Amidst all the furore about the availability of 3 similar crossbow roms for the Universal, I have become increasingly amused by the number of comments from various people in the various threads, complaining about certain things not working, which sometimes work for others and then qualifying their complaints by saying that it is critical that the failing apps work on their devices and are desperate for help....
At the end of the day, if any of your apps are that critical then you shouldn't be upgrading - particularly to Crossbow, as it is very much in its infancy at the moment. I have no doubt that within a short while, the various Rom magicians here will have a number of alternatives available that are 'relatively' stable but anyone who depends on the functions of their Uni to the degree where they cannot survive without them should leave well alone....
Just my opinion
I entirely agree.
Guys, the WM6 roms should not be used.
If you happen to use it, backup first, bolt your windows, and suck it up if you loose your device, your data, or your innocence.
You will of course screw your warranty and a puppy will die. C'est la vie.

I agree with you, it was the same situation back in the days when WM5 popped out
How true! By upgrading to WM6, you implicitely accept any shortcomings, bugs, missing functionality etc. Period.
(We should stick something along this line in a large fontsize on both the frontpage and the forum frontend. Maybe even in blinking red
Can I downgrade to WinCE 2.11 and get a version of active sync that will work on Windows for Workgroups 3.11 please?
Just want to make sure I am using something well established with all of the fixes, and years of background knowledge available for it
Oh, and I will need a serial to USB adapter so I can sync hehe.
Well, there are a lot of people around who want to upgrade to WM6 despite the fact that they have no idea what they're doing. If the average user sees an upgrade to a "New OS" they're probably more likely to give it a go than they would if it was just an upgrade for a bugfix or a re-arranged contacts database (rightly or wrongly).
The intelligent ones will do a bit of reading before deciding whether to even attempt the upgrade. But there will always be some who get themselves in a mess because they've rushed into it.
Fortunately, everything they need to know to get themselves out of their mess is on this forum somewhere - Unfortunately it seems many can't even be bothered to search - so the same old quetions are bound to be asked a hundred times over the next couple of weeks...Still, we all try to be helpful, don't we? (Even if it does get tedious at times!).
lol, no, it bugs the hell out of me, hence the reason I posted this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=290234
I was a n00b once, I don't think I posted any lame questions, maybe some, I can't be bothered to go back and look, but from memory, it was only after I couldn't find it with the search that I asked somewhere.
I don't have anything critical I just have to run. Sure, there's software I have bought, and would be irritated if it didn't work immediately after an upgrade, but I am happy to take the risk, I have a Univeral and a Wizard, so I can always use the other if I have problems on one.
It's like this on anything though, something new comes out, everyone thinks they are an instant expert, messes it all up, and then begs for help because they were too lazy and stupid to read a few pages that would have explained it all to them.
Help, I just flashed my Universal to WM7 (Photon) that I downloaded from your website, and now it does not come past the bootscreen anymore ... I need my machine yesterday because my life depends on it, and I did not make a backup and now Microsoft has caused me to ruin my machine causing me to go out of business and you have to help me since I got the rom update from your website!!
(hehehehehe)
Well if you can get to the boot screen, all is not lost.
Get some superglue, and put a few drops into the USB socket.
Plug it in, and give it at least an hour to dry.
Now carefeully hold your device in one hand, and the cable in the other.
Now pull the cable out as fast as you can.
This shold prevent any further upgrading issues, or problems from ever happening to your device again.
Partially I agree, but i mean normal (lame) user who wants to upgrade only to show his palls couple of different # on boot screen. but i think helmi, ivan, indra or all else would never do good, working rom (like ivans aku 3.2, helmi 3.5), which are stable w/o feedback.
worst is here is helluva lot of people with prob."i tried 2 upgr. 2 wm6 & got COUNTRY ID err)
I love wm6 http email function. And somebody get the wm6 messenging in wm5?any hacks?
My mate sent me this, just some info that most people Know.
Testers of Windows Mobile Codenamed Crossbow (or Windows Mobile 6.0) have leaked at least 2 versions of the pre-release online,
According to our source betacollector the pre-release is incomplete, missing a few functions but working fine.
No Windows start orb here, that seems to be cropping up on everywhere on Microsoft software now, but then again WM6 is not yet final -who knows if that will be included in the final release.
The leaked version specs: WM6PreRelease.rar (54177kb) Build date 1/12/2006 (15341.4.2.0) Rom 2.00.02.pv / External Rom 2.02 PDAVIET
Theres also a second one WM6CB.rar weighing in at 59608kb for the MDA Pro / Universal or qtec 9000 that one is older than the above mentioned leak.

