It might be very simple to all you educated guys, but I am sure there are a few more like me that are a bit baffled by some of the threads on here.
What would be REALLY nice would be a 'simple' step-by-step guide to installing wm6 on our devices, and what we need to download to achieve it, eg "you need this for MDACIII, and this for O2 Orbit"
Obviously anyone trying it runs the risk of buggering up their phone, but that's their own fault.
Any volunteers?

having asked the same question myself here goes.
Download USPL and follow the instructions. they are very clear.
Download
extract
connect phone with minimum 50% battery
soft reset and once started up fully run the app by clicking on Rom Update utility
follow the process through once finished your device will restart.
once restarted you then can flash the rom of your choice
I used Black and Blue again ran the update utility and bingo.
dont forget that all data on your device will be lost so make sure you have back up of contacts etc in outlook on pc.
Finaly make sure you have Activesync 4.5
enjoy
AS STATED ALTHOUGH THIS WORKS YOU ALL DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK
Id just like to know really is that how many people have done it without unlocking the device for o2 orbit uk. i have one and am not really willing to try it unless i know there are people out there that have tried it and it worked.
as there is no rom install file from o2 for this, there is no way bacj and bricked phone is the only way forward. id like not to brick my phone as i need it daily.
so, has anyone with a locked o2 device upgraded to WM6 successfully and which rom did you use if it worked.?

I created update package for this ROM in NBH format, so no risk of bricking when flashing it, just unzip & run RomUpgradeUtility.exe
Download here:
ARTE_WWE_WM6.zip
NOTE: Before flashing you need to have Artemis USPL on your device.

Taken from Bepe's thread about the modified o2 German update. Basically you need to use the Artemis USPL program and then use the first link to install which I did successfully on a CID locked phone.
Thanks guys, but, unfortunately, the uspl thing does not work on my pc
Along with a few others I get the 'black screen' on my mdac3 then activesync disconnects and the rom loader throws up an error
Luckily my mdac3 survives through a soft reset
I think the idiots guide is not quite there yet
hi..
i have O2 uk orbit.. which is still locked, i fully charged the battery, completed a hard reset of the phone used the pof Artemis Update SPL (USPL) v.01 upgrade (wow what a brain box he is!) just in case it failed, so i could you use any NBH file to get you orbit to work again if i failed. Then used Bepe's WM6 os.nb file renamed it to windows.nb downloaded ATRE.zip unzipped the ARTE.zip file placed the windows.nb into the same directory, don't forget to edit UpgradeRom.bat file 0x3900000 to 0x3500000 with in the ATRE directory and copied and installed EnableRapi.cab to the phone. Reset it the phone and then started the UpgradeRom.bat! 12 mins later upgrade complete. Hard restart the phone.. Chewing nails by now... all went well did a soft reset of the phone before the O2 ExtROM autorun starts..
sorted, and did half way though a night shift at 3 am.. not bad at all!

Confused... is it really necessary to take all these steps? I thought that the only thing required is to run Pof's tool USPL, and after that run Romupdateutility.exe from the package in .nbh format (the link is just a few messages above yours). Please correct me when I'm wrong.

