Hi folks,
I just wanted to ask if somebody could get WPA2 to work with XDA Live 0.2 ?
I can't even find the neeeded settings-entries.
Just wondering because in AKU 3.3 WPA2 should be implemented already, or isn't it ?
Best regards,
soniX
would love to know this too.. . been hanging out for WPA2 for months now. one of the AKU3.3 roms did have WPA2 (swedish i think) but havent seen it intialised in any other rom since though... sucks.
also... this was an addition in the AKU3.3 update in the HTC 2.05 ROM...
anyone have answers???
Many ROMs for other devices with WPA2
I just did a search for informations on WM6 and WPA2.
And i found some intresting facts:
http://www.ppc-phones.de/punforum/viewtopic.php?pid=34769 says that a WM6 ROM on an XDA Neo seems to work with WPA2.
Another fact is that WM6 is an advantage of WM5, so why is there no WPA2 in WM6, when it's reported to be release in an AKU (3.0).
Is there anybody who can confirm or falsify that there is WPA2 available for Crossbow ?
regards,
sonix

Hi all
I would like to known the more simple and shure way to make BBconnect 4 up and running with WM6.
My TYTN running actualy the Schap's ROM version 3.57a.
please HELP ME.
HTC TYTN
ROM Schap's 3.57a
radio 1.48.00.00
Protocol 32.81.70.20.20W
CE OS 5.2.1437 (Build 17944.0.3.1)
Ask Schap nicely to hex edit his Rom so it works with BB Connect.......otherwise use Slueth's Rom which already works with BB Connect.
I've been quite happy using Slueth's Rom and have no complaints!

vp3G and Sleuth both have BBC version. I can post links for Schap and Black Satin tonight. But if you are comfortable with entry level hacking - it is a trivial job to make any ROM based on latest official ATT or Dopod releases to be compatible with BBC on Hermes. There was a lot of discussions and questions answered here on this subject last few days if you'll desire to know more and "Howto". Regards

Hi Khristopher
I too am trying to get Blackberry working reliably on my xda Trion. I'm running Custels WM6 2.5 ROM thats blackberry enabled, along with 2.x.x.54 blackberry client for the Trion and the 1.41 radio
Problem I have is that when I invoke flight mode and then switch radio back on, my blackberry app is off line and I cannot get it to reconnect without first disablling it, then doing a soft reset, then relaunching blackberry. It then repairs the settings and goes on to connect and its back up and running All a bit of a pain! I tried the 4.x.x. client, but it has the security feature set on the server such that after 10 mins inactive, it locks the screen and needs a password to unlock the device.
Are you having similar problems with the sleth ROM? If not, could you post the rest of your ROM/RADIO/BB Client config? If you are using the 4.x.x BB client, have you found a way of disabling the device lock?
Many thanks
Chris

Custel ... that's I'd say 2-3 major updates step back. I haven't tested Custel's ROMs, but correct me if I'm wrong it is a LVSW or Black 3.01 derivative. Neither one had any issues with BBC re-connecting. As a matter of fact, from my personal experience, BBC will make *any* connection drop in a blink of an eye and will happily monopolize your data connection, making it almost impossible to have automated POP, RSS or Podcasts collections. I'd say your first step should be backup, hard reset and restore if you are keen to the existing ROM. Then I'd say you want to update to the latest distro and radio. Hope this helps.

Hi Moisha
Many thanks for this, very helpful. I'm not wedded to the ROM by any means, so would happily change to a combo that kept a reliable connection. By 'the latest distro', do you mean one of the WM6 ROMs or release of the BB client? I see you are using the 1.48 radio.. What would be your recco for a BB compatible ROM and radio. Not sure I want to get into hex editing at the moment, so would like to use one one the 'off the (xdadevelopers) shelf' ROMs if poss...?
Thanks much in advance
Regards

Have just updated to the O2 WM6 ROM.
Installed the SPB GPRSMonitor which came with the Orbit and worked fine under WM5, but it will not monitor or control the GPRS under WM6
Anyone else noticed this and/or found a workaround?
I have 10Mb data with my tariff, but am mindful at £3 per meg after that, I really do use SPB to ensure I don't stray over my inclusive.
Spooky , Efficasoft worked on WM5 but doesn't seem to monitor under WM6 properly as well.
I've just put on the Efficasoft GPRS Monitor (V1.2) and that didn't work. So, as suggested on their site, I put on V1.11w which works OK and actually I think I prefer to SPB (though you cannot get the day-by-day charts for useage).
Looking at the SPB site, it doesn't show as compatible with WM6. Hope they bring out a patch soon....
The version of GPRS Monitor that shipped with the original Orbit ROM will not work with WM6. There is an updated version which should be on the O2 web site soon. I will post a copy to Rapidshare when i get home tonight.
Cheers
LB
Thanks for the heads up everyone.
The community strikes again.
There is a beta of the SPB GPRS Monitor from the SPB Club forums which I installed and it broke my WiFi. DO NOT INSTALL!!!!!
Just installed v1.11w and it's doing exactly what it says on the tin.
Thanks for that

Once again many thanks.