Hahahahaha!!
Don't try this at home!!
I did an upgrade to WM6 on a fairly new 9000. Took me almost 6 hours to complete. The damn thing got stuck in the bootloader, lost my RADIo ROM, got it "bricked", managed to un-brick it again, lost my EXT. ROM, but at the end, it worked out and now the "damn thing" works fine on a brand new WM6 ROM. Exept for video calling and a few minor bugs I have no complains.....
Moral of the story. I am a man. Men like to do technical stuff. If you do not know what you are doing, stay off the damn thing. If you like to inflict pain on your self, but know what you are doing, just do.
Fooling around with some new gagets is cool. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't........
In my case, it worked out. Me is happy.........

i just have to ask this question...
I have my MDA-Pro for about 2 months now and have installed two O2 roms (I'm at present running 1.13.82 WWE from 02).
but i'm just not convinced. i'd love to love love my Universal (I am a self confessed gadget person who just HAS to have the newest thing!). it's just not 'doing it' for me yet.
UMTS (i am with the german provider e-plus) is not spectacular, the phone is ok, but i get mixed opinions as to my calls with my bluetooth headset...(jabra BT800).
Also, the device just doesn't feel snappy. it has a fast processor and i have really not many programs installed (the basics: pocket informant, resco explorer, pocket mechanic, skype & ozVGA - although i don't always run in VGA).
for navigation i own a mio168 with TomTom 5. This device feels quicker than my Universal.
am i doing something wrong? can i do something right?
i appreciate your help and comments.
Hi effjay,
just for one subject of your message.
I use a BT800 as well and have the same result using it (not even UMTS, just GSM). My experience is that if the actual available memory is too small, the BT gets bad quality. A soft-reset and I am confirmed to be totally clear again.
Your question I would answer with : "not yet" meaning I am convinced that one or two updates (which still have to come) and I will be happy.

NO :x :?
i don't know why i do it!
i purchased a HP6315 when they first came out (i was lucky to be holidaying in singapore at that time!), and i sold it again quite quickly as i was not happy with the performance.
i guess i should have learned from that lesson. i was (am?) really hoping that the universal will be the thing it should be, but it just isn't. it's unreliable.
things that worked fine yesterday (i.e. voice dialling with my jabra BT800) for whatever reason decided to not work today. i had to reset and then everything was fine. this is not acceptable and it's so annoying.
so i guess (after my moaning!) all i'm trying to say is that i hope that someone, somewhere can finally deliver a ROM that is stable, is economic with memory and that just does what it's supposed to!
stranger things have happened...haven't they?!

Not really.
I love the screen, I love the keyboard, but it's soooo slow. I would love to see a HTC Universe with PalmOS Or Windows Mobile 2003. My Old MDA III (Blue Angel) is MUCH faster. And it has only 400MHz (or 420?)
Am I happy?.
no at all.
i hate this machine specially with my Arabic langauge.
no way to buy again...
I hate this device!
I spent a lot of money on this brick! It simply doesn't work! (T-Mobile Pro!)
1.) EVERY morning it has hang up! seems to happen on recieving a mail or sms.
2.) When you open it and put it like a Laptop on your desc you cannot tap on the screen without tipping it. It will fall on its back!
You have to use your second hand! (SIC!) Even then!
3.) T-Mobile branding is so annoying that I sometimes get angry just by looking at it! Startscreen (morning booting)
4.) I'm using a DELL X50v and a Compact, a XDA III and a QTec 8310.
Each of this devices is at least 2 times faster (Even with switched off Error Handling) Its unbelievable SLOW!
5.) Roaming does not work well. When I travel by train or car, my colleages can phone for hours without any troubles. My sh*** Pro does just hang up or disconnect every 5-10 minutes.
6.) Finaly - this device seems to be unhackable (there is still no SIM-Unlocker) This may make T-Mobile happy, but not me as a customer.
There are about 25 further problems. If anyone would like to see them, just tell me!
This device is NOT for professional use!