OK, I volunteered... This is a detailed list of steps how I installed a new ROM on my MDA Compact III (CID locked, at least I think so). It worked without any errors or problems. I used PDAVIET Black&Blue v2.0. It was my first flash on my Artemis, so I more than understand your need for step-by-step guide
1. download the file Artemis_USPL.zip
2. unpack into the folder c:\USPL
3. download the file ARTEMIS_Black_Blue_v2.zip
4. unpack into the folder c:\ROM
5. soft reset your phone and have it charged over 50% (I have it fully charged)
6. wait until the system starts on your Artemis
7. turn on flight mode (probably not necessary, but I wanted to minimize any risks)
8. connect your Artemis to PC with a USB cable
9. wait until ActiveSync icon in your tray (lower right corner of your windows desktop) turns from gray to green. If you connect your Artemis for the first time to PC, you do not need to set up synchronization, just click "cancel" on the first screen of "Synchronization Setup Wizard"
10. while ActiveSync icon is green, run c:\USPL\start_uspl.exe
11. a DOS screen will pop up with the text "Initializing: 0.." in the bottom indicating probably seconds from the start (it stopped around 70 in my case after about 1.5 min)
12. DOS screen disappears and PDA Phone ROM update utility pops up
13. at the same time, your Artemis turns blank (orange/green LED turns off as well)
14. tick the check box next to " I understand..." and then click Next
15. tick the check box next to " I completed..." and then click Next
16. a box saying "Verifying information on your PDA..." pops up
17. on the next screen click Update button
18. next screen says "Upgrade to ... image version 9.99" - click Next
19. Next screen says "You are now ready to update..." - click Next, a window with a blue progress bar appears with a text "Updating ROM image..", it quickly runs to 100%
20. next screen says "Congratulations! ..." - click Finish
21. your phone turns on and boots into your old system, however it should be CID unlocked now
22. your Active Sync should reestablish and icon turns green again
23. do not touch anything (phone or USB cable) and run C:\ROM\ROMUpdateUtility.exe (make sure activesync icon is green)
24. PDA Phone ROM Update utility window appears, tick the check box next to " I understand..." and then click Next
25. tick the check box next to " I completed..." and then click Next
26. a box saying "Verifying information on your PDA..." pops up
27. on next screen click Update button (says "Current information...")
28. next screen says "Upgrade to ... image version BnB2.0" - click Next
29. Next screen says "You are now ready to update..." - click Next
30. a window with a blue progress bar appears with a text "Updating ROM image..", your Artemis will have light gray screen with blue progress bar showing the progress of flashing - do not touch anything and wait (it took 2-3 minutes on my 3 years old PC)
31. next screen says "Congratulations! ..." - click Finish
32. your Artemis turns on and starts booting, you can disconnect it from PC now
33. the boot screen remains the same (T-Mobile in my case), so do not panic!! it is normal
34. wait until calibrate the screen appears, calibrate, choose time zone and you are ready to use your new OS
35. let me know if this manual was clear enough, whether it helped you and please suggest potential changes for improvement
Take care,
Dzim
i've just succesfully flashed my dutch CID-LOCKED MDA Compact 3 with this method, so i'd say it's reasonably fool-proof
A couple of questions before i take the plunge - if my t-mobile cmda iii is already CID unlocked, can i just go straight to the update rom part.
Also, is there any way of dumping my standard t-mobile rom first off? I'm having trouble trying to use itsutils due to the app lock.
Cheers Dzim!
Your instructions worked perfectly.
One very happy complete idiot here!

There is a TMobile rom on here somewhere already, I just cant find it at the moment
My Compact 3 it’s death now. After pres voice commander button MDA start only to the boot loader. Can’t run complete system.
Pleas tell me. How can I write the new rom with WM5 or WM6 ?
OOPS! Working well apart from the "cant save word documents" bug!!
Just an update - to use the v1 or v2 black and blue, even though it is unlocked, you still need to use the supercid util.
Otherwise you get the rom update getting to 3% before crashing out to say the rom is corrupted.
I've now converted 2 other tmobile compact mda IIIs successfully, wm6 is much quicker
Yes, with my Compact was exactly as You say. Now is death. What I can do now to repair it.
big thanks to Dzim, used the idiots guide and now on wm6 =D
cheers!

Hi! Nemesis, try to connect your HTC to your pc in bootloader mode.
Lauch start_uspl.exe in USPL folder. Follow instruction on post N°9 by DZIM.
After USPL your HTC should reboot (maybe in bootloader mode only).
Launch the ROMUpdateUtility.exe in Black&Blue ROM v2 and follow instruction.
Thanks gguyaz
Pleas tell me.
Could I doing this upgrade with Windows Vista on my PC?
Hi All
I really have tried reading up on HSPL and SSPL - and I have been very close to trying to flashing my brand new Diamond Touch, but everytime I cancel the last operation, flashing the phone.
I got it yesterday, and it is a businessphone - but still I want to play a little around with it, trying some of the stuff that is out there.
Beeing a businessphone I really need to know what I am dooing - and therefore I have read the wiki about HSPL and SSPL, and I think I have an idea of what is what - but then reading some of the threads about new HSPL's I still get confused... It might be the heat here in Denmark as I am no noob at flashing stuff, like PSP's, Ipods...
So, after all this - to my noobish questions...
1. When flashing/installing a HSPL (not SSPL at the beginning) I do not hardreset anything, it is just a new bootloader? My phone software (SSPL) is in danish, så I dont want to mess that up!
2. I see instructions like the ones below, but am I right to think, that I have to copy the file DiamondCustomRUU directly to the phone - and not try to run it from my pc? And how do I choose which HSPL .nbh-file that I want to use - I think I have downloade 5 different at this time.
So I think that there might be one or more steps missing?
1) download hardSPL
2) create a new folder on desktop
3) unzip to new folder
4) plug in your device
5) wait until Windows Mobile Device Centre on your PC says "connected"
6) run diamondsspl.bat from the new folder you just created
7) spacebar all the way
8) your PDA will show up a window
9) click close/continue on PDA
3. I have tried running RomUpdateUtility from Unsigned-Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex. The software do connect to my phone, and tell me what software I am currently using, but when I click "next" to make the update, nothing happens for a while - and at the end it times out...
Ok, thats it - I just want to be 100% sure what I am doing!

