Hi
After upgrading my device to the offical HTC E-Club WM6 (German) image i am unable to switch off bluetooth - it stays always active when its activated once with no possibility to switch off. Only way is to do a hardreset then its off until its activated again. Has someone experienced this behaviour?

I someone having the same problem as me?
since I installed WM6 on my device (first version 0.2 from Kyphur and now Windows Mobile VI - Black Edition v1.2) I have connection problems with my bluetooth carkit (Toyota Prius).
the pda should make a connection when my car starts, but most of the time the car tells me that the connection failed (not always) and most of the time I need to enable bluetooth in the comm manager on the pda, but have to press the button three time sometime before bluetooth is enabled.
All is well in a conversation, but when it ends and I would like to make a new call via my car, bluetooth is disabled again on the pda.
I didn't have this (many) problems with WM5.
I think I use an old version of the radio rom. Could this be the problem? and does anyone have an idea of what radio rom I should install.
I'm in the Netherlands and use the KPN network.
this is my device information:
ROM version:3.22.200.4
ROM date: 01/04/07
Radio version: 1.16.00.00
Protocol version: 32.53.7018.01H
I never flashed my device before WM6 so I think I have an old bootrom.
Can my problem be solved by installing a newer radio rom?

Similar issue here with WM6 (lvsw 20/3 and black edition 1.2) and Seat Leon Bluetooth Car. If i start the car, pair succesfull, but if i stop PDA (not phone) the car starts loss connection and reconnects several times, and bluetooth goes off. So i need to stay PDA On to work ok (not so difficult, i charge in the car and this prevent to switch off).
I've one more issue with tomtom. When i start tomtom6, the volume in tomtom is deactivateed. If i enter in parameters to activate, the free hands for the car losses the connection, so i need to enter in bloetooth and set the car to Free Hand active. Anyone with similar issues?
I've tested this with one free hands from other manufacturer and works ok, so i think is more a problem with bluetooth for Seat Leon, or the way it works (in my case) thats a problem with TyTN.

From what I've read (radio flash only affects GSM, not Bluetooth or WiFi), I'd say not likely.
I don't think this has anything to do with a new radio rom, but just for the record there is some improvement.
I have flashed my Hermes with the latest version of LVSW:
20070325_WM6_HERMES_WWE_3.23.0.2_1.38.00.10
and with this version I suddenly have extra info about my phone in my car.
I never got this information before (just a bluetooth connection, but no info about reception and battery status...)
I flashed the complete rom with the radio etc. included.
I don't know if the connection with the car will be more consistent. Too early to tell
Just for the info....

I've been trying to upgrade since yesterday (from PDAVIET .13, which kept losing my email account and crashed iGo.)
Decided to try Bepe's ROM (really like the big key video dialer
Just installed and registered all my apps (over an hour:-( and restarted.
Now I am greeted with:
MainWind.cpp: 148
Unable connect to server
I get the exclamation point (no service,) I cannot register to ATT's network and the phone dialer doesn't come up.
I have an inkling, that it maybe the Network Wizard which I ran, but I might be wrong.
Oh, and after the restart, my email account just disappeared too:-(((
I had a similar problem with the Ultra Light WWE ROM based on Dopod 3.00.707.18. Is there a problem with all of the recent Dopod-based ROMs, or is it me?

