This extracted CAB install is from the recently released HTC AKU 3 Official Update Released ROM 2.11.255 WWE. It adds WPA2 functionality (and possibly other things - not sure yet). I've installed this to the Windows Mobile VI - Black Edition v1.1 and seemed to go smoothly. I can't test whether WPA2 works yet as I need to be at work to do this.

WPA2 with AES
Yes - seems to have AES encryption.
This also works fine with the old HTC WWE WM5 2.05 ROM (AKU 3.3). Installed, soft resetted, WPA2 on WM5. Thanks for extracting, drddrd!

What do you mean with HTC 2.06? Is that Aku 2.3, 2.6 or 3.x? The only reason I would upgrade to this aku 3.3 or WM6 with this patch is WPA-AES. I've still got a very old O2 Germany Rom (Aku 2.3) on my phone. If I could just use this cab to get WPA-AES, I would wait another few weeks until WM6 is really stable.
What happened when you say it doesn't work with your ROM? Was the WiFi part as a whole not usable any more or was it just like before without AES?

Thanks chenga. That's what I feared. I read somewhere, that AES is only possible with Aku 2.6 and newer. The Cab doen't seem to change anything regarding that restriction of Aku 2.3.
Means for me: Being brave and flashing my hermes for the first time with a cooked ROM... ;-)

You dont have to use a cooked ROM. You could go for the new Leaf Wireless AKU 3.3 release. To be honest though i would go for a WM6 release if you are gonna flash. Seems (for me) to be just as stable or better than official releases.

Great news...
On WM5 (the one that comes standard on the HTC TyTN, AKU 2.x), it doesn't add WPA2 though.
It did add AES to the already present WPA though.
Well, at least I now have found my first solid reason to upgrade.

Hi there,
Since Crossbow is running perfectly on my Universal, I wanted to give another model a try, so anyone ever succeeded in having the iPAQ hx4700 running Crossbow?
I know it might be a bit dangerous, but I already tried to put the hx4700 in the bootloader and to flash a HTC Universal Crossbow ROM.
It actually starts upgrading, but after a few %'s the screen turns blank and with a soft reset the device will restart.
Something to forget or is there a way?
i m currently doing some rom cooking for my 4700...

Is this a ROM for the hx4700?
If it isn't this is no new leaked ROM. It's one of the first WM6 ROM's for the HTC Universal. Many other have already been released after this one.

Any progress made on a Crossbow ROM for hx4700?
I'm really interested on some new ROM for the hx4700. It has not been beaten yet in terms of speed and screen size! Why not WM6 on it??
I already found a few ROM's, but i'm hoping too, that the hx4700 community will pick this up as well as the HTC one ...

I hope somebody does get a WM6 rom working for the hx4700. It's time for a step up from the unstable modded WM5s with a pretty WM6 theme.
OK gang, anyone working to get BlackBerry connect with the new ROM releases? I wish I didn't have to use BBC, but my company doesn't give me a choice....
I am using ROM 3.30.2.1 with 4.0.0.67 now and it works well....

It should, but don't trust me, search here and in the WIKI. I am using LVSW 3.30.2.1 with 4.0.0.67 BBC. LVSW is up to 3.30.3.3, AFAIK, .67 is the latest version of the BBC. You'll see references to a .76 but I think someone transposed the numbers. I think that the LVSW, if you follow the thread and find the BBC connect mod, should work OK. There are people here that are much more knowledgeable than me.

I've searched and I see bits and pieces, but no definitive answer for which ROM/WM6 releases work for BBConnect 4.0.0.67 (which is the latest, and most widley referred to version).
I.e., I've heard that hex editing was req'd to get the cooked WM6 ROMs to work with BBConnect, but what setting/value needed to be edited to what number?
I'm using Black Shadow IV, which I think is NOT compatible with BBC 4.0.0.67. I like my current config. I'm not willing to reflash unless I know its necessary to do so. If I can just hex edit something, I'll try that. If I fukk it up, then I'll reflash.

I went back to Pro BLACK 3.0.1 with BB Connect 4.0.0.67 after trying the new WM6 builds that were popping out like AT&T, vp3G, Schaps.
I will give the registry hack a try this weekend...

I just solved the problem
if this ROM's wzcsvc.dll (dis-assemble from ROM image) needs and includes custsat.dll file, then you could connect to WPA-PSK/TKIP

Is there any way to remove services such as

uptimesqm.exe
ciphase2.exe?
Every time I delete them from the registry they come back.