Ah, now I seem to be getting it!
Now I just have to decide on what HSPL to use - i want to use Cyphols DIAM.DAN.137.403-3 as it is a danish ROM, and it requires a developer HSPL as far as I can read....
Here's a tutorial for the new users facing unanswered (at a first glance) questions while browsing through the tremendous amount of information that can be found on the Diamond Forum.
A more detailed guide, one which contains screenshots too, can be found in The Bible!
IMPORTANT!
Before you proceed, you need to understand one thing: although these upgrades work in 99% of the cases, you are doing this at your own risk!
Prerequisites:
1. make sure you backup all data on your device (that is contacts, sms, mms, settings, owner info, personalization, etc.) as the upgrade process will wipe out all the information found on the device.
2. make sure you have a working ActiveSync (Windows™ XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (Windows Vista™) connection established, ready to sync.
3. make sure you have all power management options on your PC turned OFF (like Sleep, Standby or Hibernation).
Preface:
There may be other ways and other combinations to do this, probably I will update this thread and try to keep it up to date, but this tutorial is based on the steps I personally followed, writing this while doing the upgrade procedure.
Acronyms (excerpt from the Wiki):
CID lock (aka vendor lock): put on your device by the manufacturer to prevent installation of a ROM not released by them.
HardSPL: This modified bootloader allows a much safer flashing process to take place since it reduces the chance of permenently bricking your device. It also removes the need to CID Unlock the device since it ALWAYS reports SuperCID when flashing. See the official thread for more info.
Hard Reset: Similar to a soft reset, by performing a hard reset you completely wipe your device and restore it to the position it was in when you first turned the device on after it was purchased or after a new ROM is flashed.
Radio: The radio stack is responsible for the phone functionality of the device. This includes GPRS, GSM, UMTS, and GPS operations as well as camera functionality. The version you use depends on who your carrier is as users have reported versions working better on one carrier than the other. The wiki pages contain the latest versions available to download and install.
ROM: The ROM holds the Operating system and other components such as the bluetooth and wifi stacks. The ROM is accompanied by the Radio, Ext_ROM, SPL and IPL. Carriers such as T-mobile or Vodaphone taylor the ROM to their specifications and version numbers do not carry the same meaning across different carriers. IF the carrier you use supports the device well they will usually release regular ROM updates.
RUU - ROM Upgrade Utility: It’s the s/w used on your PC to do a ROM upgrade for your PPC;
IPL - Initial Program Loader: It’s the bootloader for PPC. It boots up SPL;
SPL - Secondary Program Loader: Loads the actual OS;
WWE: World Wide English Edition;
SSPL: SSPL is a modified bootloader which is loaded into RAM when run, this allows us to overwrite any aspect of the ROM, Radio or Bootloader far easier than using mtty.
A. Upgrading to HardSPL (Bible page)
There are several HardSPL editions available for the Diamond. While I have decided to go with the HardSPL described in this guide, the majority of Chefs indicate clearly in the ROM thread what version of HardSPL is recommended to go with their cooked ROM.
IMPORTANT!
Make sure you have the prerequisites!
1. Download OliNex Unsigned Hard-SPL (Developers Edition) from here;
2. Unzip the files from the archive to any new folder;
3. Run the executable (in most cases it is ROMUpdateUtility.exe, but it also can be ROM.exe or any other name, recognize it by the icon);
4. If you understand the caution and risks, check the box and click Next;
5. Read carefully and follow all directions;
6. If you completed all steps indicated, check the box and click Next;
7. Next screen will show current version on device and by clicking Update you will see the version to be flashed;
8. Click Next when ready;
9. Your device might ask you for confirmation on launching a program. Just tap Yes! Your device will display a completely black screen. A Progress bar will appear on your computer screen. Be patient while your device is being updated. Do not interact with device in any way, do not unplug cable, do not turn off device or computer!
10. When upgrading is finished, your device will automatically soft reset. Click the ‘Finish’ button to exit the RUU.
To verify if you indeed have correct HardSPL on your device, enter Bootloader by pushing the reset button while holding volume down key on the side.
It should display*:
* In case of another HardSPL, the version number would differ!
Code:
…
SPL-1.40.OliNex
…
If this is the case, you have successfully upgraded your device to HardSPL.
B. Upgrading Radio (Bible page)
There are several Radios for the Diamond, although 1.00.25.05 has been reported to have the best results and power management, plus it fixes the device getting hot issue.
These reports are subjective though. Radio operation depends very much on your location, carrier, etc. If one Radio version does not meet your needs, switch!
IMPORTANT!
Make sure you have the prerequisites!
IMPORTANT!!!
Make sure that before this step, your device has already been upgraded to HardSPL
1. Download Custom RUU from here;
2. Download Radio 1.00.25.05 (and others) from here;
3. Extract the downloaded Custom RUU from step 1 into a new folder on your PC.
4. Extract the downloaded Radio version from step 2 in the same folder as the Custom RUU.
5. Execute DiamondCustomRUU.exe.
6. If you understand the caution and risks, check the box and click Next;
7. Read carefully and follow all directions;
8. If you completed all steps indicated, check the box and click Next;
9. Next screen will show current version on device and by clicking Update you will see the version to be flashed;
10. Click Next when ready;
11. Your device might ask you for confirmation on launching a program. Just tap Yes! Your device will display a completely black screen. A Progress bar will appear on your computer screen. Be patient while your device is being updated. Do not interact with device in any way, do not unplug cable, do not turn off device or computer!
12. When upgrading is finished, your device will automatically soft reset. Click the ‘Finish’ button to exit the RUU.
To verify if you indeed have successfully upgraded Radio, look for the R numbers at boot as well as in Start, Settings, System, Device Information.
If the numbers are correct, you have successfully upgraded your Radio.
C. Flashing a ROM (applies to both Official and Cooked ROMs) (Bible page)
IMPORTANT!
Make sure you have the prerequisites!
IMPORTANT!!!
Make sure that before this step, your device has already been upgraded to HardSPL.
IMPORTANT!!!
Remember: there is no better ROM!
We all judge ROMs by our own subjective perception: some look for speed, others for balance, others for stability, others for applications, others for the looks! Do not ask which ROM to use, just flash it! If you don’t like it, SWITCH!
IMPORTANT!!!
READ the ROM thread! You can find useful information regarding version, contents, aspect, memory usage, bugs, fixes, patches, add-ons, benchmarks and most important, Chefs recommend you HardSPL versions to use. Also, some Chefs might have included Radio in their ROMs. That info you can find also while reading the ROM thread.
1. Download the ROM of your choice;
2. Unzip the contents to a new folder;
3. Run the RUU;
4. If you understand the caution and risks, check the box and click Next;
5. Read carefully and follow all directions;
6. If you completed all steps indicated, check the box and click Next;
7. Next screen will show current version on device and by clicking Update you will see the version to be flashed;
8. Click Next when ready;