I totally agree.
This is a nice, first generation beta childplay.
This is something the same when Frank Zappa published one album which was totally empty.
I bought mine purely for experimental purposes, I have no real need for a PDA! As such I think it's great.
I'm not convinced as a phone and will be getting a second, much smaller handset. I wouldn't like to rely on this device on a professional level. I find the battery life very poor and it once lost all my contacts. They came back after a soft reset, but I wasn't happy to have to wait over 5 mins to make a call.
Once the teething problems have been sorted out, I'm sure it will be a fantastic device. It has the potential to be great! I fear however, that by the time the problems are sorted out, there will be better, faster, smaller, more reliable devices available.
Sank5
nope!
its slow and seemingly buggy, i would like someone to do a backup on their phone that works properly then post that to see if it makes a difference... we could end up with a workable model after all..
o2 exec
I love my exec! I wouldn't change it for the world! Of course it is going to have teething troubles, but these are being sorted, both by software updates and the great people on this forum! The size issue is irrelevant, we all knew it was going to be big, and as people have already explained on this forum elsewhere the vga screen is the main reason it is a bit slow.
Just my two cents!
Fin
I absolutely loved it when I first got it. But I'm getting more and more frustrated with it.
1) The goddamn alarms just refuse to work half the time. I never know if it will work in the morning or if it won't wake me up. I spent 1,200 US and it doesn't even work as an alarm clock!
2) The device is really slow.
3) The ActiveSync in incredibly unreliable: sometimes it just stops syncing for no apparent reason at all. Everything worked the night before but it doesn't the very next morning. What the...?! Now, all of a sudden it starts asking me for an Exchange password. Why? I didn't do anything differently!
4) The POP mail account just disappears sometimes.
5) The phone is so difficult to answer - you press the button and nothing happens - the thing just freezes and I have to call people back.
6) Some programs just disappear from the Settings menu and reappear later after a few soft resets.
It's annoying that the thing is so frustrating - it's such a great concept! But the only way it work in an acceptable manner is if it doesn't have any programs installed - right after a hard reset, but if that's the case, there's no point in this "micro laptop" if you can't install programs.
VERY HAPPY.
Doesn't feel faster than my old JAM, but it's got 4 times the pixels to shift. A good memory manager and never switching it off allows it to remain zippy-ish though.
Wifi is rock solid, bluetooth works a treat, but I use that less at the moment, activesync sucks balls, but that's an MS problem, 3G/GPRS/AS/Wifi switching works flawlessy, screen rotation works great, WM5.0 isn't compatible with all my fave progs yet, but give it time, battery life is good, as long as I don't use a lot of wifi without a charger (suits me) , screen is great, keyboard is great...
Loving it so far.
Universal - great PDA, rubbish phone
there is no doubting that the Universal is a superb PDA - i don't really have so many problems using it for surfing either.
it's just mainly the phone part. it's not reliable.
so often i'm told that i was not available although my universal was turned on and i was definately within a very good signal range. upon rebooting the universal everything is fine.
due to browsing the forums here i had a very lean system with really only some basic stuff: pocketInformat, resco explorer, magic button & ozVGA
i was running the O2 ROM (corporate mode) - although i have just updated to the new T-Mobile German ROM...
i hope that it addresses some of my phone reliability issues.
i'll keep you all posted
Besides the Activesync which at times decides to go on vacation, I think this device rocks.
Everyone knew it was big so that doesn't really count doesn't it?
Hi guys,
I have made several tests and the results are quite surprising.
When I bought my O2 XDA Exec, I tried several ROMs and finally I stick to the O2 image who seems to be the more stable one. Then I tried PDA Viet Crossbow Roms where I was incredibly surprised by the speed and the new Crossbow features.
I hold on to this ROM for sometimes but there was some issues, not major one but enough annoying to make me want to try the Helmi ROM. I don't know why I got a lot of crashes and big stability issue. Then I tried the new PDAViet (2.00.06 if I remember well) which was also a nightmare of issues. At the end, I give another try to the Helmi since so many people were saying good feedback about it with also an upgrade of the radio to v1.13 and now it's working like a charm.
That's why I think it is difficult to say at the first that a ROM is better than another one. It seems to be a matter to get the upgrade right (like for cooking when you have the right measure and balance). Now the Helmi ROM is working perfectly which is really strange regarding the difference with my first experience since it is the same image (It's not a matter of applications I installed since I installed really few apps and the problem I got on the first run was without any extra apps). Even my problem I had with the PDAViet Roms are gone.
I am not planning to upgrade to a new ROM anytime soon unless there is big changes which worse it.
I was just writing to say that when you get a ROM working, no matter what rom it is, just keep it. It might be that you have the right balance and it's pricey to loose it.
Julien
You're right to a greater degree, however it depends on how each individual uses their device. Some may use the pda functions, some predominantly as a phone whilst others a combination of both. In all cases as long as what we intend to use works well enough then yes theres no real point in upgrading just as the saying goes "if its not broke then dont fix it". However, this is the first real build of Crossbow for this device and as is expected the bugs to go with it. Now we wait on a newer build that will hopefully be more efficient, faster, smoother. And remember getting your device to work smoother is exactly what the fun is all about!
Fully agree with both the posts above. The basic PDA and communication functionality is all that is required and is available in the Universal in its most basic form. However, being in this forum it is our second nature to keep upgrading and expecting each upgrade to be better than the earlier one. I personally feel that once you are satisfied with the stability and performance do not jump to the next upgrade unless the reasons are compelling.
Yeah, if it works, dont mess it up!
It seems that what works for one may not work for others!
The same goes for Radio Roms. It seems the only way to find a good radio rom is to try each one in turn untill you find one that works for you.
Maybe it depends on country and carrier?
A lot of people said 1.09 works, but i had it and it didnt.
Others said 1.13 didnt work, im using it and its great.
Tmobile-UK for me, using 1.13 and its all stable (for now, touch wood, cross fingers).
Definately DO NOT upgrade your radio rom if its working.
Totally up with you all. I've tried 4 different WM6 ROMs Jcwright's has proved perfect FOR MY NEEDS. But then, I don't really need video calling, push mail etc.
I've noticed on a lot of the threads that people are just downloading and flashing without doing too much research into the problems posed... from my experience, the only way I got this ROM as stable as it is was by thoroughly reading all WM6 threads and combining fixes from each.
A little research will go a long way.
I think all the developers have done a stand up job!
And on the Radio front, it does appear that there may be some regional discrepancies. Like Pyrofer says, I tried 4 different that others seemed to find agreeable but had problems. Like him, I've ended up on 1.13 supplied with Jcwright's ROM and couldn't be happier, but in the process of testing the others I did have to claim on my insurance for one handset (could have been a hardware issue though).
WM6 rocks! There's no doubt, but read up on whether the ROM your looking at supports your needs before you flash needlessly and start spamming the site with needless reiterations.
Just my opinion.

