Have a look to german "PPC-Welt" forum - here we started a thread discussing how to lokalize and translate the V4.1 of tom.

Tom is going to make a list of files to translate and the ger forum will organize the activities. You are welcome - please help and support us.
When this "project" is succsessfull, we hope to do this very fast in the future - because we will have the experience and translated words and the os and apps are relatively static (only a few changes between the releases).

Only those ROMS are for the HTC Kaiser.

For Smartphone there aren't any German mui-files, which are necessary for translations. In fact, there aren't any other languages available, unless one of you is willing to get a resource editor and translates them. lol
That is very unpractical by the way, I started and then stopped after a while!

Just for future information, are mui files interchangeable? Can you take a ppc mui and use it on a smartphone?

I don't know. But I don't think so, because PPC interface looks different.

I need help. Yesterday I have installed the US-Version of Windows Mobile 6.1 on my XDA-Cosmo. Now ' can't write any sms in german with the keyboard.
Could I find here the german update for my Device?????

There is no German version for the Dash, however it maybe helpful to change the keyboard mapping so you can get the symbols you need (even if the OS is in English). Search the forum for more details about how to do this - many people have had exactly this problem, so help is availabe

any Chance for a german WM6.1?
well, i looked around here and found, here are several german users inside this forum, as well as many german roms for different smartphones. My question now: is there going to be anyone, who tries or tried modifying any wm6.1 for the s620 to german?

I'm assuming PTB is an abbreviation for Brazilian Portuguese. As with Spanish and just about every other language, the only way to get WM6.1 localized is to get it from your cellular carrier or the phone's manufacturer.
I'd suggest talking with rickwyatt to see if Windows Mobile is as easy to localize as more enlightened operating systems.

For now there is just a "generic" HTC rom for PTB.

Yeah, as far as I know (from what I've searched and asked) that's the current status, and there's no wm 6.1 version, only wm 6.0.

A while ago, Ricky started a thread of how to cook your own ROM. I was trying to translate Ricky's ROM to spanish but I had no luck. It took several hard resets to finally give up. I think (and sure it's applicable to all languages) that the translation has to do something with .mui files and folders. I got them from some ROM in spanish but then I had no idea of how to put them all in an installable ROM and finally working. I think it would be a great idea if we all try to come with some tutorial of how to do this. Any ideas will be welcome.

I dont speak russian and i cant get the X51v ROM by Football&mun_rus rom because when i click on it sends me the russian forum, which request registration info. I don't want 6.1 because it can not support the software i want. I need the X51v ROM with windows mobile aku 3.5.2. Please, please help me. Send it to me or tell me how to get it, everywhere i find it is a dead end link or a link to the russian forum. thank very much ahead of time.

i would like to ask if there any wm6.5 cook roms which support chinese fonts. coz i cannot find any cab that support chinese fonts and input.