I just wanted to thank you for your work, tnyynt
When I began reading how to do all these updates on the diamond I was rather confused about the loads of information here in this forum. Since there are many different SPLs, radios, roms and cabs it was hard to find out which one is the right one for me. I spent many hours to read (I know that reading is essential when you want to manipulate your device).
So I really appreciate your tutorial although I managed to update HardSPL and Radio without a compact help like yours. As I said - it was not easy to find all the needed information - even with RTFM and using the search function here.
So, once again: thank you very much!

Hello there.. great forum, many usefull stuff for HTC users..
I need some help.. noob stuff i supose.
A. Upgrading to HardSPL
I cant get over the first step I extracted & installed the SPL-1.40.OliNex along with other versions from this forum... but no use on my Diamond
After pressing volume down key + reset button, no changes are visible... can it be there is some new version thats immune on this type of software modifying?
The data that im currently seeing on device boot is:
R 1.00.25.03
G 52.26a.25.09
D 1.37.00.00
Solved my problems with HardSPL 1.24
+ for the tutorial...
I see a reference to the hermes device in the HardSPL section - that might confuse people LOL.
HardSPL: This modified bootloader allows a much safer flashing process to take place since it reduces the chance of permenently bricking your Hermes device. It also removes the need to CID Unlock the device since it ALWAYS reports SuperCID when flashing. See the official thread for more info.