I agree, 1.13 seems to be the best radio version for use in the UK, whereas in Hong Kong the 1.14 works better but hopeless in the UK.
I have been wrestling with a 9502 for a 5 months now, and losing. There are many issues with the software that drive me nuts and which I'd love to fix:
1. The phone turns itself off from time to time. I know others have had this problem, but what is the fix?
2. The battery dies without warning, without beeping, after just a couple of days and little use. Naturally, I think it has turned itself off, but it's so flat that it won't turn on at all until at least a few minutes connected to the wall charger. How and where do I set battery status alarms?
3. Radio still loses signal and remains disconnected until device is 'woken up'.
4. Keyboard is still unresponsive, missing letters regularly making it almost unusable.
5. Graphics drivers would be appreciated.
6. Time in taskbar does not match system time.
Besides the very very bad customer support, they never ever answer you on any question neither by email or on the live support
everyone have to think twice before buying an expensive PPC from this company till they change thier policy and provide better support to thier products
now we are begging them daily on thier web site to provide a new release for the rom with fixed troubles with old one OR at least to provide the base rom to allow people to repair it AND ALWAYS NO ANSWER
WHAT CAN WE DO WITH THEM ????
Sounds to me more hardware issues than software. I have had the same device for four to five months and I have not had any of the issues you mentioned. And, I found the ROM very very stable.
I have owned more than 15 devices in the past 2 years, including the latest Samsung i900 Omnia, HTC TyTN II, Dopod 838pro, Dopod m700, O2 Graphite ... etc. so I have fair comparisons.

