Hi, I had this phone for awhile and no matter what rom is use. it hard resets on its own.
it happens every 2 - 3 months. I always flash a stock rom before i use a custom one and remove all the cards.
so what could be my problem?
thanks.

Touch wood I am yet to experience a hard reset following this order down to the T
try cleaning the contacts on the battery and phone with an eraser(preferably white).

Hahah, well.. it depends where your letting your mind drift to!
I don't think that knocking, kicking or touching wood will help .
It's strange, never had the problem, but offcourse, I flash new ROMs a bit often than few months (sometimes, 2-3 times a week ).

A lot of development been going since then! He's not coming back! so try another rom, as much as I loved his ...
I had this problem
I had this problem after upgrading to TNT .19199 (which I think but am not 100% sure, is WM6.1)
My phone **** itself at least 20 times in 2 weeks before I went back to TNT.1921(which I think but am not 100% sure, is WM6.0).
That was 3 months ago and it hasn't happened since

I've seen other people posting about how they're at 4.2, on AT&T. It's not in the card for me though. I try OTA, and Kies daily, nothing. Googled it, nothing. Searched here, nothing. What the hell!

Is this a serious post? You realize there is no "Official" 4.1.2 from Samsung right?
the 4.2s are custom roms

Yes, Sammy is adding what they are calling "Premium Suite," but no idea when that will be released. Just keep an eye on Android blogs and here on XDA and you'll have it as soon as it's available.
Thanks man

actually
when i was using 4.1.1 stock, the battery was pretty good, just turn off gps and autosync and it'd last ~2 days without use much beside talk, text
and sorry to disappoint you, due to our U.S S3 only has duo core, there won't be any "Multi windows"
but there are roms out there that has it, that's if you have your phone rooted
and if your phone is rooted, there are also a lot of roms out there have a really good battery life.

Oh and if you look around the Dev Thread, there are some ROMs that are ports of Note 2 ROMs that have Multi-Window built in. Give them a try.

I'm gonna have to look into rooting then. I have pretty good battery life, but could always be better, especially if I get some added perks.
has anybody asked the dev of safestrap, or even tried it out yet? the locked bootloader is the next big problem, i assume. and as far as i get it the "fire os" is the same on "fire"-devices.

JCASE demonstrated booting unsigned code from USB... so we dont NEED to unlock the bootloader although it would be nice.
What we really need is a custom recovery and a way to boot it.. perhaps JCASE will chime in now that the root is out..
last i saw his signature says he is away for an undetermined amount of time :crying:

lol his sig has said that for an undetermined amount of time
May be we can write custom recovery using dd an then boot it?
I would think anyone that is willing to test unknown methods either has money to burn or a hardware flasher.
Just checked safestrap, no luck.
May be we can port loki. Platform looks similar for me, but offsets is different.

Looks like a few people have been looking into this, but haven't seen much activity recently. Just chiming in to see if there have been any advances on this front? Either progress, or a determination that it's too difficult at this point?

So I was thinking about 2nd-init and getting SafeStrap working. I need to keep looking and figure out the best place to start the 2nd-init.

Thanks for answering Happy to hear that people are still trying this. I'm wondering, once Android TV is released, the hardware on this device seems to be pretty powerful and it might be a great experience, if we can figure out how to get it on there.
Good luck, rbox! And thx for the xposed mods
Just be aware that the first thing that will stop working with an unlocked bootloader will be Netflix HD. I don't have Prime so can't comment on that.
You will be limited to 720x480 resolution - 1750kbps.

I was able to find the best spot to do the 2nd init, and it seemed to be working, but unfortunately I'm having some problems getting TWRP to actually display even though I'm doing exactly the same thing I did with clockwork. Luckily it's a long weekend, so I should have some time to debug it.

Summer only has a couple of weeks left... I also hope we can crack the bootloafer or at least get boot strap or something similar working, but I am not going to hold my breath. I AM very happy with how well it is working though, especially as an xbmc/kodi box! Hope we can get the mic button working in kodi.
I've had my Nexus 7 2013 for a year and a half, and two months ago I sarted noticing it sometimes gets really slow, and just today it couldn't even open some apps like Clean Master. I let some time pass and it's working more or less quickly right now, but it happens every day. Any idea what could be causing this?
I got a little bit scared it's a hardware problem ever since I saw this article: http://tinyurl.com/k2835rd

I'm using CleanROM 6.0 (Android 5.1.1) and stock kernel. I was previously using a kernel and the same still happened.
Anyways, if you didn't see it was on "My Devices" part in my signature
I'm also using TWRP if that's of any use.

Try using elementalX for Aosp and see if that helps.
If it doesnot, i suggest to try CM based rom.
