bluetooth connections lost with WM6 - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

I someone having the same problem as me?
since I installed WM6 on my device (first version 0.2 from Kyphur and now Windows Mobile VI - Black Edition v1.2) I have connection problems with my bluetooth carkit (Toyota Prius).
the pda should make a connection when my car starts, but most of the time the car tells me that the connection failed (not always) and most of the time I need to enable bluetooth in the comm manager on the pda, but have to press the button three time sometime before bluetooth is enabled.
All is well in a conversation, but when it ends and I would like to make a new call via my car, bluetooth is disabled again on the pda.
I didn't have this (many) problems with WM5.
I think I use an old version of the radio rom. Could this be the problem? and does anyone have an idea of what radio rom I should install.
I'm in the Netherlands and use the KPN network.
this is my device information:
ROM version:3.22.200.4
ROM date: 01/04/07
Radio version: 1.16.00.00
Protocol version: 32.53.7018.01H
I never flashed my device before WM6 so I think I have an old bootrom.
Can my problem be solved by installing a newer radio rom?

Similar issue here with WM6 (lvsw 20/3 and black edition 1.2) and Seat Leon Bluetooth Car. If i start the car, pair succesfull, but if i stop PDA (not phone) the car starts loss connection and reconnects several times, and bluetooth goes off. So i need to stay PDA On to work ok (not so difficult, i charge in the car and this prevent to switch off).
I've one more issue with tomtom. When i start tomtom6, the volume in tomtom is deactivateed. If i enter in parameters to activate, the free hands for the car losses the connection, so i need to enter in bloetooth and set the car to Free Hand active. Anyone with similar issues?
I've tested this with one free hands from other manufacturer and works ok, so i think is more a problem with bluetooth for Seat Leon, or the way it works (in my case) thats a problem with TyTN.

From what I've read (radio flash only affects GSM, not Bluetooth or WiFi), I'd say not likely.

I don't think this has anything to do with a new radio rom, but just for the record there is some improvement.
I have flashed my Hermes with the latest version of LVSW:
20070325_WM6_HERMES_WWE_3.23.0.2_1.38.00.10
and with this version I suddenly have extra info about my phone in my car.
I never got this information before (just a bluetooth connection, but no info about reception and battery status...)
I flashed the complete rom with the radio etc. included.
I don't know if the connection with the car will be more consistent. Too early to tell
Just for the info....

GPRS does not reconnect after disconnection

When I use my GPRS after a soft reset everything work fine but after it disconnects the first connection and I try again, the "G" icon on the top flashes, BA tries to connect but the beast is not able to connect anymore to GPRS. It gives :"Cannot connect for an unknown reason. bla. bla....". I have to reset the radio in order to make it works again.
ROM: 1.40.00 WWE
Radio 1.13.00
Protocol Version: 1337.42
ExtROM: 1.40.556 WWE
Thanks for any help
Anybody know how to fix this - I have the same problem (same rom & radio)
Thank you
You might want to try updating to a different radio ROM. There is a walk through on how to do this on the Wiki.
My BA does this too, but only in certin areas like around my home. In downtown it works perfect.
i have the same problem
i had tried radio version 2.30.xx 2.19.xx
I think there is no solution, it is just native instability of this and other ROM version(s). Mine is the same. I know people using WM5 ROMs wothout this problem.
Anyway, I put the phone in flight mode, wait some seconds, and turn off flight mode - and then connect again to gprs and it works. This way I´ve been avoiding a soft reset.

No Wifi/WLAN after upgrade?? -> Possible Solution here!!