I have the official Dopod SEA ROM and have no problems of any kind but I did have to enter the network/MMS settings to connect to the data network and send messages.
I think it is the Network Wizard. I just reinstalled everything again, then entered all the network settings manually. It works fine.
Before, i would get locked out of phone service after a reset or two, with the several Dopod-based ROMs I tried. And it seemed to happen shortly after running the Network Wizard. Updating the radio didn't help.
The only other possibility is that I opened up the Extended ROM with the Hermes utility, but I don't think I did it to all the ROMs.
I still got the disappearing email and network password thing, but tried to follow mUn's suggestion about disconnecting and soft-resetting, so we'll see if it works. Anyone with an answer why it keeps happening?
Frankly, I am a little miffed that these new Dopod ROMs are acting up on me. The old WM6 ROMs from mUn and LVSW were generally rock-solid....
Hello.
I just bought a replica of the dopod p800w and I would like to install WM 6. The reason for this is because normally there should be a wifi working on the phone but I cannot get it to work (if it exists). I was thinking that maybe the driver is not installed.
When i try to flash to wm6, activesync just disconnects (because the phone switches off). Can anybody advise?
Thanks.
Hallo,
I've got a big problem with my MDAIII. After the upgrade to WM6 rom my radio doesn't work anymore. I have tried to update the Radio rom but with no succes. Every radio rom update tool i dowload will not work.
I read many wiki's and posts but come no further.
I have read that i have to downgrade to WM3, then update my radiorom and then update to WM6. But the problem is the downgrade roms to WM2003 doesn't work too.
The other strange thing is when i put out my battery and then put it back and startup my pda he says:
R:None
G:None
D:6.11.00.wwe
But when i gave the device a soft reset or hard reset the versions are:
R:1.00.00
G:1337.30
D:6.11.00.wwe
What are the real numbers?
Who can help me?
Sad MDAIII user
Edit:
If i give the device a hard reset and the startup screen give me this info:
R:1.00.00
G:1337.30
D:6.11.00.wwe
then the phone accepts the pin code from my simcard, but after the accept the device gives the message unknown SIM status.
Problem solved. Found a Radio rom that can install in bootloader mode. Or they al have to i don't actualy know.
Can you ponit me to the radio rom that actually works?
I have the same problem, although I install radio updates in bootloader, no one is kept when I remove the battery.
thanks
on WM5, WM6 and WM6.1, when u take out the battery, you need to soft-reset the device to allow the radio to boot.
ive lived with this 'issue' ever since i started flashing roms over my blueangel wm2003.
it's never been a problem...more of a minor annoyance to have to 'double-boot'.
say for example..if I've changed simcards and is switching on device for the first time id have to
1. switch on
2. reset to get the radios recognised
Hi,
I've upgraded my XDA IIs a few times now and am currently using WM6 (ROM version 5.60.00 WWE) having followed the instructions on this website. I am beginning to get various errors and crashed on my device so I thought I would revert to the original manufacturers ROM (o2 - WM2003 - UK).
I went to their website and downloaded the ROM but when I tried to load the ROM back onto my device I received an error telling me that the ROM I was loading on to my device was from a different country/region than the one currently on my device and the installation had to stop.
I am assuming that somewhere in the uprading of my device (which I understand was completely at my own risk) the country of origin or location of the device/ROM has changed or has been replaced by one from a different location/region or one that has no defined location or region.
My biggest problem with the WM6 ROM is that my BlueTooth GPS device doesn't seem to work with the TomTom software anymore. TomTom can identify my GPS device but doesn't track any satellite, therefore it's pretty pointless. My Radio version is 1.12.00, all my COM ports are configured correctly as is my Baud rate. My TomTom version is 6.010.
Everything used to work perfectly with the WM2003 ROM and if I can't revert back or solve my problem then I may just bin it. Before that though I will try another BlueTooth GPS device... just incase!
Cheers.
Maybe you can try the latest ROM WM6.5 21189 before you revert back to wm20003. You can find all the stock ROMs in our FTP or you can xplode he got everything.
i had the same problem when going back to wm2003se for storage resizing purposes. as the roms published here are WWE roms, for your first upgrade you need to use Maupgrade_noID.exe and put the device into bootloader mode, for reverting you have to do the same. in my case, the german MDA3 rom aldo declined country error (WWE) and then even "this rom is not designed for your device", since uit identified as blueangels, where german devices are heavily branded and for the official update need to indentify as MDAs.
so just do the same as in upgrading:
1. Bootloader
2. MAupgrade_noID
and you will have no problem. it is just a matter of the carrier protecting their customers from bricking their devices, if they are unexperienced and maybe really picked the wrong device's rom or people from other countries try and steal their branded roms (yeah, like that's ever gonna happen!).
EDIT: I just saw the reason for going back is a bluetooth problem. I will think about it and repost here, maybe that is solvable without going back, because wm6.x is so nice, nobody should use 2003 anymore
Thanks for your replies.
I think I will try the WM6.5 first as you're quite right that WM2003 is not very nice at all!
I want to revert my pc
to Windows 95....
the first i think in... was the compatibility on apps.
It was just a little sarcasm.
OK, got an update on my bluetooth problem...
WM6.5 installed no problem, looks good and seems to be a bit quicker and smoother. Also, it gives more information in the bluetooth connections list than WM6 did as to what the status is of my bluetooth devices.
My device lists my bluetooth GPS as "paired" but "not connected". When I try to connect I get an error saying "Your device did not connect with BN909GR. The connection failed or the passcode is incorrect."
It looks more and more like it's my bluetooth GPS receiver which is knackered.
Have you tried pairing the GPS with another device? I assume it should pair with any device, ie another phone etc?
Hi,
Yes, I can pair my bluetooth receiver with ordinary mobile phones. I cannot test its functionality though as neither of the phones I have available to pair it with have any soft ware which uses the GPS receiver.
I haven't yet got hold of another Bluetooth GPS receiver to try with my BA...