Other than that Great stuff
Maybe you can extend your tutorial to flashing back to original ROM for warranty purposes. Especially getting rid of the Hard-SPL after reflashing the original ROM.
Except that - great job!

Thank you. Hope it will stop most of basic questions.
Well just to say that I followed all the steps of this tutorial and everything went just fine! Good job!
awesome tutorial
I didd not see this thread before, great stuff, it answers all the questions I had before flashing my diamond.
Thank you!!
Thank You very much. Great idiot proof Tut.
Keep up the good work.
I am so grateful you can't even imagine!
I've been trying for the longest time to upgrade my ROM
I've spent probably about 8 hours trawling this site (and others) trying to get all the info I needed together, and I've been moaning to a mate about 'why doesn't someone just post a 123 step by step guide because then I could go through step by step and I'd be able to easily identify the step(s) i was missing out.
This post did just that! I thought that the Rom included the radio so I wouldn't need to download the radio seperately and put it in the same folder as the ROM. Did that and now it is actually installing where it just sat there for 15 minutes before and then said it had lost connection.
Granted it's currently only at around 40% but that is 40% more than I ever got before and I can see it is going to work.
Thanks you!
Since there are many newbies here who are new to the world of flashing I've decided to do them all a huge favor by posting this thread. If there are other tutorials around, I'd suggest the mods sticky them please. I'm going to make this one as user friendly and easy as possible.
Okay. So you're bored of the stock HTC ROM eh? Never fear, the XDA cooks are here
If you are using an XP machine, you are good to go. If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, then go to this page and follow the instructions here to roll back the drivers. THIS IS IMPORTANT IF YOU'RE ON VISTA OR 7 BECAUSE OTHERWISE YOUR PHONE WON'T CONNECT IN BOOTLOADER!
Also, take note that while doing ANY kind of flashing, always remove both your SD card and your SIM card. ALWAYS.
Firstly, you will have to CID unlock your phone. Download the USPL and follow the instructions to flash it onto your phone. What, still need instructions? Okay.
Unzip it.
Connect your phone (WHILE IT IS RUNNING, NOT IN BOOTLOADER)
Click start_uspl.exe
Wait till the process finishes.
The phone will automatically reboot. During boot up, you will see a few numbers on your white HTC screen. Look out for the SPL number. If it is 1.11.0000, then you have been successful in unlocking your phone. If not, well, you have to try again. Mostly it should happen in the first go.
Now. Once your phone is CID unlocked, you can download any ROM you want and flash it to your device. Lets say you are kind to me and download one of my ROMs (see my sig )
*Before you flash any ROM though I strongly suggest you update your USPL to the new cmon USPL. This improvement lets you flash ROMs of ANY size to your device. To flash this, just download the file, and replace the ruu_signed.nbh file located in any of my (or anyone else's) ROM package with the one included in cmon USPL.
Then, put your phone into bootloader mode. To do this, switch your phone off. Then press the voice recording, power and reset buttons together. After 5 seconds release the reset button, but keep the other two pressed till you see a three colored screen. Once you see the screen you are in bootloader mode.
Once in bootloader, connect the phone to the PC. Once it is connected run the RUU.exe located in the folder where you just put the cmon USPL .nbh file. Keep pressing next and finally press update. It will be done in 2 seconds. On next boot your SPL version will now say 1.11.cmon. Yay, success.
Now you are ready to flash any ROM of your choice. Download whichever ROM you want, and unzip the package into a folder. The package will have around 6 files. Of them, only RUU.exe and ruu_signed.nbh are important. Once you check for these files, put your phone in bootloader mode again, connect to PC and start RUU.exe. Like cmon USPL, keep pressing next and then update. Soon, you will have a progress bar on your phone as well as your computer screen. The flashing process will be complete in 10 minutes.
The phone will reboot once the flashing is done. Now you can kiss old stock ROM goodbye! On system reboot, the phone will take some time to start, and it will ask you to "tap screen to begin setup". Do as the phone tells you to, align the screen, enter the date and time and your new flashed ROM is ready to use!
I hope this post helps all the newbies out there in flashing their devices. Be warned, you have to be careful while doing this or your device might end up as a very attractive brick. It is very easy and I'm sure all you people can manage it.
Special thanks to:
pof and cmonex for their USPLs

Have you tried to flash another ROM to the phone and see if that gets it going again?
First of all thanks to you SuperSport and GRUPTNT for this
But for me, unfortunately, it doesn't works, i'm unable, when running Mtty116, to get the USB connection. I got Vista and i think it's the problem.
If somebody got an idea about it...