15 devices? wow. that made me feel good to read this that im not alone, although I have only owned 5 devices in the last 12 months, so i feel like an amateur compared to you.... and NONE of them are really what I want, which is a device that is as responsive and easy to use as my treo 650 which 9after a hacked rom) was the best device in its day.
I find the ROM stable (in that it doesn't crash) but these are all very common issues with the handset, most of which you do have, you just probably have put down to no network coverage or user errors. I have owned many, many WM devices and aside from the Blue Angel, this is the least usable one so far.
Radio is unacceptable. Signal is weak, and there is a universal bug in the ROM where it won't search for signal until awoken so if you lose it, you're not connected all day. 50% of the time I am uncontactable because of the poor radio. This makes the device unusable. Wifi signal strength on full power is also lower than any HTC device on power saver mode. This could be down to the positioning of the antenna.
Keyboard is also a ROM bug. Everyone has it, but it's only noticable if you type at a reasonable speed.
Graphics drivers are terrible.
System time is a universal bug. I only notice because I have a large today time plugin that shows the correct time and it often differs. Bug isn't the end of the world, but sometimes messes up text message orders.
Turning off is a software issue. I know because I had the problem and I-Mate fixed it by updating the firmware. I think it depended on which version your 9502 was shipped with. Mine was an early one.
Battery sounds like a hardware issue. Have you been charging using a Motorola or Sat-Nav charger or something? I know these often destroy batteries.
Official WM6.1 v1.77 ROM released by i-mate !!!
Look here ! It's fast and stable. 10MB more RAM than v1.73 (the leaked ROM) available afer a SR...
Cheers!

Hi Mark,
As far as I know, all 9502 devices are released unlocked by i-mate. You see, the ROM you dowload from i-mate.com is not related to Telstra at all.
Well, I live in Brazil, and although I'm not quite sure where my 9502 came from, it is flashed with their ROM, and it works fine with my local carrier.
As always, I might be wrong, though...

i have downloaded the new rom, it has no telstra screen, works fine.you need to ceate account with imate, download rom for 9502, active sync with pc, run update, within 10 min up & running. as always backup info first.
Ohh excellent - i ran the update from the most recent rapidshare on this website.
Worked a treat - now accepts all sim cards. Would not show my Vodafone card before.
Any chance someone can upload the LATEST firmware on rapidshare ??
im not signing up to anything with imate - or registering my product. id prefer my help from forums.

If you decide not to sign up & register your device, you won't be able to use i-mate's Secure i-Q, a very useful feature, IMHO.
Through it you would be able to lock your device up, make it start a potent audible alarm, or even wipe all your PIM data off from it, either from your PC or any other internet enabled device, in case it is lost or stolen. I have already given it a try, and it works a treat.
It's your decision, though...

When I finally decided to upgrade my HTC Tilt to the new Tilt 2, never tought all the problems that this will bring.
The first unit was purchased on 2.14.10 at ATT local store. Two weeks later I decided to change the unit because of the many problems encounter.
It's been now two more weeks and this new phone is worst than the first one. I have to do a soft reset at least two times a day. Taskmanager is often gone from my Today screen or any other application.
I have installed a couple of software found around here, but decided to installed all of them to check if the were the problem. They were not.
Yesterday, I finally decided to do a hard reset and start from scratch without any installed software, other that the bloatware included from att.
The problems persist. The phone keeps stalling/freezing over any application. The emails are not being pulled from gmail, hotmail or yahoo (I have 6 configured emails).
What do you guys recommend for this. Doing another hard reset right now it's no easy task since I have to reconfigure all emails, lose SMS, etc.
I was very anxious to get my hands on this phone but it's been a nightmare from day one. My first Tilt was more stable by far.
Thanks for any suggestions, I just have to get this out of me.
It could be any number of things causing your problems.
I myself was very disappointed with my Rhodium when I got it. Was slow, glitchy.
After alot of reading and researching, I found it was most likely due to memory leakage. And that most devices come with a modified/branded ROM from the service provider.
I found that flashing a stock HTC/cooked ROM solved most of the issues. And using an app called 'cleanRAM' freed up alot of memory.
If you dont mind losing your warranty, then I suggest flashing a newer/better ROM. And using cleanRAM to free up any leaked memory instead of a soft reset each time
First things first, install SSK dynamic proxy CAB, Nopushinternet CAB, and AT&T tilt2 speed fix.
My first month of owning TP2 I felt very similar, having to reset every couple days. Now my phone only gets reset when I remove the battery or run out of battery (its been on for about 2 weeks now). CleanRAM is a great utility, but I suggest purchasing SSK Tools for its other great programs (autoclean, registry editor, task manager, program manager...basically this thing is great for tweaking your phone.
I would suggest reading around on the forums, looking at all the stickies, and searching for other users who have the same issues as you. This phone is a great phone, but like you have come to realize, it really needs to be tweaked for its full potential to be released.
Thanks for the suggestions!
ATT just confirm that my phone qualify for a replacement. Mine have a small square white sticker in the battery compartment. This seems to be the key of identify units with problems. I got the feeling that the next new unit is going to suffer the same problems.
I'm willing to work it out and tweak my tilt 2.
Only for a minute I consider to go for the BB bold 9700 but it's not even close.
Definately this forum was key when deciding to upgrade to my tilt 2.
Keep up the good work!

