Ive done some searching and found others searching for the same but I canont seem to find anything.
I'm looking for something that will indicate the current strength of the signal in percentage of the network im connected to, maybe even with the SSID
Ideally a little today plugin/icon that simple says netgear: 80% or something like that.
Its my understanding that the app "batterstatus" does this but its far too complicated for me and besides I cant seem to find a percentage representation only a db one

I have had several instances where I get dropped because my IP changed. I thought it could be a signal problem so used open signal maps to find my tower but also noticed that there may be a more powerful antenna behind the one that I normally use. This signal took over until I made it home.
So I am thinking that if I could keep only 1 tower or install a proxy that I might be able to fix this problem. I still need more testing and/or other ideas to make this testing more conclusive. I can say that everytime I have a problem the network connection and speeds look good.
Anybody else or ideas?
I feel stupid asking this question.
Im not even worried about my signal strength but the bars seem to be extremely inaccurate.
I have seen people talking about their -dbm level of their signal, but I cant figure out how to check it. Is there a way to change the bars to dbm and if there is how? If not how do I check it?
Thanks!
Settings>About Phone>Status As far as an easy way to watch it you might check out some of the signal widgets from the market.
Back when I ran a CM ROM on my HP Touchpad the WiFi icon showed blue when you actually had an internet connection and white if you just had a network connection but no internet. I'd love to have something similar for the Note but I haven't been able to find anything. I'm sure it's out there but I don't even know what search terms to use. So if anyone has found something I'd appreciate a heads up.
I have a widget which includes a cell signal strength progress bar. It worked fine initially, but now it seems to be "frozen". No matter how my signal strength changes, I get the same reading from zooper for dBm and ASU. It is stuck on -125 dBm and -6ASU (which is not correct for ASU anyway). Any idea on how to fix this? I think this happened after I went through an area that switched from 4G to 3G, and then back to 4G, but whatever the case, the zooper reading is not changing at all now from the above numbers.
update - Tasker seems to work, so that is what I am using for now. Possibly this is bug in Zooper similar to what some others have seen, although my numbers are different. It is strange however that it worked to start with.....
I am traveling in China with my phone where Google is not available. I am online without any problems but the online indicator in the signal strength icon is an X indicating that I am not online. This, however, is not correct but I have to believe the operating system is searching for some Google function that is blocked. Is there any way of getting rid of this misleading indicator?