Hi Guys
I was using Black 2.0 with SPL 1.40.Olipro (HardSPL_v6) and Radio 1.41.00.10 and this afternoon decided to upgrade to Black 2.5 with SPL 2.10.Olipro
Everything worked well, until i got home, where i noticed no matter how hard i tried wifi/wlan would not detect any networks. Did a few searches but decided to go back to my previous config to see if it still worked or if i did any permanent damage to NAND/EEPROM blocks
First i tried Black 2.0 still with SPL 2.10.Olipro and Radio 1.41.00.10 but to no avail.
Next i downgraded SPL to 1.40.Olipro (HardSPL_V6) still with Black 2.0 and Radio 1.41.00.10 then everything worked!!
Immediately after that Black 2.5 went back on still with 1.40.Olipro and Radio 1.41.00.10, the moment WLAN/Wifi was enabled, a window poped up with a "New network detected" prompt.
Those with WLAN problems please try downgrading your SPL to 1.40.Olipro (HardSPL_v6) as i believe 2.10.Olipro may have some bugs?
Please post feedback for those that have tried.
Cheers!
Have you a link to download Hard-SPL V6 ?
I try with V5 and black 2.0 and no wifi start
Well, I am not sure what is posted below is necessary. I have Black 2.5 and SPL 2.10 Olipro (with Radio 1.41). My WiFi works fine ... and I did no special tweaking (other than to install the cingular settings).

Are you getting an IP address from the router? Usually its in the format 192.168.x.y
If you have an IP beginning with 169.x.y.z then make sure DHCP server is enabled on your router's config page. Do a search im sure this has been covered here before somewhere in greater detail.

I've tried everything, including using SNIFI and SOCKET WIFI softwares to connect to my existing netgear router(WEP enable) after upgrade to WM6 Black 2.5 and Radio 1.40 but unable to detect the network . After several hours, the only solution that work is: Turn on WIFI, DELETE existing connection, and add new connection (with WEP key)- and everything works !!!! . Hope this help

So you were able to turn on your wifi but couldn't connect?
.... I am unable to turn on my wifi at all.
I am having no trouble at all with WiFi, see signature for setup details.
Had 1.41 radio first, then upgraded Black 2.5, then SPL 2.10, no reasoning for order that I did it in, just did it as the upgrades were available.
anybody knows how to configure wifi in this version?

Although i dont think order matters, but i did the following which didnt work for me
1. Radio 1.41
2. SPL 2.10
3. Black 2.5
Maybe i should try SPL 2.10 last now that everything is working
Btw did anyone notice a slight decrease in speed/response from Black 2.0 to Black 2.5?
Firstly, thanks.
I have checked it, I can get IP from the router.
I did a Textbook upgraded based on "Mr Vanx" upgrade guide to Black 2.5/1.41.00.10/2.10.Olipro (HardSPL v7)
every thing works perfectly except I can connect to my Netgear wireless router, it detects it and ask for the key, but will not connect.
Not with WPA-WSK or WEP, I have tried everything (removing settings, upgrading router firmware changing from G to B, Hard Reset and not a sausage, it was worked perfectly before the upgrade.
Wififofum2 detects in but failes to recognise the type of security.
I am going to try putting the retail imate back on
I'm on Black 2.5, 1.40 and Wifi turns on, does not detect the network... even with a manual CONNECT through connections
Let it sit a while, with wifi on, 10 minutes maybe, then it decides to pop up Network Detected... truly weird..
Same NO Wifi Issue here too
Running all latest ROMS (see my sig.)
When I turned Wifi, it appears from the device to be working, but it did NOT pick up any signal at all. But...
I DID get Wifi to finally come on, I believe, by turning OFF my Cellular signal in the Connections app, and then turning on Wifi. I think it took a couple of mins to popup, saying my ssid was found at that point.
If anyone finds a real solution, please post!
Hi guys,
I've been reading the forum long time and this is my first post.
My phone is Softbank X01HK and I am currently running Black 2.5 with the buzzing cap, SPL-2.10-Oilpro and Radio 1.38.00.11. My phone works well on Wifi, HSDPA, GPRS-EDGE and GRPS. I have 2 phone numbers with 2 different provider in Hong Kong, Hutchison 3-HK and Peoples.
I used to have SPL-1.40-Oilpro and until yesterday I flashed to SPL-2.10-Oilpro. Surprisingly but weird, I have found my 3G reception at home gets 1 to 2 bar better right after I have SPL-2.10-Oilpro installed. It is so weird cuz I thought the boot loader has nothing to do with the 3G reception, also, everything else still works without any noticeable different.
I was planned to upgrade my Radio Rom to 1.40, but I think I'll stick with 1.38.00.11 for while.
Hope this help

has anyone got Radio 1.15.00 connect to Wifi+WPA security ?