I have frustrated of trying all the roms. Manila 3D, touch Flo.... etc...
All of them have some bugs and need to resolve.
Like today, when I need the GPS thing to be functioning and guess wat, in the end i paid the taxi driver for the route.

If you have hard-spl you need anything else but download the official rom from HTC to have the WM5
Official WM6.1 for trinity does not exist...only here in XDA.
try the Roms made by tnyynt to get all you need from your trinity... they are fast and stable...they are a bit old but i still use them since i don't like manilla aswell.
Nope, there was official wm6.0 rom update for dopod d810. Try this.

from my personal experience it drains a hell lot of battery than wm5.0 official rom only thing i miss are office 6.1 and gps functions. i wish there was a way i can install office 6.1 on wm5.0, i downloaded the office mobile cab files for trinity but they don't work when i install they show unknown icons and dont open when i click on them.

I have to flash the rom anyway (there are some strange things happening to my device, I fear it is hijacked). Since I am only an interested end user, not so much interested in testing - I would like to know whether I should use one of the latest WM6.5 or a stable WM6.1 rom. I already have a 6.1 rom, but a quite early one ([english ROM LVSW_Trinity_WM6_v2.0.1.1 (2007-05-27)]) and thus not so reliable.
The first issue, however is, since I own a P3600 (400 MHz only) with ROM: 128 MB and RAM: 64 MB SDRA only, whether WM 6.5 would ever run stable on this device. Does anyone have a well founded opinion on this issue?
Anyway, what would be the most stable version?
From my side, no language preference, English would be as fine as German.

Chanvi 's one are good ROM(s) .. On my opinion, i prefer the 6.1 rom with manila 2D more usable than 6.5 with CHome ...

This one is more stable, then Chanvi's, from my opinion, i had much more bugs using different builds from chanvi's, even in different customisations.
Savesaint's has it's own bugs, and i can't customise it (because it's not a kitchen), but i prefer using that one.
But 3600's wm5 doesn't look like this one

I use from 3 month now and i have no problem with FInixNOver 3.7.2 light, before i use FInixNOver 3.7.2 manilla and it work very good.I was change it becose in manilla i have 12 mb free memory and igo stops sometimes.
this is another vote for the FInixNOver 3.7.2 light rom, for stability you cant get anything better than this ... i've tried a lot of roms and have allways gone back to this one.
I've tried all the 6.5 version roms and to be honest mate ... dont go there, they all have their issues.

I have been testing for a while now some 6.5 Roms. From my experience they have bugs, not all the programs can't work on 6.5, etc...
But I am confident since the savesaint 815 that we are going to have a very stable Rom soon. From my experience this was the best in 6.5 roms.
The few bugs that the rom have are solve by now.
Must wait developments... until Stable!

I agree, things got to get done. WM 6.5 it's not final version yet. Still in development from Microsoft... so got to wait a bit more so that we can really talk about a stable ROM.
Until there, with minor or sometimes a bit major bugs, the latest Builds are working better...

installed the rom and after playing with it for a while, i must say that this rom is very good. quick and stable. so i think i stick with this rom for a while.
wm 6.5 is cool, but it soo slow with newer releases, so that i cant use it anymore.

first i was very happy with wm6.5 (first releases). But the more wm6.5 goes further, it's soo slow and the response time is very long (i use spb mobile shell).
I never had problems with tomtom, but with the last wm6.5 releases tomtom runs so slow

Guys i also vote for FInixNOver 3.7.2 manilla 2d rom. but i find a problem with it. the thing is i cannot find the fm radio program on the rom i searched every where, program files all the folders in it but couldnt find and i even tried to search and ask in the rom authors thread even but no reply yet. i would really like to have it. is there a cab somewhere i could use? thanks for help really appreciate this site.

If you are looking for stability, I definitely recommend trying Tomme45i's latest ROM series:
[ROM+KITCHEN][WWE][26.08.09]WM 6.1.21054 + 6.5.23017 Classic
He has stripped away the fancier elements of 6.5 (so personal preference will play a part in deciding if it is the ROM for you) but it's incredibly stable, has excellent memory handling and suffers from no memory leaks.
It is probably the last of his Trinity ROMS, so well worth checking out.