Hi all, just thought I would put an update out on this.
I have just received an email back from o2 data support. They have just sent me a new version of the GPRS monitor application that should work with WM6. They tell me they will in time be releasing this as part of the XDA microsite. If you email them ([email protected]) though I am sure they will forward a copy of the application onto you too.
Hope this helps

Hi all...
Just upgraded from the Blue Angel to The Artemis so im new to this part of the forum but not to the site. So What do i need on my Artemis to make it UUBBER funky and Whats the Latest (BEST) Rom & Radio updates about at the moment Thanks in advance anything else i need to know would be great....
meschle's ROMs are fast and reliable... I have been using Artemis Touch 3.01 with no problems at all for the past couple of months which had the update to 3.07.90 GSM Radio and SDHC support included. I think he is working on version 4 now, so you might want to wait a bit.
As for software; who knows? Quickmenu, opera mini, s2u2, VJtodaytoggle, google maps, tomtom are some examples of what I have on mine.
Cheers Jay,
nice to get a reply at last cheers mate i have the B&B Rom its lurvley also using the ultimateLaunch software looks Verry Funkay just had parrot mk6100 carkit installed so i can play Bluetoth Music ROCK ON
Hi,
I am big fan of Meshle's ROMs.
Only one thing. I am using BlackBerry Connect to have my corporate emails and the only way I found how to have it running fine was to downgrade to Meschle's ROM 3.01 with WM5.
I am missing a few WM6 functionalities and was wondering if any of you are in the same situation?
Any New ROMs will be cooked with WM5?
Is anyone working on a ROM containing BlackBerry Connect?
I don't know about BB Connect, but I seriously doubt anyone will release a new ROM with WM5. To put it in the mildest way I can, WM5 is UTTER CRAP compared to WM6 (which is not brilliant, itself). I'm not speaking about features but mere phone usability and stability.
I find it more likely that BB Connect will be included in some future WM6.1 ROM, but I don't know if anyone's working on it.
agree
Thanks for reply.
Yeah I agree... much less stable without talking about extra features...
So I will be either looking at future releases of BB Connect which will be working on WM6 or ROMs including BB Connect.
Hello all, I'm new here.
Sorry for my English, it's not my native language...
I hope, also, it's the right section of the forum.
I searched this forum for some information if there is any possibility to
make my FujitsuSiemens PocketLoox N560 PocketPC to work in WPA2/AES
wireless networks.
I didn't find any clear, usable, information, even at least if it is or it is not
possible. It might be possible I didn't searched enough?
All the wireless networks I'm working with have this set-up (WPA2/AES)
and this facility would transform for me the PDA from a funny toy to
a really useful tool.
The three N560s we are using are running the original WM5 operating system.
If there is a solution to make those PDAs to work this way (wireless
WPA2/AES), I'd like to know. Also, I'd like to know if it's really impossible
(hardware reasons, etc.).
If there is a solution and I have to, I'll upgrade them to WM6.x, but I'd
prefer not to (for various reasons, not to be discussed now).
Thank you in advance for any answer!

Did you solve your problem? If not, try installing Odyssey Access Client for Windows Mobile (there is an 30day evaluation version on the web) - I think this is the only way. This software gives the possibility to check the AES option no matter what version of WM are you on. As far as I am informed FS LOOX N560 doesn't support AES, it's TKIP only... It is the kind of hardware issue rather than software one. Tell me if that helped.
WPA2 is not supported on WM6 either.
I and many others are using Newplow's WM6.0. Google for his site in Russia. Use the language translation in Google to get your own language. He is working on WM6.1 but neither upgrade supports WPA2.
And do remember the WM6 upgrades are done by enthusiasts not the original manufacturer so if you ask nicely they might include it in a future release, but there is not gurantee they will respond to your request.

Hi there,
As I'm running Newplow's latest WM6.1 on my RPDA N560, which is technically a Loox N560, I can confirm that WPA2 is possible with the Loox N560 and the above mentioned ROM.
Best regards
