I use the Bluetooth connection between the HTC and the Parrot and it works just fine in my car…. As far as the phone hand-free functions are concerned.
When I installed TomTom (ver. 6) on the HTC I assumed that the voice of the navigator would also come out through the car speakers connected to the Parrot.
This is not happening! The phone conversations are going through the Parrot and INDEPENDENTLY the TomTom voice comes out of the HTC!
This creates quite a mess when I am driving (while TomTom navigates) and I get a phone call: TomTom keeps on talking over the phone conversation and most of the HTC screen is covered by the “incoming phone call” notification!
Moreover the ringtone of the HTC does not seem to work when connected to the Parrot and only a very feeble chime is there to signal an incoming call.
Does anyone have a solution to fix this inconvenient situation?
Thanks in advance for the insight!
I've got the same setup as you and have the TomTom voices coming out of the phone which has been the same with my previous phones such as the SPV C550 and he HTC wizard. I think it's down to the bluetooth stack implementation on the Windows Mobile phone. My mobile mutes TomTom when I am in a call and I get a flashing mute icon shown on the TomTom screen.
One thing to try is the Jetware bluetooth extension http://www.jetwaremobile.com/ which is designed to improve compatability with the Parrot systems. It will certainly help you get the correct ringtones through the speakers, though I'm not sure if it will help with TomTom voices.

Having installed TOMTOM6 on my HTC-3300 (t-Mob branded) I am looking for a way to route TOMTOM traffic messages thru my bluetooth carkit.
Obviously the phone calls go through fine, but afaik all the pda apps. sounds only run thru the mda's speaker.
Does anyone know a workaround or reg. tweak to do this?, I can't immagine I am the only one who would be looking for such functionality.....unless everybody else uses the gps function only 4 walking
Help much appreciated,
Frans
If your car kit supports the A2DP profile for Audio over Bluetooth and you select the option to use it all the audio from TomTom will be via the car kit, check what your car kit is capable of supporting - Mike

Thanks for the tips!
My Nokia carkit does not support A2DP, it's the old CK-7W type....
I will try the above attached btaudio once more. Previous attempts using this program were not succesful, I believe the bt hardware of the artemis was not recognized.
I remember that on my IPAQ 5550 I changed a registry setting, enabling audio over BT, but I could not find such an entry in the Artemis reg.
Keep you posted on progress, and thanks sofar!
Succes!
Just tried btaudio, attached by hotatomic, and it works!!!!
Haven't tried what happens if I get an incoming call yet, but the sound for TT6 is much better using the Nokia handsfree.
Thanks!!!
Hi guys,
I'm a newbie here, and was pointed to your excellent forum from one of the Mods over at pocketgpsworld.com.
I am running copilot 6 on an O2-registered xda Orbit, using a scala rider headset, on my motorbike, and i need to install btaudio.cab to mt xda in order for the insturctions to be relayed to my earpiece. My question is this - whereabouts to do i need to upload the file to on my xda (obviously somewhere in the copilot files, but i'm not sure where!!) and do i need to unpack it first?
Any help or tips gratefully recieved!!
Welsh Biker
No transfer the cab file directly to the orbit, (storage card is usually the best place to put them).
Then in file explorer, double click the .cab file to run it and it will install the application.
It's a separate application to Copilot.

Once again, many thanks indeed

i have a orbit and i installed the btaudio cab but unfortunately it doesnt work for me. do i need to change any other setting for it to work properly? i am using a motorola hs350 headset. i am trying to use it to listen to music on my headset instead of the internal speaker. i tested tomtom6 with it and that is still being heard on the speaker and not the headset. thanks
Connect the headset to the Artemis first, then run BTAudio, switch to "on" and then minimize don't exit the program.
Have you got software that closes apps by pressing the x button or something, so that you keep switching the app off when activating tomtom etc.
how silly of me, checked settings menu, connections menu everything except the program menu!!!
Thanks a lot mate
Hi,
I seem to be having the same problem as some of the other guys. The Bt software is installed on my Orbit, I pair the phone with my car then switch the software on. At this stage the TomTom voice stops coming from the phone but doesn't come through the handfree either. If I switch the software off again the sound returns to the phone.
Is this being caused by the format of the handfree kit in my car as mentioned on the first page of this post?? How would I positively confirm the format of my handsfree kit?
Cheers
Rob.
i try to install and it works, but when i turn on audio my radio goes in mute, is possible to send the sound only when tomtom talk?
Hi all
I also need help with audio features. Is there an app that will send all audio through the head phone socket (connected to autocom on motorbike) and phone calls through bluetooth have tryed the app in this tread but it wont split it only redirects all audio?
PS sorry for the high jack of your thread just seemed a good place to ask this.
Has anybody managed to successfully re-direct their Trinity BT audio to a non A2DP handsfree kit?
I have tried a couple of the cab's and registry hacks in other parts of the forum with no success.
Bluetooth handsfree works fine, for phone calls.
Main thing i want to do is got my voice command to use my handsfree mic, and not my phone mic....
Be nice to re-direct tomtom too, but that would just be a bonus really.
A2DP Hack
Just got this hack form my friend. & test it's OK on my Trinity... But, it's a bit tricky that only work in .mp3 format. .mwa same.
Ok, that did nothing for my phone.
Do you need to assign the application a button or something?
Hi,
I have the following problem:
I am using XDA Orbit 2 and a car-radio Maqma MQ-106BT. This radio offers Bluetooth-connection to my XDA. It supports the BT-headset (A2DP) and the handsfree profiles.
After pairing the car-radio is shown with both active profiles in the settings-screen of the XDA.
I want the car-radio to play the radio program and to give the TomTom-voice using the car-speakers. The system works very well for the phonefunktion. But if I start TomTom the radio sound stops and only the voice of TomTom is to be heard but nothing between the TomTom comments. It seems, as if TomTom uses the BT-headset Profile and thus the radio is always waiting for sound from the XDA.
Are there XDA-settings which would help me or is there a possibility to force TomTom to use the handsfree profile, thus only muting the radio if there are comments from the navigation?
I hope here are some experts who are able to help me!
Best regards from Luebeck
Micha
Hi,
I can't believe it: Not even one answer?
Is it really such a special task? I have thought that here in this forum there are only XDA-specialists???
Please, if there is someone who has an idea, please help!!!
Regards
Micha
Bump, I have a similar question in the Athena forum. Best guess I have is to mess with the registry to force the tomtom commands to not go through A2DP, but through HCP (phone signal) - that way priority is assured, but you may have to physically hang up the signal to get back to radio. At least the signal would start automatically....
As far as i know to allow the radio to be played in between tomtom voice commands you would need a fixed wired connection and also a car radio system that allows line in input to be switched on and off. The problem isnt the PDA the problem is the radio system in the car.