After I upgraded to one of the later WM6 images I also got Radio image 1.15.00
The Radio image seems to be working fine in terms of GSM/GPRS/BT
but failed in one test : connect to a WPA (TKIP) secured networks.
It worked in previous radio version with no problems.
When I switch my router (WRT54G) to WEP security my JasJar connects perfectly. When I switch it to WPA it "sees" the router but fails to establish connection.
I tested several WM6 images, all behave the same in that specific issue.
anyone else has experience it ?
Jwrightmcps + Darkforce Rom + Helmi 1.1 are working with WPA PSK (TKIP). Currently I use darkforce with radio 1.18 and have no problems with wifi connections.
Darkforce rom can be found here:

Currently I'm using KDSKamal ROM, the only way to have it working is to turn on WiFi and while it scans for a network I turn off the PDA, then I wait 1 second and I turn on the PDA, after this it miraculously connects! I don't know the reason, I discovered this by case and it is repeatable and this is the trick I use every time I want to connect to my AP (this work both with WPA-PSK with TKIP network with SSID broadcasted and with network with SSID not broadcasted). Same story with this ROM with radio 1.15 and 1.18 (the one I'm currently using). With the previous ROM from Jwrightmcps it was working fine without tricks (radio 1.15).
Bye, m.
the trick works ! I turn off my device, turn it on - and walla ! "connected"
I don't believe its the CE ROM image problem. it must be a variant of radio image 1.15 which is damaged.(and probably now every cooked radio ROM now contains this bug too, including 1.18).

I do the same to connect to bluetooth devices also...
downgraded radio to 1.14.20 . same problems
so now I start to suspect its not the radio version... its the CE ROM image bug.

This is definitely a CE problem, as radio image has nothing to WiFi and BT.
The bug is in tiacxwln.dll driver.

Radio v1.00.25.05 GPS BUG ???

Hallo (Bepe)
I have a HTC Touch Diamond and my rom was RUU_Diamond_HTC_GER_1.37.407.2_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.26a.25.09_1.00.25.03_Ship
and my GPS functionality was perfect. with TomTom 7
Now i have Diamond_bElite_Premium_0.95_0407 rom, and Diamond_Radio_1.00.25.05 because was recommended. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407956
Now my GPS not works, why??
I have Check with HTC GPS Tool and GNS Test, no GPS signal.
QuickGPS update 6 Days an 23 h
I think the problem is the Diamond_Radio_1.00.25.05 why not works with the internal GPS. It's very strange.
Anybody have the same problems ???
Do you think you can resolve this problem ???
Have you tried another radio with the same ROM?
Did you use VOIP? It has a tendency to break GPS (hard boot fixes the issue)
I have a custom built ROM based on 20273 (with 15965 elements) with radio .11
GPS works fine. It DOES take some time to get a fix the first time, but afterwards, it swooshes.
^.^
IF another radio doesn't work, check if the issue persists with another ROM but with radio .05.
have you tryed a hard reset?
I have this radio version and the gps work fine
I have this radio version and the gps doesn't work fine! since I've flashed my diamond... a lot of problem for gps. No voip soft installed.
Problem on 0.95 and 0.96 bepe version.
i have this radio on the hk 193 rom and the gps works flawlessly,takes30 seconds to lock sats from cold boot.
Always hard reset after flashing a new rom. It fixes many problems. This advice is given by Duttythroy.

I'am using this radio ROM with 1.37.406.1FRE.
GPS works fine ! At least, 1.00.25.05 is a very good Radio ROM.
I don't think GPS has anything to do with the Radio since it is not a transmitting device. It's another problem. Have you checked windows manages GPS port?

