, rtcdll, sipconfigtool) I don't succes :
. With "fring" it's work great, except the sound who is very bad, but it's works
. With windows phone it's don't work : I can't enable "Internet Calling" in my Today screen. So I haven't the choice between my phone operator and my VoIP operator.
If someone can help me...

You must have the Voip settings right and that settings you get from YOUR Network carrier.
Fring and messenger calls is a bit different an Voip, fring and messenger (if use via wi-fi)is free calls, Voip calls isnt free!
(hope i got that right ) for example my network carrier bills 0,02e/min if i have/use Voip in my phone.

yes the VoIP settings are ok, I can pass a call with "frings" software but not without

I after many attempts with voip config in wm6 I could not make it work!!

phone not reachable while using gprs

Whenever I connect my jasjar to gprs anyone trying to call me gets a "User not reachable" message.
I contacted my service provider and they told me that this is because all the four incoming ports are busy in data transfer that is why a user not reachable message is played.
This is a very big problem for me as I m connected to net most of the times and also dont want to miss any calls
Hoping someone has a solution.........
I had the same problem the other day on my XDA IIi, family trying to call and not getting through but i was playing around a lot on the web. I nearly always have my GPRS connected and usually don't have any problem receiving calls, must be just because i was downloading at the time.
Hey, there is a registry hack in the wiki about keeping gprs open all then time. Would there be another possible to keep one channel open for gsm all the time ??

unfortunatly, this is the radio design or limitations of most gsm radios. It uses a radio that can only have GPRS active or Voice active. If you can use utms, you can have both utms and voice active.
It is only an issue when data is actually active (downloading or surfing) . Its ok if gprs is connected, only problem is when it is actually transmitting or receiving...
there is currently no utms network available at my place right now
Is there any way to keep one of the ports free for recieving voice calls only while others can take gprs data

Assuming the signal strength is good...U will receive a call while u are surfing the net...but not when downloading any file...I use "GPRS Always ON" and I do not face any problems receving the calls.
Are you Airtel? I had this problem - when I was in Delhi - Had to call and ask them for FULL service.
Seems that they have partial GPRS and full GPRS.
Class 2 ( ithink this is what it is called) means that data call will be dropped when voice comes in - so if you are doing anything on web/dl - it should stop to give way for voice - which is not happening in your case.
I love UMTS - you can do both - my emails keep on arriving even when i am talking on phone.

I had complained to them regarding this bt they said this is a limitation with gprs technology and presently there is no solution
I dont have a prob while i m connected bt i dont recieve calls when downloading data.

No - the way GPRS is designed, data is bumped off when you get voice call. Those people at Airtel didnot know anything - so you have to keep on pressing. It was more than 1 year back in Delhi. Its called class 10 service (I think - not class b or c as i wrote earlier). That time there were 2 kinds of GPRS - 150rs (which they advertised and was crippled) and a hidden 499rs one. Its all about the number of channels used (sorry - I have not updated myself on 2.5G)
In short - you got to ask them - getting engage tone when you are using data is not service - Airtel is not giving you proper service. Ask softly first - then rudely (thats the only way they listen)
I am in Dubai - using Etisalat UMTS.
I am too with Airtel and that 150 Rs unlimited..using since 2002...In all these days with various cell phones...I found that receiving a call depends on the GPRS signal strength..if it is good...i still can receive tha call..I hv been able to receive a call while d/l from web.

Orbit trying to use GPRS for SMS !!!

I've had my orbit a few months. Nothing out of the ordinary loaded on it :-
Opera
XnView
TCPMP
SK Tools
Battery Status
A few days ago it started throwing up a network logon box every time I receive or send an SMS. I have 2 dummy connections setup for Internet and Work so that it will not connect to GPRS without me knowing - I did this since day 1 with no problems. It means I can be absolutely sure that I am not getting GPRS data charges without me intitiating it.
So, it would seem that my orbit is trying to use GPRS for messaging. I've changed the setting from GSM preferred to GSM only, but this has not stopped the problem.
Can't recall any software load or changes immediately prior to this happening.
Any suggestions?