Please see this update.
Now, you can run MTTY in Windows Vista and Windows 7. I've made a Video Tutorial Showing how. It's Step 2b on this page:

my god, you worked late yesterday on this...
thanks for this and everything else, but again, i think that nothing is going to be easy for me...first, if i disconnect USB from mobile center, it's not in the computer management anymore...so i can't change the driver...next if i reconnect the USB connection, i can find it in the device manager but i can't change the driver because:
On my Vista home premium(32 bits operating system) : ''The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with windows for 32-bit systems.
and on my Win7(X64 Home Premium): it's the same message except for X64
BTW, it's not the first time that i tried to flash EOM from your signature and i can't go all the way to the process...don't know why, it did stop before the end...but i got the splash screen

Ok, I think I forgot to mention one step. Before you disconnect WMDC, be sure your phone is in Bootloader Tri-Color Screen Mode. (Also, before flashing any ROM, be sure to be in Bootloader Tri-Color Screen Mode. [Power/Camera/Reset]) Your Computer will Still be able to see the Phone in Device Manager after WMDC is Disabled.
I don't believe this will work on 64bit Windows. I tried and stopped after a couple failures.
I'm sorry your WLAN is not working still. That's not good and we will do our best to get you back to WiFi.
Looking at the Video again this morning, it does appear to go sort of fast. Hit Pause when needed to read the text pop-ups.
Next thing is I believe you may be selecting the wrong option when you browse for the driver. Be sure you are selecting the option: "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer". If you get a warning that the driver is not the correct driver, BUT you have the option to go ahead with the installation, go ahead and install it. It's a Windows XP Driver, so Win7 will not suggest installing it. But when it's all over, you will be removing it again and reinstalling the Win7 Driver.

That was FAST , good work! Happy to hear it worked for you.
Also, be sure to delete the XP driver from Device Manager, and re-scan the system to install the original driver. And then, re-activate your USB Connection in WMDC.

Did you use SSPL_TRIN.exe to enter Bootloader Mode before flashing? I think that is necessary for a full flash of OEM.

You would still need to use SSPL_TRIN.exe to put the phone into a special Bootloader Mode because the OEM ROMs overwrite the HardSPL on your phone. This special mode allows that to happen.
Copy SSPL_TRIN.exe & your TRINIMG.nbh to your phone's SD Card Root. From your phone's File Explorer program, browse to your SD Card and tap SSPL_TRIN.exe to run it. If asked, go ahead and say "Yes". This will enter a special Bootloader from which you can flash the OEM's.
Only use this method to flash Back to OEM ROMs and NOT for Normal Flashing. You want to use the HardSPL's Bootloader to flash Cooked ROMs to protect your phone.
Download SSPL_TRIN.exe
And, remember, after flashing an OEM ROM, be sure to flash a HardSPL back on your phone BEFORE Flashing Custom ROMs again.
Sorry everyone for getting off topic. kabtv, if you need more help with this, PM me, I'd be happy to help.

Hi,
I have moved to hd, so I didn't come to this forum since then...
I will try to explain a little better the HSPL and official roms.
First, there are several HSPL for trinity. The best one is olipro 1.30, so this th eone we want to get into the trinity.
First the theory, in a .nbh file we have several parts: ipl,radio,spl,splash,os,extrom In an official rom contains all parts, a custom ROM normaly nowdays contains os only. Whith older kitchens contains splash+os
The HSPL of olipro is protected so it is not overwrited by the roms. So it is safer, and you can't get a brick if you don't flash the ipl part.
The SPL is the tricolor program, so when flashing you should view the spl that you have in the trinity.
Whith the customruu of the trinity there is a file called enterbootloader.exe which is transmited to the pda and executed to display the spl. This file is SSPL_TRIN.exe renamed.
Ok, so this are the scenarios:
1) you launch the romupdate whith as/wmdc connected:
Enterbootloader is transmited and executed -> Special SPL 1.07
So when flashing you will flash every part of the nbh (all for oficial, os for custom)
2) you enter manually in boot loader
The SPL in your device -> olipro 1.30
So when flashing you will flash only (ipl,splash,os,ext)
The safer method is to put manually the bootloader mode and flash. You can have the HSPL whith an offical ROM whithout worries. Though there is an exception: you want to update the radio.
If you want to update the radio use method one so you run the other SPL.