i have the same issue with the tytn2, i cant get my tomtom sound over my radio.
I'd appreciate it if anyone could help!
fwiw, I am still searching the forum for a solution. I have found some old bluetooth posts, that may hold the key:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281977
in particular, message #2 of thread, concerning BTAudioNav hack:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1046077&postcount=2
Some of this info is dated, so I haven't tried anything yet, and as the posts indicate, it takes 2 to tango. The WM6 device may be doing everything right, but the equipment you are pairing to may not be able to be configured correctly....
Update, BTAudioNav is not working, I assume that it is for PocketPC and I am running WM6
?!? Tomtom commands
[email protected]
I have the same problem.
Phone: HTC tytn2
Bury Wired Handfree
Perfect Sound Quality for Calls but: No system Sound, no TomTom Sound.
Yesterday i drive on the Highway, Tomtom was on and a call was incoming but the tytn2 was rebooting by him self .... AND NOW IT WORKS !
I hear all tomtom commands! I don't no why but it works!!!
Update, it seems that tomtom goes over the a2dp signal and not the handsfree profile.
If it was handsfree profile, it would cut into the car stereo music. A2dp doesn't have priority though with most car stereos.
Had I known this, I wouldn't of purchased tomtom....
Hi,
I am looking for a way to stream audio from the Touch HD to my Car. Unfortunately the cars built-in audio system doesn't support bluetooth. But there is that handsfree-thing, which works really great with calls. So I wondered, if there is a software solution that streams my music from the phone as "incoming call" to my car?
I've tried "acbToggleBT" and "BTASP" and both didn't work in the Car, but they did work with a bluetooth headset.
It would be really great if somebody knows, finds, posts, programs or has an solution.
Thanks in advance!

I can't remember but there was an option to route normal audio to the bluetooth handset in my HP iPAQ which is missing from HD.
Believe me music streaming to HSF device will be as good as listening to AM radio on poor reception. Go get a bluetooth A2DP profile audio headunit like Sony - MEX-BT2500 (this is the one I use and works like a charm).
Thanks for your reply.
Perhaps I took the wrong words to explain what I am looking for.
The thing I want is a piece of software that "imitates" an incoming call and sends the audio from S2P to the handsfree of my car.
Maybe this explanation is a bit better...?
[edit]
have you tried BT Audio
it's a paid app
acbToggleBT always worked for me
try this
There are 3 apps
btaudio on
btaudio off
bttoogle (on/off)

Excellent. I can get this to work via bluetooth headset.
Unfortunatley this didn't work in my car (which is what I believe the OP wants).

All i can say is this based on using it on my HD with WM 6.1 & 6.5 (Dutty ROM):
Once you install the program and then execute it (Press On):
It will transfer all Music & Audio from Movies (Core Player) etc. to my BT Nokia Headset or my BT Car Speakerphone (Motorola T305), i do not have a Radio BT set so i can't tell you, you'll just have to try.
This Cab solved my problem as the basic BT HD ROM sertting only transfers the Phone audio while this little cab transfers ALL audio, so i would presume that it may help you with your BT radio, you can always uninstall the cab if it doesn't work for you.
There is NO emulation invloved here!!??
Good luck!
Hi Ausi, tried on my Nokia BT car handsfree but no joy
The handsfree only accepts an incoming call as stated above so some sort of emulation may be needed. Would be happy if someone knew about something...

Funny... my HD does the reverse. I get de BT audio but on the BT phone I got nothing but static...
I've got a Sony Xplod bluetooth radio in my car.
When I start up it automatically connects to my HD, however it only connects as handsfree rather than both handsfree and BT stereo.
I have to go into comms manager and bluetooth settings, then select and hold on the xplod in the device list.
A menu comes up asking what I'd like to connect as, and I pick stereo, then repeat for handsfree.
Give that a go. Holding on the device to bring up the menu gives you the BT profiles the device is capable of, so with a bit of luck stereo/headphones will be an option for you.