When the HTC trinity was release in Europe it had a Radio ROM of 1.23.** with this ROM the GPS did not function. With the release of Radio ROM 1.38.** the device now had GPS capability. Do you still think the RADIO ROM has nothing to do with GPS?
I've had the same issues after upgrading the Radio ROM... The two are DEFINITELY connected as in the Radio ROM has something in it that affects GPS.
Anyway, as stated in other threads and here (ALWAYS hard reset after upgrading the Radio ROM, even though you dont have to, its best that you do.
Then run GPSTool, choose COM4, baud 4800, press 'Open' then once you see data in the bottom half of the screen (thats your GPS talking!) choose 'Cold Start' from the drop down box and then press 'Nav Init'.
Now leave it like this for a few minutes (outside!) and then press the satellites tab at the bottom, as long as you can at least see some red dots (satellites) on the globe (earth) then your GPS IS WORKING. Dont worry if it says Mode 2: No fix available - as I dont know about the rest of you but Ive never seen this tool get a 'fix'.
Now once you've let it do that for a while and verified some red dots on the satellites screen then you should be able to close the tool, and start TomTom and just be a little patient maybe and then you will start seeing some activity.
A little note: Be somewhere with at LEAST 60% sky view when you're doing this as you've reset all the nav data and the initial process of locking on satellites from 'cold' can take a while, but once you've locked on eventually the next time it should be a little quicker. As usual YMMV but at least this has worked for me and I've had no end of trouble with the GPS after doing Radio ROM updates.
Good luck.

Change modified IIs back to original ROM

Hi,
I've upgraded my XDA IIs a few times now and am currently using WM6 (ROM version 5.60.00 WWE) having followed the instructions on this website. I am beginning to get various errors and crashed on my device so I thought I would revert to the original manufacturers ROM (o2 - WM2003 - UK).
I went to their website and downloaded the ROM but when I tried to load the ROM back onto my device I received an error telling me that the ROM I was loading on to my device was from a different country/region than the one currently on my device and the installation had to stop.
I am assuming that somewhere in the uprading of my device (which I understand was completely at my own risk) the country of origin or location of the device/ROM has changed or has been replaced by one from a different location/region or one that has no defined location or region.
My biggest problem with the WM6 ROM is that my BlueTooth GPS device doesn't seem to work with the TomTom software anymore. TomTom can identify my GPS device but doesn't track any satellite, therefore it's pretty pointless. My Radio version is 1.12.00, all my COM ports are configured correctly as is my Baud rate. My TomTom version is 6.010.
Everything used to work perfectly with the WM2003 ROM and if I can't revert back or solve my problem then I may just bin it. Before that though I will try another BlueTooth GPS device... just incase!
Cheers.
Maybe you can try the latest ROM WM6.5 21189 before you revert back to wm20003. You can find all the stock ROMs in our FTP or you can xplode he got everything.
i had the same problem when going back to wm2003se for storage resizing purposes. as the roms published here are WWE roms, for your first upgrade you need to use Maupgrade_noID.exe and put the device into bootloader mode, for reverting you have to do the same. in my case, the german MDA3 rom aldo declined country error (WWE) and then even "this rom is not designed for your device", since uit identified as blueangels, where german devices are heavily branded and for the official update need to indentify as MDAs.
so just do the same as in upgrading:
1. Bootloader
2. MAupgrade_noID
and you will have no problem. it is just a matter of the carrier protecting their customers from bricking their devices, if they are unexperienced and maybe really picked the wrong device's rom or people from other countries try and steal their branded roms (yeah, like that's ever gonna happen!).
EDIT: I just saw the reason for going back is a bluetooth problem. I will think about it and repost here, maybe that is solvable without going back, because wm6.x is so nice, nobody should use 2003 anymore
Thanks for your replies.
I think I will try the WM6.5 first as you're quite right that WM2003 is not very nice at all!
I want to revert my pc
to Windows 95....
the first i think in... was the compatibility on apps.
It was just a little sarcasm.
OK, got an update on my bluetooth problem...
WM6.5 installed no problem, looks good and seems to be a bit quicker and smoother. Also, it gives more information in the bluetooth connections list than WM6 did as to what the status is of my bluetooth devices.
My device lists my bluetooth GPS as "paired" but "not connected". When I try to connect I get an error saying "Your device did not connect with BN909GR. The connection failed or the passcode is incorrect."
It looks more and more like it's my bluetooth GPS receiver which is knackered.
Have you tried pairing the GPS with another device? I assume it should pair with any device, ie another phone etc?
Hi,
Yes, I can pair my bluetooth receiver with ordinary mobile phones. I cannot test its functionality though as neither of the phones I have available to pair it with have any soft ware which uses the GPS receiver.
I haven't yet got hold of another Bluetooth GPS receiver to try with my BA...