All phones have the white sticker. It is how AT&T makes sure your phone has not been water damaged. It turns pink when exposed to water. You most likely aren't experiencing an issue that is specific to your phone.
All Tilt2s are horribly slow and people here just don't want to admit it. It is using the SAME processor as your original tilt, just only clocked at 528MHz instead of 400MHz but it has to drive a much higher resolution screen. Also, either WM6.5 or HTCs implementation of it on the Tilt2 is crap. It wastes memory like no other. I haven't used other WM6.5 phones so I don't know which it is.
I really like my Tilt2's appearance and absolutely love its keyboard but I hate the hardware in it. The crappyness of the OS (either due to 6.5 itself or HTCs implementation) does not help either.
I actually just found a REALLY good deal on a Telus Motorola Milestone on eBay, just $475 after Bing Cashback! I ordered it and can't wait to get it! It has a worse keyboard but its processor is a bit better and Android has surpassed WM.

That Motorola looks good!
Well, after your recomendations and some extra browsing around here, I decided to hard reset my Tilt 2 again and start from scratch. I have installed all the recommend software and only have one freeze up today while updating the Stocks.
Ram usage is at 55-60% most of the times.
I have also decided not to exchange my phone again, ATT was offering a refurbished unit and mine is new.
I'll stick with for now with the Win 6.5 Rom, maybe there's an update or patch coming up.
I have develop extra patience since using my Acer Aspire One with Intel Atom processor, this thing also get really slow at times...
I stumbled on to this site looking at phones on ebay. Great find. I see that some of the threads indicate that some end users have been able to replace the ROM and OS on there Tilt 2 WINMO phones with Android and other fixes to make this incredibly slow freezing phone a respectable Smart Phone. I have been a WINMO user for over eight years and have never owned a bigger slower piece since my original brick phone. Have had it replaced twice and now am going to switch to the new Android offering from At&t. But if I can make this better phone I am all about it. I know I sound like a total rook but some help would be appreciated.

sure you can replace WM with Android, but remember its not a fully operational OS because its a port, so i hope you can live with no sound, bluetooth and no camera....battery could be an issue but with the latest builds its been a HUGE improvement ever since the project started, and also to have a MicroSD card in hand to make Android work, but keep in mind the speeds are not going to be like Windows Mobile since it runs off of a MicroSD, but if you really up for it and you want to speed up your Tilt 2 if youre on WM, i recommend flashing a ROM just be sure to HARDSPL before you do

Cool so Android is out on the Tilt. I noticed what you have done with your tilt 2. Even though I am Computer savy I would like to do something somewhat easy for the first time out. Thanks for the help I will check out the info you gave me and hopefully get it done right.
I keep reading posts about what a POS the Tilt 2/TP2 is and I'm baffled because mine just doesn't seem to fit that description. Mind you, it's no speed demon, but it does all I ask of it with ease. And I've yet to have it freeze up requiring a physical reset. I hard reset it once, but that was because I installed some stuff that wasn't designed for it. I've modded the heck out of mine and gotten the eye candy (of which there's a ton to choose from) where I like it. Yesterday, I impressed some friends when I quickly got some restaurant info from Bing on my phone and then did a quick Skyfire search on some rock band to settle a bet. This is not my first WinMo device, but it certainly is the best so far.
brother I wish mine was all that. I got my first htc tilt2 in Jan this year. Did alot of research and did not find a whole lot to worry about. Got the phone and was happy for about the first month was up. The internet is slow, constantly freezes, when switching to keyboard the darn thing goes three ways from sunday and locks up. I have actually seen static like on my tv. So I went to the local At&T device support center and the dough head told me its windows you will have to learn to deal with it being a hunk of junk. On my second one signal sucks still slow as hell and locks up all the time. Have had to reset (hard) numerous times. Not gona get rid of them, however gona check out some of the mods and see how it goes. The HTC is also not my first WINMO originally started with the orginal Black Jack and dont look forward to the droid conversion. But Will check it out and Hopefully mod this one out with this site.