Well I can answer my own question - I had received an MMS and it was trying to dial out to get the photo !!

goto start-setting-connections and click on sms service change it to gsm preferred.

Idea of VOIP tweak for WM6 (thou not a programmer)

I have a little question concerning VOIP on WM6 (Black 3.0 for instance)
I receive calls, no worries, I can make calls, no worries either.
What could be great, as when i'm using a SIP from my ISP, would be to have some like automatic options. That is, VOIP for normal phones are free (domestic and some countries), thou mobiles (domestic and international) are not.
This add would then automatically use one way or another, depending on your preferences. Like if I want to call a mobile even while connected on SIP server, it uses the 3G or 2G connection. If I want to call a normal phone, domestic, it would use SIP. Like it would detect first if your connected to the wifi and SIP line, then check the first digits of the number and then it would choose through which connection the call would go.
As an example : (French numbers)
Assuming a effective SIP connection through wifi.
I call 01...(or+331...) through SIP
I call 06...(or+336...) through 3/2G
I call +1....(US number) through SIP
If it could also change automatically the ipdialplan.xml (confusing for me ) depending on wysiwyg options you can give would also be great.
Would that be possible ?

Mate i am about to release a new version of the Sip Cnfig Toos this will alow for WYSIWYG dial plan editing.
I just have to work out wethere i can force a ceritan type of number (01 in your eg) through a certiran gateway out (SIP).
But we are thinking.....
If anyone knows if you can do this thry the dial plan pelase let me know.

The answer could be the use of a "restrict" clause in the rule of the ipdialplan

Had no problem with the dutch firmware.
are you sure that you have 3g coverage where you live?
Don't forget to enable "wcdma only" from call settings. It might help.
Hmmm .... I do not have any problems with Diamond, I'm close to BTS with signal level 5 in 3G. So I think there is something with that....
Problem is with Samsung only. Sipdroid is showing more than 95% of lost packets and about 10% late. I have to test this with another firmware... maybe this is a problem.
Thank for suggestion with the change of GSM band - I did this - the same.
PS: no problems with on lin eradio e.g.....
OK - I changed firmware, radio, modem... nothing.
Then I made some additional test using sipdroid on the alternative port - and bang... clean sound... no dropping packets.
It is looking that vodafone.nl is filtering communication on SIP ports like 5060 - they have in rules that voip is not allowed.
The thing is that before with my old contract it was working really perfect without any missed packets.
Question is how it is possible that on HTC Desire in Vodafone as well everything is working fine.
Maybe they have me on the list.... black...

which port did you use? i should keep it in mind in case telfort does something similar
I have used port 36999.
The problem is that this port is supported only on pbxes.org - which is not perfect as the SIP provider for my another account.
So now I'm trying to find a good solution - maybe to use siproxd to forward connection to the SIP provider on normal port (5060).
Will see if this si working. For now Vodafone is blocking the SIP and VoIP (what is in their regulation).
I just did a mistake signing contract extension with them. Should choose another provider....

[Q] 3g video calls on desire hd

How to make 3g video calls like regular 2g calls. other than voip softwares (which uses internet to make calls) is there any app or other dialers which enables the video calling option directly from regular dialer screen. I use htc original firmware not yet rooted.

lol if you need an app then it would be through Voip as long as my knowledge is involved...maybe someone else knows if it's possible...also did you try googling? lol
Can u suggest one to make 3g calls that service provider has given
you realize there is no front camera so the video call wouldnt work very well lol. Ya you need to use something like skype. it wasn't built into any of the software because of the desire/inspire not having a face camera, the demand isnt there.
but, where as viber has an option to make 2g calls over network if user doesnt have viber installed in his handset viber will ask us can we make calls using regular dialer mode. is there any thing of that sort for 3g.
